Hi everyone! Just checking in to let you all know I have NOT abandoned my little trippie here - although it is much easier to do these TRs during the winter when you are stuck in indoors and sitting at the computer for the majority of the day. Now with the weather warming up, I find that we are in the house less and less.

Anyway, no excuses. I've just returned from a mini-DISmoms trip to WDW - which was a blast! We will be doing a TR for that trip as well but I am determined to finish this one before I start another! I'm going back to bed to catch up on some sleep (ME picked me up yesterday morning at 5am - NOT FUN!) but I hope to put the installment of Lauren and mine's last night in Epcot up this afternoon!

I know it's pretty pathetic that I'm JUST replying back to all of you but I did want to thank you for your Mother's Day wishes. Better later than never,right? ;)

Welcome aboard! I'm glad you came about of lurkdom! Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope these trips with Lauren will leave her with fond memories also. And I hope to be able to do them for many more years to come! As for the Jonas Brothers concert - I may start a pre-trip report for our family trip in December and I will be sure to be posting all of the details and pix on that!

Actually Lauren's costume is a Halloween costume that me and the girls wore one year - so that means both me and Amanda have one also. Glad I got more use out of it.

When I last left off about a bazillion years ago, Lauren and I had left MK and were headed back to the BW for our last night in Epcot. We had dinner ADRs in Canada at LeCellier - a tradition of ours. We ALWAYS have our last night dinner there! YUM!

As we went through the turnstiles, who do we see standing on the other side but Peter Pan. He was just standing there, talking to what appeared to be a CM, but not a "handler". No one was going near him though.

We continued on our merry way and were now faced with the age-old question when one enters Epcot through IG: stay straight and head into UK for a pint; or hop over the bridge to France for a slushie! Well since I had yet to have a slushie, AND it was our last night, guess which way we went?

Sooo good! I adore Grand Marnier so I'm not surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did. I now can say that I definitely give BOTH slushies in France TWO thumbs up!

Not a clear shot, if you ask me. Whatever. I won't pass up a photo op.

I will say I found Norway to be the most unexciting mission. Alot of the clues were in the same area and didn't require much walking through the pavillion. But it was another one we checked off our list.

The bag is the Overland Donner bag and I LOVE it! I can pack ALOT in there and it has two compartments on the outside for water bottles. I got mine at REI outlet. Check out their website; sometimes they are on sale.

No, this was his only time acting. He had a couple of friends in the play so I guess they convinced him to do it. He does play in his school's steel drum band. He loves that. The steel drums and the marching band from his school actually performed in the Magic Kingdom this past Nov.

Yes, the Jonas Brothers concert is on Friday. And Lauren is experiencing full-blown OJD (obsessive Jonas disorder). She is consumed 100% these days and is beyond excited for the show. My good friend has been in contact with the JB connection and I'm told we WILL be meeting them. I still have to speak to this person myself to get the details; and it's making me nervous because he hasn't called back yet. My friend has told me not to worry because it will happen. I just want to talk to him myself to feel better.;)

Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to tell Lauren the day before the concert. I don't want to deprive her of the anticipation and daydreaming about meeting her celebrity crush. And, besides, I think she'd really like the opportunity to pick out something special to wear. I'll be sure to come back and post here the pictures - hopefully of both meeting them and some pix fromt the show. (LOL - the Nick Jonas diabetes commercial just came on) Anyhoo.......

As for the planner - did you get yours yet? We FINALLY got ours - but it wasn't until just a few weeks ago. Everyone I know had theirs much sooner before us. I will have to scan the picture and post it here also. I'm hoping some people are still around who will be interested.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting soon. If I remember correctly, we will both be in WDW the same time in Dec. Maybe we could plan a meet?

Hi guys! Quick stop by - busy day.;)

Lauren woke up with a big smile on her face and is still delirious. Also very nervous - she's consumed with thinking of something to say to JB when she meets them. I'll admit, I'm nervous for her too. I've told her she just definitely needs to make sure she gets hugs. She'll regret it if she didn't.

She's decided to wear a Yankee shirt. Her logic - EVERYONE will have on JB shirts; the boys are big Yankee fans and they're in Red Sox country. She thinks they'll "connect". LOL. But, of course, she's bringing her JB shirt to change into after.

Lauren and I will be heading into Boston a little early today to have lunch so I don't have time to upload and post her reaction pix (it's 1 or 2 anyway). I'll post pix of all the happenings by Sunday; and will send texts as stuff unfolds tonite. Just don't know if I'll be able to reply.

My cousin used to love linkin park, and she read a couple of times how they loved Jelly Belly, so she took them Jelly Bellys (she went to every night they did concerts), and waited outside before and after.

They even remembered her for it over different tours, and always called her 'Jelly Bean girl!' So Lauren is definitely smart to wear the shirt! :)

I hope she has an amazing time! I can't imagine how excited she must be!!

Busy day today. Got in very late last night; which means, of course, we slept late.:laughing: Have to get Lauren over to her dad's; then I'm going to the Elton John/Billy Joel concert tonite with a friend.

As for the Jonas Brothers concert, which Lauren will forever now refer to as the Greatest Day of Her Life -- it was amazing, from start to finish! We have many, many pictures which I am in the process of uploading and will share here. Hopefully, since I have the day to myself tomorrow, I'll be able to get it done then. Suffice it to say: wearing that Yankee shirt was the best decision Lauren ever made! Not only did Joe and Nick notice, but Joe made a HUGE deal about it. He pretty much kept his arm wrapped around her and insisted that because we were Yankee fans that we were to get THREE pix taken, not just the one.

Ok guys - you asked for it, so you're going to get it. I've decided to make this a mini-TR within a TR.

Since Lauren has now officially declared July 17th as the greatest day of her life, I feel the strong need to document it and share the experience with all of you. Also -- I took a boatload of photos and I've got to do something with them! :laughing:

So fair warning to you all: my next few posts will be completely JB-centered!

For those of you who may not have read my pre-trs in the past, I have talked often of Lauren's obsession with the Jonas Brothers. Before this past Friday, she had seen them twice in concert and is a very enthusiastic supporter of all things Jonas related, with the youngest Nick being her favorite.

Unfortunately for Lauren, the majority of her friends do not share the same enthusiasm, which makes me sad for her. :sad1:

Fortunately for Lauren, she has a mother who has grown to enjoy the Jonas Brothers music and I do not mind accompanying her to these concerts. In all honesty, they put on a really good show and lord knows, there are worse things she could be into. So yeah, I happily support her addiction. :)

Anyway, long story short - the tickets for their summer tour went on sale in March and the one friend that likes them also was going to be away at camp and wouldn't be able to go. So it was to be just Lauren and I. After sitting on the Ticketmaster site for 45 minutes, and throwing back seats that I did not think were good enough, I finally scored two tickets - 7 rows off the floor, front and center of the main catwalk. :woohoo:

On top of scoring great seats, a very good friend from college reveals to me that he is very good friends with someone who works closely with the Jonas Brothers. AND he could arrange for us to get meet & greet passes! :yay:

Well, not only did this "friend" get us meet & greet passes, he also arranged for us to attend a private soundcheck party that the band has before every concert! :dance3:

I kept this secret from Lauren for months and finally decided to tell her the night before the concert.

Now, as I discussed earlier, Lauren was originally planning to wear a JB shirt. But after discovering she would be meeting them, she had a change of plans. She went with her Yankee shirt. She's a Yankee fan; the Jonas Brothers are Yankee fans - helloooooo! Best decision ever!

I went with the JB concert shirt. What the heck, right? I like them; I'm not embarassed to show it.

We had to arrive for soundcheck by 4pm so we decided to head into Boston a little earlier to get some lunch beforehand. It was going to be a long night and this was going to be our only meal of the day.

We finished up lunch quickly and headed over to the Garden by 3:15. (anxious much?) We had our wristbands in hand and got into the soundcheck line!

Soundcheck was running very late. (come to find out that Nick and Kevin had a hard time getting up to Boston because of weather issues in NJ, where they were). Finally - by 5pm, we were heading in!

My oldest son works at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee as a 2nd job, when these big gigs like the Jonas brothers comes to town. His employer begs him to get family and friends to help work. My daughters worked the Hannah Montana concert last year and they each made over $500 selling t-shirts ect. This time he couldn't find anyone, so I said I would, since it was a Thursday nite. We sold out of everything. My son would run to other parts of the stadium, and check items out of their division, and bring them into ours. It was crazy. We didn't get hom till 2:30 a.m. and he had to be back up at 6:00 a.m. to get to work. My dd got up that morning and shook her head at us, and said, "that is why I refused to help". I don't care, easiest $500 bucs I'll ever make.

Let's just say, I smiled when I saw you order this before the concert. :drinking1 I saw more mom's go to the beer stand that evening.

I enjoyed your pictures, I only got to see them on the monitor.

Did you hear one of the Jonas brothers is getting married. He apparently met her on a family vacation in the Bahama's. That is my Jona's brothers tidbit of the day.

We were lucky - since we got in early for soundcheck, we got to the souvenir stands before everyone else and pretty much had our pick. By halfway through the night, they were out of alot of things. I'm glad we were able to get Lauren and Amanda (and me) the shirts we wanted.

The black curtain is pulled back. Lauren goes in first and immediately walks to the right, where the Jonas Brothers are lined up. I walk in behind her and notice their security guard Big Rob sitting right in front of me. Now Big Rob is this GIGANTIC man who also raps on one of their songs. The man looks like a oversized teddy bear and has become semi-famous himself. So I went up and gave him a high-five.

He said "How are ya, darling?" :thumbsup2

But by doing that, I have now kind of lost track as to what is going on with Lauren. I really would have liked to have seen her interaction; but I'm dealing with my own now. And it's kind of a blur.

I just remember Jonas faces.

First, the oldest Kevin - very sweetly shakes my hand and introduces himself. Next is the youngest Nick - and this is what sticks with me the most out of this experience. This 16yr.old kid takes my hand into both of his hands, and while shaking it, looks me right in the eye and is thanking me so much for being there. Oh lord - I just wanted to squeeze him. He was just the most adorable thing EVER and so sincere. I felt like saying "you're thanking me? Do you have any idea what you're doing to my daughter right now?". But then I remembered not to embarass her and instead thanked him so much for doing this and he said it was their pleasure.

It is now at this point that I snap out of my trance and become aware of what is happening with my daughter and the middle Jonas Brother.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Joe Jonas with a very firm grip around Lauren's shoulders and leading her over the to other side of the room. According to Lauren, in the middle of meeting Nick, who by the way - shook her hand, gave her shirt a thumbs up and replied "Yankees - good, good, good!"; Joe interrupted with a huge smile on his face at the sight of her Yankee shirt. He was THRILLED to see another Yankee fan there and he was now pulling her over to some Boston Garden employees to taunt them.

"See? ANOTHER Yankee fan in Boston. YES! YES! YES! Yankees rule!" He then turns to the photographer and tells him that awesome Yankee fans get THREE pictures taken. "Not one (like everybody else); but three!" The whole time, he has not taken his arm off of her.

She.Is.DYING!!!!!

Security is now telling us to line up for the picture. Ummm - but I still have not shaken Joe's hand. And I will NOT be leaving without shaking Joe Jonas' hand! ;)

They snapped three pix - although I do wish we had time to change up the pose a bit. But oh well; having three pix taken ensured that we had 3 choices of good pix. With the pix being done, our turn is over and it's time to say goodbye. :sad1:

Joe, with his arm still around Lauren, walks with her towards the exit and tells her that if anyone out there gives her a hard time about being a Yankee fan, she needs to come back and tell him. (yeah, we need your number to do that, Joe.:rolleyes:)

He finally turns to me. He took my hand (two-handed again), shakes it and thanks me for coming, saying he loves to see fellow Yankee fans.

So now, here are the three meet and greet photos. Yes, they are different. Trust me, Lauren has examined them very closely and she has her favorite and her least favorite. :laughing:

On our way out of the meet and greet area, we were able to finally see, and meet, the man who helped make this all possible - Mike, our new best friend!

Lauren is in a trance still and there isn't much time to chat because he has his duties. But we hugged him and thanked him repeatedly. Such a nice guy!

On very wobbly legs, I walked Lauren over to a lounge area so she could steady herself. And, of course, we both now had some mad-texting to do!

It was such a great experience and I was so impressed with the Jonas Brothers. They do this type of thing day in and day out, and yet they never seem bored or disinterested. Just so sweet, nice, friendly and genuine.

But I'm not surprised. They are, after all, Jersey boys! :snooty:





That whole thing made me smile like a geek.

Hi just found your trip report today, I was looking for some disney magic so thanks Loved your trip! and super job on the concert! I was able to take my daughter when she was 13 to see Jessie McCartney and got a meet and greet too. I didn't tell her about it till we were at the show. She was sooo amazed and has never worn the shirt she had on again :cloud9: we only got about 2seconds with him in a hallway and they took a polorid(sp?) which she spent all nite looking and smiling at and still keeps it in her cd holder in the car. That was 3 years ago! I'm off to read your mom's weekend report thanks for sharing

As for the Billy/Elton concert - oh boy. Saw all of Elton. He was great. Saw some of Billy - he was fantastic. BUT I had to leave early - let's just say my gf doesn't know when to say when.:rolleyes1 I was not happy considering it was my birthday! This was totally out of character for her. And we went for cheap seats - never again. I like sitting up close.:snooty: But on the good side, I did get to hear Billy Joel perform "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant". Probably one of my all-time faves!

As for that fanny pack, it was part of his costume for the soundcheck party (I posted pix further back in the thread). I think he was dressing as a nerdy tourist; guess he liked the fanny pack and decided to hold onto it. It's working for him though, don't you think?:laughing:

DAWN! How the heck are you? I've been so MIA from the DIS for most of the summer and have completely lost touch with all of the TRs I was subbing to. I've noticed you had your NYC report up. I need to check into that and see how it all went!

I actually got to meet and go to the Demi Lovato concert last night with a friend who won passes/tickets. They also didn't do autographs and were pretty strict about one person at a time, only their camera, etc. She is gorgeous in person and so sweet. And she can SING HER FACE OFF! Anyways, I wonder if it's a Disney thing?

You know, my friend is a huge JoBros fan and I really didn't want to go with her to the show. But after reading about how sweet they were it made me want to go see them! I am so excited for you guys - what an AMAZING and unforgettable experience!!! Can't wait for more photos!

Lauren was BEYOND nervous a full 24 hrs. before meeting them. But once we were in line, this calm came over her. It was like "Game On!":goodvibes

We saw Demi last summer when she opened for JB - Lauren loved her cd. I don't know if the meet & greets are a Disney thing - or a Jonas thing. I've taken Lauren to see Miley before and I don't think she does them.:confused3 It's a wonderful thing to do for the fans though.

This was my first time using my Nikon Coolpix at a concert so it was a little challenging. Found the flash was necessary for the pix on the catwalk but any pix of the center stage really didn't need it. It also didn't help matters that the whole stage revolved throughout the whole show - which led to some blurry pictures.

Photobucket is VERY limited with the size of video you can upload, I cannot recall the size; however, if that's a full length song from the sound check-I'm bettin' it's too large. And instead of giving you an error that makes sense, like oh, say "Hey Dude, your video is too big", it gives you a "Server Error". I ran into it over and over again in the past.

So....I switched to YouTube. It's free, the uploading seems a lot faster, the site almost always works without issue, and your video can be up to 10 MINUTES long. :thumbsup2

I agree with you 100% - such a nice group of people. :) And yes, 5 is probably a little too young. We had a little girl across the aisle from us who didn't look much older than 4 or 5 - wearing those headphones you see on construction sites. The poor thing - they didn't seem to be helping; she was pretty much bawling the whole time.

Oh my goodness - no, you haven't crossed the line. I always tell people to just ask away. I don't mind at all!

Amanda can't verbalize but works with a switch at school to make choices and communicate simple things. It's debatable how much she actually understands. Lauren and I like to think she's aware and understands everything around her; unfortunately some people don't always treat her like that.:mad: We always believe she knows what's going on.;) (please don't ever feel bad about asking questions. Knowledge is a good thing.)

You need to check out Saturday Night Fever - if only to marvel at John Travolta's dance moves. During the play, they ran the video of his big dance number on a video screen; Lauren couldn't believe that was the same guy who played Edna in the movie Hairspray!

Oh Tammie - you're so sweet. I do feel Amanda expresses alot through her eyes. They just seem to brighten when she's interested or excited! And no, I didn't find the dress. The classroom staff went to a thrift store. They even found the three-piece whit disco suit for the John Travolta character.:)

There were signs at our soundcheck but I think it depends on the venue. Usually they don't allow signs into the concert - and once you're in for soundcheck, you're in for the concert. Last year, at a different arena, security did not allow posters at all. I think it's just going to depend how strict security is at the place you're going.

Lauren's bestfriend since preschool was very disappointed to miss the concert in July because she was away. The Jonas Brothers have now added two shows at a resort/casino in Ct. - less than 2 hours from our house. My girlfriend called and suggested we make a mom/daughter day (or overnight - still undecided) trip out of it and take the girls.

Lauren's reaction? :hyper: :dance3:

The concert is the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend - perfect timing. It's a long, holiday weekend so there are no worries about schoolwork or weekend activities. The other mom took care of the tickets so I have no idea where seats are but Lauren doesn't care. She'll be IN the building - that's all that matters to her! :love:

Now she and her friend just need to do the weeding at my house and her friend's until the fall to pay off the tickets. ;)

I met the American Idols this weekend so I now know how she felt meeting the JoBros, LOL. Although the JoBros are WAY cooler! My friend is a huge fan and they come here tomorrow (well technically today!) and there are pretty decent seats on Ticketmaster! 7th row center in the lower bowl. They must save some seats for last minute because it said it was sold out last time she checked!

So now we are going and I came on here because I only know a few songs! Ask Lauren which songs I should download and listen to before the show! I am getting excited even though I'm not even a huge fan and am 22! Hahaha but your pictures and stories made me think this might be fun :)

How exciting for you! I had heard that sometimes really good seats are released before a show. You'll have a great time.

Lauren says you should listen to all of their CDs because all of their songs are good. HaHa!;)

But seriously, after sitting here and thinking about it for a good ten minutes, her favorite songs from the concert she thinks you should download: Much Better, Turn Right and World War 3 from their new CD; Lovebug & Burning Up are good singalong songs in the concert so she thinks you should know the words to those two; and the two songs Nick does at the piano by himself - Black Keys and A Little Bit Longer. (and fyi - I think this is the hardest she has thought all summer! :laughing: )

For what it's worth - I really like Much Better and Year 3000. Fun songs in concert. But I do agree with my daughter, they're all good. :goodvibes

PS We met all of the Idols and they were all nice! Allison was my favorite during the show, but Matt G was my favorite guy. I got to sit next to him at the piano in the hotel lobby and he played my favorite songs and sang to me. I know no one knows who he is - especially now that Idol is over - but it was totally my teenybopper moment and I loved every second! Hahaha! I voted for Adam once Allison was gone, and I'm glad I did because he was SO nice, SO cool, and really knows how to entertain an audience. I will say though that Kris Allen almost seems embarrassed/guilty because everyone at the concerts makes it obvious that they are there to see Adam. Kris was so humble and SO SO SO grateful and probably the nicest one we met!! Alright enough blabbing I will PM you the pictures!

But then I saw your mini-TR and read your story about meeting them and agreed to go with my friend. She said the show had been sold out so she would look on eBay and StubHub. She kept telling me prices and I went to look on Ticketmaster just to SEE what face value was and how much more I'd be paying. But when I clicked on there they had really good seats left!

We had our concert THursday night and they were AWESOME!!!! we had a suite and it was great! I didn't sit the entire night!! I had to shower when I got home cause I was so sweaty! LOL! I screamed as much as the girls did lol!!

See, I left the camera at home...

But it wasn't ENTIRELY my fault.

See, the 'rents had been on their anniversary trip to the Bahamas...

Which went wrong...

So they didn't pick me up from my best friend's house...

Til the morning of the concert...

And the concert was at 7...

In Boston...

An hour + away...

And we still had to pick up my friend...

AND their flight didn't come in til 2:30 a.m. from Newark.

SOOOOOOOO to make a long story short, the camera was at home, and all I had was my wonderful Razr's camera (which didn't work so well, especially not for video).

Yes we bought them at about 1am the night before the show! My friend had been begging me to go and I really didn't want to. But then I saw your mini-TR and read your story about meeting them and agreed to go with my friend. She said the show had been sold out so she would look on eBay and StubHub. She kept telling me prices and I went to look on Ticketmaster just to SEE what face value was and how much more I'd be paying. But when I clicked on there they had really good seats left!

I was thinking about dressing as a JoBro fan (young teenager fan) and having DH go as one of the JoBros (since he already has the curly black hair!).

What should we wear??

I was thinking...
Him: black tank top, tight jeans with black boots, sunglasses, styled (wet look) hair. What else could we do?

Me: JoBros shirt, wrist bracelet (as if I'm at the concert), "I love..." necklace, glow sticks, mini(ish) skirt

Lauren and her two friends actually went as JB last year for Halloween. Amanda was Hannah Montana; I played a teenage fan; my girlfriend was a paparazzi and her husband was Big Rob. Most of our neighbors didn't know who the hell we were, but we had fun with it!:laughing:

Where are you trying to get tix to? Don't they only have like one or two shows left? Sorry if you haven't found any - but live through our pix! Put on one of their CDs and it can be just like you were there. ;)

HaHa. I have the Razr. Crappy phone that takes crappy pix - no flash and pathetic zoom, right?

I find the Razr to be adequate except in the area of camera/video. (Though I have used it to get pics of things at PPAC. No cameras allowed + Razr = I get a good pic or two of the Wicked curtain)

I can't stand my phone. Am counting down the days until mid-Sept. until I get upgrade. Lauren just upgraded to the EnV touch (I think?). I hate that my child has a better phone than me. ;)

Don't worry, I'll probably still have this TR open and will tell you all about the next one. Our seats aren't nearly as good though. My girlfriend thinks we may be in the very last row! :headache:

And, no I haven't started a ptr for our Dec. trip. I thought it would be irresponsible of me since I have yet to finish this one and I'm in the middle one with two other moms from our trip in May. I may throw one together in Oct. I'll let you know when I'm posting on your ptr if I do!

YES!!! And I used the online ADR system - couldn't believe how easy it was! I got everything I wanted - at the times I wanted. :thumbsup2

I'm still a little unorganized with this trip though so I still have two nights open. Still need to figure out where to go; and not exactly sure of what our day plans are yet. I have two nurses coming with us to help me with Amanda: one the first part of the week; the second for the last part of the week. Just not sure when the first one is leaving and the second one is coming. I want to optimize the extra help so that's why I'm trying to plan things accordingly.
