WOW those are some AMAZING photos!
I need all your expert help -
I live here in FL which sometimes is a curse when it comes to Disney ressies.
I am surprising my nieces :dance3: and sneaking off to Disney Aug 3rd thru 5th with them.
Last minute fun before school starts. We have 2 connecting rooms at Coronado Springs - does that mean I'll be in a certain bldg?
Any suggestions as to bldg's I should ask for? I've never stayed there so I am totally in the dark.
Thanks for any help.

All the buildings have connecting rooms. As to which building you want ato be in, it depends on what you want to be close to as to what you request.

Hi Buzz, love you website! Just curious if you know or if anyone else knows why the bridge path way through the trees in the back area by the Ranchos section was taken out.
I remember my first visit to CSR back in 2000 and strolling through it at night, I have a few pictures of it... I think the last time I saw it was in 2003/2004?
Not sure if my description is good enough for you to know what I'm talking about? :confused3
Edit. Actually on your CSR map on your site, it shows the pathway Im talking about.

I have booked two water view rooms and asked for connecting rooms, what chances are there of getting them? Also which buildings are more likely (though not as important as the connecting room bit)

A water view would mean a room that has a view of the lake or a pool and possibly a fountain but not totally sure about that. And where they put could also depend on how busy the hotel is as well. Linda :)

PART ONE!!!
This was our first trip to WDW. DH, DS's 13 and 9 and me from OKLAHOMA!
We checked in at 3:20 pm on Wednesday, July 16. I had asked to be in Cabana's 9B. We got 8B....at first I thought I would be sad but it turned out to be great. We had a water view with a great view! Our room was ready so off we went but not with out our 1st Disney Trip pins and 2 Happy Anniversary Pins for me and the hubby! We got a great big HOLA from Danny at the desk.
We were all so excited and asking so many questions...We forgot and Danny forgot to write down our room number so I had to call the front desk when we got to the cabana area...:rotfl2:
Very excited to get out of the car...It's a long way from OKLAHOMA

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/OU1247/DISNEY/Disney2008418.jpg
The room was very very clean! I moved the chairs away from the table and stacked a suitcase on them and one on the table. I put mine on the Fridge and my hubby kept his stuff in the bathroom dressing area. Plenty of space for all. We moved the coffee pot, glasses and ice bucket and put it on top of the TV Cabinet for more space...Worked out great.

One of the best tips I learned on this board was to take a POWER STRIP w/ you. We took 2. I plugged them in under the window and it it gave us tons of room for charging the 1000 things you have to charge these days.:thumbsup2
We quickly got our suits on and off to the pool...YIKES RAIN! We talked to some people who said it had rained a lot the past week but it was to clear off and it did. However you could set your watch to the 3pm shower. The Lifeguards let you swim in the rain...just not if there is lightning.

PART 2!
Most days we were at a park at rope drop...the buses were very nice, and prompt. We did drive our car a few days just so we could "see" a bit more of the area. We were at Bus Stop 4 a very quick and easy walk from our room 8501. We would then come back around 1--1:30 and hit the pool until the 3 pm show would come..
My boys loved the Dig Site pool and Slide. I Loved the slide. I think I did it as much as they did! However there is no photo evidence...:rolleyes1

We did not do the Disney Dinning Plan. We are not that big of eaters and didn't want our first trip to revolve around food so we did eat at the Pepper Market several times. Each day the food was great. My kids loved the alfredo and my youngest loved "making" his own sandwich. The pizza was very good as well. Even though Salami and Swiss was not an option...they made it for him and he felt special.
We ate there several times. WARNING...DO NOT ATTEMPT to eat the Wet Burrito by yourself.....

The views of this resort are just amazing. My husband and I would put the kids to bed (we felt safe leaving them alone for a short time locked in the room)...Go and get a drink from Maria at the Luna Bar...SHE ALWAYS REMEMBERED WHAT WE WANTED FROM THE FIRST DAY ON!!! She makes an AMAZING RUM RUNNER! She even wrote down her recipe for me. We would talk to a few people around the bar. We met some amazing folks from Baltimore, Ireland (they were spending 20 days at CSR...LUCKY) and New York.
Hubby at the Bar
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/OU1247/DISNEY/Disney2008296.jpg
We would then walk down to the hammock right in front of our Cabana Area and relax before going to bed. The stars, trees and CSR made for an amazing end of the day. The hammocks are so nice. I fell asleep twice w/ the hubby waking me up! Not a bad way to end a day.
My Hammock..I miss it.

There were Lizards in the bushes and the kids thought that was fun. Good think I never saw one in my room....
Mousekeeping did a great job keeping this family all straight. The room was always tiddy, and fresh smelling.
A week into our stay we celebrated our 18th Anniversary. We came home from Epcot to find balloons and an autographed photo off Belle and the Beast on our bed. The kids thought that was nice! So did I. It is funny to because our last name....BELL!

The next day we spent it at Blizzard Beach and I had booked a massage at 3:30. My masseuse was JESSICA. OMG I texted a friend of mine who loves massages and said..."MASSAGES AT DISNEY ARE MORE BETTER!" It was great. I got a 50 min massage. I was about 15 mins early because I wanted to get there before the rain hit and I only waited about 5 mins. They used a heating pad system and it was so relaxing. Just what i needed after all the walking in the parks and a 1400 mile return car ride home.
The work out area looked fantastic, however I was on vacation and I think I was walking enough...
The Staff, Bartenders, Lifeguards, you name it they were great!
When we started to book our trip we first looked at CBR. We like the beach and thought....Cool. When I saw there big pool was going to be in rehab I came to this board and read what Buzz and all of you guys said about CSR. I am really glad we picked this place. The bartenders did say in Jan and Feb it does get more of the SUITS but I never got that feeling. There was a dance competition going on so we did see girls with fancy outfits and lots of stage makeup on. There were a few Brazilian groups but we never heard them.
I came across one older lady smoking at the designated smoking area but other than that...Never saw or smelled smoke....YEAH
We did go down and walk around the BOARDWALK area at the Beach Club one night. It was nice and we did enjoy it. However the best part about CSR is that I felt like I had 2 vacations...One at Disney World and then in Mexico with sun, fun and one heck of a view.
I would like to thank everyone who helped us learn about how to prepare for our trip to WDW. I think we did great because of they help we got here on the DIS! I don't know when we will go again but I know I am dreaming about
it.
A few more random Shots.

ou1247 - Thanks for sharing! Funny, the flowers in bloom in the summer are the same in the winter! Looking at your photos is like a walk through our last trip. Love it!
Good tip about removing the coffee pot. Will do that next time! And we are bringing an over the coat hanger bar shoe holder to put stuff in (if that makes sense). we did feel pretty packed in last time, and we'll be there longer this time, but still it was good. :)

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1683477
however they do not have any confirmed snacks on the dining plan listed for Coronado Springs...so if anyone is there or going soon I would really appreciate it if you could keep track of what they are counting as snack on the dining plan. We are going in Sept, and staying at CSR we are sooo excited about all the snack options the rest of WDW offers that we didn't even know about.....popcorn:: :stir: :cake: :drinking1

CSR snacks that I can confirm (from June '08): Gelati at Rix Cafe - delicous!! Also, at Pancho's Gift shop toward the back of the store there is a large rack with prepackaged snacks. We had four snack credits left, and picked up four different prepackaged "Disney" snacks.
I never knew this until the day we were leaving...there is an outside enterance to Pancho's toward the back of the store. We found this when we dropped off our luggage for Magical Express transfer to the airport. We walked a few steps from there, and found the "back door" to Panchos. This was not a service door, but open to anyone!

I've really been enjoying this thread. Great pics Linda! After the wonderful advice from people on here, I have just switched to CSR. Your pictures have gotten me SO excited. I don't want to rush through summer (maybe Fall LOL) but wow, I can't wait!
Looks like I'll have to buy a Year of a Million Dreams mug too someplace else. I like to get mugs when I go away so when I drink my coffee I can always think of my trip. The one I've been using says Holiday 2003 on it. ;)
I'll have to dig around to where else I've seen a great list of snack lists. Another website...I'll have to see if it listed CSR.
You guys are clearly Disney travel pros but touringplans.com has a wonderful free planning guide thingy where you can print out this chart to keep track of how many credits you use daily on your trip. (Even though I'm a subscriber, I do think that section is free to anyone.) Right up my alley for my left brained planner self! :woohoo:

We arrived on Sunday, Jul. 20 noonish..our room was ready at checkin. We got Casitas 4 just like I had requested when we made reservations. No time to fax it, but got it anyway. We got Bus Stop #2 right behind our building. So, when we got back tired from the parks, it was a short walk to our room. Bus service is the best. Hardly had to wait for a bus.
Resort grounds are breathtaking, specially at night  . My kids enjoyed the Dig Site very much. The Jaguar Slide is great!
Loved Pepper Market! One of the best CS meals ever.
There was only one night at 3am, when our neighbors from the next room came in and were shouting and arguing very loudly and we couldn't sleep at all. So, I called front desk and in a matter of minutes it was quiet again.
Sadly, we had to leave today. We will definitely go back. We miss it already :sad1: .Thanks for sharing! Funny how people at the same resort during the same time can have such different experiences. ;)

Just returned from CSR. We know a mousekeeper there and she was telling us that CSR is under rehab. They're starting with beds/mattresses. Taking out the doubles and putting queens in. Fresh coat of paint, carpeting, etc. She also mentioned that they're are talks about rehabing the Pepper Market. I certainly hope they don't change it like the other resorts but I'm afraid they just may.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the scoop I heard.

I get a massage every year at CSR. I did one at the GF and there was no difference in the quality of the massage. The thing I did not like at GF is they tried to push other services and their products on us upon completion of my massage. I didn't like that feeling of being pushed. Makes me feel unconfortable.

CSR's restaurants are NOT owned by Disney and have never been on the dining plan list when it first comes out. However, they have in the past always been added months later.

Rehab is starting in October of this year to all of the rooms. They will start at one end of the resort and work their way around the resort. I don't think it will be anything that will interfere with a stay at the resort. Normally they work from 8:00 to 5:00 (or close to those hours) while people are at the parks.

I agree!! The PM is terrific!
Every trip we make to WDW includes a visit to PepperMarket!
Especially when on the DDP.
Take a bus from what ever park you are at and stop in for a great
meal. From Amazing Nacho's to a really good deal on a Steak, the
PepperMarket is one of our Favorit counter services.
If you are on the Dining plan...it is your best meal for the money!
We kept a printout of all the meals we had on the free dining plan
last year...(always remember to ask for one at checkout!) and were
shocked to see how much money we saved by having the plan...:scared1:

You are thinking of the Caribbean (which is scheduled to be done 9-15). The Jaguar Slide at the Dig Site pool was worked on earlier this year and done by late April. The pool was never closed during the rehab on the slide at th CSR.

Depends on what you want to be close to. If the food court, Casitas 1 or the Cabanas (9 or 8--Buzz knows for sure). We prefer the Casitas--4 or 5. It is about a five minute walk to the main building and an eight minute walk to the Dig Site Pool. We like 4 and 5 because they are close to the Fitness Center/Spa and quiet pool which we use on our trip. Plus after our day at the park, we like to take a walk around the courtyard of the Casitas after the sun has gone down and walk among the fountains with the lights on--it is simply beautiful.

We are in single digits now - 9 days to go - we are eating CS on the DDP on arrival so we can check it out right away.
As we are arriving fairly late due to flight times, I don't hold out a great deal of hope in getting Cabanas 9 or Casitas 4 - I'll request it at the front desk but I am not too concerned where we end up in resort really - don't mind a bit of a walk actually and like it to be quiet (ie pool view definitely not necessary). Maybe we'll just ask for a 'non parking lot' view - what do you think - are there any really bad locations in resort?

:fish: :fish: I'd like to say thanks to Buzz2001 and everyone else who has posted execellent info and pics on CSR. Had reservations at ALMusic w/Dining Plan - arriving the Saturday before Thanksgiving and leaving the Saturday after. It will be me, DH, DD 20 and DS 15. DH really wanted to stay at CSR and ya'll all helped make the decision. Last Friday, DH upgraded to CSR. :woohoo: We haven't been to WDW in almost 10 years and we can't wait. Kids were little the last time we went. No diapers or bottles this time. We're all set....even reservations at restaurants.
There's not to much that hasn't been answered, but I have one question that I haven't seen the answer to. Being from Louisiana, my DS loves fishing. Is fishing allowed from the banks of the lake or in restricted areas and is a license required? We're driving and it wouldn't be a problem for him to bring what he would need instead of renting a cane pole as listed in a previous post. This DS would get up right before sunrise just to throw his line in before we start our day. This would be ultimate for him. We'd appreciate any help.

Dear Teacher03,
You made a good decision. We have stayed at Pop also,,and really
liked it a lot. We had a good experience there in most every area.
But.........Coronado is just a different experience....Yes, it is more adult,
but there are many places for kids to play and enjoy the pools at the same time..Just the theme of it though, makes you sit back and feel more like
a relaxed, summer vacation. You can definately distance yourself from the
noise at CS because of the layout of the grounds..It is relaxing and
such a different "theme" than Pop that you will feel the difference just
sitting outside the PepperMarket taking it all in...Much more LUCID!!!!
Good decision for what you are looking for.:wizard:
I HIGHLY recommend the PM Mexican station.......The best Nachos
in WDW...Nice relaxed atmosphere...And did I mention the Margaritas!?!

Hi, Goofysince71. Actually, the Rix Lounge was still being worked on when we were there last year. But we plan on trying it out this year if time permits (we are going with friends who she has only been to Disney once and he has never been...so we're kind of keeping a few things open for them to decide). We are at 17 days, 14 hours and 35 minutes! We are so pumped for our stay at CSR...we can't wait. I've put a lot to the side for the trip, but it's not actually packed. But I've washed some things I want to take with that I haven't worn, and like I said other things are put to the side. Jenna, we love the Casitas 4 or 5 building which is near the bus stop, the fitness center/spa and the quiet pool. We like the Casitas because we can walk through all the courtyards to see the lush flowers and landscaping and watch the fountains with the lights reflecting off them at night. It is truly a beautiful sight. However, any area of the resort is wonderful. We are hoping to be in Casitas in 16 days and I plan to take lots and lots of pictures and will post them when I return.

So, if they're switching out the double beds for queen beds already, that probably means new bedding as well, right?
Any pictures out there of the new beds/spreads yet? :yay:

Looks like you will be there the same time as us. I just switched again, from WL :sad2: to CSR. I knew it might not be possible to stay deluxe this year but it's OK. Hopefully we get our room requests so we are not far from everything.
We will arrive a few days after you guys. We arrive on Oct 8th and stay until the 15th. Can't wait for our first trip to CSR! :cool1:

All these countdowns are making me "Twitch":rotfl:
I have 28 days to go and it's all that I can think of.
The planning stages for a Disney vacation are so much
fun that it makes you wonder why people go anywhere
else.:confused3
I mean, when I go elsewhere, I maybe
think about doing laundry, finding the suitcase,,that's about
it though. Planning is SO much a part of the vacation that it
extends the fun even longer. I had such a good time making
my calendar with EMH and ADR's . I packed the swim suits,
and the Quart Ziplocs, and bought the plane snacks.

Hello all, we are new to this board since I switched ressies from Pop to CSR after reading some of the posts. We stayed at ASM last trip and we were CRAMPED! We have 5 in our party, DH, myself,DD-7, DD-5, DD-2...couldn't hardly take it in that little room after being around so many people in the parks, it is nice just to have some space. So with the great discount codes we were able to upgrade without much difference!
Question for all...were should I request our room to be. We did book a waterview, but I am at a loss for which building to request. We were right on the bus route last time at ASM and were awake until the last bus came through with EMH...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi: We just booked a club level room for our February trip. Does anyone know which building this will be in? Will the lounge be in the same building? We've never stayed at CSR and this new room description makes it sound like a deluxe at moderate prices!! Thanks for all of the great pictures and reviews!
We too booked a club room for January, and since this is a new category for CSR, I called directly to ask a few questions. The CM I spoke to, told me that there would be a club level floor in both the Casitas and Cabana buildings. I did ask which buildings, where she repeated in both the Casitas and Cabana buildings. She also said that there would be food throughout the day that would be prepared by the restaurant, which sounds great as the club level "description" on Disney's reservation web page only refers to continental breakfast, snacks and cheese. I am hoping to get more information on the club rooms as time gets closer! If you hear of anything new, please post.

I just wanted to say I just returned from CSR this past weekend and we/family loved it. This is our new favorite resort, we will be staying there on our next trip as well, we have already discussed this on the plane trip back home.
Everything was perfect. I was hoping for a Casita or Cabana section, but we got Ranchos and it was just fine, we were very close (less than 5 min walk) to Bus Stop 4 and the quiet pool was right outside our door, and the Dig Site was about a 5 minute walk, the only walk we had was to El Centro which was maybe 15 minutes, if that. But no big deal, we love to walk, so this was no issue.
We saw people in suits, but it does not effect us, we are on vacation and that does not bother us.
The Pepper Market is one of the best places to eat, we probably ate there three or four times. Best counter service meal you can get.
The busses were perfect, we did not wait for a bus longer than 10 minutes and they never were full, except at night coming back from the park, we just had to stand.
Saw lots of people with the Dream Fastpasses, we were not so lucky, maybe next time, if they do that again.
I can not say enough about CSR. WE JUST LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2Welcome back!! Glad you enjoyed CSR!!
Just back from CSR today.

We just returned from CSR and LOVED it! After staying three nights at OKW - hated it - neighbors came in at 2:00am and lived it up in their rooms until 5:00am every night. We complained and was told it would be taken care of but it never was. Wished we had of stayed at CSR every night!. The quiet pools were wonderful, nightlife if you wanted it and quiet time as well. Enjoyed getting in some (extra) exercise walking the beautiful grounds. Will 100% stay there again!Welcome back!! Glad you enjoyed CSR!!

I am @ CSR right now as I type---LOVE it...This is my 3rd stay at this resort and after staying at other resorts,I will ONLY stay here (till I do a deluxe lol). The busses have been great, we got the new queen beds, the staff amazing--food has been pretty good so far this trip @ Pepper Market...nothing much as far as conventioneers that we've noticed. Dfiance is at the gym right now and he LOVES having that.
Just thought Id give some input since I am here and watching the small changes (queen beds) and seeing how smooth it is all going. Thanks for the update Michelle!! Have a Carribean Mojito for me!!

Just back from a wonderful vacation! We enjoyed csr. Yes it is big, but very beautiful. I requested cabana/but got rancho..was alittle sad. We were in room 7612 building 7b. We were in the back of the building, parking lot view..in the end it was a great location..short walk to bus stop#4. the quiet pool was in our building. A short walk to the dig site.
The pool is great/always a seat. My kids loved the slide and hot tub.
The busses were crowed....we did always get a seat....bus stop#1 many had to stand. never waited more that 15 min.
Our room was clean. We never did get any towel animals:mad:
The resort seemed very busy. but never overcrowed.
any questions i'd be glad to answer
I'm glad i read all the info on the dis for the csr.
thanks all you csr disers:thumbsup2Welcome back!

I hope you have a great trip!
I think it's only about $15 per night to upgrade to a guaranteed king bed room. I think it's worth it, especially because the king rooms are usually on the corners and you get two windows, which makes the room feel larger and gives so much more light.

and the resort was beautiful as usual. This was our third year in a row there.
We weathered Fay just fine...actually had the MK all to ourselves on Tuesday (or so it felt...we never waited for any ride all day long...they were letting people just stay on the rides and keep going if they chose!)
You would have never known that a storm was blowing around the resort - they kept it very clean and picked up, even while it was happening.
The Pepper Market was great as usual...we ate there 3 times during the week, and never had a bad meal. We also tried the Maya Grill for the first time, and found it lovely as well. Their selection for the kid's meals was the best out of any on property that we encountered. Both of my kids actually were allowed Cheese Sticks as appetizers on the DDP...it was more than enough to share for the 4 of us. The only thing that I was not a huge fan of was the oak-fired method they used to grill the steaks. It seemed very overwhelming for the beef, but for some reason the fish was great on the oak planks.
Bussing was very good - we only had one long wait at Epcot one night, but I think we had just missed a bus, and it was just prior to Illuminations starting, so the big push to get visitors out of the parks hadn't started yet. We did notice that both the parks and the resort seemed much busier than we were used to at the beginning of our week, but I chalk that up to the fact that we normally vacation at the very end of August into Sept...crowds are just normally less at that time. Even so, we utilized fastpass as much as we could and didn't ever wait longer than 30 minutes for anything while we were there...can't complain about that!
One of the big reasons we have for continuing to return to CSR is because we've always gotten really great service there. This year we had a very bad experience with housekeeping. Every other year, we have had our room kept well stocked with soap, shampoo, etc and had our room spotlessly cleaned. This year, our housekeeper completely missed us our first day - and we were in the parks all day long. The next couple of days, we had used all of our shampoo and soap (we travel very light due to airline constrictions) and she did not leave more. I left her a note the next morning, and she did restock...but managed to leave our door WIDE open all day long. We didn't return to the room until after 11pm that night, so obviously it was left gaping open for a very long time. The very next day, my 6 year old DS got sick (too much junk food and sun during the day) and threw up in bed. I called housekeeping for new sheets - they promised to run them right up to us, and never arrived. I called again - and still no sheets. I put the kids in the clean bed, and my DH and I slept on top of the bedspread that night. When she did clean - it wasn't a great job...it didn't look like the vacuum was ever run, and I could tell the floor of the bathroom was never mopped the entire week we were there. I know that these things are completely dependent on which housekeeper you are assigned to, but it does put a damper on an otherwise great vacation.
I do still love the resort, but I'd have to think very long and hard about returning there again. We may end up finally trying something else!:)Thanks for posting! Sorry about your housekeeping issue but it doesn't seem as if it dampened your stay.

hello - we just returned from CSR Castitas 5 & I loved the resort. I plan to stay there again next visit which hopefully will be Nov 2009. enjoyed the Pepper Market food and the way it was set up. Did not make it to Maya Grill - rushing around every morning.
We also saw the unloading of the mattresses when we left for the parks the one morning.
The resorts did an awesome job of keeping guests updated on the storms by sending messages to the phones with park hours and plans - maybe too good a job cuz the MK was jammed on Monday with people trying to "get it in" before it hit. We went out again anyway on tues to DS and MK again in the evening. Fantasyland can be done in an hour if theres a good amount of rain and wind. We had a blast anyway - won't ever forget it!!Welcome back and thanks for sharing!

I've been told that even if you call the resort itself, and they answer "Coronado Springs", they're still in a centralized location and not actually at the resort. So I wouldn't put too much stock in that phone call.
JamesLynn, who actually works at Coronado, has confirmed on this thread that standard rooms are getting or already have queen beds.

We just returned from CSR late last nt. & our double beds were moved out & replaced with Queen beds & new sheets, blankets, pillows, & bedspreads on Monday, Aug. 18th.
Also, Tues. Aug. 19 was nice & empty all morning at MK due to the news reports about the tropical storm scaring most people away. We left MK around 2:45 when it had just started raining...was a perfect morning. We walked on most rides or had very short waits. Once we returned to CSR the skies opened up & the winds were very bad.

Also, a note about our housekeeping: one day we realized our soap by the sink wasn't replaced so we assumed the mousekeeper would replace it when she made up the room the following morning. Well again, she didn't so I had to call housekeeping & request a bar of soap be sent up to our room. I know this sounds like I'm being really picky, but I'm on vacation & I was getting sick of having to take the soap fromn the tub & put it near the sink. Within a half hour someone from housekeeping appeared at our door with a small plastic bag filled with around 8 bars of soap & a bunch of shampoos & conditioners.

They are exactly the same as the old bedspreads. They just looked very fresh. We always freak out when we first enter our hotel room because my younger son loves to lay on top of the bed & we immediately yell at him not to & pull down the bedspread. Well right after the beds were changed, we actually let him sit on top of the bedspread...it was big joke in our family.

Just back from a week long stay at CSR....Aug 12 - 19
We stayed in a Handicap King Room in Casitas 5 (I didn't like it at first but it grew on me as the trip went on)
The grounds are gorgeous and worth the time to simply walk around.
They were installing new mattresses while we stayed there...I took pictures of course.
We ate at the Pepper Market twice and both times the food was simply so-so. Not bad....but nothing to right home about either.
There were conventioneers there but we rarely saw them unless we were around the main building.
Other than that.....I really enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, if given the opportunity.

Cookie5nupe, love your pictures! My favorite is the first one. It's a great angle and makes the pyramid look like it's really in the jungle. Thanks for sharing.

We definately are planning on CSR for next. The refurb will be done by then too. If they have a bounceback offer in our room we will be booking it. Also we want to go over and try the Pepper Market this trip. I will take some pics while I'm there. DH and I love mexican food so it works out great. Thanks everyone.

Here is one of the old ones. Cabana I think. But none of them ever really match the rug.

You sound just like my hubby. He's said the same thing......"Who cares what the bedspreads look like?!" He thinks I'm nuts to even give it a second thought.
It must be a girl thing (or at least some of us girls), but I'm tellin' ya, those bedspreads are sad, homely looking things.:goodvibes
Don't worry though. I still think CSR looks fantastic and can't wait to stay there this December. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a newly refurbished room.....hopefully with different bedspreads.:rolleyes1

I agree, and another plus is.......we know that under those ugly bedspreads at our "home away from home" are nice, new, comfortable QUEEN size beds!:yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay:
(Who sleeps with a hotel bedspread on the bed anyway? We never do. I strip them off right away because they aren't washed enough (yuck factor) and usually they're too heavy.)

New bedspreads are coming in October with the rehab. Be patient everyone!!
Just thinking if they were going to replace the bedspreads with a new design wouldn't the new queens already have the new design? I'm sure they had to buy new spreads for them, right? Or is there some sort of Full/Queen spread.
Just thinking. I really hope they do switch them out though

We just came back from CSR almost exact dates...8/11 to 8/18
We requested Cabana 9b from info on the boards got 9a and were just as happy!! We booked standard view got a corner room with a water view!! I am a huge fan of WL but for saving 800.00 I thought CSR was great! The kids loved the pool and the resort is soooo Pretty. We certainly were not bored. Seems they have just as much to do as WL to me?? That being said I have to admit I like an inside room and just bus transportation doesn't thrill me. But you get what you pay for and for the price I think CSR is as close to a deluxe as you are going to get!!:thumbsup2Welcome back and thanks for sharing!

I'm glad i read all the info on the dis for the csr.
thanks all you csr disers:thumbsup2Thanks for sharing!!

Since this blog helped me decide on a WDW resort hotel I want to give something back to help future travelers. The CSR was great. A beautiful resort. We stayed in Casitas 5. Not only did our receptionist throw in a complimentary roll-away bed(with a nice wink of the eye), we were pleasantly surprised with 2 QUEEN beds in our room. (We noticed the Serta Mattress truck delivering dozens from the parking lot near bus stop 2). The Serta Poturepedics make a big difference! The room is not that big but fine for us, a family of 4, for the time we spent in there. Everyone at the CSR was great. The walking was fine, actually enjoyable. The grounds are relaxing and unless you HATE walking or are terribly lazy, the walking is fine. Casitas 4 would be almost equadistant to both the EL Centro and Dig Site. There were no crowds anywhere at CSR. We neber waited in a line. The Disney buses were incredibly quick. They take you directly to the resorts and we never waited more than 10 minutes and usually 5 for our bus. This included waiting at the parks for a bus to return to the CSR. The Maya Grill was superb.(we were on the dining plan) We ate there twice..Kids and all. They allowed us to get a kids menu meal(Chix tenders) as an adult sized meal. We traveled to other resort hotels and only found the AK Resort Hotel to be better than CSR. If you have any questions reply to this disboard and I will gladly help. We even avoided Tropical Storm Fay as it only spit light rain on us at EPCOT on Tuesday! The CSR is VERY nice. Thanks for sharing!!

Ok, this has been being typed into Word Pad as I have been going along so when I say "right now I am....." I actually was at that point..
So on with this :)
I am watching the reports for Hurricane Fay on the Weather Channel...UGH looks like pretty heavy rain mid week of our trip...I guess anything is better then being home--but TC calls me a jinx since it rained almost every single day off I had this summer...Makes for a boring day off when I can't even go to the beach or park with the kids,.
We landed @ 11:30 as planned and quickly made our way to DME check-in...this is the line
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b8d638b3127ccec4b30ff74ad800000040O08BZuWzNu3bA9 vPhg/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D480/ry%3D320/
It took about 25 minutes to get through, but hey we are excited so its ok. Once done we walked straight through the que and onto the DME bus. Less then 5 minutes later we were on the way. First stop POP and then we were let off @ CSR,
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b8d638b3127ccec4b31e1c8b9300000040O08BZuWzNu3bA9 vPhg/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D480/ry%3D320/
When we walked in there were only 2 people in line, but the manager walked over to us and asked us to step over to conceirge to check-in so we wouldn't have to wait. Our CM was Luisito and he was fantastic. We mentioned our room requests (Casitas 4 and same building) and he said they were granted but our room wouldnt be ready till 5. We said that was fine, but he got right on the phone with a smile and quickly got us a room---3rd floor adjoining and that gave ~M~ an upgrade to waterview :) So we are happy with that...VIEW:

We dropped off the carryons and headed to Pepper Market for lunch. TC, Enrique and myself got Fajitas, Ash got chinese and the kids got pizza. We all filled up and went to head to the DIg Site for a swim when it started raining. I stopped at the bar right outside and got my Carribean Mojito and ~M~ grabbed a Pina Colada. Sorry no pics :)
The kids and the guys headed to the pool while ~M~ and myself lounged on the beds in the A/C and sipped our drinks I chatted with my dad a bit and then called to see if the groceries had arrived...They had ;)
Funny only 2 of our suitcases have been delivered and we are unsure when we'll get the rest (4 more bags).
RAIN :)

We are heading to Le Cellier @ 4 (hopefully groceries arrive by then).
So we head out at 3:45 for Epcot and sat at the bus stop for about 10 minutes. We arrived at Epcot and went on Spaceship Earth which I hadn't seen the refurb yet. We all enjoyed it :) Especially seeing ourselves after we came out up on the screens. By this point we needed to get to Le Cellier by 5 for our 5:05 ADR.

We checked in and Melissa asked me to go to the bathroom with her. When we came out everyone was already seated but TC hadn't gotten to the table yet. When he showed up I asked where he was and he said putting stuff back in his backpack that he took out. No biggie we went on. Throughout the night the waitresses would walk by and hit Melissa and seemed to be acting odd. I shrugged it off as it didn't seem noticeable and I thought I was imagining things.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b8d638b3127ccec4b2108a2a7e00000040O08BZuWzNu3bA9 vPhg/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D480/ry%3D320/
TC got up to use the restroom and so did Melissa moments later. I glanced over and thought I saw them talking in a corner ---my imagination asked if they could be having a secret affair! LOL. I swear exhaustion can get the best of you. The meal was wonderful as always and I got the Mushroom Filet and I was STUFFED. I didn't know if I wanted dessert but decided to get the creme brulee just to "taste".
A waitress came by and put out spoons (this will play into it in a moment) and our waitress came by and told her she put out the wrong ones. They laughed and fixed that quickly! A few moments later all the servers and the manager came towards our table with our desserts...From behind me a plate is placed in front of me---It was a black napkin with a white box on top and the plate had "Will You Marry Me 8/18/08" in chocolate. OMG TC WAS FINALLY PRPOSING PROPERLY!!!
*Backstory* We have been "engaged" for 3 years....Tc never actually proposed..He said lets get married and I said OK...He told me to pick a ring and I did---I lost it 1 year later. It was a sign. He tells me to plan a wedding which I tell him I won't until I have a proper proposal and ring. He outdid himself by doing it here---My favorite place ever and Le Cellier!!!!!*
I cried, it was all caught in pics but none on my camera and sadly Melissa doesnt have her USB cord :( But I took a pic of my ring. The staff at Le Cellier was AWESOME and they made my night. We got champagne and they all cheered. The whole restaurant was clapping I am was so embarrassed. BUT I LOVED IT!
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b8d638b3127ccec4b3d8c58b2900000040O08BZuWzNu3bA9 vPhg/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D480/ry%3D320/
A Shout out to Jennifer for making the whole thing happen. She was hugging TC after when we were leaving saying she was happy to have been a part of it (she was the one hitting Melissa for cues, placing the wrong forks so she could mouth things to TC and she planned the plate decoration---she was the one TC was talking to when he "was fixing his backpack").Thanks Michelle!! Look forward to your full report!!
