Seniors Only

[J&J]

Would like to start a senior list of us travling to Disney maybe to share a meal or a ride or just say hello.

The solo boards are more for the younger group. Hard to find others of our age and who are Disney nuts.

anyone who want to meet others?

This would only be for the senior group of over 60.

Seniors also are Disney kids and we sure feel like it in Disney World.

I am here all the time. I do work (at WDW) on Wednesdays and Thursdays but most other days I am available.

LLWDW, I also would like to get to know 'not so young' Disney fans. I'm 57, so guess that I'm too young also. Some places call me a 'senior' at 55! I will be following this thread. ;)

i'm guessing that some don't want to let on to their age.

i do a lot of meeting up with other disers all the time on my solo trips to the motherland.
what a person's age is, is not a concern for me.

i'm more interested in doing a few rides, cup of coffee or a meal with others while on my trip.

We met Jean & Jim in 2001 at our very first Disboard meet. We met at the Wilderness Lodge and had a very nice dinner in the Library Room.

I tried something similar for the last Mousefest and I was able to connect to a few people, but not as much as I thought. Of course, there were activities already set up for the fest; so, I was competing with it, as well. There was a list of people and some volunteered their ages; so, I thought there was a big enough pool to try some senior meets.

I did manage to have some fun with others, but everyone has their own agenda and that can get in the way, too.

If I was going at that time I would join you. I did join up with younger solos, who where interested in Disney as much as me. At the Mousefest there are many true Disney fans.

There were a few times I saw a single person at dinner that I felt I could have joined up with, but I was already with someone else. I would strike up a conversation right there, if you see someone interesting and ask if they mind dining together.

Good luck on this endeavor.

Just an fyi, part of the problem with so few posts might be that the the first post said it was for people 60 and over. I am guessing that a lot of people don't read past that. If you want people 50 and over you might want to change the thread title or the first post. (If you can). Just a thought. :confused3 :goodvibes

We are definitely 2 seniors, ages 72 & 74 but kids at heart. We are going down for the month of May. Rented a condo at Winsor Hlls.
We would love to meet up with other seniors.
Right now it looks like we are the old foggies on this site, but thats ok with us.
We go to Disney at least once a year for a month, providing we get a good deal on condo.:dance3::hippie::cool1:

Maybe the word seniors some thought it meant for anyone over 100. hey we are all young in disney.

we are both 56 and feel like 35 and enjoy Disney a great deal. From New England and will be at Pop the 10-19th of September. Great idea to meet people from around the country and world...Where are the rest of the Disney fans over 50 in New England???

Hey, I'm 54 too, AND from Michigan. I've gone to WDW a few times solo, and had a GREAT time!! Some people think I'm nuts to want to go by myself, but it doesn't bother me in the least. I enjoy going with others also, but going solo is fun too!

Hi, I am over 60 and have been going solo to WDW for years. I seem to be the only Disney lover in my family. I will be at AKV 9/1 - 9/4. I think it would be fun to meet up with other folks who love WDW.
