Hi all,
I am wondering if any of you can help. We did FD in 2007 and loved it. I am trying to plan a vacation with FD for this year. My question is about converting TS to CS. When we went in 2007, I remember seeing signs in our room saying that we could convert our TS to CS meals. I can't for the life of me remember what the conversion was. I know it was more than 1 TS for 1 CS--I believe you got a CS and either 1 or 2 snacks. Having a very large family, I like the quick service meals with a TS thrown in every couple days, not every day.
Any info would be great.

in 2008, it was 1 TS converts to 1 CS & 1 snack, or 1 CS & a tote bag. Did not see the tote bags, but heard people saying they were fairly flimsy. Also talked to a woman who was going to convert her TS to the 1 CS & 1 snack, but said she didn't because she was told you had to use the snack credit at the same time you were getting the counter service. Don't know if that was the official policy, but that's what a CM at a counter service in the park told her. Since they only had fresh items like fries & sodas, or the prepackaged desserts or bottled water, available as "snacks" at that counter service the lady thought it was a waste of a snack credit (since they were already getting fries, soda & a prepackaged dessert with their counter service meal.)I suppose the switch would work better at a resort food court where there's many more items available for the snack credit.

We have done free dining every Sept since they first offered it. Every year the TS to CS offer changes. A couple of years ago you could trade one TS for one CS plus a lanyard and 2 pins. Last year you could trade one TS for one CS plus two snacks or one CS plus a mesh looking tote bag.

Just to mention...that's what I thought it was in 2008 (we were there for Free Dining in September 2008) But I was sure I heard a CM explaining it to a woman ahead of me in line, telling her it was 1 TS for 1 CS & 2 snacks...
but when I posted that a couple of weeks ago, I got corrected - was told no, it was just 1 TS=1 CS & 1 snack. Which is not close to the same value, at all...most expensive CS is about $15, snack is about $4 max. so this trade would be just $19 value for a Table Service credit...you cannot hardly find a table service entree, drink and dessert for $19! If you're making any attempt at matching value, the 1 CS & 2 snack credits would be closer to a decent trade.

I agree that the CS plus one snack is a very bad trade. I am hoping that is is a CS plus 2 snacks. I realize that most people would think that trading a TS is a bad deal, but for the sake of my sanity, I think this might be good for us. I am also concerned that I would have to buy my snack at the time I buy my CS meal--that would stink. I guess I will hope that is not the case.
If anyone has traded thier TS for a CS, let me know if you had to buy your snack at the same time as your CS.
Thanks everyone!!

Nope I did it last year and it was 1TS for 1CS and 2SC's. We did it twice in our stay of 5 days. At WPE actually (gave us a cupon type paper) - then walked right over to Goofy's to let the kids make some snacks for the drive home. popcorn::

This past Sept we were at PORS and had upgraded from the basic DDP to the DxDDP. My mom was sick one day, so I stayed back at the resort with her, while my husband went on to our scheduled ADR. Later, my mom and I decided to go to the food court. With meal credits on the DxDDP not being specified as TS or CS, I thought we would just get the two CS meals. However, when I checked out, the CM handed me four snack vouchers. When I questioned her about them, she said that any time you use a TS for a CS you get the CS meal, plus two vouchers and since the DxDDP does not specify CS or TS that if you use a meal credit from it, you automatically get the snack vouchers. Basically a TS credit from the basic DDP= one CS meal, plus two snack credit vouchers and a CS meal from the DxDDP also=one CS meal, plus two snack credit vouchers. At least it did this past Sept. Who knows what the offer might be for this year's free dining.
The DxDDP was too much food for us and we did not use a snack credit all week, so our last day we ran down to Goofy's at DTD and bought a bunch of snack credits with our DxDDP snack credits and also used the four snack credits from PORS that we had gotten earlier that week.
