Mine would have to be.....

Roseanne......but only the first six seasons. (The last couple seasons really bombed.) It dealt with topics that felt very real, and there were actually several very touching moments. It pushed the envelope (and drove the sensors crazy) as far as what type of material prime time TV shows could actually show/talk about. It was one of the first shows I knew of that had several main characters that were gay/lesbian.

The Simpsons.........the first 10-12 seasons. (Love them.) The last few seasons have gotten pretty stale. Unfortunately, the movie didn't even come close to comparing to what the show used to be.

Was never much of a live-sitcom fan, but I do like the Simpsons and Family Guy.

Not much of a sitcom fan at all. :( I never watched Roseanne other than a random episode or two and am very pleased to say I've never seen an episode of the Simpsons. :teeth:

Just not into that sort of tv, I guess. :confused3

I'm going to have to say Friends. In seven years, I can't think of any period where I thought they had "jumped the shark" with that show. It was always well written, produced, and acted. It was always funny. It was always true to itself. Sure there were a couple of cringe-worth episodes, but no "I liked it up until such and such season" or "I just stopped watching it after this point" feelings.

Other favorites include some classic television: I Love Lucy, Bewitched, The Dick VanDyke Show, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family . . .

Friends was too predictable to me. I like Phoebe......but the others kinda drive me nuts. It felt like they were reading the script while they were acting. :confused3

I have to second Friends. To this day my friends and I use so many lines from the show that it's scary.

I also love House, NCIS, Ugly Betty, Grey's, Intervention, Paranormal State, Law & Order SVU, Queer as Folk and Bad Girls

Slater wasn't even on the show during the first season. I didn't know that until about a week ago.

Oh now, wait a minute! No one said anything about drama. :teeth:

Queer as Folk, absolutely! I own the entire 5 seasons on DVD. :teeth:

I did think of one comedy I used to like... looooong time ago. The one with Robin Williams, Mork and Mindy? Or Mork from Ork? Something like that. :teeth:

I prefer a good comedy to drama darn near any day. :thumbsup2

The best comedy right now, IMHO, is How I Met Your Mother. It and the Big Bang Theory are the only two comedies that I make a point to see every week. If I have the chance, I will stop and watch The New Adventures of Old Christine, Two and a Half Men, Scrubs, and The Big Gay Sketch Show.

Old School.....
Designing Women, Golden Girls, Mad about You, Roseanne, Will & Grace, Friends, Night Court, The Carol Burnett Show, and anything that starred Lucille Ball will catch and usually hold my attention from start to finish.

Just a note about the Roseanne's last couple of seasons. I really didn't care for them either, however, after viewing the finale, it all made perfect sense and I went back to rewatch them with renewed interest. The last couple of seasons are best viewed after you know what the heck was really going on, in fact they are actually quite bittersweet.

I saw the last episode again last night, and I agree completely. I actually liked Roseanne's 10-minute wrap-up speech at the end where she explains everything. It was really sad, but fitting. I still wish the original Becky was in the final episode, though.
