I know I am going to catch some heat over this one and many people will just hate the image. To be honest I do not usually like the "wild" images either but this one just seemed to be up for some special treatment.
It is not really HDR but a composite, and the way I 'saw' the scene, impressionistic. And I will probably modify it by tomorrow. ;)

Interesting work. It looks oddly foreboding to me. the calm before the storm. I like the color of the buildings but it certainly has some ominous tones in the sky like you are about to be overwhelmed. It certainly gives the viewer many things to think and many emotions and feelings to comprehend.

If you could either remove the people, or put them in 18th or 19th century clothing I might think it was a painting.

i usually like the wild images but i like this one as well. i do agree about getting rid of the people, at least the ones closest to the wall and fence( ie pink ladies, guy against the streetlamp and green shirted man). i think without them it would be much prettier but i like the effect.

interestingly i just got a book out of the library last night so i can make some presets to "mimic" some of the old master's style of painting with some of my photos...so yeah i really like the wild stuff and the "normal" stuff not so much. i kind of view an actual photo as a roughed in canvas, not always as a finished project ;)

I like it. I usually don't like overly processed images, but this is very nice. I do find the piece of railing or whatever it is in the lower right corner a bit distracting. Is there any way to remove it?

I think it's REALLY great!! What program do you use to create your HDRs, if you don't mind me asking? :thumbsup2

Thank you!
I use Photomatix. It has three modes: Detail Enhancer; Tone Compressor; and Exposure Blend. When I use the last two modes most people would not even guess it was HDR but the Detail Enhancer (used for some of this image) is the most pronounced mode.
I take most of my HDRs with 0, +2, -2 stops.

Can't do much with the pink lady on the far right, that's none other than Princess Aurora herself (as I found when I zoomed in). The others may get costumed in period dress. ;)
As for the wall or fence in the lower right... gone.

It looks great boB! That is something I would definitely frame and hang on the wall.

OMG what is the world coming to? An engineer turning impressionistic on us!

Pretty soon he will be writing poetry!!!

I really like the image boB. It does look like a painting. You can tell it is a cold wet day on the homefront and great day to do some editing!
