Just read on Disney Central Plaza that a Tea Room (sounds frightfully English !) has been introduced in the afternoon at Walt's, it's experimental at the moment. To me it brings to mind images rather like those on display in Plaza Gardens, very gentile. :goodvibes
No further information at the moment though.

Based on the suggestion made by JillRobinson on the main Walt's thread...
I wonder if this is could be something like the old tea party at Plaza Gardens. Although it's been moved to the Lucky Nugget, I wonder if maybe they're running something similar but perhaps waiter based.
That sounds quite a nice idea to me if they were to do it - it couldn't have to be expensive and you could be offered a choice from a selection of various cakes and drinks, but chosen from a menu (and the cakes would be posher and nicer than those offered at the tea party buffet).
Maybe I'm just dreaming, but I'd love it if they did actually do something like this. If anybody is going soon and wants to check out what this is about, then I'd be interested to know what they're doing.

You're on the same wavelength as me, old fashioned cake stands with pretty cakes and a selection of teas, we shall keep our fingers crossed. :thumbsup2
Disney Cental Plaza is a website, with a forum, which usually has really up to the minute info, there's a few CM's on there so it comes unofficially from the park. It's in French BTW. :)

For anybody who wants to read this site (or any other for that matter) in their native language, then if you visit http://translate.google.com, then select the relevant languages (French > English for most people). If you enter the address of the website into the big textbox and click the translate button, then it will show you the website translated into your language.
Unfortunately there hasn't been anything added about the tea room.

If it turns out to be like a PP decsribed/ wished for, it would be very nice for our day of departure: having tea/ cake before the ride back home!
(now, we usually eat at Cafe Mickey, way too much, and feel sick in the car from eating too much, lol)

Hello
Looking at DCP a few people have said
1. Test for now in afternoons - depends on numbers
2. Auberge de Cendrillon and Blue Lagoon do hot drink and gauffe (or crepe) for 5 euros
Would be lovely to experience ADC without paying for the princess meal

This seems a really good idea - allowing people into the nicest themed restaurants without having to pay for an expensive sit down meal. It strikes me as a far nicer setting for something like this than a random table down one of the arcades or outside one of the huts :goodvibes
Here's hoping that it stays - and also (from my point of view) that they offer cold drinks and maybe some simple cakes.

Noticed today that the tea room is up & running.
Looks like they only do Mickey shapped waffles for 4.95 euros, with a choice of whipped cream, sugar, chocolate sauce, or raspberry coulis. Also, hot & cold drinks.

I'll have to pop in next time I'm there. DW used to like the tea parties at the Plaza Gardens.

Walts sounds a good idea but I can't say I'm impressed about Auberge. It costs and arm and a leg to go there for a meal and undoubtedly it is the best chance of great Princess interaction in the park - imo this does make it worth it as I have a Princess mad DD. But, how on earth are they going to seperate those who have paid 5 euros for a drink/cake and those who have paid 50 plus euros for a whole experience.... Will it be at non character times?
I'm all for DLRP making money where they can but I think they have to be careful not to alienate those that are paying bigger bucks for stuff IYSWIM.
I don't mean this to sound snobby by any means (please don't shoot me down!), but I wouldn't be happy to be 'sharing' our character interaction after paying 100 euros plus, with a family next to me who have paid 15 euros for a drink....?? I think the exclusive feel of it adds to the experience imo.
I think the likes of Cafe Mickey where you can literally buy a pizza bet two or a whole 3 course meal and still get character interaction is great but I don't think this should be shared in every character venue.... :sad2:

I agree, we probably would not have purchased the Premium Vouchers if we could have had the same character interaction for a cake and a drink. I understood that Auberge would be busy when we go but I think if this is introduced it will just become hectic :sad2: I am looking forward to the food don't get me wrong but it's a hefty price to pay for what it is. :sad2:

The thread was started in February so although it has been confirmed that this has started at Walts there is no confirmation that it has started any where else
Disney make a lot of money from people eating at Auberge because they want to meet the Princesses so I cant imagine they will dilute this by allowing people to get the same experience for a few Euros as they would immediatly lose a lot of money.
If they do introduce this to Auberge I can imagine it will be a non charcter experience or outside in the courtyard area where they used to serve drinks before i think

:confused3 I'm getting a bit confused now ~ has there ever been any mention of this starting at Auberge or are you just hoping it doesn't happen, Patsy? Noticed today that the tea room is up & running.

There was a large sign outside the Blue Lagoon in March, so was definately being offered there then. :)

I agree with A Small World ~ Disney aren't going to risk alienating guests and losing the revenue from the Princess meals. I think it will either be offered between lunch and dinner without any characters present or will be outside in the courtyard.
It will be interesting to see what transpires.

Last week I didn't see either of these signs. So I don't know if they have stopped doing them or just don't the tea / quick lunch these during the busier months.
