Was digging through previous trip photos and found this. Look at the size of CSR compared to Epcot, Swan and Dolphin.
That is one MONSTER of a resort.

There are no conceirge rooms at CSR. There is Club Level--but only for convention guests.
There are lots of pictures of the CSR here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1849807

Go go IMG Code under the photo, click on it. Then right click and hit copy. Then come back to the DIS thread and right click and hit paste.

I only have CBR to compare it to, I dont remember the square footage difference, I think CBR rooms were a little bigger, but not so that you would notice.

You are right. The moderates are not that much bigger than the moderates. The CBR is the largest of the moderates, but there is not that much difference. The deluxes are, of course, the biggest rooms (although I understand the WL and maybe the AKL are more comparable to the moderates).

Yes, the CSR has elevators. As far as the rehab, all of the Cabanas are done. They are starting on the last building of the Ranchos and will then only have the first three floors of Casitas 1, 2 and 3 to finish (Casitas 4 and 5 are already completed). The rehab is scheduled to be completed by October of this year.
We truly enjoyed our stay at CSR & regret not having 1-2 extra days to relax at the pool & hammocks. We never even had a chance to go to restaurants on site. This was our first family trip to Disney & CSR. We would definitely stay here again during the next trip.
Here are a few pictures that we took. The sliding doors between the sleeping & dressing area were very convenient when getting ready while others slept!. Nice touch!
Cabanas 8B ...loved the corner room location!

Don't worry. He's in the lake...not the pool. He's never been seen in the pool. Now, ducks have been known to swim in the quiet pool, but never "Glen", the CSR alligator. :thumbsup2

Great thread here. I do not really want to look through the entire 1,300+ pages to find what I am looking for, so I figured I would just ask. Can someone post pics of the fitness room? I am one of those that continues to exercise even when on vacation and I like to know what to expect before I arrive.
Thank you in advance and I will probably thank you afterward, too. :)

No, the sliding doors separate the bedroom from the sink/counter area. There is a door on the bathroom where the toilet and shower are. Truthfully, I don't remember if they lock. I would assume they do.

Ok, i'm only on pg 30 right now, but i'm working my way through them all. We are going back to Disney in September and were planning on staying at the all star music suite, we are a family of 6. Well, i just priced this resort out today and I NEED TO STAY HERE BADLY. It's absolutely gorgeous.
Does anyone have pictures of the junior suites. That's what Disney's website said would sleep the 6 of us. And does anyone know what building those are in? Thanks so much!!!

Hello, We just got back from our 2nd visit to DW, both times staying at ASmo. Next time I really want to stay at CSR, but one thing I've learned about myself is that it needs to be close to the bus stop, cafeteria, and pool...with a nice view. ;) Tall order I know, but can someone suggest which section this would be? Also, noticing the new refurbed rooms... love them! Are they doing all the rooms? We won't be going back for another 2-3 years, so I was just wondering. Any pictures on this heavenly tall ordered section would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, all of the rooms now have the new look. The furniture, bedding, etc. prior to the rehab was in desperate need of replacement. The old "theme" never bothered us, but we definitely prefer the new theme.

Thank you. Current camera is a Sony DSLR-A550.
The lens was a Tamron 10-24mm F3.5-4.5 'ultra-wide'...it gives a 35mm equivalent of 15mm on my camera, which is extremely wide - about 111 degrees. So you can stand very close to something and still get it all in the shot. Ultra-wide lenses are a lot of fun for the different perspective they give!

Does anybody have pictures of a Junior Suite? I am considering this resort for my trip next year and wondered if anybody had photos of a regular Junior suite. I have 2 girls who are not used to sharing a bed and its between here and Port Orleans because they offer a trundle bed.
I saw the pictures way back in June 08 but was not sure what type of suite that was and it did not show any pictures of the bedroom or sleeping arrangements.
Thanks

No pictures of a suite, but have pics of our room. Requested Cabanas 9B or Casitas 3, 4 or 5 and got Cabanas 8A. I had faxed only a day early and told them we wanted to be central to everything and we were really close to dig site and bus stop 4, but a little longer walk to el centro. Worked out fine. Here is our room - 8231, a corner room with water view.

Well, I made it through all 94 pages. WOW!! A lot of pics. They are wonderful. About 20 pages ago, there was a pic of EE. Where was the person standing when they took this?? From what building??
Thanks again!

I am curious....is the bedding more like a down comforter??
I am SOOO picky about the type of bedding...we will be driving and I have no problems packing my own Down Comforter...but it looks like from the pictures thats what it is.
BTW thank you for putting this thread together...I have been having such a HARD time figuring out where to stay...I am completely and totally SOLD...this is where we will be staying..I think it is just in the middle for us...it was please DH and I, as its not so "character looking" but it will also please my kids as well...with all the things for them to do.
Disney's website definately needs to update its pictures..cause the photos they have for the rooms arent not appealing like the ones posted here.

No, I did not ask for a corner room, but I was hoping for one. I always think it is a little quieter. We had NO noise problems. As I posted, I didn't get anything I asked for, but was quite happy with where we were. Nice view, close to pool and bus stop and a hammock! I think the property is so pretty that I would not request waterview (I had no choice) since you can't really sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view anyway. But it was nice to wake up to in the morning. :)

It is not a down comforter, but a comforter that is wrapped in white material. I folded it down each evening.

Thanks
Hey there...I am staying in a suite in September. I have attached a link below that takes you to a page that talks about the suites. On the middle of the left hand side of the page, are some links to pics. They are nice.

We've decided to stay at CSR for our Honeymoon in October (2011) and I couldn't be more happier with our decision after looking at this thread!! Is there a reason why Casitas 4 and 5 are said to be the best spot for honeymooners? We plan on requesting Cabana 9b because of the beaches/hammocks and central location. Just curious why Casitas are considered more romantic.
Thanks! :)

Cabanas 9B is popular and also the Club Level area for Convention guests.
We find Casitas 4 and 5 more romantic because of the tucked in gardens, courtyards with fountains, etc.
If you've not been to this site, be sure to stop by (it's the unofficial CSR Faq thread and it is linked in my signature).

Ok we have only stayed at WL before. We just reserved a room at CSR in May of this year. I went on tripadvisor and just saw HORRIBLE reviews for this January 2011. Dirty rooms, unfriendly cast members, etc. etc. So....I thought I would come to the experts here :) What is it really like - is it dirty? Are the walls PAPER THIN like the reviews say? We will only be staying for 3 nights, but are very excited to do so.
Also we are not paying for a preferred room. How can we go about getting something that is more central - what should we ask for - and can we fax that in/etc. and ask for that?
Sorry for all the questions! :)

I don't follow what tripadvisor says. If I had or listened to other reviews, I would have never stayed at the CSR. I've now stayed nine times and have NEVER had a dirty room or unfriendly CM's. We have never heard anyone in the room above us, below us, next to us, etc.
Mousekeeping is down in general at all Disney resorts. If you have any issue, go to the front desk and ask for a manager--this is what we do at any resort we stay at (value, moderate or deluxe).

I went on tripadvisor and just saw HORRIBLE reviews for this January 2011.
I think people who're annoyed are more likely to post to tripadvisor, which can skew the ratings. I also have less faith in negative reviews from someone who barely posts. Scanning through the first page of the "1 dot" CSR reviews there, nearly all of them are done by people where it's their only post. The two that aren't, one person is grumbling because of their room assignment and the fact that they didn't get a good deal, and the other person also considered Disney food "disgustingly bad everywhere" as well as "just atrocious all around awful."
Now, I haven't eaten at every Disney restaurant, but the ones I have been to were not "disgustingly bad", let alone "just atrocious." But then, unlike this author, my travel style is not "nothing but the best" and I don't demand "all the comforts of home." ;)
And if the walls are paper thin, this is not something that's developed this January, yet the place gets three and a half dots overall (i.e., middle of "very good"). So I'm thinking not everyone agrees with that assessment. :p If you have to be in Cabanas or Casitas or it'll ruin your trip, maybe you need to rethink it. Otherwise, I'm guessing you'll be fine. :)

Night shot, January 2007
this is the only photo I have uploaded on to flickr. We stayed in bldg 9a and loved how central it was to everything - hammocks and beach right out front, pool and hot tub a short but beautiful walk, and main lobby & restaraunts equally close. We were there in January, and have to say that we didn't hear anyone - I don't think the place was full but there was a conference going on so it wasn't empty.

Just booked our first stay at CSR a few weeks ago, when I asked the rep to notate on our reservation that we would like to stay in either Casitas 4 or 5 I was informed that these are preferred rooms. It was only an extra $31 bucks so it really wasn’t a big deal, but I was just wondering if anybody else had heard this information?

I would call back as you were given wrong information. Only Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are preferred. So if you want to be in 4 or 5 and pay preferred, you are getting screwed on your money and won't have a chance to be the section you want.

And yes, lovintinker, I agree with Kathy...definitely call back and speak to someone else! The only reason I can think for them to charge you extra in buildings 4 or 5 would be for a king bed or a water view....so absolutely I would call and double check on that....

Thanks for the help, I'll give them a call back this afternoon. We originally book just a king bed, but when I called just to have them notate on the reservation our preference for Casitas 4 or 5 is when I was told I would need to book a preferred room which came out to be $31 bucks more.

Yeah these are not prefered, what I did was pay for water view instead and requested Casitas 4 or 5. Hopefully with paying for an upgrade I will get the building I want at least :)

Glad I found this thread....we will be there in May....and the pictures and reviews are sooooooo helpful.....kinda nervous about staying here because of how BIG it is....but this was my husbands choice.....and since my son and I picked our first vacation WL.....thought it was his turn.....really hoping I'm not disappointed:rolleyes:
I think you can relax b/c he is making a brilliant choice in picking this awesome resort! I don't know why everyone disses that it is so big. It really wasn't a factor for us and w/ so many bus stops, if you find it to be too tough to walk, then you could hop on oneof the buses b/c there IS a bus stop near every section. We have stayed in many resorts- the walk at Pop Century was comparable to the walk we had at Casitas 4. NO BIGGIE. We didn't like our first room in the Cabanas (though others might have loved the lakeview location and close proximity to the Dig Site)--I liked Casitas better - we were near bus stop 2 and right at the spa. I tell you, this is one majorly cooool resort!! You know, you walk a lot at Disney anyway and I'd honestly tell you if I thought it was suchtoo much---in fact, I enjoyed just walking around the resort even when I didn't HAVE to b/c itis soooo very beautiful. I am envious you get to go! Have fun!

I thought it was an enjoyable resort, if you don't mind the walking like others have stated. The biggest surprise for me was that we could distinctly hear Fantasmic while it was going on! That was during our first night before we had visited any parks yet, so it was quite the "welcome." We could also see some of Illuminations, but never were able to hear it.

I only distinctly remember seeing the finale, but that's not to say other parts aren't visible (I just don't remember). If you're exiting the food court building, walk down the sidewalk to your left. Around the first few room buildings, you should be able to see them from there. :thumbsup2 But keep in mind the music does not play at CSR like it does for the MK resorts during Wishes.

Hi all,
We just got back from a trip on Monday. We stayed off property for a week, and then at CS for 4 days. Here is my report - the good, the bad, everything.
The first room we checked into stunk so badly, my daughter almost gagged. We had her step outside and then we called to change rooms, which took another 6 hours to get into.
The room we got into did not have a microwave, which was specifically told to us when I booked it that that would be available. Now, maybe in all fairness I heard wrong, but because of certain things we have to deal with, we really need a microwave. The woman finally was very nice and did give us a $25 comp on our room. That was nice.
We couldnt call the front desk because our phone wasnt working. We called every day to have them come fix it, and they finally fixed it on the last day. Thats a problem because my husband needed the internet (attached to the phone obviously) becuase he is a web designer. Very frustrating.
I drink coffee. But I only got it one day becuase the maid service did not give me any more packets on the other days. Sigh.
We had to call and ask for more soap, shampoo also because that was not given as well. Sigh.
We had to call using our cell phone......OUTSIDE THE ROOM. See, not only did our phone not work, our cell phones didnt work inside the rooms because of reception. Exhausting.
The grounds are nice, and the hammock is nice. But for the total exhaustion of what we went through I have to say that there are other pretty views around Disney on and off different properties, and that we will never stay at Coronado again most likely. We really didnt have a good time there, and it just seemed like for the amount we paid for those rooms there were frustrations we expected to find at a Motel 8, not a Disney property. We also weren't really given a lot to "make up" for the problems.
So - there you have it. I'm usually the most laid back person, and frankly, I usually think reviews like this should be taken with a grain of salt, as the person is probably grumpy or grouchy or just somehow unable to be pleased, but in my case, that really wasnt what happened. We really did give them a lot of chances, and were disappointed a lot. Again, its a beautiful property, but Orlando is filled with beautiful properties :) and ones where I can actually get a cup of coffee and have a phone. :)

I'm sorry your stay at the CSR was so disappointing.
A few things: microwaves are NOT guaranteed; they are available on a first come, first serve basis by asking at the desk when you check in.
Do you know what the smell was in your first room? Was it cleaning solutions?
Calling the front desk gets you know where...as they do NOT answer phones there (the calls go to a central location). When having an issue with coffee, shampoo, etc., it is best to either call Mousekeeping directly or to stop at the front desk. Also, the same with the phone.
I don't understand the cell phone issue as I've never had an issue in nine stays at the CSR with using my phone inside my room.
Again, I'm sorry your stay was such a disappointment for you.

No one ever told me microwaves weren't guaranteed. Thats the part I have a problem with. Its just hard when you ask the right questions, but get wrong answers.
The smell smelled like rotting body odor. It was definitely not a cleaning solution! :)
I couldnt call anyone. The phone didnt work. My only option was to call the main number using my cell phone ... OUTSIDE. We were in 8A cabanas on the main floor - room 8150 if that helps, and no we couldn't use our cell phones inside. Frustrating.
It was a disappointment, especially for the money we paid.....next time we'll go back to Wilderness Lodge! :)

Just got back from a 10 night stay at CSR. We were in the Casitas 1 building, preferred. Our room was great. Always very clean. We loved the resort. Our building was close to the food court, store. The main pool/dig site was across the lake and was about a 5-10 min walk, but it was a great walk with great sites. There were games at the pool area every afternoon for kids and adults. It's a very beautiful resort. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus.
I will say, we did not have cell phone reception in our room either, which was a bit of a pain. I also took advantage of a massage at the spa and it was very nice. I would definately stay here again.

I do not think microwaves are standard at any resort except the villas. Did you ask when you checked in? Or when you made your reservation? I ask so that I can "include it on the "unofficial" thread that I run for the CSR so no one else experiences this.
Your issues with the soap, coffee, etc., is why I always walk to the front desk...it proves to be much more efficient, no matter which resort we stay at.
Again, I'm sorry you didn't care for it and that you know that you enjoy the WL and stay there on your next trip.
Have a great day.

They were standard at Wilderness Lodge, and yes we asked (twice) when we booked the reservation. :) And as far as the soap, etc. I just didnt want to walk 10 minutes in the night for soap - thats sort of what I was grumpy about because I'm like, wow, I'm paying a lot for no soap or coffee. We went ahead and left a tip, but I still feel like we probably shouldnt have.
We did love the grounds and the hammock, but that was about it. Oh, and the pool had some problem with it too, and so the time we were there everyone was not allowed in it. Sigh. One thing after another! :)

That is not the CSR's fault if you requested it at time of booking the reservation. Unfortunately, I've dealt with reservatioin people who did not know things that us on the DIS have known for six months.
I wouldn't have left a tip if they weren't supplying you with the things you wanted.
Again, I'm glad you gave it a try and it didn't live up to your expectations. But that is what is so great about Disney...there is a resort for everyone.

We will be staying at CSR in late October. I stayed here one time several years ago (1999 I think). We stayed in the Ranchos section and I remember walking past the Cabanas buildings every day on the way back and forth to the main building. I wish I could find my pictures from that trip. It looks like there is a bridge that crosses over the lake and that you wouldn't have to walk over bhy the Cabanas. Was that always there and we just managed to not see it? Just curious.
I'm excited about going back. It is a beautiful resort - my oldest dd said she doesn't remember it (I don't know how she wouldn't since she was in high school) and my younger children have never stayed there.

Quuick question... I have my heart set on the Casita buildings. I know it is important for dh to be close to a refillable mug station and a bus station. So from my understanding we could request (and pay for pref) Casita 1 and be close to the main lobby. How far of a walk is it to the bus stop there?
The other possibility, and the one I'd rather, is go with Casitas 4 or 5, be close to the quiet pool, bus stop, and close to the Dig site where he can get a refill too. How long of a walk is it from casita 4 and 5 to the dig site?
The other idea is that I think the bus upon returning will stop at the main lobby area, where he could get off, and the kids and I stay on the bus to bus stop near casitas. He can walk back to the resort...
How long of a walk is it from Casitas 4 to the main area? I am sure we would use the cafeteria area for milk for the kids, and some drinks for the adults. Along with the refillable mug. We will use the QS restaurant 1-2 times perhaps. Bus stop will be used frequently daily, quiet pool if close might be used daily as well (dig site when we have more time).
Do all my scenarios make sense? I would like to be near the quiet pool and not have to pay preferred....preferably. But.... a great vacation is higher up on my list than saving the money.
Your help is very helpful!!!

You will find lots of these answers in the "unoffical" thread earmarked in my signature.
DH and I prefer and try to stay in Casitas 4 for most visits (so far, we've been in that building three times and Casitas 5 two times). It takes me (age 53) five minutes to walk to the main building and about seven minutes to walk to the main pool (this is if I do not stop to take pictures along the way).

I will check out the thread, thanks! Our 'fear' (for lack of better word) is that we will hate the walking. But it looks so beautiful. We are used to pref ASmo where it is all very compact. We stayed non pref and really didn't enjoy the walk to the room. Take into consideration we were with 2 strollers and that was 2 years ago. The kids are older now (hoping this makes a difference)

I loved the true resort feel of CSR and like KatMark, I just had to stop to take pics whenever possible because of there is beauty at every turn!
Re: PP and walking at Disney---I think we still took a stroller when my DS was 5---he was a small 5 and we had no shame in our game even if his toes were nearly dragging the ground---in fact, I missed the stroller once he truly wouldn't fit into it any longer---sure could store lots of essentials for the day!
I'd like to buy a shirt that says, "CSR: Worth Every Step."
BTW---I did get a microwave along w/ our CSR room and it was gigantic---I kept calling the resort prior to arrival to request it...a lot...not sure if this helped our getting one or not, but to be sure, the CSR knew we'd hoped for this. Also, we went directly to concierge once we checked in for any issues---they are wonderful at CSR---not that we experienced a lot of issues....

We will have one stroller, DD 5 is NOT a walker... whines and complains if she is bored and walking. Will she run after her brother and explore? oh yes, but we will definitely have a stroller for her! Ds 6 on the other hand, loves to walk. Last year he pushed his stroller around everywhere. Not much point in having one this year!
I just realized that when we had to walk, it was always at the end of the day or beginning of the day to the bus. With Casitas 4 and 5 the bus is right there. Other than that I can't imagine us having an issue with the walk. We have an extra 2 days this trip to get some R&R....we aren't rushing for anything!! ;)

I have never asked for an upgrade but have received water view upgrades six of our nine stays (we paid for a water view once, once we got standard and once we were upgraded to a junior suite). The rule of thumb here on the DIS is to nicely ask if one is available, but to be prepared to pay for it. Truthfully, without a balcony, there really is no point in paying for one.

Luv your post---I think CSR is perfect for you!!!
For me the worst part is not the walking but the waiting for buses to arrive anyway. The CSR buses were faster than any other resort we've experienced. It's the end of night buses from the parks that are just UGH painful, doncha think?---Murphy's Law always in action---always another resort's bus that pulls up instead of the one ww want?! LOL
Enjoy your trip!!

Well...I just sat down with dh to discuss the preference of Casitas vs Cabanas. Luckily for him he agrees with my fav, Casitas ;) :lovestruc Then he says, after looking at the map he'd rather stay prefered, especially since it's our anniversary. Which was a surprise to me since CSR was a gift from him for our anniersary.
SOOOO... more questions... Which bus stop is the closest from Casitas 1, 2 and 3? I assume Cas 1 is bus stop 1. Which is fine I think. lol
The other question is that I notice that we could be given a room overlooking a parkig area or road. Do I request a courtyard or water view to try to not get a view of trees?

All preferred is going to do is put you closer to El Centro; you could have a view of a courtyard or a parking lot. Casitas 1 and parts of Casitas 2 are closer to Bus Stop 1 (located at El Centro) which is the last stop picked up and dropped off; Casitas 3 (and part of Casitas 2) is closer to Bus Stop 2 which is the first stop picked up and dropped off.
I would pay for a standard room (or if DH is willing to pay for preferred then, instead of paying for preferred, pay for waterview so you don't have a chance of a parking lot view). I would also note on your ressie that you are celebrating your anniversary and perhaps a little pixie dust will come your way.

Overall our stay at CSR was good. Some disappointments.
I had made one request only & that was to be as close to the main building as possible. However, when we arrived we were in Rancheros 7. This was pretty much as far away as you could get. I didn't create a fuss or request a change, although afterwards I wish I would have. She kept insisting we had this great poolview (quiet pool) (which we didn't pay for), however it was on the other side of the building from the pool totally (fine that is what we paid for but don't b.s. me by telling me how great our view will be). We followed her directions to get to our room on the side she had marked on the map (vs. the signs LOL) so we ended up walking all the way around the building before we finally reached our room since it was not where she said it was.
Needless to say this didn't start me off in the most visitor friendly mood to CSR & if I were smart I would have called the front desk & requested a room change, but I didn't want to have the kids get upset with me. I still planned on eating at elCentro, however, after the first park day I had open blisters on my feet so all walking was restricted to parks & the 'shortest' routes at all times, so we never enjoyed the food venues other than at the Dig Pool. (Blisters were mostly from excessive humidity & heat - caused feet to swell & rub - if we had actually HAD summer up here before going, I would have been somewhat conditioned LOL).
The building location was however close to Bus Stop 4. It was about a 1.5 minute walk down to the stop. Buses were great except one day. We waited through 3 or 4 MK buses in the afternoon (as well as others) & still no Epcot bus. We finally gave up & grabbed a MK bus & then hopped the monorail to Epcot. It probably took us longer in the long run, however, we just couldn't sit & wait & it gave us another monorail ride. We wanted to be on the move. The other family was on the phone when we left wondering where the bus was as they had been waiting just as long. Every other day we waited about 10 minutes max for a bus & were able to do rope drop 3 mornings at each park (a first for us). (For AK we took the car).
Room was very nice - nothing bad about it at all. Our floor (2nd) had a small trio of towel animals in the windows of the whole row, but no new ones added each day. The beds & pillows were very comfortable - kids threatened to steal the pillows. The bathroom exhaust fan was good & strong, but humidity was so high it was still an effort to keep the bathroom & yourself 'dry' after showering. This wasn't their fault - just extreme humidity & I did appreciate the strength of the fan that was in the bathroom - most have a 'wussy' fan.
Refrigerator did not cool well unless on max cool, however then it worked fine. It did not have a separate freezer compartment (we didn't need it but some might). We went to WM the first night & purchased a case of water, milk, cereal, granola bars & sugar free Starbucks frapps (since I knew I wouldn't make it to elCentro for coffee in the morning). Since we didn't plan on any leftovers I didn't request a microwave. I had brought disposable bowls & silverware from home.
Pool (Dig) was enjoyed immensely by the kids. They had no complaints at all with it. We each had an order of nachos one day there - I thought they were fine - her boyfriend thought they were awful. Personal choice I guess.
The comment about cell signal we ran into also. We could sit on the bed by the clock & have a low signal. We could move to the desk & have NO signal. Step out on the balcony & have good signal. Not sure what was blocking it but if we didn't keep phones plugged in while in the room it drained battery severely fighting for signal. (We have USCC & they have a tower agreement with all other carriers so if signal was there we should have had it).
Also had the shampoo issue - we never received anything other than the 1st bottle. We did get one extra set of soaps & one extra hand lotion on day 2, but no more shampoo. DD had brought her own so luckily the one was enough for her boyfriend & myself, but we were squeezing the last of it out on day 5. (We could have stolen some of DD's if we had to). But I would have expected at least one more bottle to be left when ours was 3/4 gone.
The hotel is not really that far 'out of the way' - it's not far from S/D at all, however it just 'feels' way out in the boonies.
DD & her boyfriend liked the hotel, but I have her spoiled. She was nearly in tears when we left Epcot the one night & rode the boat over to S/D. (This was my 'shortcut' because I knew I could NOT walk back to front of Epcot - we hopped the boat, took the DTD bus from Swan & then bussed back to CSR - took less time than it would have taken me to shuffle back to front - BAD blisters that day. And we waited less than 2 min each for boat, bus & bus). She just begged me to go back to S/D on the next trip (we have done 2 at S & 1 at D).
I had to be honest & tell her if I was paying out of pocket, fine, we would go back to S/D. If I had Disney gift cards banked up again, we would be back at a Dis resort.
Would I stay at CSR again? Yes, but......I would definitely pay for a preferred room, as we probably won't be lucky enough to get a fantastic car deal like this time to get WM supplies. The kids are young enough to be able to get to the pool easily & they are not as affected by walking in the heat as I am. Otherwise, I would choose POFQ if available first as we loved the small layout & location there. If budget (and a PIN code allowed it) I would hope at some point to actually try Wilderness Lodge or Poly. (We have done BC & other than great location it just wasn't 'me'). However, I am sure we will be back at SD, POFQ or here. I have a huge mental problem on spending several hundred dollars a night on a bed to sleep in when you are not in it all day, so mods or a S/D discount are a better choice for us. However, no desire to stay at Caribbean.
My overall rating would be a B, with an upgrade to an A- if I had a preferred location.

my ressie says water view, if I get stuck in some Rancho area though I'll be annoyed, you think I should request something then?? what I was planning to do was not ask for anything, and just let the chips fall where they did and wing it, but now I'm freaking out, lots of time to think it over and everything. To be honest even if we got Rancho's I think it'll all be fine, we like to walk and from what I've heard and seen who cares about a little walking, we're going to be in Florida in October when its starting to get cold in Ontario and will just be thankful for anything at all ! But after reading and reading I'm kinda iffy now.
This is what my reservation says btw

Thank you so much for a very detailed review; it is greatly appreciated. I'm glad that for the most part you enjoyed your stay at the CSR. A little hint on the fridges...none of them have freezers, but if you keep the cabinet door open rather than closed, the fridges tend to stay a little colder.

Yes, you have paid for a water view (this is $25 more per night than a standard view). If you want to increase your chance of NOT getting in the Ranchos, you might want to have a request added to your reservation indicating that you would like to be in the Cabanas. Just remember that it is a request and not a guarantee. We've not stayed in the Ranchos yet in nine trips, but have asked for it this trip so we will have tried all sections of the resort.

Yeah I think that was his main goal, get closer to El Centro, but I don't want to have to go to the last bus stop every day. I'd rather go to the bus stop by Casitad 4. Is there any fountains or gardens at Casitas 4? I know the quiet pool is there, which is lovely. Would this be considered a water view? Or is that strictly the lake?
I just realized that not only are we celebrating our 7th anniversary, but I turn 30 Oct 22nd (we will be there in the beginning of the month but where else would I like to celebrate my 30th???) I knew I am 29, but we will be in Disney for both celebrations!!!:banana::banana: Exciting!
Last question (for this hour lol) If we decide to stick with standard, hope for Casitas 4 or 5, hope further more for a free upgrade :rolleyes1 at the end of september... if we get stuck in Ranchos can we, upon check in pay for a prefered building then (if available of course)? I really want Casitas. I love the fountains and lush gardens!!!!

Definitely note both anniversary and birthday (DH and I go every September and our anniversary is in May, but we celebrate at Disney).
I have gone totally blank, but I believe there is a courtyard view in Casitas 4 on the opposite side (away from the pool); the pool is considered a water view.
Of course, you can ask if they put you in the Ranchos if there is availability in the Casitas where you want to be and, if not, if there is availability in preferred and that you would be willing to pay for it. I find that if the question is asked nicely and they can accomodate you, they will.

Thank KatMark, I am, if nothing else, polite. I've been in the customer service industry up until I had my babies. :) I can't find any pictures of non 'water view' rooms. I love a good view, but to spend $25 a night on one I can't justify. But I reallly dont want to be staring at a parking lot.
Last year at ASmo we had a prefered room in the Toy Story Section. (which we had stayed before and had an awesome room). But we were staring at grass and trees. There was literally nothing to look at, and the walk was the same distance as standard where we had something to look at iout our window and door. I like to take the kids out in the AM while DH (who is always last) is getting ready. Let them burn some energy and enjoy the area. So to do so near a fountain or a lush area would be great.
Is a view of a fountain waterview as well?

Yes, a fountain is waterview as well.
Here is a picture of a courtyard view in the Casitas (don't ask me which one...I took this years ago)

I am not a veteran CSR visitor, but we did have a water view of a very pretty small lake from the room we stayed in the back side of Cabanas 9B. However, without a private balcolny it really was not that important. I much preferred to swing in a hammock on the cabanas "beach" while my son played in the sand. We spent a lot of time there in afternoon relaxing. :cloud9: For our upcoming trip, I have a water view on my reservation and we have requested the cabanas again. We did a room only package with the discount they were offering earlier this spring so it was a good deal.

Just got back from Coronado, It was my first time there, and my GF and I loved it.
We booked a standard room and ended up getting a king bed and a water view, the room didn't face the main lake but the pond in the back, it was very nice. They had us booked in the ranchos but moved us to the Cabanas building 9B, couldn't be any closer to the main building which was great. The room was nice and always got new towels and a new supply of bath supplies everyday. I would definaitly stay there again, We couldn't ask for anything more.
Thumbs Up to Coronado!!! Thanks for the most amazing trip, to bad it wasn't longer,
