Hi. I'm a lurker on the W.I.S.H. board. I mostly stop by for inspiration and motivation. Even though I'm not trying to lose weight, it takes a lot to get me to the gym - and sometimes I need that extra push from you all.

I wanted to let you know that I finished my first 10K - it was a ladies only race. I had always been reluctant to enter a race because I'm very S L O W. Well I was slow, but I was in the middle of the pack. I had tons of fun and met some very nice women. I'm planning on doing this race again next year!

Congratulations! I am happy you came out of lurkdom to let us know it can be done!

Glad to hear that you will be doing it again. The events are interesting and meeting folks and chatting along the way are things I enjoy too.

My time was about 90 minutes - a little under a 15 minute mile. I did the race with my sister. She signed us both up for the "stroller division" even though we had no strollers because she figured that would be the slowest group. :rotfl: We started in the back but quickly made our way to the 15 minute mile runners/walkers as the pack thinned out.

Update: This morning I woke up hurting a little - just because I never use some of those muscles. I figure the pain will go away soon and I'll be left with the great memories.

Congratulations beachbunny! I'm currently doing the C25K program and hope to follow in your footsteps eventually! :)

That's funny about the stroller division!

Congratulations, beachbunny! What a wonderful accomplishment! You do know that keeping under a 15-minute-mile pace means you're ready to do a WDW event, right? ;)

Your friendly enabler,
-Kim

Kim: That's exactly why I have never done a WDW event. I'm terrified of the prospect of being swept. Maybe I should think about one of the family 5Ks? Hmmmm....

Well, it's been a week and I'm back to my 3 mile 3X/week workouts. Keep it up all you C25Kers - if I can do it, you can too! :cheer2:
