View Full Version : How noisy are the "noisy" rooms? (in particular 2030 and 2032)

I was just able to book connecting rooms (2030 and 2032) on the Magic for the 7 nt. cruise beginning 3/22. Although I'm very happy to get connecting rooms as I know the ship is getting full, I wasn't very happy to find cabin 2032 on the list of noisy rooms. Has anyone stayed in this particular cabin (or any other cabin in the vicinity) or any of the other cabins on the noisy list? I assume that DCL wouldn't really have cabins that are uncomfortable as far as their noise level. I do have small children.
Thanks,
Donna:D

2030 and 2032 made the list because they're almost directly underneath the stage at Rockin' Bar "D". Previous cruisers have reported that you can hear thumping bass tones from the bands playing on stage until the nightclub closes. So if you're planning on staying on Beat Street until closing time every night, you won't have a problem. They're quite quiet except when the bands are playing.

We stayed in rooms 2030 and 2032 in 1998. It was when the Magic did the 4/3 day cruises. It was not noisy at all. We enjoyed being close to the elevators!!! Hope you have a fun time no matter what rooms you choose.

Should we worry about any excessive noise with rooms on deck 8, we are booked in room 8528.
We just got back from the Eastern and we were in room 2515 which was under Rockin' D or Off Beat...can't remember...but we did hear the "beat" of the music 4-5 nights of the cruise...it did kind of bother me, but not my DH...you could hear it thru the ceiling. Worse than that for us were the people in the cabin next to us...we never saw them, but heard them daily...they had a toddler who cried, yelled "mama,", and fussed late into every night. We could also hear the mom and dad yelling back and fussing at the toddler...we could hear every word they said. We did take our own alarm clock with us which also has a sound machine in it...it is made by HoMEDICS and we love it...got it at Walmart, but have recently seen them at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $20...get one if you can...you will need a clock...none in the rooms, plus it has 7 sounds to sleep with...we like the waterfall, rain, and white noise...it really did cut out the noise from the cruise...it is small, folds up, easy to pack, runs on C batteries...we take it with us everywhere.

I've stayed in 2042 under the nightclub and the thumping bass was very annoying at night when you are trying to sleep. It only bothered me. It did not bother my DD who was 4 at the time. She passed right out. Otherwise the room was very quiet, except at night when the music is playing. Also would avoid having a room right next to the Laundry room- maybe it was the 2096 area? Is that on your list Dave?

We are booked in cabins 2046 through 2052 (4 cabins). Anyone stay in any of these and if so how was the noise level? We are sailing on the Western on 8/3/02. Thanks. It looks like they are between being under guest service are and part of the night club.

Scottie, 8528 should not be bad, you are not directly under a pool or the Goofy pool stage. You will hear people walking overhead and may hear some pool chairs being moved, though.
The quietest deck I have ever stayed on was Deck 2, noisiest was Deck 8. Go figure. :)
