We always fly in on Continental......
The Me is now in side "B"
If you are using ME to attend to your luggage, you will get off the shuttle thing and head straight to side B. The ME is down by where you get rental cars.
Otherwise if you are picking up your luggage (that's what we do because we don't like waiting so long for it to arrive at the resort)..... you will have to go to Baggage Claim on Side A, then head back up and over to side B. It is a little bit of a walk, but it's worth it to us not to have to wait for our luggage.

Cabanas.... even though it's nice.... is my least favorite section. Reminds me too much of Caribbean Beach.

Oh my ... it looks so nice there! And your right, we already stayed at CBR in 2006, so looking for something different. Casitas look perfect!

So next question ... Ive looked at Buzz's map a hundred times! Which building? We'll use the gym, and the main pool, and the quiet pool, and the pepper market ...

We always stay in Casitas 4 or 5 and 4 is right by the quiet pool and the spa/gym. We were in Building 5 last year and it took me one minute to walk to Building 4 for the quiet pool and spa.

Is it a long walk to the main pool and pepper market from there?

Buzz2001
05-22-2008, 09:18 PM
Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

It took me five minutes to walk to the Pepper Market and about seven to ten minutes to walk to the main pool. I do walk a little more brisk than some people.

How about quiet pools, which one is nicer? cabanas or casitas?

If I were you, I'd pick the location that will best suit your stay instead of the outside apperance of the building. The rooms are going to be pretty much the same with just different color headboards or dressers. We preffered cabanas because it was close to the digsite and not that far from el centro. I also really liked the beach atmosphere, so that was my taste. But more important was that we were close to what we used most often. We had a quiet pool near us and it was nice, but the digsite was better.

We're thinking of changing our reservation to CSR (we've stayed before and loved it). What's the best way to request a building?

hammie59
05-28-2008, 08:23 AM
Call Central Reservations and add the request to your reservation. Some have said to fax an additional backup request 4 days before your trip, but I don't know if that really helps. I've read conflicting feedback on that one. Anyhow, we just told them when we booked and then got pretty much what we asked for when we checked in. We got the building nextdoor to the one we requested, which was fine.

we stayed at CSR last July (the week of July 4th). Before we got there, I was really nervous about staying there because it was "only" a moderate. On previous trips we have stayed at SOG (1 time) and the Contemporary (4 times); but this time we were going with my sister and her family and she was trying to keep the cost down a little bit. I admit I was a hotel snob!! But, let me tell you it exceeded all of my expectations. When we checked in there was only one other family in front of us and then it was our turn. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the Pepper Market, and our rooms were clean. In fact in my room the carpet was still damp - I guess they washed it - it smelled really clean. One of my favorite parts about the room was that there was a curtain that you could pull over and use as a changing room right outside the bathroom (all of the resorts should have this). The bus service was good also. We only had to stand once during the week we were there (and that might have been on the 4th of July). Most times the busses were empty. We never waited more than a few minutes for one (I guess our timing was good). I also liked the gift shop (that's a little weird, right?). I found almost all of my souveniers right there. We did leave our housekeeper a small tip everyday ($5) and everyday she would right us a short not thanking us.

We are going to Disney this summer (in August) and we will be staying at the Contemporary this time. We are a family of 5 and to get two rooms at CSR was going to be more money than the Contemporary. Last trip my sister only had 3 people in her room, so my son stayed in their room. (we also had connecting rooms). I'm a little disappointed that we aren't staying at CSR again. I think we are going to try to have lunch at the Pepper Market (it counts as a counter service meal on the dining plan). Thanks for sharing!

Is this the bus stop from Casitas? Can you make it back to your room under from the bus stop without getting wet? Also, one of your photos looks like there are balcony rooms on the back side of the resort. Are there any rooms with balconies?

Thanks! I'm thinking of switching to Casitas. Where would you suggest if I wanted to have a covered walk from my room to the main building or bus stop?

Thank you.

Loved it!

Two complaints, which have nothing to do with the hotel.

Complaint 1: I tagged along for my boyfriend's convention, and we didn't get to go to any of the parks :( We had a wedding in New Orleans the day after the convention so after his 3 days of meetings, we had to hop on a plane. I wish we could have extended our stay...I mean if you're already there, right?

Pools:
I did get to enjoy their pools which were nice (and I'm a fan of waterslides so I had to go on it LOL, it was fun). The pools were clean, clear, peaceful and quiet.

Food:
I can't rate the food because we always went to another hotel to eat, not that we had anything against the food here, we just wanted to go to some other restaurants that we've missed in the past.

Complaint 2: The other thing that sucked was we got put in a double room instead of a king. I called the front desk, asked to speak with a manager, yada yada, and there were simply no other rooms available due to the convention. At the time it seemed a lot worse than it really was (you're tired and cranky from the plane, etc). Since we didn't make the reservation's ourselves and his company did, we don't know what specific room was paid for or requested by them (even though we requested to his company a king room). There was nothing the Coronado could do and it wasn't their fault. They offered for us to switch hotels, but that didn't make sense since his conference was there (I blame his HORRIBLE company LOL). But it wasn't that bad...we had a nap bed, and then an actual sleep bed! However, if I was there for quite a few days it would get annoying.

Hotel Grounds:
There are a lot of grounds to cover, but if you leave time it's a really pretty walk. If you don't feel like walking, you can call the front desk and they send a golf cart for you, which we had to do for our luggage). Unless you have a medical reason why you can't walk, I don't see why some people complain the hotel is too large. There's really not THAT much walking. Especially considering when you go to a theme park you do MUCH more walking than to a bus stop.

Final Thoughts:
Most of the time we've gone we've stayed offsite, mostly because my parents have a Marriott Timeshare, which we LOVE. However, we really LOVE staying on site. We would def. stay here again, but we want to try the other Disney hotels first, not because we didn't like it here (cause we did), but we want to try to stay at them all!

My mom & I finally tried CSR in April and I doubt we'll ever stay at another mod or even a Value again if we have the choice.

I was worried about the size of the resort but it wasn't a problem at all. I had asked to be in Casitas 4 or 5 and we got 5, the bus stop was accross the parking lot, maybe a 3 minute walk. If that.

We weren't far from El Centro either. The staff was friendly, the new shop is great, I liked the fact that you can still fill your mug at Panchito's (I think that's what it's called) until about 2am after Pepper Market closes. We had lunch at Pepper Market and the food was great. Lots of options.

The shop is really nice. Buses were perfect, I think we never waited more than 10mns and only had to stand once.

The only problem we had is that the hot tub was really crowded and we were never able to use it - but we were only there 4 nights. Oh yeah, and I couldn't find a resort pin to add to my collection.

I do not recall ever seeing balconies at the CSR and I am pretty sure there are none. If you want Casitas, ask for Building 1 as that is the one connected where you can walk under the cover and avoid getting wet. I am sure there is a way if you were in Building 5 that you can zig zag through the buildings and avoid that, but they can be confusing at times and you might end up lost. And we dont want that to happen! :rotfl2: We stay in 4 or 5 because we like to be by the quiet pool and the spa.

We can harldy wait to get here. 65 days, 16 hours and 57 minutes til liftoff! The pictures everyone has posted look awesome. We are staying 5 days at CSR and then moving over to POFQ for the second 5 days only because we had never stayed here and didn't want to book 10 days and not be happy with the resort but i don't think that will be an issue. I read a review of someone who just got back in May and they were originally worried about bedbugs and mold. Is that something that has happened to someone? First i had heard but happy to hear they found no issues.

Can we change the name of this thread so that it can be moved to the photo thread? There are really nice pictures here that we should share. It gets lost in the resort thread and we have stopped adding photos. (And I need photos) :hyper: (Thanks Buzz for keeping the photos coming.) Also, can we label the buildings so that we can know what to request. Example: This was cabana 9b or Casita 1 north side, etc. So far I have requested 9b for our stay but am thinking about Casitas.

Hi, I just have one more question and this one is about room location. I've seen your map, Buzz and I can see that 9B would be the best for my husband and I. Is that considered a "preferred room"? Does it cost more to stay in that building and if so, how about 9A? Those two seem closest to the Pepper Market which I think my hubby would like to stay closest too. Thanks for any replies!:)

No preferred rooms at CSR - only extra is water view!!

I have read you can request ahead of time what section of the resort you prefer, I understand that their is no guarantee you will get this request. How do I go about requesting the Cabana's? Or are all the Cabana's waterview? I dont want to pay extra, but last time we stayed in the Ranchos and that was a hike. We made our reservations awhile ago for our 10 night stay in Sept.

No preferred rooms? What about the King bed rooms that are not water-view (if there are such things)? We'd rather do the King Bed room and pay a little more for a rollaway bed for DD 5 than two full-size (since there aren't any Queen beds at CSR). Would a King bed be considered preferred?

Buzz2001

Preferred describes the location. King rooms are located all over the resort and have an added cost like waterview rooms.

We just called the disney number and told them to add it to our reservations that we wanted Cabanas 9B. They put it right on the reservation. I know that once they give you your room, if it is too far you can nicely ask if they have any rooms in the section you prefer. We did this last year at WL and got a room where we wanted. :thumbsup2

I posted these elsewhere, but Buzz2001 asked me to post them here, so here they are:

The Review
Just arrived home from a week at Coronado Springs last night. Here are some thoughts…

• It is a beautiful, beautiful resort. You truly feel like you are at an expensive tropical location. We've stayed at POFQ, and loved it there, too, but for that "resort-y" feeling, CSR can't be beat. The landscaping is simply spectacular, lush, and gorgeous. It does not feel like a moderate at all, and I really mean that. Walking around there at night is just breathtaking. The various resort lights reflecting off the lake are sooo beautiful. You just keep stopping and going "Oooh. Ahhh." You can't help yourself because it is so pretty. It also feels really safe at night because there are a lot of folks walking around and the golf cart transportation vehicles run around the lake circle until 3 a.m. shuttling people from the main building if they want it.

• Location is kind of important here. We were in Cabanas 9B (I think that's what it was; it was the second closest building to Pepper Market, room 9250 -- oops, turns out it was 9A per Buzz2001). This was a 2nd floor room, but the elevator was nearby and never took longer than 5 seconds to arrive. The elevators don't seem to get much use as the Cabanas are only 2 stories, so when you do want to use it it's very convenient. Even in these "close" buildings, it's a good 10-minute walk to the main building, but as I said, it is sooo beautiful. After POFQ I thought we'd hate the walk, but we didn't mind it at all. Now, the Ranchos units are quite far away. They, too, are gorgeous, but a long walk. If you picture a large circle around a lake, the main building and the ranchos are directly across the lake from each other, while the other two areas (Casitas and Cabanas) are on the left and right sides of the lake. We were initially put in the Ranchos, but because I faithfully read the DisBoards, I asked for something closer in. We ended up with a water view Cabanas room right next to the quiet pool (Pixie Dust!). Our room also was a corner room with the 2 windows, and what a difference that makes in making the room feel bigger. That second window really takes away the "tomb" feeling of a hotel room and gives you some breathing space. It was just a lovely, lovely room. The man who checked us in was so sweet and accommodating. In fact, all of the staff at CSR were amazingly helpful, kind, and pleasant. We had a friend staying at the resort who got a Casitas room, also close to the main building, and that Casitas section is just beautiful. I felt privileged being in the Cabanas and getting to look out at the Casitas day and night. They provide just a spectacular view.

• The CSR pool has got to be the best one at all of Disney World. First of all, it has a large deeper area (5', 1" I think), so it doesn't have that yucky warm bathtub feel (this was our biggest disappointment at Wilderness Lodge a few years ago). The slide is really long and fast. My kids — both teenagers — loved the pool and wanted to go every night even when they were exhausted. There is a large baby pool and a large hot tub. We also spent a lot of time at the Cabanas quiet pool as it was just outside of our room. It was so relaxing and peaceful. I had to do a load of laundry while we were there, and the laundry room is right next to the quiet pool. Honestly, we had the best possible location. I don't know how we were so lucky.

• The resort was full, but mostly with Conventionears, so you wouldn't know it. They don't really go to the parks, so the buses were awesome. We never had to stand one time! There are 4 bus stops at the resort, and the one in front of the main building is the most crowded. We always got on at stop #4, behind the Cabanas, and there were tons of seats. Coming home from the parks was amazing — all the other moderate resorts had these incredible lines of people, but not ours. After Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom, there were 5 people in our line! We could not believe it.

• Pepper Market — I know a lot of people don't like the set up of this counter service because they seat you and give each member of your party a card. You go around to the various food stations, get what you want, and the person at the food station stamps your card with what you ate. You take it back to your table, eat, and then give the card to the cashier and pay on the way out. I was concerned about how it would work, but we LOVED it. It felt very civilized and peaceful, without the typical jostling to get in a food line, and standing around with trays looking for an empty table. It was so much less hectic. The food I will review later on the dining board, but like most of Disney (in my humble opinion) it was just OK. Not horrible, but not out of this world either. The highlight for me was the soup counter. I love soup and they have two soups a day; you get a HUGE, and I mean huge, bowl along with a nice piece of french bread to dunk in it. Very nice. We also appreciated that there are so many placed to fill your refillable mugs: inside Pepper Market, at the coffee counter just outside Pepper Market, in the Rix Cafe snack shop, and of course at the pool. Very convenient. And speaking of Rix Cafe. This place has an amazing assortment of pretty tasty breakfast and snack foods. My daughter has a breakfast quiche from here one morning and she loved it, said it was delicious. There are also sandwiches, fruit, etc. A large selection definitely not available at other moderates.

• We also ate the breakfast buffet at the Maya Grill. This TS restaurant is — like the rest of the resort — very peaceful and lovely. It wasn't crowded at all, it was quiet, and the food was good. It's a much smaller buffet than, say, Chef Mickey's, as it is definitely more "adult." That was the only meal we had there, but we would have no problem going for another meal. We never made it to the Rix Lounge bar in the main building.

• We had a rental car, and for anyone bringing a car, CSR can't be beat. The parking lots behind each building are never crowded. We parked literally right outside of our building each day and night, no problem. It was so handy when it came to loading and unloading luggage, though they will transport you and your luggage via the golf carts if you take Disney transportation. When we got home after 10+ hours at the parks, it was so nice to park and be 50 feet from our building.

OK, so I think that's about it. I highly, highly recommend this moderate resort. It is ABSOLUTELY a cut above other moderates in so many ways. If you stay here, you will say, as we did frequently, "I can't believe this is a moderate. It sooo feels like a deluxe resort."

I think either would be great, though as I said in my review, it was really nice to be in Cabanas and look across the lake at the Casitas every night — they looked so beautiful all lit up at night. And for me personally, I wouldn't want a 3rd or 4th floor room at the Casitas — too much stair climbing or elevator-dependence — but it really is beautiful over there. For me, the Cabanas was just a perfect location.

Our favorite section is by far the Casistas!!!
We've had 2nd and 4th floors.
4th floor was a tough climb up the stairs late at night.... but we were close to the elevator. Even though we took the stairs most of the time.... good exercise. The 4th floor did have an awesome view too!!!!

Buzz, as of right now are those souveneir mugs in your photos available? Or do they have the same Year of a Million Dreams mugs as the rest of the resorts have right now? I'll be glad when they get the resort mugs back with the name of the resort on them. Makes them more personalized!:)

Thanks! That's really great to hear. I am wondering a little if Disney might not just keep Year of a Million Dreams going for one more year, so it's nice to know they have different mugs at CSR.

All the pictures are just so beautiful. I was so tempted to change our Feb. 2009 ressie to another resort when I read about the rehab that will be taking place but I just can't bring myself to do it. I have been wanting to stay at CSR and all these pictures just make me want to leave today.

Does anybody know when the rehab will start and what part of the resort is first? Thanks

We were in Cabanas 9B (I think that's what it was; it was the second closest building to Pepper Market, room 9250).

It sooo feels like a deluxe resort." :)Thanks for sharing!

OMG I can't wait. Just upgraded to CSR from POP. Last year got a little pixie dust and was upgraded from pop to ssr at no added charge. Woohoo. While I am anxious to try a value, pop especially, I am so happy to go to CSR. This thread has been a godsend. The pics are amazing!!! I feel like I know so much about it and just cant wait to get there. We just missed free dining and will be there from 8/12 to 8/15 before a cruise out of Tampa. Hope to see some fellow Dis'ers.

We just spent 6 nights at CSR, it was our first time at this resort and we LOVED it! The beauty of the grounds was refreshing to the soul. It was a lot of walking, but that didn't bother our family (DS8, DD6, me and hubby). The bus service was far superior to that of POP, where we have stayed in the past. The wildlife was amazing...bunnies, turtles, ducks, snails, etc. We stayed in the Casitas section, I requested the cabanas but none were available. Turns out we loved the casitas and it was great being the first bus stop to be picked up and dropped off from. We also checked in around noon and our room was actually ready even though they were booked to capacity the night before...bonus for us! I would highly recommend this resort, the family and I LOVED it and plan to go back again!:wizard:Thanks for sharing!

I was at CSR last sunday through saturday for a CPA conference. We ate lunch almost every day at Pepper Market and some breakfasts. We had excellent service all week at the Pepper Market. The food was some of hte best quick service we've had on property. Some many choices. We also went to the quick service Cafe Rix which was also good. They had great m&m cookies and coffee. They serve Illy coffee which is one of my favorite coffees.

Our check-in went very smoothly and had a great CM from Oklahoma State. She was at disney for the college program. Very nice and got us rooms close to the conference center which was really nice since we had classes starting at 730am.

The rooms were very clean and kept that way all week. I thought they were better then POR or POFQ.

Buses were good but I really say we got on at bus stop #2 which is the first stop the busses make. Several times the buses were packed before they got to El Centro (bus stop #1 which is the front lobby stop) which was good for the tons of people at that stop. We never waited longer then 5 minutes for a bus going or coming back from the parks. Thanks for sharing!

I stayed at the Coronado Springs last week. It was a last minute trip and it was all that was available. I have stayed there twice before once for a convention and once just over night. Neither trip did I have time to enjoy the resort.

This trip was different. I was pleased to see they had room service, I didn't use it but it was nice to see it there. The pool was very nice and the atmosphere was really fun.

The ground were really nice.

I hated to leave. Thanks for posting!

My DD and I have definitely found our new favorite resort! Just returned from a 9 night stay and I'm so glad we tried it.

Here are the reasons why we loved it:

1) As you can tell from the pictures, it is absolutely beautiful.

2) The bus service is far superior to that of the other resorts we've stayed at (Pop and POFQ) and also better than other resorts we've visited. I'd even venture to say I'd prefer it to the monorail. The experiences we had on the monorail this trip were not positive, with huge crowds and frequent delays. The only time the buses were packed were at MK closing and on a MK EMH morning. It was rare that anyone had to stand. We also never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, it was usually more like 5 or less.

3) We loved our room location. I received the section I had requested - Casitas 4. I mainly chose this for the proximity to bus stop #2, and was so glad I did. We could see the bus stop from our room. Being stop #2, we were the first picked up and the first dropped off, a big plus when you are tired and hot. I did not find the walk to the Dig Site or the main bldg. overwhelming. It was a very pleasant walk. I much preferred being close to the bus stop than to the pool or food court, as we spent a lot more time travelling to and from the parks than walking to the pool or main bldg.

4) It's a quiet resort. It wasn't until the last 2-3 nights that we ever heard any noise from our neighbors, and this consisted of kids yelling while coming back to their room around 11:30 at night. Nothing to complain about.

5) Great pool. My DD loved it, of course.

Can't think of any negatives at all about CSR. We only ate at Pepper Market twice, so I can't critique it very well. I'm not sure that I would prefer its setup to a traditional food court, but it was fine.

Thanks to everyone that provided info about CSR that helped me choose to stay there. Whenever we return to WDW, it will be our first choice! Thanks for posting!

Hi Mr. Coronado!!!
I know this has been asked before,,,and I have poured over
past threads,,,but can you help us?
When requesting a room,,,We would need one close to Pepper
Market,,,and to the Best BusStop...:lmao:
"Best" meaning one that will not stop at all the other stops around
the complex..Does that exist in unison?
You work at Coronado don't you?
IF you still do,,,What are our chances of getting a request
when the only flight we can get out of Chicago in September
gets us to the resort at 8PM!?
What are your recommendations,,,
We will listen to whatever you have to say.:wizard:

Coronado has been our dream destination for years now...
The PepperMarket is better than most Disney Counter Service.
The Hammocks are calling my name,,,,no place in the world
to be more relaxed with the true feeling of "vacation"

Cabana 9b is the best in your case because you can walk to bus stop #1 and that is the last pick up for park buses. If you are headed to DtD, you can walk to bus stop #4 and that is the last stop for that destination. 9b is also very close to the main building and close to the pool and the hammock. It is the prime spot. But requests are not guaranteed.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early. If you already made your reservation, call back and add a request. If you booked through a travel agent, have them add the room request for you.
ps - I don't work for CSR or WDW but maybe when I retire and move south.

Just got back from 7 nights at CS - absolutely loved it - again! Stayed in Casitas 3 ground floor corner room with two windows and a great view of the lake. We ate like pigs on the DDP and checked out with 6 unused table service meals and I promise we did not miss a meal and did not pay for any meal except for two breakfasts. We even did the Hoop De-Doo! Won the YOMD ears at Epcot. :cool1: Saw a three foot long alligator resting on the rocks just to the front of our room - that kept me from renting a boat. Where there's a little gator, there's a big gator somewhere. :rotfl: Called the front desk and they said they would get someone to come out and catch the little feller. Wasn't really concerned, afterall, its Florida, there's water so a gator is natural I guess. My kids were in awe of it though. Can't wait to go back - loved everything about our July 4th week vacation - best one yet. Crowds were not too bad and we waited no more than 20 minutes for anything (except the buses - they were not as common as I am used to) without fast passes. Was pleased that we won the ears instead of the fast passes due to the low crowds. Had a ball and can't wait to book our next trip!!!

We are flying on United miles too but were able to get the 8:06 a.m. flight (it was originally 8:00, but it's been changed and our return flight was orginally 2:00 and is now at 3:14 (United is cancelling a lot of Florida flights--so check your flights--they may have changed the times)

:lovestruc After Staying at "Dixie Landings" aka Port Orleans Riverside
for 10 straight years,,we have started to mix it up a little.
Coronado Springs is by far one of the most relaxing destinations...especially
after a long day at the parks and resorts.
Bring a good book, find an empty hammock right by the water, and
lay back and relax.,,,,Just as comfy as the hammocks at
the Polynesian but actually quieter.....

oh, Kathy, by the way ,,,,I have been checking the flight weekly,,,it has
changed twice....I never trust them to stay the same anymore!
We are going Sept.15th,,,I believe you will already be done with
the hammock,,,,leave a "reserved" sign on one for me!!!!!!!:rotfl:

Anyone going to Coronado Springs,,,enjoy the Pepper Market
for the gem that it is..
Remember that you do not get ANY service at a Counter
Service restaurant....so if the people at the food court
don't notice you are there,,,that's o.k....Do it yourself
and you will be happier anyway!
Try the steak , potato and veggie platter at the Grill
Try the Nacho's......take extra sour cream!!
Try the Soup and bread....mmmmmm
Try the Burger made to order..........medium rare almost ALWAYS
comes out perfect.
Try the Wet Burrito........heavenly
We will be there during free dining....but if we weren't we would
buy the dining plan anyway,,,at $37 a day it really is a good deal
when you break it down.
A breakfast of ...muffin,coffee and fruit would cost ...$8 to $10
A lunch of burger, or chkn strips, drink and dessert....$12 to $14
A dinner of Ribs or chicken with drink and appet........$18 to $20
EASY.........
that is a total of $38 at the LEAST!!!!!!!!
If you were on the dining plan you could order WHAT YOU WANT
and not worry about the prices!!! AFTER all it is VACATION
Coronado's Pepper Market is rated #1 Counter Service and
your bill could go as high as $30 for one meal if you aren't watching
the cost!!!Do it,,,it's fun.....Enjoy:woohoo:

My DW and I just got back from our two week honeymoon in Disney. We had never stayed on site before, and neither of us had been at disney in the last 5 or 6 years. As awesome as everything was, CSR was an amazing resort. We had requested a room in cabanas 9B as so many people suggest, but we were in Casitas 3. They upgraded us to a lake View room from the 4th floor, and the view was amazing. The only negative of the room was it was a decent walk from the dig site, so we spent most of our afternoons at the quiet pool which we preferred anyway. The bus service was awesome, and the resort overall was just incredible. At the end of the trip we talked about if we were able to return to Disneyworld in the next few years, where would we stay; we both agreed we would be happy to return to CSR even with all the other choices out there. So thanks all you CSR fans for all your insight (especially buzz and his website, that was the clincher!)Thanks for posting!

This is my new favorite resort, it was wonderful. I just got back yesterday but while I was at WDW the bounceback offer was in the room and I enjoyed the resort so much that I booked the CSR for my stay in December. It is a great rate, $117.00 per night!!!
The themeing of the resort is just great, it is a nice size, walking around the lake was just so relaxing. The way the resort is set up with its different areas you never felt like you were in a large resort, because each area was off in its own section.
The bus service was exceptional, the longest wait I experienced was 15 minutes. Since I was by myself I had a small note book and I would record what time I got to the stop (both coming and going from the parks) and what time the bus pulled up. What was a real plus is that the bus stop in the parks was always close to the exits, so you never had to walk far to your bus stop after a long day at the parks.
I was in Casitas 4, room 4343, my view was a partial view of the parking lot, but I did not mind because the location was fantastic. It was a quick walk to the bus stop,(about a minute) the quiet pool was right around the corner. The walk to the main building with the Pepper Market etc, was just over 5 minutes walking briskly. The walk over the the Dig site was maybe 10 minutes, I did not swim in the main pool, but I walked around the resort each day and timed myself.
The bus stop was stop # 2 and we were usually the first picked up and the first dropped off.
I only ate two meals in the Pepper Market, a breakfast and a dinner, I found it easy to navigate and had no problems with their system. I took my breakfast outside, but I ate my dinner at the table. How nice to have real silverware and plates.
I loved just sitting out at the tables by the lake, it was so peaceful and just made my vacation so enjoyable.
This is a great resort for families, young couples, singles for anyone.
The rooms were a good size, in fact it felt huge after staying in the values my last 2 trips.
While you can see that the resort is ready for a sprucing up it is not run down by any means.
I am looking forward to staying at the CSR again in December. :woohoo:Thanks for posting!

Just got back on Friday from an 8 day trip for family of six staying at CSR. If you are on the fence about choosing this resort, don't be. It's absolutely gorgeous, peaceful, quiet, and large. I have stayed at 2 of the values on previous trips and I can honestly say that I'm glad I bumped up to a moderate. It's much quieter and the theming is fantastic. The bus service was exceptional even though I didn't see the internal shuttle all week.

Check in was quick - we got to resort at 11:30 and room was ready yet. We were able to get into Cabanas section 9A, close to quiet pool.

We absolutely loved the Pepper Market, the Maya Grill, and all of the amenities that CSR offers. I got a massage on Mother's Day. Kids loved the pool area with arcade and playground. The adults in our party appreciated having several outdoor bar options.

Weather was fantastic - sunny and 90s all week. Crowds were minimal, wait times on all of the fast pass attractions were commonly 30 minutes. Love bugs were not bad. I saw more at the resort pool and Blizzard Beach than in the parks.

Check out was easy - they arranged for luggage transport early on the day we left so we had until 3pm to get in one more park day!

All in all, a wonderful trip to a beautiful resort that we'll visit again.

One other note that I hadn't seen on the disboards regarding dining - when we had dinner at Coral Reef the evening of 5/15, Mickey was in scuba gear in the tank. It was the coolest thing!

If you ever have the opportunity to go to WDW for your birthday, it's a blast. My husband and I were both celebrating our 40th birthdays last week. They have a way of making you feel so special. Thanks for posting!

I just got back from my disney vacation yesterday and stayed at the coronado springs resort for the first time...and absolutely loved it !!! I spent some time planning my trip on these boards reading about the resort and was so impressed with all of the reviews that I was convinced enough to give it a try. I do not regret my decision at all. My wife and I immediately fell in love with the place and plan to vacation there again next november. The staff was great and the cleanliness of the room and grounds was terrific. We loved the food at the pepper market...ate there a lot. We originally booked cabanas 9, but were not thrilled about the room, being that it was a handicap accessible room with an open shower and no tub. We requested a new room and they were more than accomodating to our requests. They put us up in casitas 5 instead and we loved it over there. We were near a small pool, guest laundry, fitness facility, and bus stop #2. This all worked out so much better than being in cabanas...needless to say it was a good move on our part. I highly recommend staying in casitas 3,4, or 5 to utilize bus stop #2 since it is the first to drop off and pick up from the parks. And disney's magical express is well worth the price...it was all great. We can't wait to start planning our next trip...we miss it already. So to wrap this all up...we are now coronado springs fans and definitely plan to return as soon as we can. Thanks for all the great reviews that helped me choose this wonderful resort. Thanks buzz...your site is great!!!

P.S. Francisco's bar by the dig site pool is great and the margarita's are awesome!!!:thumbsup2Thanks for posting!

My family and I just returned from 3 nights at Corinado Springs. This had been our first time at the resort, but one of many visits to WDW. Overall, it was a decent resort, but not what I am used to for a resort at the World.

1. Check-in - No problems here. The line moved well and we were quickly checked into our room in Rancho 7a.

2. Main Buildings - I liked the theming. The lobby was nice as were the numerous available services.

3. Landscaping and property - Overall great. Loved the many flowering trees and bushes. The property was especially nice at night. The Dig Site was also great. One of the best on the WDW property.

4. Pepper Market - Very good for a food court. My family and I all enjoyed what we ate. We did not eat at the Maya Grill

5. Buses - We never had a problem with buses. A few of the wait times could get as long as 15-20 minutes, but we never found any of them to be out of line. We walked so much during this trip that even if we did have a 20 minute wait, that was probably a good thing for our bodies.

6. The Room - This is where things were dissapointing. The room was dirty. There were small things that you initailly did not call housekeeping on, but after 3 days, they added up to be a big letdown. There were stains on the walls, stains on the floors. Outside the rooms, there was a lot of chipped paint on the walls. Even housekeeping never did a towel animal or something funny with my sons stuffed animal. Each thing wrong with the room, was not a big deal, but the cummulative effect was a big letdown. Especially for a WDW resort. Shame on me for not contacting housekeeping earlier, but it's dissappointing that I would even have to.

I believe I read somewhere that the resort will be going into a major rehab soon. It should have happended a year ago. To make matters worse we also stayed 3 nights in POR during this same trip which we all loved. The room was exactly like what you would expect for a WDW resort thus amplifying the problems of the Corinado Springs room.

It is too bad that we came to this resort prior to a major rehad because there was much to like of this resort. A fresh new room and more attention to room cleaning would make us come back; but not for a long time. Thanks for sharing!

I am torn between asking for Cabana 9A or Casita 4.

We will be at CSR during the busiest time of the year -> the 2 weeks stradding Easter Sunday:goodvibes
We know WDW is crowded - but we love the FL weather that time of year and our kids have 2 weeks off from school.

We will be paying for a water view.
We do swim in the pool and plan to use the Pepper Market.

DH wants a quiet room:cloud9: . Would Cabana's be better with less rooms in the area (less people to make noise) ?

Teen DS & DD want to be able to walk to the pool without too much trouble and DH want to be close to a bus stop & his AM coffee fix ?
So would Cabana 9A be better ?

My DH is used to Deluxe resort transportation.
Casita's is the first bus stop to the parks.
Then Casita 4 would be better ?

I convinced my DH that we would save $2,000 if we stayed in a moderate.
I also told him the CSR is like a 'deluxe' moderate.

Which building would be better to suit our family ?

I'm excited too. Thanks for all of the great photos! We arrive on Black Friday and are staying at CSR for the first 2 nights and then checking into the Boardwalk on Sunday for the remainder of our stay. I was there last November for work and pretty much my time was spent in the convention center, Pepper Market (which I love) and my room so I can't say that I saw the hotel.

Hello All,

I am new to the site and unfortunately not going to CSR until next Sep (09), i am just wondering if the room rehabs will still be taking place then and if so what kind of disruption it causes (i.e. are they nosy or anything)

Thanks Buzz2001 - I set the picture of the postcard as my computer background. Love it - looks like a picture my DD could paint. :goodvibes

I can not wait till we go back to WDW and try CSR.

We celebrate our DS 18th birthday 2 days after we arrive and our 25th wedding anniversary 4 days after we arrive. Our DD will be left out of celebrations - nothing special for her, but we can do an un-birthday for her at CP (2 months before her real birthday)

Maybe if we mention our anniversary and our DS birthday on our reservation, they will grant us a request for Cabana 9B or 9A. We will pay for water view.

Be sure to mention your birthday and anniversary celebrations at check-in and they will give you buttons for the occasion and perhaps you will have pixie dust and get an additional treat (I got balloons and other things for my 50th last year).

Just got back from our stay at CSR. We were there from 5/5 - 5/12. I requested a room in Cabanas and my request was met. We stayed in Cabanas room 9522 overlooking the water (a nice surprise). After reading about noisy conventioneers, bedbugs, and mold, I have to admit I was worried.

Upon arrival, we made a quick check of the beds and found no sign of bedbugs - whew! Another quick glance around the room and bathroom revealed no sign of mold, either. Double whew! In fact, the room was clean, comfortable, and really didn't show any wear at all. I did notice that it seemed a bit dark inside, but after walking around in the bright FL sun I think any indoor space would seem dark. After turning on some lights, it was fine.

The A/C controls were easy to use. I had read on Buzz's site that they might need to be adjusted every day, but we only had to adjust them twice during our stay. The A/C was very quiet and we never noticed when it was running. In fact, the whole area was quiet. We never heard our neighbors except for the occassional footsteps going past our door in the evening or the sound of the water running through the pipes for showers in the morning.

Housekeeping was great. Our room was always clean and tidy and during the last four days of our stay, we had elaborate window decorations with DD's dolls and stuffed animal and we even got one of those elusive towel animals.

The pool was fantastic. We used the pool on three separate days during our stay, day and night, and it was never crowded. One morning we were there for four hours and we had to share it with only a handful of other families.

Bell services, concierge services, and all the other CMs were friendly, helpful, and very nice. We never felt slighted or ignored - everyone had a smile, wave, or a kind word even if they were just passing by.

There was a sizeable convention while we were there, but we hardly noticed them. We did see them in the mornings at the Pepper Market and while walking to and from our room, but never anywhere else. And speaking of the much-maligned Pepper Market, we thought it was great! The variety was outstanding, the portions huge, and the food tasty. My favorite was the breakfast burrito - man was that good! I'm hungry just thinking about it!

The only con to our stay was DH's discomfort on the bed we slept in. His back was really bothering him and he thought it was because of the mattress. We went to the concierge and told them about it and they graciously offered to have the mattress replaced in our room, but I think we waited too long for it to make a difference. I should mention that I am usually the one that has back problems while sleeping and I was just fine.

All in all, we had a wonderful stay at CSR and we will definitely stay there again. In fact, my SIL and her husband changed their reservations from POFQ to CSR based on our stay! Don't be afraid to give CSR a try - you won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much! :flower3: I was pretty excited when I got home and downloaded my pictures from my memory card and saw it. I use it as the wallpaper on my computer, and also printed it as an 8x10 and framed it to go on the wall of my bedroom. I got so lucky with that shot!
