I ordered a Hurricaine at a bar across the street (Buffalo Grill in Union Station, for those familiar with DC). It seemed appropriate, but it was definately not a Hurricaine. Rather, it was a lot of rum with a bit of sour mix, maybe some pineapple juice, and grenadine. While I would have liked a real Hurricaine of fresh lime, lemon, and passion fruit juices along with Angostura bitters, light, and dark rum, my Planters Punch version succeeded in getting me drunk.

Happy Mardi Gras (or Shrove Tuesday, for the Lutherans!)!!!!

By the way, anyone going to see the Dis team at Universal's Mardi Gras this weekend? I won't get down until April :(

It's generally Shrove Tuesday here in the UK. I made pancakes last night (thin ones more like crepes than your yummy pancakes) which we ate with toffee sauce :goodvibes

I would like to give up cooking for lent (except cooking cakes and biscuits and yummy stuff :rotfl: )

Pancakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Crepes for me too)

Me, DBF, and 2 friends have decided to give up ALL carbonated drinks. So this includes soft drinks, beer, cider, snakebite, etc... Then me and DBF also said that we'd give up all sugary foods (Sweets, Chocolate, Cake, Biscuits (sorry, cookies) etc)

This is going to be a long 40 days....

Charlotte, that's just silly, that's most of a student diet!! :rotfl:

We had pancakes too (YAY PANCAKE DAY!!) in the traditon of getting rid of all milk, eggs, butter and flour before lent (although ours are more like crepes than your small fluffy ones). Although we made so many pancakes we had to go out for more eggs and flour! :thumbsup2 We aren't religious, but any excuse for pancakes!
