Can you walk to any of the parks from Coronado or is it bus only? TA told me you could walk to AK or Epcot.
No, you have to take a bus. There are no sidewalks...too dangerous.

There is a sidewalk that starts across the street from the entrance to CSR. You can see the crosswalk in the picture below and that leads to the sidewalk.

Hi Buzz2001, does anyone know how long it would take to walk to the McDonalds? Probably won't walk it myself, but would like to be able to offer that as a suggestion to my kids. I read on the dis board that it was a really great McDonalds too? Is this correct?

Here is our travel story if you'd like to see it. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=28703349
I'll post more as we go along, but it's mid 80's and humid, not exactly November weather. Tomorrow supposed to be hot also, then the bottom drops out (to a point).
CSR is still beautiful as always. Of course we requested Cabana 9B, and of course, it's kinda getting stuff done to it right now. So I had asked if our room from last year was available. It wasnt, I had booked a standard view, but after smiling right to the young lady working the check in, we got a water view. Now, most people like 1st floor, and they were going to do that, and I kinda frowned and said we like upper floors so we dont have to listen to people above us. Heck, I didnt know CSR casitas had 4 floors :lmao: That's were I'm at and LOVE IT. Beatufil water view that I'll post later. Casita 3 much more on the 'El Centro' end. Hey, I asked for a suite but couldnt smile good enough for that ;).
Ate at pepper market, and got our mugs!!! So here we are!!!
Oh, btw, what exactly is in a wet burrito.. I've seen pics of it, but what's in it??Have a great trip!!
The wet burrito has rice, beans, chicken or steak, tomatoes, lettuce and much more. It's huge, covered in cheese and delicious. :goodvibes

We've scheduled our first stay for March 11-18th. Will the rooms all be remodeled by then? We requested Cabana 9b or 9a for our stay. I've stayed at all the other Moderates this will be our first CSR experience.

I doubt the cabanas will be done by then because I think I read they started with the casitas.

I can not wait for 2010 and all the CSR renovations to be completed !
Why not just ask for the Cabana section and a nice view ? That is what we will do. We have never been disapointed by any room WDW has given us (or Starwood - Dolphin).
When we stayed at the CR, we were bumped from the Garden Wing to the Tower. Our room was on the Chef Mickey side and you could hear the Chef Mickey Celebration song from our bathroom in the AM and PM - but hey we were in the Tower). From our CR Tower room, if you looked down you saw the convention building roof, the bus stop, cars driving in, but if you looked straight across we saw MK fire works, the monoral and some rides in MK.
Maybe it was not the best CR Tower room if you were paying $400/night - but again, we had a great bargain, $250/night for a CR Tower room duing Memorial Day week. :goodvibes We enjoyed every minute of it.
At the Dolphin, we paid for a standard room at an AAA rate. Since we are starwood members and repeat guests - we were bumped to a Wing room which over looked the pools and you could see AK from the room. We also had a balcony - a nice plus. But from the balcony, if you looked up to your right, we saw the base of the Dolphin statue, nice and close. Again we paid $235 for a balcony room in the outside Dolphin Wing, for 12 nights, during Easter weeks, peak time. :goodvibes
So, we let WDW pick our room. Every room may have something bad about it, but let the magic of WDW be your guide and you will enjoy.

I am here now and it is a wonderful resort! This place is so beautiful and so nice and quiet. The beds are so comfortable and plenty of room for a couple that is used to a king. The pool is amazing. I can see why Buzz has been coming here for so long. The buses have been fine for us. We are staying in Casitas 4. The only thing wrong with our stay is that it is too short!!Glad you are enjoying CSR! Can't wait to read your full report!

Just wanted to say "Hello!" We just got back last night. Had a wonderful trip!
Coronado is a beautiful resort! Loved the PM! Bus service was also great!
Sorry Jamey I never got in to meet you. I was always in bed by 10:30::rolleyes:
I loved our location at building 9A however it did NOT have queen beds yet!
We overlooked the quiet pool and that was wonderful. Not to far for bus stop 4, Dig Site or El centro.
Hope everyone has a great trip!Glad you had a great trip!!

I got back from CSR yesterday afternoon, and all I can say is WOW! What an absolutely beautiful resort! We were in casitas 2, ground floor, standard view. CSR is fantastic! I loved how in the mornings people were having breakfast and sipping coffee by the lake, very relaxing! Mousekeeping did a good job, Pepper Market was a lot of fun! We had such a magical trip, no one would believe all the magical things that happened to us. If anyone is celebrating a birthday while in WDW make sure you get your birthday pin and where it everyday. The CM at checkin told my mom to wear her pin, and all of the "Happy Birthday"s from CM's was so nice. Buses were excellent, longest wait was for an Epcot bus on Sunday morning, waited about 23 minutes, no big deal. The parks were barren. MK was a little crowded on Saturday, longest standby I saw was 40 mins for BTMRR and the longest at Epcot was 45 mins for Soarin. Otherwise, it was usually a 5-20 min wait, some rides weren't even using the fastpasses, there was no need to. Thanks to everyone for the advice and tips about CSR...I would stay there again for certain! :cool1:Glad you had a great trip!

I just booked 2 ajoining rooms for my family last night. Any suggestions on what area I should request. I have 2 toddlers and I'm thinking somewhere near a bus stop. But I'm sure they are going to love the pool. And of course somewhere a little quite since they go to sleep around 8pm. Thanks I'm so excited I havn't been to Disney since 2000.

Okay I read an old post from back in 2005 that said at the bakery there are dessert levels and the DDP only covers Level 1 desserts. Is this still the case? I just want to make sure I get what I'm supposed to when putting together my counter service meal at Pepper Market.

We always stay in Casitas 4 or 5 which is near the quiet pool and the fitness center/spa (note, we travel alone as our kids are in college). It takes us five minutes to walk to the main building (food court, gift shop, etc.) and about eight minutes to the main pool.
Sorry....the link didn't work. So I am copying and pasting here what Buzz suggests:
Guest room locations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many guests read or hear about cabana 9b or low numbered casita buildings but not all guests will be able to get a room in those buildings or may need a room in those buildings. These are not necessarily the best locations for every guest, in fact not best for most. (As of 01/2009, cabana 9b will no longer be available as a standard/waterview room building. This building is being converted to CLUB LEVEL rooms.)
For conventioneers the Casitas 1 or 3 are often the best. These are close to the convention center; but quite a distance from pools and bus stops.
For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is exceptional. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both are close to bus stop #2.
For “leisure guests with children” here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the “Dig Site”. Leisure guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the buses twice a day (at least) and the pool often when they are at the resort.
For adults or large families who wish to be close to a park bus stop and to a “quieter pool” but are not interested in the theme pool, building 7a is great and has close proximity to parking.
Building 2 also is close to parking and usually one of the quietest buildings, especially from the 4th floor. The fourth floor of building actually includes part of the upper floors of building 3 and has easy access to the convention center by way of the elevator courtyard of building 1 (especially in a rainstorm).
In other words, there is no “best location for everyone”. Each building has its own plusses and minuses. The cast members will be happy to guide you into the building that fits your needs best……..if you let them know what those needs and expectations may be.
Also, for a reality check…….when there is a large convention……not everyone is going to get a room next to the convention center. In fact, most of the rooming blocks are set up by the group having the convention long before any of the convention guests arrive…… Sometimes, there is little cast member latitude on changing those assignments.
As always, if there are special needs that must be addressed, fax the resort a week before arrival. Be sure you are faxing to the resort and not to Walt Disney Travel Company, their booking agency. The resort cast is best able to accommodate special needs. Often guests call the reservation desk with these requests and do not understand that this is not the resort; but a central reservation desk for ALL of Walt Disney World. The fax number is available by calling Walt Disney World information and asking for the front desk operations fax number.
Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (As of 01/2009, cabana 9b will no longer be available as a standard/waterview room building. This building is being converted to CLUB LEVEL rooms.)
Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).
Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above (9a has a quiet pool).
Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.
Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.
Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views.
Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Anyone have an idea where they currently are with the CSR room renovations and/or their schedule? I have read that all of the CSR rooms now have queen beds (yes!) but have also read that the rooms will be going through complete renovations over the next few months.
Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!
THANKS!

:rotfl2:Not over the next few months, over the next year. They just started in casita 1 on a few floors. This isn't just new bedspreads and borders, they are completely redoing everything in the rooms, including the furniture. It will be awhile before its complete.

I can't believe it's a month away! :)
You know, I just got blasted in another thread for just wondering if the economy will affect crowd levels when I go after Xmas through New Year's. I actually got laughed at. I don't have time to post a lot on here but I read a lot and I have to say, this is one of the friendlier threads so here's where I'm staying! The nerve of some people!
After reading everyone's ideas on where to say, I think I'm just going to let the chips fall. I was thinking of faxing in a request for the Casitas 4 or 5, as Buzz suggests for couples. Maybe I will. But I think it's exciting also to just see where we land when we check in. I have some time to consider I guess. You should fax closer to the check in date right?

If you go in with your attitude, you will be happy anywhere at our favorite resort! Yes, if you decide to fax, we usually do it about three days ahead of time. Have a great trip!!!! :cool1:
It took me all day to read through this read but I have to say, I am very happy with my choice :) I also felt like with the values you have to request a specific part and building to get what you want...but honestly all I want is the top floor somewhere and probably Ranchos, for the quiet factor, however I feel like I should be able to get that anywhere on the top floor here :)
I am so excited and cannot wait for pictures of the refurb come rolling in! I am keeping my fingers crossed that our room in May is a "new" one!

Yeah, I saw that too and mentioned to Buzz. It is still not listed on the "official" dining plan brochure. I called my TA today and she says she has not heard or seen anything that it's been added.

Darn... I got so worried reading that Pepper Market was not going to be on the dining plan that I decided I better change our resort before we had no more choices open to us. I was lucky to get a room on Club level at AKL in my time frame, and I had to fight for them to look for availability, because at first all it showed available was a 1BDRM Suite at $12,000.00 (with dining and tickets)... :scared1: Thankfully they found us a standard Club room at a much better price in the end... but it was hard to get the dates we needed. How does this tie into CSR? Well, I wanted to wait until Jan 01 to see if this rumor was truth or just rumor, but if I had waited I would definitely have been out of luck at AKL. So we bit the bullet and made a "family executive decision" to go back to our first-tried and much-loved-by-all resort! I was really looking forward to trying CSR too, and found so many friendly and helpful people on this thread... I wish the dining indecision had not needed to factor into the equation... in the end it was too important to our family to leave to chance. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out in the end! I would still love to try CSR one day though.:goodvibes

Well, AKL CL is a pretty nice choice for the family executive decision:goodvibes But why not the 1 bdr suite?:rotfl2:
I am really hoping for all Disney Resort guests that enjoy CSR that they will be included in the DDP for 09!
It will be tough for a family to have CS meals if they cannot enjoy them at their resort. I am hoping it is...I am looking forward to our upcoming stay!

I'll think good "no snow" thoughts for you tomorrow! That is, as long as you promise to think them for me in February when I try to leave. :)

Kathy,
We are up in Milwaukee and returned on Saturday from CSR just in time to get the "Winter Storm Alert." Our first real snowstorm but we still had to go back to work and school today.

Wow that room looks awesome!! I REALLY like the decor a lot better than the old style...hopefully they will keep that trend at least. I know standard rooms won't be so fancy looking but that room looks a lot less...well...clashy lol

We are just back from CSR and had a wonderful stay!!! We we checked in at like 8:30 in the morning I was told that my room in Casitas was not ready, but was given the option of switching to one at the back of ranchos that was ready. We werw going into the parks that day so it did not matter to up and we chose to wait. I am so glad we did. We were on the back side of Casitas 2. We had a 1st floor room with very comfy new queen beds. They are really nice pillow top mattresses. I usually don't do well out oif my own bed, but these were great. We had a nice view of the courtyard and a short walk to the bus stop. I was really nice to be the 1st bus stop picked up and dropped off most of the time. We only had to wait more than 10 min for a bus one time when they were short a bus due to mechaical problems. Everyone at the resort was really nice. We ate at the Pepper Market once for dinner and once for bvreafast and both meals we excellent. I developed a sore throat during tyhe trip and the desk staff went out of their way to help me find something to treat it. It was a really great place to stay!!Thanks for sharing!

Hello we just got back from our 9 days at CSR last night. As usual we had a wonderful time. We had a nice room in ranchos 7b. No refurbishing has been done in that section yet but our room was spotless everyday and we were left plenty of soap, shampoo etc. We never waited any longer than 10 minutes for a bus and except for our last day never had to even stand. Excellent bus service! I also wanted to mention for those with children that they now have a good supply of life jackets available for kids at the dig site. This was the first time we had seen this and I haven't read this yet on the thread so I thought I would mention it for those that may have wondered. Another great stay at Coronado and we are already looking forward to next year!Welcome back!

I would like to try this resort some day..the reason I didn't for my trip 9/08 was because my Dad was with me and his legs bother him sometimes. I wanted something not too big and on the monorail. But, I personally don't mind walking and this resort looks beautiful..also a bonus that it looks very similar to a deluxe, in terms of amenities, but at a mod price.:thumbsup2
Hmm, maybe for 2010 or 2011..

I called Dinning reservations yesterday and was told by a CM that CSR is a Disney hotel and that they couldn't "not" participate in the dinning plan? She said they have been added to the plan late each year. I said to her " are you saying I shouldn't worry?" and she said YES! Let's hope she is right! :scared:

The new club rooms are gorgeous. I really hope some of those features make it to the "regular" room...especially the bedding! I think the furniture etc gives the room a more modern look, but still with a touch of SouthWest/Mexico. Good job CSR! :thumbsup2

Just got back late last Saturday night. It has been a busy week and I'm finally getting caught up here.
I can't say thank you enough to everyone here for the wonderful information that helped us decide to upgrade to CSR. It was the best decision we ever made. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED CSR. As DD20 said several times, we can't stay anywhere else from now on. That’s was a unanimous vote.
So much to say… I don't know where to start. I’m probably going to blah blah but we had that good of a time. Please forgive me.
We didn't have a single complaint about anything anywhere. We were upgraded from a standard view room to a water view room. We were in Casitas 1 Room 1280. It was an absolutely perfect location for us. We didn't make any requests as we were not particular where we stayed as long as we were there and we didn't go with any expectations and was excited when we were treated special. The queen beds were so comfy. Mousekeeping was great. The resort was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I'm having a hard time coming back to reality and the real world. None of us wanted to leave.
Oh, the Pepper Market. The food was wonderful and plenty. We had DDP and ate there twice. All the desserts were available with the counter service credit. We were usually so full that we hardly ever thought about our snack credits. We dined in both times and the 10% tip was never included on our bill and we didn’t have to say anything about it. The servers were very nice and accommodating. Back to the food. You know us Cajuns like to eat good food. OMG, it was a lot and really delicious. Between the four of us we were able to try several things and found nothing that we didn't like. DS15 absolutely loved the bourbon chicken so much he ate it twice and wanted to go back for one more shot at it. DH even began feeling better the day before we left. He was able to eat and had no problems the whole week.
We were located in between Bus Stop 1 and 2. It was a little longer walk to Bus Stop 2, but we never had a problem with getting to sit down and the stroll to the Bus Stop was always nice. We'd walk to Bus Stop 2 to go to the parks, and get off at Bus Stop 1 when we came back for a shorter walk. We never waited long for a bus anywhere and only had to stand a couple of times. The longest we waited was about 10 minutes, but we went to Bus Stop 1 to go to the parks and the bus was pretty much full when it arrived. So we had to wait for a second bus and it was completely empty when it arrived.
DH and I’s date was great. …stroll around the lake of course I was taking pictures…a little pampering….a couple drinks in the bar. We really enjoyed it. It was the start of a great week.
How could I forget the decorations. When we arrived, the resort was not decorated. Then one morning everything was there. It was absolutely beautiful.
Considering this was our Almost Wasn’t Vacation (sounds like a good title for a TR) ……. it surely was a spectacular one. I will post some pics soon. Again we thank each of you for helping plan the best just us family vacation.

Considering this was our Almost Wasn’t Vacation (sounds like a good title for a TR) ……. it surely was a spectacular one. I will post some pics soon. Again we thank each of you for helping plan the best just us family vacation.
Thank you for the great trip report. So glad we have another CSR lover among us.
Oh forgot to say that while at WDW DH came up with the idea that the two of us should return for our anniversary in April. :worship: Caught him already researching dates on the computer. :cool1: Maybe another trip to CSR in the spring is on the horizon. pixiedust:
DH and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at the CSR this past September. He had offered me Poly if I wanted it. I told him NO--I want my CSR! Your DH is a smart man!

KatMart yeah he has his smart moments. :rotfl2: I'm glad this is one of them. You see we have never had a real honeymoon and it would be our 21st anniversary. So to want to go back just him and I confirms that he loved being at CSR and WDW. I think everyone in the family wants to be back there right now.
DS515 asked me today if I missed being there. Of course, I said yes. He says me to. Me too. Little things like that let me know that they really enjoyed the trip as much as me.
We had one problem and they took care of it. DD20 bought her BF a beer mug in Germany and had it delivered to CSR. Of course, this was the second mug because the first was engraved wrong. We picked up her package and when we opened the box the mug is broken in half. The CM had a runner go pickup another one with engraving and it was waiting at package pickup for her. They were very accommodating. She was impressed. Third mug was a charm. Just a small bump in the road.

Okay you only have to go to Buzz2001's site to see how beautiful the place is. Yes it is beautiful. Yes The pool is magnificent! Yes it is as close to a deluxe you can get without paying the deluxe prices, and yes the bus service is quick easily accessible. But I have a comment that makes CSR even more wonderful.
My son's appendix ruptured while we were there. We had only been in Disney for 2 days. The staff at the CSR were as close to family as we could have asked for being so far from home. The staff gave us rides to the hospital so that we didn't have to pay for a cab. They did that out of kindness it was not required of them. We had a beautiful get well message with balloons and gifts for our family one day when we returned from the hospital. The cleaning staff checked on our sons progress daily. Unfortunately we needed to leave the resort and move closer to the hospital. But I must say that the kindness the staff at CSR showed our family was above and beyond. It was nice to have so many caring faces during a time that was horrible for us! :lovestruc

Just back from five nights at CSR (followed by three nights at GF). We were in Ranchos 6B, room 6126. I was glad we were on the 1st floor, but our walk to El Centro was long. We had great mousekeeping and the new beds (nice and comfy). The first night we were there, some kids were partying above us. I finally had to call the front desk at 3:45 am (I'm all for kids having fun, but I have my limits). The next day, the front desk told me that those kids were leaving, but they'd be happy to move me if I needed to. Since the kids were leaving, we just stayed in our room.
CSR is a beautiful resort. I don't know that it's my favorite Mod, but it was nice. I've yet to truly be disappointed with any Disney resort though. I love the Pepper Market. And I loved that I could get a Pepper Market refillable mug (rather than the generic YOMD). DH and I put that mug to good use. :)
Anyway, I thought I'd share some of my pictures from my walk on Thanksgiving morning.

We just got back from 7 nights at CSR. I don't have any pics to post yet because I took over 400 pictures of everything while we were there so that will take awhile to get to. I imagine my pics look a lot like everyone else's though.
We were very happy at this resort. We were in 9A room 9128. We had the new queen beds and they were very comfortable. Other than that no rehab had been done to the rooms but they were fine and I feel like our room was always very clean. No towel animals but we weren't expecting it. Our mousekeeper did leave us a nice personal note one day thanking us for the tips, which was just as nice. It took us about 3 min each morning and evening to get to our bus stop, which was bus stop #4. Pepper market and El Centro was about 5 min and that is with 4 and 7 year olds so we weren't exactly speed walking.
While we were there we visited and had meals at the Grand Floridian, Poly, and Contemporary. The grand floridian was gorgeous but bustling and loud and the poly was gorgeous as well. Not a big fan of the contemporary because it reminds me of just a marriott in town. We used bus service from Animal kingdom to Grand Floridian and it took FOREVER and had many stops. we rode the monorail to and from the poly, mK, and contemporary many times and let me tell you some of those lines took longer to get through than it ever took us just to walk from our room to our bus stop and take the bus from CSR to MK. My point here is that although the monorail is fun the lines for it can get so long that we became more and more impressed with CSR transportation. We never waited more than 20 min for a bus and that was usually at night after a parade or wishes. We never had to stand on a bus either although some people at bus stop number one did end up having to stand.
The pepper market was good but not amazing. We had lunch there the first day and it was good and the waitress was great. Dinner there another night was a different story as everyone seemed to be in a very bad mood and the food was subpar. We had takeout there another night that was fabulous so all in all I would rate it as good and necessary but I would have to rethink staying there if Pepper market does not accept the dining plan in the future. We like the basic dining plan for our family and it is necessary to eat the resort at least a few times for us.
All in all we were VERY happy with the resort and wouldn't think twice about staying there again unless they don't take the dining plan. The transportation and lack of crowds at the bus stops were a major selling point for us. The resort is beautiful but we didn't spend hardly any time there. We fit in swimming for one day and the pool was great also.
One more thing. we did have costco deliver water which was a lifesaver. However, we must not have put the note on to not deliver to business services because they did charge us the $24.95 to deliver it to our room. I called package services about it and they said it would never appear on our bill, but the last morning it was still on our bill. No worries though because as soon as I brought it up at checkout they had it off my bill in no time.
I would suggest this hotel to anyone. I would like to stay at the poly someday but I just wasn't as impressed by the transportation there even though I guess I should have been because it is on the monorail. I liked the inside of the poly though but I have to say the quietness of CSR and ease of transportation will bring me back year after year. When the kids are teenagers and I am able to hang out at a resort all day and make it worth it I might upgrade to the poly or GF but for now CSR will be my first choice.

Welcome back, Debbie, and thanks for posting. So glad you enjoyed your stay at CSR! I agree about the Contemporary and GF, etc.--too crowded and too much action for us. I can understand your thinking if the dining plan is not offered, especially with little ones. As we are just two adults, we can eat anywhere so it doesn't make a difference. I'm glad to see so many people who have had recent visits to CSR have enjoyed their stays. :)

Heya to everyone.
O.k I am a bit puzzled.
So far we have stayed at POP, CBR and POR and everyone of those resorts includes hot chocolate in their mugs.... why doesn't CSR?
So, now I am thinking that I should pack some hot chocolate packages. I know the 4 kids will all want hot chocolate every night with their swim. At march break I would be the one to run and fill the mugs with hot chocolate before they all got out of the pool....it was a nightly ritual. A couple of us who really dislike the disney coffee even went on hot chocolate for the duration of our stay.
This is the second time this week I have questioned our choice of csr over CBR, I really hope I don't regret this choice.
Are we totally sure that hot chocolate isn't allowed in the mugs?

I'm not sure whether CSR includes hot chocolate or not--we don't drink it. You must remember that Pepper Market, Rix, etc. are NOT owned by Disney--they are owned by outside vendors. Here is the official wording on refillable mugs: The refills are available from the beverage dispensers and usually include: coffee, sodas, ice tea, and hot chocolate.

One more thing....
I requested casita 4 or 5 top floor....is this where the construction is at the moment??? I wonder if I should call and change that to Casita 1-3 top floor.
or ask about the construction and pool closure first and then re-think my request?
ugggggh..... maybe I am just panciking 2 weeks out. Should I wait until closer and see what gets posted about re-habs etc.....:confused3

Just found this thread! Subscribing as I just booked a 9 day 8 night stay at Coronado for next June! (The 16th through the 24th) :goodvibes
We have never stayed at this resort before, and are really looking forward to it. My only concern is the size, and where we are eventually going to wind up building wise. Staying with my wife, daughter 6, and Son, who will be 8 months at the time.
I can't wait! The place looks, very, very cool. We have stayed at two other mods up to this point, CBR and POFQ and love them both. Hoping to add to that feeling the end of next June!

Well, seeing that you've stayed at POFQ you know that it is a very small resort. And since you've stayed at the CBR, you will know what to expect of the CSR...a large resort. But the CSR is smaller than the CBR.
Depending on what you want to be close to--food, pool, etc., read this thread from Buzz's website:
Guest room locations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many guests read or hear about cabana 9b or low numbered casita buildings but not all guests will be able to get a room in those buildings or may need a room in those buildings. These are not necessarily the best locations for every guest, in fact not best for most. (As of 11/2009, cabana 9b will no longer be available as a standard/waterview room building.
(As of 11/2008, cabana 9b will no longer be available as a standard/waterview room building. This building is being converted to CLUB LEVEL rooms.)

DebbieGreat review! Thanks for sharing!!

I am slowly getting back on the boards!!!!! I knew that I had neglected a few things before we went, but I had no idea how much!:rolleyes1 I am almost caught up! Guess I was too excited planning our trip!
We had a wonderful stay at CSR. Beautiful resort & we couldn't have asked for a better view! We looked across the lake at El Centro & could watch the sun go down. Amazing!
Every CM we encountered was wonderful. (this includes all the parks & other restaurants as well) Our room was clean & the queen beds were very comfy. We also had a corner room - so 2 windows!!!!:woohoo: It was great.
The morning after we checked in, my oldest DS woke up very sick. My DH took him to an Urgent Care (by the way, it was a complimentary shuttle that the urgent care offered) & he had strep throat! What a bummer!:guilty: My youngest DS & I continued on with our day since we had 2 dining reservations at DHS that day. After that day, I just switched around a couple of our play days so that he could rest for another day & wound up going back to DHS later in the week so that we could all be there together.
I am very ashamed to say that I did not make it up to meet Jamie. :sad2: I had every intention of doing so, but there were several nights that we were in bed by 9:00 pm. - getting enough sleep for the next day. She was such a huge help with our planning & I really wanted to meet her. Guess I will just have to plan another trip so that I can meet her!
It was an incredible trip & I can't believe that it was a month ago yesterday that we left!
Thanks to Buzz, Kathy & the rest of the CSR crew for helping us to chose this resort. We couldn't have been happier. Thanks for posting!! Glad you enjoyed your stay at CSR!!

Well, we made it and i really enjoyed Coronado. Our rooms were nice. We stayed in Casita's 3. We used bus stop 4 or 2. Felt it was same distance. The crowd level wasn't bad at all during this week. So the bus stops weren't crowded at all. Even at the bus stop in the front of the center. Our clerk who checked us in was so nice. One thing I did notice was there were not a lot of kids. There was a convention going on but even that wasn't an issue. I found Coronado very quiet and peaceful. Would recommend it very much. Thanks Katmark and Buzz for all your info that you gave. It helped !!Glad you had a great trip!!

We stayed in Ranchos 6B room 6502, 1st floor. We had the new queen beds & they were very comfy. Loved having 3 pillows per bed! Bus stop #3 was behind us & very easy to get to, less than a minute to walk to. Walking to the main area was not bad either, maybe 5-10 minutes. This is a beautiful resort & I would have no problem staying here again.

We're here now... we checked-in on Monday morning... and check out in a few more days. The resort looks fantastic! We have two rooms- when we checked-in on monday we went to our adjoining rooms in casitas 5 only to find that the family who had had them prior to us must have smoked like chimneys. DH is not terribly sensitive to cigarette smoke and even he thought they were horrendous. A quick call to the front desk, and they got us moved to Casitas building 4 in no time... rooms next to each other.
We have eaten at the Pepper Market twice- once for breakfast- DH and I split the breakfast burrito platter and had more than enough (very good!). Three of us ate there for lunch yesterday- food was fantastic- but thank god we have the dining plan. I would strongly caution those just eating here as a quick service meal and paying OOP. The total bill for the three of us (3 entrees, 3 desserts, 3 soft drinks) was $72.02-- of course for us all it did was deduct 3 quick service meals from the DDP. Had that BEEN the bill for the three of us- I think I would have fallen over. BTW-- food was EXCELLENT, and we will be using another quick service meal there again today.
All of the CM's we've encountered have been more than wonderful. The room is clean, housekeeping is great. The quiet pool here in Casitas is closed for the week, but we swam yesterday at the main pool for a couple of hours. One great CM even did about 1/2 hr of "Disney trivia" poolside. So much fun!!!
Much, much more to come... but we're heading out to DTD for a little while until this line of storms pass- then it's off to EPCOT and Ohanas tonight for dinner. Pictures also to come... I must have taken 100 of CSR alone!

We stayed at CS from 11/27 - 11/29. I love the resort but our first day started off not so well. I usually never have any complaints, but here it goes.
We arrived about 1pm and were told that our room was ready. I believe it was in the Rancheros section. We were not given anything except for our room keys, but new we should have been given a welcome pack. We strolled out to our rooms. About 5 minute walk. When we entered the room it was still dirty and the beds not made. No biggy until my wife says there are still bags in the room and stuff in the bathroom.
So I call down to guest services and explain the problem. They started asking me if the bags were unpacked or if looked like the guest were leaving. Now that is not my problem to find out what’s going on. So I sat on the phone for 10 minutes while they tried to resolve the issue.
I had to tell the CM that figure out what you need to do while I come back to the check in counter. I am not going to stay in someone's room while they figure this out. It was a privacy thing for me.
The walked back now sucks as it is a little walk and it’s for nothing.
Once we arrived they lady stated she was sorry, but the computer says its ready and she can't do anything about that. I was the second person this happened to today so far. The room still said it was ready when we arrived back. A manager overheard the conversation and stated "That’s not like Disney" and that was it.
We got a new room closer, 9A building. We went out for awhile and came back about 9pm. Our bags have not arrived from ME. I called the front desk and they said someone had checked the bags out at 12:30. They said they needed sometime to find them.
A bellman showed up at 9:30 with the bags and stated that the bags were in the old room. Either the other party wasn't there to see them or they were dopes and left them in their room.
So the next day this made me nervous as to what if someone walks into our room while we are gone. I had to worry about passports and stuff. You’re thinking safe right? Well no key. We had to wait a few hours for a key to be made.
After this debacle everything else went smoothly. I think they could have handled this a little better.
Hey Buzz2001, we live in the same town. 1st time seeing someone on this site in my home town.

I'm finally getting my photos uploaded. It took forever. Here's a few photos for Thanksgiving. CSR was not decorated when we arrived then one day it was all decorated like magic. We enjoyed that. Here's a few photos of the decorations.

Sorry it was 9A. The bellman let me into a room that was re-done. I should of took pictures, but the room wasn't clean from the last party. The furniture is all dark wood. The cabinet that holds the TV is gone and an LCD TV is on the wall. That is all I remembered. I took less pictures this time since I always feel chained to the camera on every vacation. I wish I took more.

Here (hopefully) are some pics of the newly renovated rooms. There is a lot of dark wood in the room so some are kind of dark. I tried to lighten as best as I could so you see everything.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h174/jalynn1976/Disney%2008/coronado0001.jpg
There is a light above the bed. The headboard is wooden as well with carved detail and I believe there is also some leather type of padding on it as well.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h174/jalynn1976/Disney%2008/coronado0002.jpg
Flat screen tv with dvd player underneath. There is an ice bucket with glasses and a coffee maker with coffee mugs as well. The refrigerator is pretty good sized as well.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h174/jalynn1976/Disney%2008/coronado0003.jpg
I'm not sure if the bathroom was renovated or not. The handle on the shower didn't want to seem to shut off so it seemed like it had been new and maybe not just broken in yet? :confused3
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h174/jalynn1976/Disney%2008/coronado0004.jpg
The large dark wooden panels on either side of the doorway are actually sliding doors that close for privacy in the sink/bathroom area.
The room had a very updated contemporary look to it. I loved it. It wasn't overly themed yet subtle touches of Spanish culture remained in the deco. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2Thanks for posting the pics and glad you enjoyed CSR!!

Hi all!
This is just a report of another instance where Coronado Springs CMs and Mousekeeping went way above and beyond......
I just finished speaking with my sister-in-law asking her how her trip to Disney went from 12/3 to 12/7. She lives in Connecticut and I live in Maine and she had told me that she and my 15-year old niece would be going down with their High School Cheerleading Squad to march in the taping of the Christmas Day Parade on Sat 12/6. I had asked her where they were staying and she had told me she was not sure which resort they were booked with as the school had made the arrangements. Well, when I talked to her this afternoon, much to my surprise (and delight) she told me they stayed at Coronado. She said they all had rooms in the Ranchos section. They had a great uneventful trip up until Friday night (the night before the parade taping) when a few of the girls came down with a stomach flu. Two of the girls had to go to the hospital via ambulance. She told me that the CORONADO STAFF WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP THEM... mousekeeping came and cleaned their rooms and when another got sick... came and cleaned again and again! She was VERY pleased with the resort AND staff! So, kudos again to the Coronado staff!!!!!!!!Of course, the staff at CSR is terrific! Kudos to them!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Well how do I say this, I know there are a lot of CSR fans here but it wasn't for us. Sorry Buzz, I know you love it.
There where plenty of great things about the resort.
-Pepper Mill, I hated it.......................................... until I got use to the system. Now I wish they were all like that.
-Laguna Bar beside the lake is a great place to sit and have a drink at the end of the day. If Mother Nature co-operates that is.;)
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/lowerider/Disney4017.jpg
- Maya Grill, ate there three times, twice for dinner and once for breakfast, never had a bad meal, can't say that for many other places on property.
-Rix Lounge is also a nice place to sit back, relax and have a drink since they closed down my favorite night time place PI. I think I drink too much on vacation. I see a pattern here. UH OH:eek:
-The Dig Site has to be the best main pool area I have seen on property to date. I remember walking through one night and it was cold, 10C, sorry I don't know the American temp, jacket cold, steam rising from the surface cold. There were a bunch of kids having a ball on the slide, oh to be that young again.:rotfl:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/lowerider/Disney12013.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/lowerider/Disney4018.jpg
-Our room location and view was the best we have ever gotten. It was not a new room but fine none the less.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/lowerider/Disney12022.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/lowerider/Disney12023.jpg
-Mousekeeping was not that great but that is not a resort specific thing. With our trips we are running 50% on Mousekeeeping.
-The best bus service we have had, a little thing we found out was to get picked up on the bus stops out back for the parks. Usually fill by the time you get to the front. DTD go to the front because it's the first stop for that bus.
- It is a beautiful resort and the attention to detail is amazing as any Disney property is.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/lowerider/Disney4013.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/lowerider/Disney4015.jpg
So why is it not for us...
I have been having a hard time putting a finger on it but Amy came up with the only thing I can use to discribe it in writing. For us it was not very intimate ?? The place is vast and I thought Riverside was big! But then again Riverside Mansions is not my thing either. Only AB for me.
Maybe it is the love you have for a first car, dog or Disney Moderate Resort:lmao: . You had great memories of them and nothing will live up to those no matter how hard you try. I mean no one can understand my love for my old 85 OLDS 442 or how to this day I try and not compare any dog to my first dog, a smart Collie/ Sheppard mix, but I still do.
So as with everything on this site try it once, just because it wasn't for us doesn't mean it's not for you. Thanks for sharing!!

Was at CSR for a National Chess Championship with my DS 7 (he did awesome btw)
We got one of the brand new rooms in Cabanas 9b. Definitely going to be one of the new club rooms with wooden sliding doors to the sink area, granite counters, flat screen TV. High end bedding... I was in heaven!
Convention facilities were excellent for well over 1200 kids and their parents. Never felt too crowded. I will say cell reception was spotty, especially if you have a wireless card. Made it difficult to follow some of the matches online.
Kids swam in the heated pool even though temps were low.
Was not impressed with the Pepper Market. My son and I shared a waffle, cup of strawberries and a juice, $22.
The Rix cafe the next AM had veggie quiche and an egg and cheese sammie for much more reasonable amount. You can just grab it and go.
Loved this resort and the tournie will be back there in 2010. So will we!Thanks for sharing!!

Hi everyone!
We've been here for 8 wonderful nights in a newly redone room located on the top floor of Casita 1, and sadly we must head back home tomorrow. I'll be giving a full report soon with lots of pics, but I wanted to let everyone know that the temporary fence around the Casita quiet pool was removed today, the rehab is complete, and it's open for use!
BTW - CSR is a strikingly BEAUTIFUL resort! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, and every CM we've talked to has been extremely courdial and helpful in every way!:cloud9:
Here's a few pics now. Sorry they're a little big. I'll resize them later when I have more time.

That's it for now. We've got to get ready to go to EMH at the MK tonight. Our last big HURRAH before we have to leave tomorrow. (Oh, and crowds have been between moderate and moderately heavy. Nothing too bad, but Fastpasses are needed for the more popular attractions unless you want to stand in line for an hour or two.)Thanks for sharing!

Ok... Just got back from 6 nights @ CSR and 3 nights @ POR. I have to say I LOVED CSR. We stayed in Cabanas and the resort was beautiful. I did not find the walk to the food court or the main pool a problem at all. The staff were very friendly. We had the best mousekeeper, Mary Ann, who left towel animals and played hide and seek with my kids' toys. We were on the dining plan so the Pepper Market was a great deal for counter service. The themed pool was wonderful. And queen beds....:thumbsup2 I am in love with this resort.
Not so enthused about POR. The resort is pretty. We were in Alligator Bayou. The biggest problem was the distance of the parking lot to our building. I don't mind walking but when dragging around a bunch of luggage it can be frustrating. It definitely felt like the walk to the main pool and food court was much longer here.
We still had a great time and will definitely be staying at CSR again.

I'll save you all the photos, because the ones above are just fine! We just got back and my review is probably mixed. As for the negatives, before I get get flamed, I knew what I was getting into before we went..No suprises there.
We took airtran, my first time, and were very pleased. Had heard of them changing flight times, and even spoke with someone at the pool who had their flight changed 3 times. Never changes ours once, and we booked in july. 2 hours on the nose, and mco was easy as usual. We did have to wait an unusually long amount of time for the DME bus. Probably 20 minutes or so, not long enough to check how long, if you know what I mean, but definitely longer than last time. Our baggage took close to the 4 hour mark to get delivered. Made me think to bring more carry on stuff..I still get irked at how long it takes to get off the plane with all the people getting their carry on's (a pet peve of mine) so..maybe joining the dark side in the future on that one.
I had used the AAA discount to book at about 109 a night. Great price, and as I said, I know how they block rooms for AAA, etc..so i knew what I was getting into. Parking lot view, on the backside of building 4. The room was not remodeled. Because we had kids, they may have been more comfortable with the old setup than the new. I like the new, though..as pretty as polynesian (where we stayed last time)..the old wasnt bad. Not as tacky as POR. Considering how 'dead' the resort was, I may have been able to get an upgrade had I asked..who knows, didnt bug me so much. Easy access to the busstop (2) very short wait for epcot bus..
Check in was very smooth. I told the clerk I needed to rent a car in the morning and a ride to the car. She said to check with concierge for assistance in the morning. Very pleasant young lady.
However, she said "the quiet pool is right outside to the right" or something, but failed to mention (to my HORROR(LOL)) that it was being refurbished, or worked on, either way it was closed. She never mentioned it. That had me a little irked. She could have said nothing, rather than tell me about the pool, only to find it closed (thats what i was thinking at the time) It was open by the 2nd day of our trip, so theres a bonus, but it was a little cooler than the dig site pool, which we preferred anyway.
The resort, after being at POLY, was REAAAALLLLY spread out. I had to think that was to keep the kids away from the conventioners..(thats what I thought at the time) But, very courteous drivers often asked to give us a lift. So..again, nothing major.
Our mousekeeping was top notch. Maria C (i wont list her last name) did a supurb job.
I didnt care for the fact that the a.c. is so quiet, but it was very efficient. I like a little noise when i sleep, but few people would say that..i did like that it was central, gave us more room, and I didnt have to keep kicking the a.c. as I walked by it like other places.
The fridge had a thermostat on it, but was off when we arrived (for obvious reasons)..the poly's have the thermostats removed, so this was a plus.FROZE my pops..
Agreed, hard to use the mug, when you have to walk a mile to get it filled..
Now..for the 'best food court on property'..horse pucky. The snack bar and pepper mill are horrible. How could ANYONE pay nearly 10 bucks for a ham sandwhich? How would ANYONE pay 10 bucks for a 8x5 piece of sheet cheese pizza in a box under a heat lamp? Not me..I found the pepper mill to be too cramped, muddled with barrels and displays. I found the attendants to be innattentive and aloof. I walked in for takeout, got 4 meals at different stations, and not ONE of them asked to stamp my card. The manager was not pleased when he found this out at the register. Being in the food industry, and hearing 'best foodcourt' I really expected more. I thought the prices were outrageous (which I knew going in) but more irritating was the innattentive attitude of the employees. Its pretty simple, when someone comes to your kiosk or counter, you say "what would you like", the person orders, you make the plate, stamp the ticket and say have a magical day. Not difficult. Virtually every time i went into that pepper mill ( a total of 4 times) I had to call the person over (after waiting a fair amount of time)..sometimes I just gave up and walked away, and they made no attempt to keep me from doing so. Overall, the Pepper mill and the snack bar area were a bust for us. Decent breakfast on the last day.
Another issue I had was the morning I went to rent the car. I went to concierge and said, I need to get a cab to the Palace Hotel to rent my car, where can I get a cab? She said 'go outside and tell them.' verbatim. Who is them? I dunno..Well, I said thank you and the concierge attendant told me "youre welcome, I guess.." which I didnt know what she meant by that..i know if i said something like that I'd be looking for a job. So, i looked at her a moment to see if I had done something, and she turned her back on me, so I dont know what her gig was, but the folks outside were able to get me a cab pronto, and I was back from the Palace within the hour. Very well done. The cab (which was checker cab per the burnbaum guide) was nearly 20 bucks for a 3.7 mile ride, which may be reasonable, I thought it was a little steep, since with the tip it was 20 bucks..but again, i coulda rented from the car care center for a free trip, but the car would have been more..so there's that..no surprises..
Game room, fair..not a huge selection and some of the games were broke, but i didnt bring my older ones, so it suited the younger ones well. They did enjoy the pool, and I loved the hot tub and lounge area. Manager was very nice as well..
(Here's where I really get flamed!) We are smokers. DSA's are sacred ground for us. Coronado makes a way better attempt than POR (where we've also stayed) to keep things clean by putting ashtrays everywhere. Basically, anywhere at POR where we saw cigarette butts, at Coronado we saw ashtrays. And it didnt always coincide with the DSA. That can be a little misleading. (do i get a room charge if I smoke here? there IS an ashtray..) maybe annoying to non-smokers, but convenient for me, and it kept things clean. I shouldnt smoke anyway, so dont flame me..
At one time in my life, I was a landscaper. I did not appreciate that the landscapers edged out the WHOLE resort, before blowing it off. The workers need to stay together and complete an area as they go. Not leave virtually EVERY sidewalk covered in dirt before you blow. It also makes it easier to blow if people havent walked on it. So, clean as you go and stay together guys..
Well, thats it for now. Again, no real surprises here. Not the best resort for kids, but they do try, with the great pool and dig site area. Its a bit far, but not if you get a lift..The resort isnt really geared towards kids, and I booked it before I decided to take the kids, so it was make do..if you will. But again, overall not bad..probably go to pop or all stars next..cuz Im always lookin to save a buck, which is why im pretty forgiving..i live 'you get whatcha pay for.' I would recommend this resort for couples or conventioners. Which I think is what its geared toward anyway. It would certainly explain how they can get those prices for the food (conventioners, save you receipts for reimbursement)..
That food court, though, no one should have anything good to say about it. I thought it was pretty bad.
That said, flame away!
and..HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!:hippie:

We just arrived home today from 4 wonderful nights at CSR. It was just as amazing as I remembered. The Christmas decorations were beautiful too!
When we checked in, I asked for a renovated room. One in Casitas 3 was available. I was so excited. The CM checking me in asked how I knew about it, since they had only recently started the renovations. I said the DisBoards and Buzz's website :) She laughed and said she use to work at Allears.
The room was absolutely beautiful. I loved all the new furniture and the new tv. The beds were super comfy too. I was VERY happy.
We didn't eat in the Pepper Market, but the pastries available at the store beside it were very tasty! They had HUGE things to choose from. A wonderful use of snack credits!
The bus service was really great. Maybe we just timed it right, but we didnt wait more then 10 minutes for anything.
We spent time at the main pool and the casitas pool. Both were very nice. It was a little bit chilly in the quiet pool when we were there, but that was to be expected.
I was very sad to leave it this morning. My DBF has only ever stayed at deluxes prior to this visit, and he was very happy with everything about CSR. Next time I go back, I will definitely consider staying here again! Thanks for all your tips and information. You helped make it a great stay!

As I said, our stay at CSR was truly FABULOUS! The CMs were wonderful, and although I know that some have reported less than magical CMs at the Pepper Market, we had nothing but the nicest Pepper Market CMs. (Although we did see a few less than magical guests at the Pepper Market, actually fighting over who was in line first. That was kinda funny in a dumb sort of way.)
Everything was clean and neat, the landscaping really is gorgeous, and the walk around the lake is quite relaxing and pretty. We made that walk a few times actually, going to and from the pool. Since we were in Casita 1, we'd walk to the pool going past El Centro and across the bridge in front of the Cabanas, then we'd return by going past Casita 5 and back around to Casita 1.
We were very fortunate to receive a newly renovated room, and it was lovely.

Wow, those are huge toiletry bottles! LOL! Are they in every room? Is it shampoo/conditioner/body wash, etc? This could save me from packing that stuff! I know I must sound silly but the usual small, cheap bottles of that stuff usually doesn't cut it for me. Those look cool!
I wonder if I should request a renovated room when I get there? I have a king bed room so maybe it will be a reasonable request? What do you guys think?

Just back from Casita 1 12/14-12/19 and we had the lotion, shampoo and conditioner but NOT the body wash or toothbrush. We were not in a renovated room. I didn't know about the renovated Casita 1 rooms, so I wasn't at all disappointed that I didn't get one!

Just back from our stay 12/14-12/19 (plus 3 days at ASM) and we had a great stay!
We were in Casita 1 (sent a fax and received our request). Great location to El Centro. Although the bus stop was quite a distance in either direction, we were able to park our rental car very close to our room. Since we traveled with our elderly in-laws, it was very convenient to drive to the parks. We had a parking lot view, but honestly we aren't the type to sit by the window to enjoy a view! For us, not worth an extra price. Our room was clean and had queen sized beds.
All of the CM's we encountered were very helpful and pleasant, including the Pepper Market. The food we had was good. My FIL had the chicken wings, and I think they use Franks Red Hot sauce on those bad boys. They were soooo good! (What calories?) We didn't have the dining plan. I heard some people griping behind me in line to pay about the wait they were experiencing to pay. It didn't seem like an extreme wait to me, so I was reminded of how peoples perceptions differ.
Luckily the weather warmed up by 20 degrees the last few days of our trip and we were able to play in the pool! The Casita pool was FREEZING! We hung out there long enough to get a load of laundry done. We promptly went to the dig site, where the pool is heated! What a great time! The pool slide is great! In the evening we headed to the hot tub. Nice and big, lots of families had the same idea...but there was plenty of room!
We have stayed at CSR a few years ago, and really enjoyed our stay in the Ranchos section. This visit, I actually wondered why we have stayed anywhere else. Even with a parking lot view and a non-renovated room, this visit was purely magical. We absolutely loved it!
Thanks BUZZ and Kat and all of you DIS'ers for all of the info!!:grouphug:

We were there the 14th-17th and unfortunately didnt have the best luck with pepper market, but everything else was fabulous about the resort. I looooved the hot tub! I was just getting that " ive been squinting all day and havent eaten much and burned off every calorie I ate dad can I have a dollar can we swim Im thirsty headache" so the tub was fabulous. Played volleyball with my wife and 6 year old which I never did before, and watched football on tv outside next to a pool, which Ive never done. It really was a great time.
I expected more wildlife, but Ive never been to Fla in December..Being from the north, with the snow, the christmas feel was just not there for me, and the decorations seemed out of place, but thats just me..I was trying to escape the snow, and thats just what I did at 104 degrees in the tub outside!:cloud9:

You know how you plan and plan and plan for months and suddenly it's here...and I feel so unprepared! LOL! I've absorbed so much over the past 6 months and now I feel like I've forgotten everything! :scared:
I think I'm just going to see what room they place us in. It's the one part of my trip that I won't control. LOL The only preference that I could think of is to be closer to a bus stop. I just don't know if it's worth requesting? :confused3
I've been scrambling to get stuff done for Xmas and also finalize things for the trip, I feel so overwhelmed. But everyone's pictures have helped a lot. I will post a report when I get back. :santa:
Thanks to everyone for all their input, etc! Happy Holidays (just in case I don't get on here before I leave).

Hi everyone, wanted to give a review of our stay at CSR from December 5th-13th. All I can say is AMAZING. We went with a very picky party of 13 and EVERYONE loved CSR! We faxed room requests five days before our arrival that specified the health issues of two members of our GG and asked for rooms close to El Centro. When we arrived at CSR we braced ourselves, knowing CSR was sold out and there were two conventions, but CSR exceeded our expectations. We stayed in adjoining rooms on the first floor of Casitas 3 with a lovely view of the lake. The quiet pool was right around the corner, but it was being refurbished. No big deal though, as Floridians it was only warm enough to swim once so off to the Dig Site we went. We had three children in our GG and they loved CSR too. No worries about it being "not Disney enough." Grab a refillable mug with Donald Duck on it and turn on Channel 18! I only ate at Pepper Market once, around ten at night. There were no crowds and my grilled chicken sandwich was YUMMY. Rix was great for a quick treat - I recommend the eclair! We only used the bus once. The busses came very quickly and the ride to Magic Kingdom was a breeze. Our wait for a return bus was only about five minutes. The rest of the time we drove, with Epcot, Dis Studios and Downtown Disney no more than a five minute drive from our parking lot. We LOVED Siesta's at the Dig Site. The finger food was so good and we were able to grab drinks from the bar or use our refillable mugs. The Lagoon Bar was a great place to wind down. I grabbed a soft drink from Rix and joined my party on the comfy chairs. You could see Wishes to the left and the higher Illuminations fireworks to the right. CSR really is the ultimate vacation resort.
There was one not-so-good thing that I want to bring to your attention. A little backstory: I booked a Candlelight Processional Package months ago. A stomach virus hit a few members of our GG and we had to change the ressie from 7 people to 4. Unfortunately, we did this at Guest Services at Disney Studios. They cancelled our original ressie, as policy states, but we couldn't make a new ressie without a credit card. Having just gotten off TOT/RnR, I had given my bag to another member of our party to hold. The CM assured us there were plenty of tables left at San Angel Inn and that we would have no problem making a new ressie. When we got back to CSR we grabbed our mugs and headed to Rix. I decided to stop at the Concierge and ask them to book a new package (had the Visa this time). We waited in line and were prompted by an older gentleman (I won't say his name), of average height with glasses. He was very sweet but when I explained the situation he looked me in the eye and said "Oh no, those have been sold out for months." I shook it off and called Disney Dining from the room the next morning. I got a table, no problem, I was offered a barage of times...1:40, 1:50, 2:00 etc. Then later we were at Siesta's. We got into a convo with another family when their father arrived looking bewildered. He handed his wife an envelope and said, "they had planty of seats!" His wife explained that they tried to get 6 Cirque Du Soleil tickets for the weekend, but the same concierge said, "No, that's always sold out. Next time you come, get tickets in advance. And six together is impossible." Not so, as the man was able to get his tickets by going to the box office. Not to say this man is lazy or incompetant, just beware of the Concierge who refuses to consult his computer!
That is my one and only complaint. We loved CSR so much, we're going back soon for a weekend retreat! I really want to thank KatMark and JamesLynn for all their help. And thanks to everyone on this board who answered my wacky questions! Happy Holidays to all and a Safe, Happy and Healthy New Year, too!Welcome back and thanks for sharing!

Hi all!
I'm finally able to post a review of our stay at CSR from 12/7 to 12/13. We where a Grand Gathering of 10 and had three rooms. We had requested the Cabana section, but we didn't get that section....and we could not be happier! We ended up in Casitas 3 on the first floor (3114,3115 & 3116), 2 of the rooms where ready when we checked in at 11:00am. We had a beautiful courtyard view and a covered walk all the way to the main building. Our Mousekeeper for the week (Anna) was the best. Everynight, my two DS's (6 & 5) could not wait to get back to the room to see what she left for us ( imagaine a big stuffed Pluto surrounded by toilet paper!). Don at the concierge desk was wonderful when I realized that the Brown Derby messed up our groups dinning credits. I will be sending a message along to CSR about the two of them. The bus service for CSR was pretty good. Only twice (at the MK) did we wait longer than 10 minutes for a bus back to the resort. The longest we waited for a bus was from the AK to the Beach Club...45 minutes!! I don't understand how a deluxe resort can have such bad bus service. We ate at the Pepper Market once for lunch...best burger I've had in a long time. Our last morning we ate at the Maya Grill for breakfast. The food was pretty good. All in all, we loved everything about the resort and will most likely stay there again! I will definatly recomed it to anyone going who wants to stay in a Moderate!! Thanks to Buzz and JamesLynn for all there info! Once I get onto Photobucket, I will post some of the pictures I took!Welcome back and thanks for posting! Glad you enjoyed your trip to CSR!!

Here are some long anticipated pics of business club level lounge at CSR. Again, this lounge will not be available to leisure guests at this time. The opening of the club level rooms is still on hold.
