We leave for the AKV's on Sunday and I was on the dvc website to look things over and I noticed the online check in option near my vacation details.
Clicked it and it seemed like it was going to give me the option to begin checking in then it stalled.
I guess I will try again tomorrow or something.

I did the same thing....it finally timed out and I figured I would leave well enough alone...it always takes them time to get the kinks out...they are terrible. So I will just check in when I get there on next tues .:goodvibes

It's Disney! And you guys thought it would work when they rolled it out LOL!

Personally I am NOT touching it until LOTS of others have. Knowing the Disney IT shop's reputation it's a short jump from "on line check in" to "the on line check in cancelled my reservation"

Yep, I saw the same thing on my reservation today. I clicked on it and it did take me to another screen and listed my reservation and the people listed on it, but that was it, didn't give me an option to do anything else with it.

I used Online Check-in today to check-in for our March 7 stay at BWV. It was easy, painless, and trouble-free. I'm interested to see if it's just as easy, painless and trouble-free when we show up on March 7.

I don't see the big savings of benefit here unless Disney plans to get rid of most of the Front Desk Cast Members.

What am I missing? :confused3

We used online check-in this morning for our trip, leaving on March 8, and it worked seamlessly. It was very straightforward and a lot of the information about the trip was already pre-populated so it took no time at all. It also gave a couple of choices for room requests...and we received an email confirmation when we finished. Now, we hope that everything is fine when we show up.

How does that online check-in work? Do you have to pull out your picture ID to verify that you are you when you are checking in online? :lmao: :lmao:

On the other hand with this new improved procedure, perhaps the online checkin will automatically cancel your reservation if you don't check in on line.... :scared1:

OMG, now I've got something else to worry about! Since I've stood at the check-in counter once to find that my reservation had been cancelled, it's something I never want to repeat and will live in fear of it happening again for the next several trips.

YIKES! Were you able to get things fixed without TOO much trouble?

Maybe I'm lucky- the worst problem I've had were requests for a king bed not being met. A canceled reservation is scary and obviously more serious!

Did you ever find out how/what happened?

Fortunately, the CMs at HHI (where this happened) were super. MS did what they could to help also. ALthough initially they tried to say I must have done it (sleep telephone-talking maybe?:lmao: ). they gave up on that pretty quickly. We never found out why it happened, and in a way, I don't want to know. If MS were to say out loud "You're right, ma'am, we screwed up" I would have lost it. Since it was at HHI, there wasn't too much option to move us easily (not that we would have wanted to). The resort was booked solid, but when we threatened to drag a matress outside and sleep under a tree, I think they took us seriously and found us somewhere. Although we had to move several times, HHI did everything they could to make the move smooth. We were never "homeless",and for one move, they even moved all our stuff for us, including our refrigerator items, while we were out.

OK - I've decided to try it. If its good enough for DVC Mike, its good enough for me. I figure since it is new, people will be interested in making it work for the next few weeks. If it loses my reservation, then I'll have to sleep on the pull out in my brother-in-laws room (no on-line Check in) until member services opens up on Monday. Wish me luck!

Isn't member services open seven days a week now? You would be able to contact them any day during business hours.
