Again I sit looking over menus to line up where we will eat. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=492
Their are many things I know we would be interested in eating here. Are the selections you can get on the dinning plan limited in any way? I would want the Fajita platter DH would want the Rib eye would that cost us just 2 CS meal credits plus we get a drink and dessert? Does anyone know if they have smoothies or milkshakes here? Thanks

The only reported limitation is desserts - they limit those to Tier 1 desserts (no specialty desserts). Even then, there have been a few reports from folks who say they were allowed to pick any dessert, so it's likely you won't know for sure until you are actually there and choosing desserts. And yes, it's 1 CS credit per person to order an entree, drink and dessert. There are no reported restrictions on entrees. Be advised that the ribeye steak is no longer on the lunch menu - dinner only.
I have no idea about smoothies or milkshakes though.

Buzz (CSR Man) just got back and said that they indicated to him that all desserts were available. Yes, the Rib Eye and the Fajita Platter would cost only two CS credits. Be aware, the Rib eye is no longer available at lunch, only dinner.

We have gotten smoothies at the Pepper Market twice as our beverage with no problems. The last time was about a year ago though, so I don't know if that's changed.

DH and my best freind's DH got them as their "dessert" after their meal because they didn't want cookies or cake or anything.

Just a note: The portions for most entrees were really large, so unless you are a big eater you might want to see if you can share your meals here.

Two family members are doing a fishing charter--do you think it would be a hassle to pick up sandwiches, chips., etc. the night before to take along? We're on the dining plan, so it would be nice to use a few counter service meals. I didn't see any deli sandwiches on the kids meal, but I suppose we could use an adults credit if needed. Any suggestions?

You may want to try Cafe Rix for the sandwiches, chips, etc. to take along. Pepper Market is more like a cafeteria where you pick up your own table service types of food from different stations where Cafe Rix is a grab and go. Have fun!

My understanding is that the 10% tip is included in the DDP at Pepper Market, since it's considered a CS credit.

Does anybody know if you can get your food to go? I'd be inclined to get something to bring back to the room for my breakfast. (No, I don't eat normal breakfast foods....give me a turkey dinner or spaghetti anyday)

Yes, you can. We got our food to go and sat out on the patio overlooking the lake several times. Other times we got it to go and ate on the bus on the way to the parks.

I went in April and was on the regular dining plan - not the free one. The ribeye steak was just 1 CS credit, not 2. Also was able to order any dessert I wanted - anything at all, not just Tier 1. Is this different for the FREE DINING??? I was thinking of going again for the Free Dining Promo - Does anyone know if this has changed?

Yes, you can. You can take it in a to go box with you, you can take your meal to eat outside, they have tables set up in front of the lake, you can take your food to the pool - better than the food quality at the pool, or to your room. Get your entry card to Pepper Market Grill stamped TO GO - then go to the food stations and get your food and proceed to the check out counter. Remember to take a dessert and beverage if you are on the dining plan - since it is included.

so, if you have free DDP , it feels extra "score" if at the Pepper Market?:woohoo: We are hoping to go, and the PM has always been budget buster in a way, but if on free DDP, especially if we can split a cs and have one to split for a breakfast...:cool1:

We just go back from CSR on Friday and loved the Pepper Market, but I have a couple suggestions. We tried the ribeye and the "roast of the day' which was prime rib and they were ok, not great. The salmon and the tuna on the other hand were delicious, moist, wonderful! So if you like fish I would say go for those, they were excellent.

We'll have our own car and therefore making it much easier to try the resort restaurants. I can't wait to try this one again. We were here a couple of years ago and it was one of the best deals for counter service.

Is the breakfast platter at Pepper Market large enough for 2 to share? We are a family of 4 and the 2 DD (16 & 12) are not big eaters at all. I was hoping that with all the QSDP credits we would be able to get breakfast as well. Any breakfast suggestions??

The only one we tried was the Mickey Waffle & bacon (adult size). My d and I shared it and had plenty - we're also not big eaters.

Two adult breakfast platters should be fine for the four of you.
You'll get coffee or tea and juice or water with each platter (2 drinks on the DDP per meal since there is no dessert), and the adult platters are eggs, bacon or sausage, breakfast potatoes, and a choice of a biscuit or muffin. One station cooks eggs to order, another has just scrambled eggs. One other station when we were there last had cheese sauce instead of the biscuit/muffin, watch that you order with the buscuit/muffin option. I would think a muffin and juice might be a decent breakfast for a light eater.

I'm pretty sure the OP was asking if the Fajita Platter AND the Ribeye would be 2CS. As far as I've heard in my planning, the Ribeye is 1CS, as you say, free dining or not. As to the desserts, that appears to be more up in the air. Pepper Market was notorious for restrictions on dessert awhile back, but recent reports seem to allow more leeway.
I can give you first hand info in 17 days... :thumbsup2

We just stayed at CSR from June 13-20. We ate at the peppermarket almost every night it was very good we ordered everything from fajitas to the steak my son really liked the roasted chicken and potatoes, my mom and I shared the Fajitas twice they were really good. We were able to pick any desert not just the tier 1. We also got the refillable mugs with the QSDP so we would just use them and then get a bottle of water to take with us for later.

Hello all.....first thanks for all the information in this list. But I want to review everything I read so far. Please correct me if anything does not make sense or I understood wrong. We are getting the Quick Service Dinning Plan, 2 adults, 2 children (7 and 4 years old):
1. The plan includes 2 Quick Service Meals and 2 snacks per person, per day. They can be used any time. For example if we arrive on Sunday night, we can just use 1 meal, and leave the 2nd meal for that day for, let's say breakfast of the following day, correct? Then continue with my assigned 2 meals for that day and so on.
2. I see a big list of entrees for B, L, and D in the Pepper Market menu. 1 entry (any entry) out of these is considered part of 1 Quick Service Meal, correct? Regardless of its prize (from a Hamburegre for $9 to a Rib Eye meal for $23).
3. To this entree I can add a dessert, and ANY NON-ALCOHOLIC drink, like a smoothie or juice or just water (does not make sense to add a soda/coffee/tea since I'll be refilling my mug for free any time!).
4. How "big" are the children's meals? There is no much variety, 4 items for L and D: chicken strips, cheeseburger, pizza, and pasta. Knowing my girls, they will end up having my rib eye (wituout the sides) and I'll have to finish their meal.
5. What other places do you recommend for D and L in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot for the Quick Service Plan? Yes we tend to be big eaters, plus with all that walking...we need to eat. OK. the girls are not that big eaters, but in the evenings.....they do get hungry.
Thanks! Can't wait to be there!!!!!

1. Yes, exactly. That is what we did daily. We saved 2 CS for breakfast the next day and split our dinner meals which were usually HUGE!
2. Yes - any meal offered from sandwich to Roast of the Day!
3. Yes. But the desserts are NOT necessarily considered a "snack". You can get anything for dessert but only certain low end items qualify for snack credit unfortunately.
4. Haven't gotten kids meal in a few years now but from what I remember they were not particularly large. Sometimes if my girls got a pasta dish she might have gotten more one day than the other, but in general they were not large.
5. The places to go where you get the most out of your credits are Starlight Ray's (Chicken & rib combo or double cheeseburgers) in MK, and The Land food court (Seasons) in EPCOT.
On a side note - the Main Street Bakery in MK is best place to use snack credits. You can go there for cinnamon rolls or other gigantic pastries for breakfast or take back to your room for later. Also same at Starring Rolls in DHS. There is a whole chart somewhere on the Dining Boards about this stuff. You should check it out. If you don't find it PM me and I can send you the pages I downloaded last summer to you.

You get quite a bit of food for your Quick Service Credits at CS Pepper Market. Some of the menu items have changed - they no longer have the ribeye steak on the menu, but they had a pepper and onion steak - not sure the cut? Check the menus at allearsnet.com. You get the most value for Quick Service Choices at this resort compared to others. Your dining credits at counter service locations can be used in any order as you like, you can select as many entrees as you have credits. Snacks are certain items. You can even get 1 scoop of Gelato at the Gelato counter as a snack! Bakery items for snacks are limited, but you can often get any of them for a dessert item with your entree. Epcot has some good counter service locations too! Enjoy your stay!:flower3:

On the quick service plan you get 2 CS meals and 2 snacks/night of your stay, not days. So if you are there say five nights/six days, each person gets 10 CS meals, not 12. For some reason that confuses alot of people. If you arrive at WDW early and leave late, you will probably run short on credits. You can used them in any order you please though (one per day or even all 10 in a day if you wanted).
We've always been able to get a smoothie with our meal at the Pepper Market. There has never been any restriction on entrees--no matter the price. They used to have a rib eye with grilled veggies and fries that was pretty good, but the last couple of times we've had the steak it was really fatty and now is served only at dinner. They also used to have a really huge taco salad that was my husband's favorite.
One more point, remember that the tip is no longer included, as it was last year, but if you want to avoid the tip you can order your food to go and either eat it outside at those nice tables/booths overlooking the lake or take it back to your room.

hmmm... didn't realize the tip was no longer included. I never did understand why we had to pay 10% for them to get my drink? We will definitely get our food to go as I would much prefer to have an outdoor scenic view than sit indoors anyway:thumbsup2

I was told differently, that the tip IS INCLUDED with the DINING PLAN ONLY because usually at counter service locations, no tip is required. So, Disney pays this and takes care of this 10% add on charge to the servers for you. They pay it not you - this is only for counter service at Pepper Market, not Table Service where you pay the gratuity for your service. You can choose to take your food to go if you wish, but you need not worry if you choose to sit down inside and dine in the restaurant. The 10% charge is for those who do not have the dining plan which can also be avoided if you get "TO GO" stamped on your meal card upon arrival. I asked the manager as well as the cashier and was told that information and not to worry about the 10% charge. Ask when you get there - that is what I did.

There seems to be some misunderstanding or something regarding the 10% charge at Pepper Market. So, I called to verify my information.:confused3
I just got off the phone, calling Disney's Coronado Springs asking this question about the gratuity once again. Again I am told that YES there is a 10% Gratuity, but it is paid for NOT by you, with the Dining Plan and the credit system. Disney pays the 10% that is added on, and then your credit gets an adjustment at the register. You only pay 10% if you are NOT on the dining plan or take the food TO GO, then there is NO 10% added on. I would never want to mistreat a server by not paying any gratuity, so this is why I asked. The 10% is added but comes off your bill at check out for dine in service.
Again, I recommend you ask at Pepper Market at the register or speak to the manager explaining that you are on the dining plan, they will tell you their policy arrangement.

First, when you call the CSR you are NOT getting the CSR but the CRO (reservation center). As the Pepper Market is NOT owned by Disney and is run by an outside organization, unless you talked to the management at the Pepper Market directly, the answer could or could not be correct from whomever was spoken to.
The 10% is NOT included if you take your items to go. And the sign that we posted about three or four months ago indicated that the 10% was NOT included in the dining plan. So unless they (Pepper Market, NOT CSR) has changed their minds again, as of three months ago it was not included.

I would trust the words of KatMark she is a Coronado guru, if they have changed their policy and posted a sign as such - then they have changed things....
However, I called them 2 times now at Coronado Springs directly to ask and confirm the 10% tip issue, neither time could I be connected to the restaurant itself, only the Coronado operator. Apparently they don't have a direct line to the register area at PM. I was told I could be connected to the kitchen - but no one answered over there. The CM I was speaking to said she would find out for me and told me that she was typing my questions to someone to get me an answer. The response I received was yes there is a 10% charge unless it is TO GO but since it is a Quick Service location there should be no charge for the guest if you were on the DDP. I asked if it was included - the person who answered the phone at Coronado wasn't sure - so this is why my message got forwarded to another department. They confirmed that the 10% is added that was all - not sure, but said that with the dining plan - it should be taken care of.
In the past from my own experience, I would go with my food ticket to the register to pay either cash or use my Dining Credits with the DDP, when I paid cash after dining-in the charge was there on the bill and not if I ordered to go. If I used my Dining Credits - then the automatic 10% dining credit was taken care of by the plan - not by me - it was automatically adjusted and I was shown the receipt slip - told everything is included and not to worry. So, OK. Now I am not sure what to think - but I would most definitely ask and make sure.
t would be different if you received a check at the table for your bill and put the tip on the table - but since your check isn't totaled until you get to the register - all deductions were automatically adjusted at the register leaving me no outstanding balance. There was no amount of 10% to pay extra.
I have not seen the sign that others have, so I am not sure of what the policy is regarding this now. I think everyone agrees that there is a 10% charge for dine-in service and no 10% for To Go or takeout food.
My advice is to ask when your there so you don't over tip. I believe the staff deserves the 10% tip but not 20% especially when it is you who brings your food to the table and the wait staff brings you your drink.

This is so confusing as we went for a meal there last September and was on the QSDP and the gratuity was on the bill.
I KNOW!! It is crazy! We had one server, David from Brooklyn (the best!), who did not say one word about it. We had him once or twice. Then we had this other guy who was SO insane and pushy about the tip issue. Proceeded to go on for a good 3-4 minutes telling us how everyone makes the mistake of thinking that is included when it isn't, blah blah blah. So I said, "How come no other servers mentioned it to us and there is no sign up either?". He didn't really have an answer and just talked on and on. I certainly hope he didn't pull one over on us! But I figured "WHATEVA!" and left a tip to match the service.
I did not have a gratuity on any bills. I thought that was only if you are over a certain number of guests though...
