How cold is the water at DC?Other ?

We are going on July 1st and can't wait:)The salt water areas are kept understandably cooler, but I read another posters second hand info that it is kept at 55degrees.That doesn't sound right.:confused:

Also during the swim,must everything be left on shore except you and your swim suit?

What areas are water socks not allowed?

It was 66-68 degrees when we went in late August last year.

Really it will feel good in the Florida heat, and really when you are face to face with your dolphin, a minor thing like water tempatureis a little thing....

Lets see during the swim, we were told to leave the snorkels and masks on the shore/same with cameras/sunglasses.

Water socks, I can't answer that, I didn't use them...
