Does anyone have any experience with using United out of Halifax?

Prices seem great and would prefer to do customs in Halifax.

Never out of Halifax, but a few times elsewhere. They are like the rest of them, though lots of people love to hate them. I'm seeing $508 pp in May, what did you get?:)

United only flies to Washington from Halifax, no?

That's where my husband was routed (he was going to NC, so it would've made sense anyway...).

Whoops. I hope my comment didn't come out snarky or anything. I was just wondering if maybe they added another destination from Halifax I didn't know about yet. ;) The Washington flight is always one I check as the connections to Orlando are fairly decent.

No snarkiness detected. We are, after all, the Canadian board. ;-)

I've done the Halifax to Washington run a few times heading for Orlando. Clear US customs in Halifax. There's a less than 2 hour layover and you don't leave the secure area in the terminal. There's Wendy's, a sub place and a few other eating places. I like it. It doesn't seem like your backtracking like you do from Halifax to Toronto to Orlando.

Mikey: I just played on United's Site. YHZ to Chicago to Orlando ... might be something to cost out next time!

We did United via Washington last year -- as bare bones as Air Canada but as friendly as Westjet.

We did Westjet via Pearson this year -- never again! That was a verrrry long day!

Just remember that UA (unlike WJ and AC) charges for both bags (1st=$15; 2nd=$25 - each way). Just to factor into your costs (both these are in USD).
