Summer Alumni.. I've heard..

"There are only 300 positions and 800 alumni wanted those positions.Also that out of those 300 most of them were for campus reps and or people who had left with good standing. And that People are just now starting to get letters in the mail. Also they didn't do phone interviews it was strictly just looking at resume's and background info..."


A friend told me that. Not sure where she got it from, but still it definitely makes me feel like total crap considering I have a non favorable rehire.. So, I guess we will see what happens.

I don't know how accurate the numbers are, but your friend sounds like he or she had the general idea right. Since so many people applied for the Summer Alumni Program, preference is going to go to those with favorable rehire statuses. That doesn't necessarily mean that someone with a restricted or no rehire status won't get a spot on the Alumni Program though. The only people they were supposed to do interviews for were those individuals with a non-favorable rehire status. Did you have an interview?

Unless you know for certain and can verify it yourself, I wouldn't put much confidence in it. Not that your friend isn't telling you the truth. She may have been given incorrect info herself. I swear, you can sometimes call 4 times and ask the same exact question 4 times and still get 4 different answers.

But it wouldn't come as a surprise if they initially offered campus reps since they are already basically working for recruiting. and it also wouldn't come as surprise if they are looking at those with yes rehires first too.

True. I will just have to see. I could understand them giving others a chance first, makes sense.

That's basically what my recruiter told us....preference was going to reps, those with favorable rehire status' and that there were about 300 positions(I actually recall her saying 200 but I could be wrong).
