Thanks for posting this information. I see flights from Indy to MCO have also decreased. Although we're not flying SW for the podcast cruise I'm sure some of the other Indy folks are.

No luck for us in St. Louis. It's still $89 down and $99 back, which is really pretty good, considering. I'd love to get a credit, though, so I could maybe use it for another trip in December;) .

Congrats to those who got a great deal today, and thanks for the heads up!

My family is flying Southwest this June 1st from Albuquerque, NM to Baltimore, MD. How do I see if my flight costs have been reduced?

I find with Southwest that you should just keep checking. We got $57 on the way down and $59 on the way home. This is from Buffalo. Don't really expect to do any better but I keep checking as you never know.

And if your flight goes down, what do you have to do, call Southwest? Is Southwest the only airline that does this? I was torn between Southwest and JetBlue for when we go down in Sept and was leaning more towards JetBlue because they will come out with their flights about a month and a half before Southwest.

You can actually get a credit online with Southwest using their travel tools. There's two ways of doing the change you can either have two windows open on your computer and cancel the first reservation while you are half way through booking your new flight or just use the 'change reservation' feature in travel tools. The credit is good for one year from your original booking date -- not your travel dates.

We like Southwest because they don't charge for the first two bags checked and there's no charge to change flights/times or if a lower fare comes out.

I'm driving down from NY in August, but if I find a fare that low, I'll fly!

We always fly down in later August and the most we paid in the past 4 yrs was $69 each way (2008) the least was $44 but that was about 3 yrs ago boy that was a great rate!! We also fly out of Islip so SW is really the only major airline for this airport so no real competition for them.

The first time we flew Southwest it was $29/each one way from Buffalo to Orlando -- came to $170 US for the two of us. We had been scheduled to drive but you can't drive for that so we've flown ever since. In Dec. Southwest had a special where all flights were half off. 6 of us flew for $600 -- that was all taxes and everything. It was amazing.

If you fly Southwest sign up for DING and their Rapid Rewards program.

Two of our flights were reserved with RR credits, but I did save about $40 on the other two we had to pay for -- I thought that was pretty swell!!! Thank you Southwest. :goodvibes
