DH and I have talked regular vs deluxe and have decided on regular at this point. One of the things we love about the deluxe is the ability to use all the snack credits at a drop of a hat for sodas, bottled water, etc and letting DS have whatever snack he wants in the moment. There are many other items we usually get too, but I think with all the meals we wouldn't be hungry.

So -I am very curious! Do you use all your sc's on drinks? Popcorn? Items for breakfast? Or are you using them up at Goofy's on the way home for souveniers? (a taste of Disney at home)

With the refillable mug and all the meal credits, where do you find your snack credits going?

we were on DxDDP in october and used them all (okay, a lot of them) at the F&W festival... but other items that we used them for were late night snacks like sorbet, fruit cups, powerade (i'm addicted), divvies (nut free snacks for ds), lollypops for souvies, cereal/milk for early mornings in the room, etc...

We're leaving our teenage DD at home this next trip, so we'll use most of the snack credits for take home goodies for her. That and a few ice cream snacks for us.

We were on DxDP last October and were amazed that we only had three credits or so left at the end of the trip to use up on bags of pretzels for the plane.

We used a lot on bottled water. One nice aspect of this was that, as the family pack-mule, I didn't feel compelled to tote around every bottle of water until it was finished (esp. given how warm the water gets after a while); we'd use up the last bit to water plants, etc., as we walked and would put empties in the recycling bins (that are finally starting to proliferate at the parks!).

We'd also get our morning beverages (coffee, tea, milk, juice) and bagels. It was lovely, as you mentioned, to be able to indulge DS (10) when he had a taste for popcorn or a premium mickey bar. We really didn't buy much candy, other than a few chocolate bars. We also found slushy coffee drinks (ala Frappucinos) in most parks which we enjoyed on credits.

I think you'll find you go through them pretty easily if you just remember to use them!

We used ours at the F&W F. It was a great way to try new things w/out feeling as if we wasted $. Also I used them to buy my DD treats for her class at school. We brought home a mickey crispy treat for everyone. They all loved it and it saved me $.

we went in January for 2 days of record-breaking cold weather (lows in the 20's, highs in the low 40's and strong winds. Not pleasant in the least.) So we were not thirsty at all (can't sweat when you're freezing!) Had all 8 snack credits when it was time to leave. So we bought 4 pastries to go at Main Street Bakery in MK & 4 yogurts at Contempo grab & go for the road home. Made nice snacks for post-Disney traveling.

We just returned from a January trip, 11 of us, where most of the group got the Disney ebola virus at the end of day 1. When we left at the end of the week, we had tons of meals and snack credits left. Before leaving for the airport, we went into the Beach Club marketplace and loaded up. The most popular item was the Disney character Pez dispensers. :rotfl:

Home, mostly. :rotfl: We're not snackers to begin with, so we didn't even come close to using all out snack credits. We shared Dole Whips and pretzles and fudge and still had a ton left to use for edible "souvenirs".

I imagine people could use them for lunch....

If you did two table services a day (a breakfast and a dinner) with one being signature, then you would only get 2 meals for your meal credits...then you could use the two snacks for "lunch"...

I discovered you can use a snack credit for chicken fried rice at the Y&Y CS in AK. My DS2 had this for lunch one day. The portion was HUGE!

we have used them for a good cup of Kona coffee @ Poly,

Thanks for that tip! I'm always looking for a good cup of coffee! :thumbsup2 Didn't know it was considered a snack item.

Last year we did the deluxe dining plan, but with the abundance of them, it seems like WDW could do a DP consisting ONLY of snacks, LOL! Some of the treats I recall that we had in 2008 were a box of popcorn, numerous frozen slushy drinks and shakes, hot candied nuts, cappachino, sundaes, bagels, yogurt parfaits at the AS food court, various pastries at MK bakery, school bread, dole whip floats, sodas, yogurt for DD6 breakfast, fruit cups, create your own pretzel sticks and mickey head rice crispie treats at Goofy's, lots of large lollypops to take home, fudge, fries at Pinnochio's, and bottles of green tea and powerade.

This year we will be using the snack credit for cereal and buying milk in the gift shop so we don't have to use a credit for milk too.

Cindy's mom....good idea...thankx. We always go over to the Super Walmart for cereal milk water goodies for the room then do some shopping but just wanted to know incase we run out of cereal. I will get the little boxes there and just buy the milk as also dont want to waste on carton of milk.

We used them on water, ice cream, itzakadoozies, rice crispy mickeys, princess cookies, cheesecake and brought souvies home for my dd's little friend. We will probably try to use more snack credits during our stay in May.
