upgrades/discounts

Has anyone ever heard of disney offering upgrades to people who have mods/values booked? Example: you have a mod. resort booked, in order to make room for more guests, they offer an upgrade to a deluxe resort.

Just wondering if they would do that in this economy, to open more spots in the less expensive resorts.

I got updraged to a 1 bed villa at OKW in Aug 2007. I was booked in ASM.

It happens from time to time and you will hear lots of stories about it happening here on the boards. But, in reality, it is a pretty rare occurrence and, even when it happens, the upgrade is usually to a better room in the same resort and not an upgrade from a resort in one class to one in a higher class.

We got a free upgade 2 years ago from all stars to saratoga spings studio.So it does happen we stayed the last wekk in aug.:banana:

I had it offered when I booked on the phone, not at check in. They offered an upgrade from a value to a moderate for reservations during the week when they were slow. Plus it was January.

I also got the upgrade on our very first trip. We were booked at Movies, or some value and they called and gave us the 1 br villa at OKW. Our joke is that Disney profiles people. Yes, I own a DVC at OKW. I have never stayed at a value yet.

We haven't tried it but some of my friend who had a honeymoon trip last month got an upgraded room to a 1 bed villa at OKW. They really had a wonderful trip.:)
