Ok I've just been reading Torsie's lovely trip reports and noticed something that I've seen before and haven't really understood. What does 'Goofy woke me/us up at....' mean?

is this an alarm call, something on the telly, a six foot dog breaking in to your room, what?!

We use phones as alarm clocks and haven't really worked this one out yet.

Put me out of my misery and explain, someone, please?;

(Torsie did you really have a suite?! coooo)

You can set the phone for an alarm call and its Goofys voice telling you to Rise and Shine

he will only ring 3 times or at least, that's what i told my lot, after that he does come into the room and drag you out of bed. LOL

Lovely, I bet that gets them up!

Thanks for this. I've only used the alarm call once and i suspect I told Goofy to go away. In less ladylike language. I only remember being jolted out of sleep and fighting with the phone which I fumbled and dropped, and hung up without hearing the message! so that's why I don't know.

I'm sure I read somewhere that if you pay enough money (castle club or suites maybe) that one of the characters comes and knocks on your door.

I might have imagined this - if i have, then it would be a great idea and I'm sure plenty of people would pay good money to have tigger bounce around and bash your door down in the morning :rotfl:

I'd love it, I would gladly pay for that, just the once to have Goofy actually come into the room and pull the covers off their beds, that would surprise them. :rotfl:

It's always a great way to start the day - we always set it up even if we don't need it!

Something like:
"Sorry to bother you folks, but you've got a busy day ahead of you" :)

we found it was only goofy who rang the first time. The kids were in bunkbeds and by the time they had both got down to anwser the phone it had stopped ringing , when it rang again it was just a man speaking. We Found later when we answered before it stopped it was goofy, so get them to the phone quick!

It's all done via by pressing a few buttons on your phone in your room. You press which ever button it is, then they ask you to key in the time - that's it, all done! We had no idea it would be Goofy the first time we did it - it was a nice surpise the next morning. Never seen it mentioned anywhere officially.
