Would Christmas Break for Ontario schools be the week before Christmas and the week after? I'm assuming this is how it would be since I believe Christmas is on Friday this year?:confused3

Every board is different- I know our board is looking at splitting up the weeks- just wait until the schedule comes out for next year before you do any reservations- It should be out by the end of this month! :thumbsup2

The draft calendar for Ottawa shows the Christmas break as Dec. 21 - Jan. 1. BUT, it still needs ministry approval. I don't think it will change since that was the ministry recommended break. As the previous poster stated, every board can be different so wait for the official calendar before booking anything. I found out the hard way that calendars can change. :confused3

I would be very careful. My dh says if the kids go back after Labour Day, they may shorten the winter break to get all the days in. I would check with your school board.

When I think of all the variations with the Labour Day return, I can only imagine the mess around Christmas holidays!

I agree, don't book anything that you can't get out of. It appears that most school boards are changing the calendar for the 09/10 year. The final calendar should be approved within the next month or two. I would not be a bit surprised that in some cases the xmas and march breaks are changed.
