Great update! Too funny about all the Jonas Bros. madness! Reminds me of my middle school obsession with NKOTB. :rotfl2:

I really had a good laugh with this. MY spaish teacher is obsessed with NKOTB and she even went to one of the concerts over the summer

Love it!! I really needed an update- I was having Cammie TR withdrawals!:rotfl: Plus i needed to take a break from trying to figure out dance moves to Pink, Nickleback and AARejects to teach Timmy and a bunch of 4th graders tonight at Variety Show rehearsal.:scared:

I'm embarassed to admit that the only artist who's songs I know that you mentioned is Pink.

You were right! That animation stuff looks like a blast! I may have to check that out with a few friends in May...:rolleyes1 ;)

I love that you have such a great time hanging out with Lauren- she's an awesome kid, that's for sure! WTG, Mom!:thumbsup2

Ok...back to dance school. If anyone's looking in my windows, they're probably thinking I'm some kind of spastic freak! :scared1: Oh boy.....

Thanks Ellen. Lauren is awesome.

And, btw, I seem to remember from your "Random Facts" that you do like dancing around your house to music, so I'm sure your neighbors are already used to it!

american idol looks like a interesting attraction, i cant wait to see it in person.

It is very cool! If you're a fan of the show, I think you'll enjoy it!

What a great update....I am definitely taking time to go to the Animation stuff next year. I think DHS gets the bum rap but we loved it.

I agree Theresa. DHS has alot of "informative" attractions, which when the girls were little, we would just blow right by. Now that they are older, they can appreciated them more - and they are pretty entertaining!

you can tell she's embarassed in this picture!

She was embarassed - but she loved the attention!

this is so cool!

She has about four photo albums at her station - they are at either side of the television. We were looking through them; it was cool!

it looks like he's trying to attack her or something and lauren's just not too sure about him. these are some characters i've never met - will have to do that one day!

I love getting pictures with Sully - he's so big and blue. The pictures are always funny!

i've only been through here once but we didn't do the computer games. another thing we'll have to do next time! sounds fun.

We had never even noticed these things. We were always waiting on the line to see Mickey; never paid attention to anything else around us.

that sounds really cool! thanks for all the photos and explaining how it works. i was wondering about it!

It was a fun show. I think it would be cool to be at the last show of the day because then you'd get to see all eight winners from the day perform.

Yea!!!! Love the AI pics - we didn't get in this weekend as we only spent a few hrs at DHS this time. But we did see the camera crew filming a guy outside who was jumping up and down with his "ticket" and just going nuts! it looked like fun! Weird that the wait times were so long! We just had 10 minute waits for most everything this weekend. Even though at one point the posted wait for Test Track was 40 minutes, we walked on. Literally. Same with ToT and RnR - I don't know if they were trying to scare people off or what. But it seemed to be the theme of our weekend......

We were there during President's week and it was pretty crowded. And it always seemed that the posted wait times were always LESS than what it really turned out to be.

The picture of Lauren debating her desserts is adorable. Her facial expression is so cute!

I think the Animation Courtyard is so much fun, I want to do the drawing class in May. Sounds like a nice way to get a break from park touring too.

I have to say that I am not that interested in the American Idol attraction but after seeing those photos I might have to check out a show!

Honestly, I wasn't too excited about going into AI either; but we were there as they were starting to let people in and we figured - why not? I'm glad we did - it was fun.

Wow, Cammie! I could never, ever, just change my plans spur-of-the-moment like that! Especially when ADRs were involved! You really pulled it off, though! :thumbsup2

And yours is the first TR I've read that included the new American Idol attraction! Cool! That set does look authentic...

Looking forward to the special birthday treat for Lauren!!

Kathy

I'm not good with a change in the game plan either but I was feeling the same itch to be in Epcot also. We didn't get much done there but we did love just walking around.

The American Idol thing looks wow! We might have to do it this summer. What a great mom to change plans that morning... I am not sure I could handle that.... but you are right it was her birthday trip. Also waiting in line for Test Track--- Lauren is super lucky to have such a fantastic mom!

That's why I enjoy these trips with Lauren so much. We know we'll be back as a family soon, so I can make these trips be just about her and her whims.

I just love that face at PrimeTime, Cammie! It is just too stinkin cute! :goodvibes

Holy Smokes - you did great getting out of TT at 11:30 and making your ressie! WOW! I'm totally impressed!

Well, we were still 10 minutes late for our ADR but........yeah, I'm a fast walker. Must be from all those years working in Manhattan.;)

Sounds like you had a great day! AI looks like fun! Lauren looks so embarassed in front of two desserts!

Cmon, no RnRC? Oh, I'll be waiting for you guys to conquer it! ;)

I was really willing to do RnRC - but Lauren didn't. I think she'll only do it again if she's forced - and she knows I won't force her!

I just noticed Lauren in the corner! Her face is hilarious! :cutie:
(sorry for double post)

I know! I didn't realize I had gotten her in the picture until I uploaded the pix to my computer!

A little late, but I'm jumping on board. Great TR!!!

Looks like you had a fantastic time!!

Thanks for joining in Rora! Glad you're enjoying it!

You two really know how to have a good time at WDW. It looks like you are having a blast!

Well, we've had ALOT of practice...............;) !

YAY new updates:cool1:

Test Track is my favorite ride in disney but the first 3 or 4 times we rode it we waited 120 min each time:scared1: Now we just do the single rider(wish more rides has this:sad2: ) The rides so good it has alittle bit of everything.

We haven't been to DHS in forever. I can't wait to do American Idol Experience next time we go. Would you resommand the magic of disney animation ,we've never done it and if you think its worth it I might want to try it:thumbsup2

I suggested the single rider line to Lauren and she didn't want to do it. She didn't see the point of being on the ride with people she doesn't know - and besides, we like to make funny faces together for the picture at the end!

I would recommend the Disney animation attraction - but it is time consuming, especially the drawing class. The instructor goes v-e-r-y slowly; I guess because he's teaching a class of all ages. But it was fun to do.

I saw that too LOL

I loved this installment! I also ate at the 50's prime time and thought it was awesome. We got a great waitor and I think we might have had the same seats you did :thumbsup2

A good CM is key to a good time at PTC. We also ate there in Nov. w/my sister and her family. The CM had my 7yr.old neice helping her set and clear tables. It was so funny - she didn't know what to make of it!

"This is why I love my kid so much - she's so much fun to hang out with!"

This made me smile really big.:goodvibes

We're going to have to check out the Disney Animation thing, we always just walk right by it. Can't wait to check out American Idol!!

Glad to make you smile, Kathy!:goodvibes Disney Animation and AI were alot of fun! And this is why I love going to Disney every year - there is always something new to try out!

Oh my goodness! I just had to say, I saw a commercial for the new television series, JONAS, coming this May!!! It was hilarious! Kevin got stuck on a fire pole!

Oh, we've seen it too! As Lauren says: "I can't believe I'm going to be able see the Jonas Bros. on a tv show EVERY week!" She's looking forward to May! :hyper:

Hi Cammie! It's great that the two of you could be so flexible and fun!:thumbsup2 I can't wait to see AI! We have seen the show part of the animation studio, and we went through the shop where the artists are, but we didn't see where the drawing place was - DH does want to buy a print from the shop near there - they have original sketch prints - isn't it right next to this attraction?:confused3

It was funny, Tammie - there didn't seem to be a very obvious sign pointing out the animation class. I had a hard time finding it too; I happened to see a turnstile w/ a CM by it; I asked what it was for and he told me. I can't remember exactly where it was but I remember, while standing outside of the room, we were looking down on where the Bolt characters were. So it's all in the same giant room where you find Sorcerer Mickey also. Just off in a corner.

Great second day!! I just love this TR!! More more more! :teeth:

Thanks torsie! More is coming up soon!:thumbsup2

Great update, Cammie! Sounds like Day 3 was a great one! I applaud your spontaneity, and the fact that you STILL made your ADR at 50s! That's a great picture of Lauren trying to decide her priorities on dessert!

We are very excited about doing the AI experience. In fact, we changed our dinner ADR at Flying Fish from 7:05pm to 7:45pm so that we can see the final AI show of the day and still have plenty of time to walk over to the Boardwalk. We've never been to the Boardwalk, so we are excited about going...and I would like to get over there a little early and just hang out.

Also, DD really liked the looks of the Magic of Disney Animation. Both she and DS are very artistic, and I think they would get a kick out of doing their own drawing. What a great souvenir!

Hi Cammie! I've been enjoying your report and decided to come out of lurkdom to let you know how much I can relate to your Disney trip with a 13yr. old girl. I try to take DGD13 at least once a year and I'm sometimes amazed at how much our trips have changed from when she was a little girl. Fewer rope drops and character breakfasts and a lot more pm EMH's! But just as much (maybe more?) fun!

Oh, and the constant texting! :lmao: Last trip I finally said something to Haleigh about it and her response was "I know, I know...but do you know how hard it is to talk to just ONE person for A WEEK!" :rotfl: From that point on, I looked at it a little differently...and was just glad that she was still willing at her age to give up her friends to hang with her grandma for a week! :goodvibes

BTW, she won't do RnRC either!

50sPTC is a really fun dining experience when you get a CM that's really into it! We had fun.

Oh I can't wait to hear you report back on the last AI show Alan - I think it would be fun to a be a part of it. And don't worry about walking around the BW - there will still be stuff going on when you get out of dinner too!

Okay Kara - here it is. You have to MAKE Cammie do this in May. YOU SO HAVE TO!

I want a picture too! :snooty:

DON'T THINK SO! I was willing to make that sacrifice for my child; not willing to do it for a creepy internet friend!:lmao:

This installment is mostly food porn, so if you don't want to drool, you might want to skip it.(although there are still some cute shots of Lauren!)

I last left off with Lauren and I departing DHS and heading over to the Boardwalk area for dinner.

One last shot of my baby girl in DHS:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04230.jpg

It was almost 7pm and our ADRs at The Yachtsman weren't until 7:35. Since we had the time, I decided to spare my child the "horribly long walk" (her words) over there, and instead opted to wait for the boat.

Ms. Lazybones was very happy:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04232.jpg

I did insist that we not get off at the BC/YC but instead get off at the BW - and then walk around. It's so pretty over there and I just love to walk around that lake!

We arrived at The Yachtsman right on time and were seated promptly.

Lauren ordered a Sprite:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04236.jpg

I had a Pommegranite Martini:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04234.jpg

Lauren was thrilled she had a birthday menu. But it wasn't personalized because I forgot to give them her name!:headache:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04237.jpg

Soon after, the rolls, butter and roasted garlic arrived. These are soooo good! Seriously, the garlic spreads like butter!:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04235.jpg

For dinner, Lauren ordered the 8oz.filet w/mashed potatoes & red wine sauce:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04238.jpg

I had the NY Strip Steak w/peppercorn brandy sauce & potato gratin w/diamond white cheddar cheese:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04239.jpg

I also ordered a glass of Jade Mountain Mourvedre (I had never heard of it; our wonderful CM Yun had recommended it.) Delicious!
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04240.jpg

Both Lauren and I REALLY enjoyed our steaks. They were cooked perfectly! But we weren't crazy about our potatoes. Lauren felt her mashed potatoes were too lumpy and not creamy enough. My potato gratin (and I can't believe I'm going to say this!) were too cheesy! I love my cheesy potatoes but this was just cheddar overload. Oh well - left more room for my steak!

We put in our dessert order but before they were served, Lauren received a special extra treat:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04241.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04242.jpg

The birthday dessert was choc.mousse covered w/a choc.crumb topping. It was tasty, but she was saving herself for the dessert she REALLY wanted - the gelato trio w/fresh whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate sauce. Look at this thing!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04246.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04245.jpg

Mine was just as impressive and delicious - the Bananas Napolean:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04247.jpg

Oh.My.Goodness.

Both of these desserts were AMAZING!!! We were, once again, thrilled with our meal here. This is our second time eating at The Yachtsman and both times were great. And I have to give a shout out to the service - so friendly and attentive. This place was packed yet our CM was always around, and always had a smile on her face.

When we were finally done stuffing ourselves, we were on our way over to the BW bakery;(no we weren't interested in eating some more; just wanted to pick up something for breakfast the next day). We noticed that Illuminations was just starting so we stop on the BW bridge to watch......

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04257.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04258.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04255.jpg

NOW it was time to go to the bakery! I had two snack credits left and decided to pick up something for us to have for breakfast. We got a cinnamon roll, choc.chip muffin, and a refillable mug - which the new design is VERY cute, I might add!

Then it was out to the BW bus stop to get the bus to DTD - where we would make the short walk back to SSR.

Next installment............goodbye Saratoga Springs; hello Boardwalk Villas!

It all looks so fun. And you are tempting me to try some new places. I can't wait to keep reading.
We are staying at the BWI in July(we stayed there last year for the first time- scary clown pool has kept us away:rotfl2: ) Oh but we loved it. Can't wait to go back. And I'll pass the time reading your report! Love it.

Hi,
I just caught up on your trip report and I love it!
First, I must say that I am now 23 years old. When I was 13 my mom took me on my very first Disney trip for my 13th birthday--just the two of us. Even 10 years later I remember the trip vividly. That trip also instilled in me my love and obsession with Disney. Since then I have taken several trips and each one reminds of the special trip I had with my mom. So I think that this trip report is especially touching and your daughter is one lucky little girl to have a mom like you!
Secondly, your enthusiasm for everything is just infectious. I also was is Disney from February 15, 2009-February 23rd, 2009 for my 23rd birthday and your report is making me want to return already!
I cannot wait for the rest of your report! Lauren is such a doll!

Oh, darn! I had been trying to decide between Yachtsman and Flying Fish for our next trip and FINALLY decided on FF. Now, after seeing those pics - and especially the desserts - I'm ready to change to Yachtsmans! :worship:

Lauren looks like she enjoyed her meal - and the company - despite the under-the-table-texting! Just look at it as life training. When she gets older, she'll definitely be a great multi-tasker! :)

Hi,
I just caught up on your trip report and I love it!

Oh you're so sweet! It's so nice to read what you wrote! I do think too that Lauren will always cherish the memories from our trips - we really do have a special time together and it's such a different experience from when we're there for a family trip. I just hope we can continue to do them for many more years - with her taking over the financial responsibility of the trip, of course!

ps - Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you got some extra special attention while you were there celebrating with the Mouse!

That's a tough call - I've heard great things about FF! I haven't eaten there since 2000 but I'm dying to get there again real soon. But, I"m telling ya - you would not be disappointed in the Yachtsman!

OMG!!! It is NOT that scary!!! AT ALL!!!! It's the best ride ever!!! Lonnie went on twice and she's afraid of the DUMBO ride!!!!:rotfl:

EE is fantastic!!! Especially if you can ride it at night during EMH in the front car! Don't deprive yourself of one of the best rides on property...just look at all the little kids in line and tell yourself "If they can ride it I can too"

Too. Much. DisPressure!

I know you all will probably get me on it - but I can't guarantee I'll like it! But I promise to give it a try! And - at night does sound pretty!

(and oh yeah guys - thanks for making me feel like an even bigger baby by pointing out the small children who go on it!)

Not the intent at all...on the first day of our first trip I was terrified of getting on TOT...after much ribbing from my kids I finally decided if the kids could do it I could too (I was 39 at the time). Needless to say I had a blast and have been hooked on TOT and the other thrill rides ever since.

Love the Yachtsman. We ate there in Dec. of '07. They seated us in a room off to the side that was sort of seperate but open so you still saw the rest of the restaurant. There was my son and I, an empty small table and a larger table with 3 adults(a woman facing me and 2 men with their backs to me) and about 6 kids. As we were eating I kept thinking that woman looks familiar. Well at one point one of the men goes to take some of the kids to the restroom and when he comes back and I see his face I realize who these people are. It was Kirk Cameron and his wife Chelsea Noble and family. I was all excited to see a celebrity. My 16 year of course head no clue who they were.

SSR did grow on me after a day or two. It was very pretty and quiet over there. It certainly is a change of pace from the Boardwalk.

OMG - Kirk Cameron! I would have died! He and his wife are gorgeous - they must have gorgeous children. The only celebrity spotting I've had at WDW was Drew Carey in the GF lobby. Drew is funny and all but he's no Kirk Cameron!

Holding the drinks is VERY IMPORTANT work, but you MUST ride 1 ride outside your comfort zone. I'd so do it with you if I were there. BUT just look at the people coming off the rides and say, "NO ONE DIED. I WILL NOT DIE". :rotfl2:

We awoke Wednesday morning to another glorious day in WDW - sunny and warm. Very warm. It was supposed to go up to 85 this day and we had planned to go to Animal Kingdom. But from past experiences, we've come to realize that it's usually 10 degrees warmer in AK than it is in the rest of WDW - soooooo it was probably going to feel like the 90s there.

After talking it over with Lauren, we decided to skip AK, and head right over to the Boardwalk. Lauren loves the pool there and she also wanted a tan so her friends at home would be jealous. We figured we'd check out of SSR and head over to the BW to check in; spend a few hours by the pool enjoying some sunnin', sippin', and snackin'; then get our room and unpack; and eventually head over to Epcot late in the afternoon. We were having dinner at Tutto's at 7pm but wanted to make sure we had some time to walk around and enjoy the sights and tastes of Epcot before dinner.

So --- how to get to the BW from SSR? I figured my two main choices were: walk to DTD and get on a BW bus; or go out to the bus stop, get on a park bus, then just transfer to a BW bus. Since it was just after 9am, and DTD didn't open until 10am, I was thinking there probably wouldn't be alot of buses running from there just yet. So off we went to the SSR bus stop. Within minutes, an MK bus pulled up and we were on our way. We got over to MK by 9:40 and went right to the BW bus stop to wait for the next BW bus. We waited. And waited. And waited. By 10am, I was a little aggravated. I saw a CM, in a bus driver's uniform, carrying a clipboard. I had asked him when we could expect a bus to the BW. He explained they were experiencing some problems this morning but assured me a bus would be arriving w/in the next 10 minutes. And then he disappeared. And we waited. And waited. And waited.

It's now 10:30 and we've been waiting 50 minutes! Now busses did arrive from the BW - but none of them were returning there; they were all off to different resorts. At this time of day, I certainly wasn't expecting regular bus service but I thought for sure we would have gotten something w/in 30 minutes.

Clipboard CM returned and was shocked to see us still standing there. It was at this point ANOTHER CM came over. He must have been important because he had a tie on. At this point, I was not exactly the friendliest person but I kept my cool and just explained my frustration at having to stand around for almost an hour waiting for a bus and wasting valuable pool time. It was here that we experienced some of that beautiful Disney magic:

Tie-wearing CM: "I will personally drive you to the BW."
Me: "Say what?"
Tie-wearing CM: "I'm serious. Stay right here; I'll get my car."
Me: "Hot-diggity!"

What a lovely man - Mr. Cecil, bus transportation manager, was! He really had no explanation for the delay and apologized again. He then gave me his business card and told me to let him no when we got into our room at the BW - he wanted to get something to us to help make up for this bus misshap. (more on that later!)

We arrived at the BW by 11am - a little later than planned but we had our own personal driver. But no harm done, we checked in; our room wasn't ready yet but we were told we had been upgraded to a preferred view studio. (YAY!) We were at the pool and in our lounge chairs just in time for Leaping Libations to open up!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04273.jpg

We ordered a late breakfast of pretzels and drinks: I had a Poolside Lemonade; Lauren had a smoothie - Pina Colava, I think:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04274.jpg

Aaaaah - we were now refreshed. And feeling lucky we got there when we did. With it being such a warm day, the pool got crowded very quickly; lounge chairs were in high demand. Yeah - we weren't going anywhere for a while!

Lauren - thinking about going in:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04275.jpg

We did go in for a little while and did our usual -- ride the clown slide a couple of times; then play catch with our "Nemo & Friends" squirt toys. The water was fabulous and felt great!

By 2:30, our room was ready. Before heading up, we decided to go out to the BW and get some lunch at one of our favorite little snack spots.....

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04277.jpg

Mmmmm - a little cart filled with so many delicious fried treats! We got the cheese fries (shocking!) and mozzarella sticks:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04276.jpg

Yeah - we were eating REALLY good this day! Oh, and notice the refillable mug? Those are the new designs this year - so cute! You can get different-colored lids; I got the red but there is black, and yellow also.

After polishing off that food, we went up to our "preferred-view" studio room. Oh the Boardwalk! We just love everything about this place! We were now home!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04279.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04281.jpg

Our "preferred view" was of the BW main pool. It was ok; during the afternoon as we got ready to go out, we were treated to music from the afternoon dance party; and it was pretty quiet at night.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04283.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04286.jpg

As for our special treat from our transportation CM - my man Cecil had already taken care of us, without me even having to call and remind him. As we entered the room, sitting on the table was an envelope with a gold seal. Inside were these babies:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04282.jpg

FOUR fast passes! Each one was good for TWO people to be used on ANY ride, in ANY park, with NO expiration!:yay: These were definitely going to come in handy!

I'm telling ya - Disney is not exempt from making mistakes but boy, do they sure know how to make up for them. I wasn't minding waiting long for that BW bus anymore!

Now, I'd like to continue but Lauren has her spring chorus concert tonite and I guess I should feed her before she has to leave. But................

coming up in the next installment: Kim Possible spy missions; another birthday celebration, Italien-style; and two fireworks show at one park!

Hey guys - just wanted to check in real quick to apologize for my absence. It's been such a crazy week. Amanda has been sick these past few days and Lauren has been preparing for this huge scholastic competition. Plus side, Amanda is doing fine just a really bad cold; Lauren had her performance today: 7am -7pm -- UGH! Her team placed fourth for the region. I know this is probably gibberish to all of you but it really has dominated our life for the past few months and I'm kind of glad it's over!:rolleyes1

On top of that, twice over these past four days, I have been on photobucket, I have gotten that freakin' virus alert pop up on me. Mind you, this is the same thing that popped up a few months ago and, when I clicked on it, it infected my computer. These last two times I've just shut down the computer but now I"m nervous to go over there and get my pix for my TR!:scared:

I will look into this problem after Monday afternoon. But for now, I can't afford to lose the use of my computer because..........

JONAS BROTHERS PRESALE TICKETS GO ON SALE TOMORROW! Lauren is in the fan club and has access to presale tickets; I have been given instructions to get the best possible seats - which I'm thinking means "as close to Nick as possible!" LOL. So yeah, I'm not screwing around with my computer until after I get these tickets so wish me luck! And I promise to have an update soon after tomorrow morning!

AND it has to be one that does the photo, cause I wanna see! :thumbsup2

NOT IT!!! I called it! As in, I'm not cleaning up after her if she drinks first THEN rides!!!! :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh, this is getting hilarious!! Ummm Cammie I figured I would throw this out there... my grandson is three. When we went to wdw last Sept the only times he had meltdowns were once while waiting to go on astro orbitors (got way overheated and wouldn't drink anything) and when he couldn't ride EE because he was too small. I have absolutely no idea where he got all the courage to ride all the rides he rode. He wont even go on the store or outlet kiddie rides...at disney he rode everything he could and wasn't afraid of anything. Amazing to say the least! Not too shabby for someone who just turned three!! This was in NO way posted to add more pressure, just an observation.;)

Congratulation to Lauren! Fantastic finish!! Good going!!

I hope Amanda is feeling better! Colds are the worst!

Hi Cammie! So sorry to hear that Amanda has been sick, but I'm glad to hear she's feeling better.

I just want you to know that my DD9 just thinks that Lauren is the coolest kid ever! She asks me if she can sit at the computer with me to read your trip report. Tell Lauren she has a "little sister wannabe."

Hope you all were able to score those Jonas Bros tix. :thumbsup2

The boards are driving me nuts!!! I just hit "User CP" and your TR just popped up, even though I hadn't read in several days, it never alerted me that there were any new posts!!! Weird!

Yeah on the tickets!!!! Has Lauren already plotted them out on the seating diagram??? I hate that the JBs cancelled their show here, Ally is still so mad!

Looking forward to more TR!

awesome that Lauren did so well at the event. sorry to hear that amanda's stuff got messed up. if it makes you feel better I messed up our router so bad that the internet company had to come out and fix it. of course that messed it up even more. I thought I would be smart and have fixed for tim when he got home bit turns out i really messed it up. It took over an hour for him to straighten it out.

Awww - seriously, everyone on these boards is sooo sweet! Thanks for your good wishes about Amanda. She's doing better - back at school. But we're messing around with some of her meds, which always complicates things. It's just such a process!

As for Lauren and her competition: the first two teams qualify for the state finals, so they were disappointed to be in fourth (they did just miss out on 3rd). But they finished first in an "instant challenge" so they were very excited about that and are now anxiously waiting to try again next year.

Now to the really important matter - WE GOT THE JONAS BROTHERS TICKETS! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:

Oh goodness - it was the most stressful 45 minutes of my life! You know how it is as a parent? You know something is important to your child and you really want to make it happen for them? I sat there at the computer and kept throwing tickets back because I didn't think they were good enough. FINALLY - great seats came up -- 7th row off the floor on the risers, center stage! Lauren is very excited! She is now telling me we should get a new camera because if we're this close, we need to get really good pix. (I kind of agree with her!) On top of the ticket news, I also have another exciting possibility......

Thanks to the fabulous world of FaceBook, I have reconnected with a very good friend from college who informs me that he is very good friends with someone who works closely for the Jonas Brothers. VERY GOOD FRIENDS. He and his family have met them; as has many of their friends. Long story short - he is talking to his friend about setting up a meet & greet with them before the concert.

LAUREN WILL FREAK OUT!!! :hyper: :faint:

I really think she will cry. And I will laugh!:lmao: Anyway, I'm not saying a word to her (I swear, you guys!:rolleyes1) until I get confirmation that it's happening. Keep your fingers crossed.

So sorry to bore some of you with this non-Disney/TR talk. But if any of you have a young girl in your life, you can appreciate that this is a very big deal. And I'm just so excited because the thought of Lauren being so happy about something makes me happy!:goodvibes

As for the trip report.......a new installment will be up later today! Promise.

Disney does customer service right! I'm telling ya - if you're not happy, let someone know!

Another great update:) :) :)

That wait must have been horible, but I bet a hour wait at disney is better then anywhere else:thumbsup2

Yes, you're right - waiting at Disney is DEFINITELY not as bad as waiting somewhere else! ;)

Cammie - all I can say is wow! That is amazing you had 4 fast passes! I can't wait to see what you guys did with them! I'm so loving those BW photos. I'm thinking that might be a great place to put on our to do list!

You are well aware of my feelings about the BW area girlfriend. Do you need anymore convincing?

That is so fantastic about the Fast Passes!!! How nice of Cecil!!

I laughed out loud at your "Hot Diggity!" comment. :rotfl2:

Oh goodness - I so apologize for my absence! Life has certainly gotten in the way of my DISing this past week! I hope to catch up tonite!

Wow!! I can't believe you waited that long but 4 passes was just awesome of them!!

They were worth the wait!

Yeah, good question...... :rolleyes1 Should I text her and let her know for you? I'll be sensitive, something like "hey, ur mom is goin 2 wdw w/out u - c ya!" :rotfl2:

Hey you - don't be getting me in trouble with my 13 yr.old! I'll tell her myself -- eventually!

WOW the fast pass option is great :cool1: YEY for CECIL:banana: YEY for you am so glad you had fun with your daughter. I wouldn't mind waiting that long for the bus either. Can't wait to hear more. How did the spring chorus concert go?

Concert was good. But you know how it is - you sit there for an hour to watch your own kid for about 4 minutes! And, as for our Disney wait, in the end - not so bad.

Crazyyy how long you had to wait for a bus, I wonder what actually happened? :confused3 So cool that you got those fastpasses though! :thumbsup2

It was crazy long wait. But for future reference I now know - at that time of the day, Disney is not super concerned about getting people from the park to the resort. LOL

Love that Cecil came through for you a lot faster than the bus!!:thumbsup2

I love the new refillable mug designs....I may have to see if one of you May goers will get me one:goodvibes

Let me know if you want one - they are cute!

Sorry for the wait but boy it sure was worth it! Yeah for Cecil!:thumbsup2

Yay for Cecil. Very nice man!

TOTALLY awesome! Disney sure knows how to turn an annoying situation into something AWESOME! what a great guy!! your room looks beautiful and i cant wait to hear about the rest of your trip!!

Disney does customer service right!:thumbsup2

I just found your TR... how very cool that you took your daughter for her 13th b'day. Our daughter will be turning 13 in Oct. We are booked for Dec.... but rethinking going closer to her b'day as a fun thing for her..

Cool deal with the Fast passes...

What time of the year do you like the best in Disney?
Angela

Hi Angela! Thanks for reading! As for my favorite time of year at WDW? The holidays! As a family, that's when are annual trip is and we just love it! Good weather, low crowds, and festive atmosphere - the best!

Cammie, sorry about the bus wait - that's rediculous! I'm glad you got the ride and FP to make up for it! Yah, you are going to have to bring something greqat back for Lauren, or she'll never forgive you!

I know. I know - I'm going to owe her something big!

Uh, I'm so late! Anyways, that's a ridiculously long bus wait! But it was pretty worth it for those rockin fast passes!

Lauren looks beautiful in her bikini! I swear, we have to stay at the BW sometimes! It looks so awesome! And we'd love to be so near that great bakery!

Can't wait for Epcot!

The BW is FABULOUS! Although we thing WL is a very close second!

I fell a little behind but I'm all caught up now! Wow, dinner at Yachtsman looks SO good. :rotfl: on Lauren with the stealth texting in her lap! :rotfl:

What a great CM in the bus manager. A personal drive and magic fast passes!!

Boardwalk looks beautiful! I've been partial to Beach Club but I may have to change that...

Oh and cheese fries and mozzarella sticks... :cloud9: Perfect lunch! :thumbsup2

No apologies necessary - as you can see, I haven't been very good about keeping up myself!:rolleyes1

BW. Beach Club. To me, it's all the same - still just minutes from walking to Epcot. The Best!

Glad you finally made it to your favorite "home base!"

Nice to get those FPs.... did you feel a bit like breaking into a chorus of I've got a golden ticket from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?? :thumbsup2

Kathy

That's so funny because I was thinking that! Lauren tore open the envelope and I yelled out her for breaking the golden seal!

My baby girl is turning 13 in June so I just had to read your trip report. I am LOVING it! My DH and I are celebrating our anniversary in May at the Poly. I'm hoping we get a good bounceback offer. A mother/daughter trip would make an excellent 13th birthday gift (especially since texting works at WDW):lmao:

OH my goodness - that would make an awesome 13th birthday gift! Lauren just loved all of the special attention. She's now trying to make plans for her Sweet 16 - but this time, she wants to plan it along with some friends!:scared:
i'm so behind! "life" has happened lately and i've just had no dissing time. so unfair! :rotfl:

and so sweet of cecil to take care of you. disney does it like nobody else!!! :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, I know the stress of getting Jonas Brothers tickets!! My girls will be gone when they are in Dallas so we are driving to Alabama so they can go to a concert there with their friend who is a big Jo Bro fan too.

The Jonas Brothers actually go to my church but we haven't seen them there yet, but my girls are at an event tonight to hear Mrs. Jonas speak! My DD16 has high hopes that Mrs. J will see her and decide she is the PERFECT match for Nick.

Hey Alan - that's so sweet to hear what your daughter thinks of Lauren. She has seen your trip reports also and has read along with this one and thinks your daughter is adorable. Seriously, she is going to be SO MAD that she is not a part of this mega-DIS meet in May. And seriously, if you want to post that pic of your daughter with them -feel free! I think if Lauren gets her chance to meet them, she will actually have an out of body experience. Based on how delirious she was at the 3D movie, I'm not so sure she can survive a personal meeting. :rotfl:

The girls teams did horrible...lol. Cassidy's because of the teacher in charge's prejudices toward non G/T kids....of course if he didn't have non G/T kids he wouldn't have had coaches.

They always did great with instant challenges. The only reason Abi and I didn't do it this year is the stuff that happened in our house and she would have been the only girl...she wasn't prepared to do that again.

So what challenge did they do?? We had 2 favorites.

One of our radio stations is giving away front row tickets to Jo Bros concert...I should have put that I needed to win them so that I could be as cool as Miss Cammie. :rotfl:

Hold on to your hats, people........I FINALLY have a new installment!

So I last left off with Lauren and I enjoying a day at the BW pool. We had just unpacked in our room and were heading out to Epcot for the evening. We had dinner ADRs at Tutto's for 7pm.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04287-1.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04290-1.jpg

Aaah - the Boardwalk at dusk!:cloud9:

Now the big decision as we enter Epcot through International Gateway - which path do we take? Do we head over the bridge towards France; or stay straight towards England? Now it must be noted, here it was our FOURTH day at WDW and I had yet to have ONE frozen slushie from France!:scared1:

So I think you probably know what direction I wanted to go.:rolleyes1

BUT.......something else caught our eye - The Team Kim Possible kiosk. Since this was a new attraction, we decided to check it out. And boy am I glad we did because we were HOOKED! So. Much. Fun.

Now I don't want to give too many details away for fear of ruining for those of you who have yet to try it. The basics: you stop at a kiosk, run your park card through a machine, and a ticket pops out telling you where to go to receive your first mission. Since we were already in England, the CM there just let our mission be there. Once you turn in your ticket, you get a cell phone (yes, a REAL cell phone), which is programmed to play a video telling you what you need to do......................

This is our ticket for a later mission but I wanted to post it to show you what they looked like:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04436.jpg

Anyone familiar with the cartoon Kim Possible will recognize the characters that appear on the phones. Anyway, your "mission" is centered on one country and involves you searching throughout that particular country looking for various things. It truly is sooo cool and a brilliant idea. I have to admit, I've been coming to Disney for over 10 years and there are some buildings in the various countries I have NEVER even gone into before. This experience forces you to go into them. Lauren really enjoyed it. You search out clues and also "trigger" various gadgets secretly placed throughout the countries with the phone. Again, I don't want to give any of it away for those of you will be trying it. But it is pretty amazing some of the things they have rigged to happen. For some missions, you also have to approach some CMs in the countries, saying a secret code, until you find the right CM who is part of the mission. They then "slip" you something to help in the mission. Very funny.

Here are some shots of Lauren during our mission in England...........

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04297.jpg

Yeah, that tea bag was what we needed to get from a "special" CM working in one of the UK shops.

Our last stop for our mission in England was back behind the toy store where Pooh and friends hang out. We were outside, following instructions to complete the mission - which involved something funky with this window:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04298.jpg

Well, evidently there was NO ONE inside meeting Pooh and his buddies; they heard us outside and pulled Lauren in through the back door for pictures!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04301.jpg

After finishing our mission, and deciding that our goal would be to complete ALL of the missions before the end of our trip, Lauren and I headed out to our own personal mission - purchasing a pretzel in Germany and a beverage in France.

First stop - Germany for pretzels. But not before listening to some dudes in skirts...................Off-Kilter!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04302.jpg

Ok - NOW the pretzel:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04303.jpg

And onto France for me!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04305.jpg

Since our dinner ADRs were soon approaching, I didn't want to fill up with a frozen slushie so I opted for a lovely Kir Royale!

I want. I want. I want...............

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04306.jpg

It was now time to head over to Tutto's!

Next installment - dinner and birthday celebration, Italien-style! And TWO fireworks shows!

One more shot................

Wow...great update! DD & I just read your latest chapter and we ALL ABOUT that Kim Possible mission. How fun is that??? :cool1: DD is excited that she will get to have a cell phone....at least for a little while!

DD wants me to tell you and Lauren that she is SO JEALOUS because you got to meet Eeyore! That is her favorite character! Anyway, she'll get to meet all the Pooh characters on our trip in May, as we will be having breakfast at Crystal Palace one morning. :thumbsup2

(I think I am as excited about the Kim Possible thing as DD is!!)

"Crazy looking eyes" :lmao:

Your post has me cracking up! So I guess you live in the area of their Texas neighborhood, huh? Tell your DD16 to back off - Nick's perfect match is here in Massachusetts. He just doesn't know it yet!;)

And seriously, if you want to post that pic of your daughter with them -feel free! I think if Lauren gets her chance to meet them, she will actually have an out of body experience. Based on how delirious she was at the 3D movie, I'm not so sure she can survive a personal meeting. :rotfl:

Ok, you asked for pics and you got em!! My girls saw the 3D movie no less than 5 or 6 times....they are insane.

They actually got to meet Mrs. Jonas last night and said she was amazing and so sweet. Alyssa thanked her for raising such wonderful boys and told her that their music has helped her through some rough patches in her life (we are ex military so she went to 3 different high schools). She also said Mrs. J noticed her "little bit longer" necklace that the proceeds went to diabetes research and she thanked Alyssa for that.

Here is a picture of Alyssa with her Meet and greet wristband.

Here she is with Big Rob....notice major crazy eyes!!

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e95/michellevw/jobros.jpg

And here she is with the boys!! She actually barely remembers Nick and Kevin since she is a Joe fan and said she shook Nick and Kevin's hands and then asked Joe for a hug which she got! :goodvibes She said Kevin was so sweet.

Isn't the Kim Possible thing fun? I did it with my sister-in-law and my 6 year old nephew. We did China and England. It really does show you things you might just walk by and not even notice. We didn't finish England though. We passed the phone and my nephew off to my brother and my son who had just met us at Epcot after watching something at ESPN the weekend at DHS. Sis-in-law and I didn't want to miss Off Kilter! Love them!

LOL. It was pretty funny when we were there too. There were groups of people huddled around cell phones! And yes, we completed all seven missions. The only countries that don't have missions are: Amercia, Canada, Italy, and Moracco - although a CM told us he thinks Moracco will be the next country to get one.

Wow...great update! DD & I just read your latest chapter and we ALL ABOUT that Kim Possible mission. How fun is that??? :cool1: DD is excited that she will get to have a cell phone....at least for a little while!

Definitely put the Kim Possible thing on your list Alan! Your DD, and the rest of your family will love it! I think our favorite missions were in England and Germany. We had the hardest time in France but they had some really cool things there.

Hey! I was over here a loooong time ago but I've been MIA for a long time. Now I'm all caught up!

The AI Experience looks AWESOME! I didn't get a chance to do it on my trip but I will definitely try to make it there next time. How long was the show?

Also, those FP's are awesome! One time a CM heard my friend and I talking about how our plane was delayed and we got off to a late start. We were upset that we'd probably miss out on some of the bigger attractions since we weren't there earlier enough to get a FP. He came over and walked us to Guest Services and gave us those same certificates! AWESOME!!

And as far as the JoBros go - that's awesome! I was obsessed with Hanson, NSYNC, and O-Town. I never met NSYNC but I swear if I did I would probably pass out! Even today - if I saw one of them (which I did last week at Crystal Palace!) - I would freak out!! That's so exciting. I remember when O-Town (weren't that big, but still - I love them!) played at a small venue where my dad knew someone who got us backstage passes. My dad totally tricked my friends and I and made us wait in the general admission line with everyone else before he said for us to follow him because we were going to meet OTown! I was SHAKING! I can't even imagine how excited Lauren would be and I can't wait to hear about what happens!!! Good luck, I really hope she gets to meet them!!

Hey thanks for checking back in! The AI show was @ 45 minutes long, if I remember correctly. It's a very fun show so you should definitely check it out.

So which member of NSYNC did you see? Was it Joey? I hear he's always at WDW. I'm not familiar with O-Town at all but yeah, your reaction to meeting them sounds very familiar to what Lauren would be like if she met JB. Keeping our fingers crossed that it will happen!

Hi Sunnie,
I'm so sorry your SIL's plans were changed. My thoughts are with your family and all service people's families.

Make sure you tell the Disney people about this being your SIL's R&R. You never know, there might be some extra magic. Have a great trip and great job getting everything ready in such short notice!

Agreed. You know Disney - it never hurts to mention these things.:thumbsup2

Hey, Cammie-I have read your other reports and am subbing to this one. I can't wait to read more. I hope to one day do solo trips with each of my three daughters-maybe when they turn 13! :)

Hi! Thanks for reading! I hope you can do those solo trips with your daughters. It's nice to have the one-oe-one time together.

I was talking to DD18 about her meet and greet, and telling her about your daughter hopefully getting to meet them. She told me that she totally went blank when Joe's arms went around her. :rotfl: But she still says it was amazing!

Here's my youngest DD at Hollywood Studios during Spring Break in front of the Famous Jo Bros sign!

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e95/michellevw/23mar6.jpg

LOL. I got a similiar pic of Lauren there in Feb.! And I'm sure Lauren will have the same experience if Nick were to put his arms around her. I'll just be a nervous wreck about making sure I don't screw up the picture!:rotfl:

Lauren and I headed into Tutto's for our 7pm ADRs and were happy to see that we would be seated right away. We hadn't been to this restaurant since it had be re-named but had enjoyed our meals when it was Alfredo's. Our one disappointment in the place was that we always seemed to be seated in one of the smaller side rooms - which I hated! I always felt like there was a big party going on in the main dining room and we were missing it.:sad1:

Tonight we were seated in the main dining room. YAY!:yay:

Lauren ordered a Sprite; me - a glass of Pinot Grigio. As we sat there, I noticed Lauren was tan on only one side of her body. I had told her to rotate while we were sitting at the pool earlier but she couldn't be bothered. Yeah - she's proud of her two-tone color:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04310.jpg

Whatever.

Soon the bread selection was bought out:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04309.jpg

For dinner, Lauren ordered the usual: spaghetti with sauce and meatballs on the side (have I mentioned she's not an adventurous eater?)......

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04313.jpg

There was a pumpkin ravioli dish on the menu that I really wanted to try but they were out!:headache: I settled for Casarecci - a simple gnocchi pasta dish with a red sauce and ground sausage.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04312.jpg

Not too exciting but very good. I was leaving room for dessert ........ strawberry zabliogone:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04316.jpg

Lauren ordered the cannoli. And of course, being that we were celebrating her birthday, the CMs bought out her dessert along with a serenade of Happy Birthday - Italien-style of course!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04315.jpg

Dinner here was very good. Again, we stuck to the basics but enjoyed it very much. I would definitely want to go back and try something a little out of the norm.

It was now a little after 8pm. I had told Lauren that I didn't care about seeing Illuminations this night and that we could instead head into FW and use some of those FP. Well, I was now changing my mind. I'm such a sucker for Illuminations! How can I be in Epcot and NOT watch it? Lauren sympathized with me and agreed. We still had two days to use those passes. So after browsing around WS for a little while, we found a spot to view the fireworks back in front of Italy.

This turned out to be a great spot to view! Shortly after Illuminations had started, I noticed Wishes was also starting in MK -- and we could see it!

My girls saw Joey Fatone of Nsync when they saw the Jo Bros for the first time in Orlando last March. He walked right by them and they knew he was someone but couldn't think fast enough on who he was. Then he went on stage later and said he offered his daughter anything she wanted for her birthday and she wanted to see the Jo Bros!! :rotfl:

I am visiting WDW with my sister in October. This is our 2nd trip together, and we're trying to make it a yearly event. Anyway, last time we only stayed two nights, and we ate at Yak and Yeti and Crystal Palace. This time we are staying for 3 nights. She wants to eat at Yak and Yeti again, but I am not sure where we are going to eat our other two TS meals. I was thinking about Tutto. Your meal looks great! I'll have to have my sister check out the menu-but isn't it supposed to close down for refurbishment some time soon?

We were thinking of doing a lunch TS at Downtown Disney on the day we arrive-before we go to MNSSHP. Is Fulton's the place you like - the one with the crab claws? Are they on the dining plan? Have you ever eaten there for lunch?
Thanks!

Thanks to the US Army my son in laws R&R from Iraq got changed (for the third time.) So instead of going in May we had to scramble to change everything from May to EASTER!!!:scared1::confused: This of course didn't happen until 10 days ago. Believe me things have not been fun or happy at my house recently.
Everything is in place now pretty much though.
Waiting to hear about Tuttos!!
Good luck on the meet and greet, that would be spectacular!!
I'm happy to hear Amanda is better!!

Sorry you had to scramble, but glad he will get to come home soon - have a wonderful time!

Congratulations on scoring some great Jonas Bros tickets! What a good mom!! And OF COURSE you totally need a new camera! How is your face book connection coming along? That will be great if it works out but I think the tickets alone will be pretty darn special. (Sorry if I missed the answer- I skimmed the conversation between updates since I'm so behind on all my subscriptions!).

Kim Possible looks too cool!! I can't wait to try it! How fun Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger called you in for a visit!

Ah the Kir Royale... I would love to have one of those babies right now! ::yes::

Dinner at Tutto looks fun. Funny, I've always sat in the main room. I didnt even know there were side rooms! Looks like Lauren got a lot of mileage out of that birthday pin! :goodvibes

The BW games look like they would be fun to watch and play-we've walked around there at night, but it must have either been too cold, too late (or early?), or it just being the off season because I've never seen them open! We did see some entertainment though when we were there for dinner back in January.

And funnel cakes-oh yes, always room! :thumbsup2

On the 10th, thry move to SSR on developer points and I meet them the 14th. We all leave on the 21st for home. Thank you for being so sweet!:goodvibes

Oh Sunnie - so sorry about the need to change your plans. I'm glad to hear you'll all still be able to get there though. Here's some pixiedust: hoping that everything now goes according to plan! You and your family definitely deserve a wonderful trip together considering all the sacrifices you have made. A BIG thank you to all of you!:)

Thank you!!! I got the cake for my daughter ordered, but she wont get it until the 10th (I thought that was better since they change resorts that day). It is a 10" cake:scared1: That is the only size they would allow me to do what I wanted with, and she has to pick it up at Artists Pallette as there is no room service at SSR. It is marble, white buttercream, bavarian custard/fresh strawberry filling. It will have a dangle tinker bell that they say makes it look like she is flying that will be surrounded by pink flowers. Hope it turns out cute!!

Sorry you had to scramble, but glad he will get to come home soon - have a wonderful time!

Hi and welcome aboard! I didn't hear anything about Tutto's closing but then again, I haven't been surfing the DIS much these days, so who knows? As for DTD, YES - Fulton's is wonderful! Hi Cammie, just checking in to see if you are all o.k.!!

Thanks Sunnie. We haven't had a great week. Amanda has been really sick - I think this bug has been brewing for a few weeks now. Anyway, fever and coughing alot! Won't gross you out with the details but let's just say she's coughing up some not-so-pretty stuff. Better out than in, we always say though!:thumbsup2 Anyway, I'm so appreciative she has the trach and the vent because it's at times like this she really needs the help. She's doing much better today but now I have a nasty cold! UGH!

And, if that's not enough, I turned on my computer this morning and EVERYTHING WAS GONE!!! I have no files, no pictures, no programs on my user account.:headache: I have no idea what has happened but I'm accessing the internet through Lauren's user account right now. I'm not computer-savy at all so I have no idea how to even look for my stuff. The good news is the last time my computer crashed (just about 3 months ago), I had all of my pix backed up on a CD so all is not lost completely. It's just so frustrating because I don't know how to fix it.

Sorry to be such a gloomy gus today. It's raining today so I will try to get another installment up - as long as Amanda continues to improve. If I miss some of you today, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!:flower3:

Sorry you and Amanda aren't well-hope y'all feel better soon!!! Sending some pixie dust your way... :tinker:

Thank you. My cold is still hanging on; Amanda is s-l-o-w-l-y recovering; and Lauren was sick at the end of the week but is back to good as new!

And yes, we were very lucky to see both fireworks shows. It was just one of those nights that they were both scheduled for the same time. Was very cool!

Hope everything works out Prayers for Amanda:grouphug:

Thank you. She's feeling better - just taking her own time doing it.;)

I hope that you and Amanda are improving and your computer is easily fixed! We are dealing with this yucky cough thing here, I know it isn't pretty or fun.... I think I have one more kid to get through it....

Thank you. We're on the right road. My computer, on the otherhand.......:headache: I just don't even want to deal with it, but I'm now able to get on and do what I want so I'm happy. There is something wrong with it though and I'm going to have to face it eventually!

Sorry for the long delay between posts everybody. Illnesses have really grabbed a hold of us these past two weeks and have not left me with much energy for anthing else. We're all slowly feeling better and the girls are spending a few days with their dad which means I now have some FREE TIME! So let's get back to business.............

I last left off, Lauren and I were getting up for our last full day at WDW and heading to the MK. Thought I'd show you guys these really cute wallets we purchased the night before in Epcot. Yes, we now have matching wallets!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04379.jpg

Soon we were walking down Main Street...............

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04383.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04380.jpg

We decided to use some snack credits for breakfast at the Main Street Bakery. The bakery had a HUGE line! But I was happy to see that they had opened the ice cream place right next store and were offering all of the same items, with the exception of "hot" items. We jumped in there and zipped right out! Purchased: one chocolate chocolate chip muffin and a chocolate croissant............

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04381.jpg

Happy girl!
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04382.jpg

After breakfast we decided to head towards Frontierland. Yep, you guessed it! Lauren wanted to hit BTMMR AGAIN! On the way, we passed the Haunted Mansion with no wait - so in we went.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04384.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04387.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04389.jpg

And now, after visiting WDW for over 10 years, I am ready to go on record and say that the Haunted Mansion is my FAVORITE ride at MK. I always enjoy it - it's amusing; I always seem to find something that I've never seen before; and there are a ton of Hidden Mickeys in here that we like to look for. Plus the fact that I think the ride lasts a good amount of time and I rarely have waited long to get on it makes it one of my faves.

Next it was on to Lauren's favorite ride in all of MK - Big Thunder Mountain. We grabbed FPs which had a return time within an hour; then jumped on the standby line - 10 minute wait. Not bad at all!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04390.jpg
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04391.jpg

How many shots do I have of this exact pose?
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04392.jpg

After our first ride on BTMRR, we jumped on to Pirates, a ride I have to admit, I'm getting a little bored with. The Johnny Depp additions kept it interesting for a little while, but now - eh. I've ridden the one in DisneylandParis and it is NOTHING like this one. It's actually a little thrilling and has a few water drops. Think they could use some of those on this version.

Anyway, after POTC, we rode Aladdin's Carpets and then it was time to cash in the FP for BTMRR again. Of course, after riding, Lauren talked me into using one of our golden ticket FP to ride again. Yes, I agreed BUT we were now done with that ride for this trip. Goodbye BigThunder Mountain -- until December, that is!

On our way over to the other side of the park, we decided to get lunch. We were, afterall, passing by Casey's. How could we walk by and NOT get something to eat?

The usual:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04393.jpg

Although this time, I discovered that we could use a snack credit for an extra side order of fries! Three orders of cheese fries between the two of us! WOOT! (who cares? We were on vacation!)

After lunch, we went in to see Mickey's Philharmagic. Can't pass up a Photopass opportunity though:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04394.jpg

This attraction had a bit of a wait but we didn't mind. There was a band inside to help pass the time!

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04409.jpg

Ready and waiting.............
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04410.jpg

After the show, we went over to catch a performance of:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04395.jpg

This was our second time in this attraction on this trip - we had also gone in during our first night and both times were GREAT! I agree - the enjoyment level of this attraction greatly relies on a good audience and we lucked out both times. So funny!

Next up - Buzz Lightyear, where I CRUSHED Lauren!

My score:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04398.jpg

Lauren's score:

My picture of our picture:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04401.jpg

Is it any wonder she lost so badly? Look at my face - fierce concentration and determination. Look at Lauren's - smiling for the camera!

As we came off of Buzz, the rain had gotten heavy so what to do when raining and in Tomorrowland? Kill some time on the TTA! Lauren enjoyed the break (yes, that's her phone in her hand!):

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04404.jpg

"That" pose again:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04403.jpg

After the TTA, Lauren and I decided to start to head out and back to the Boardwalk. We took one last ride on Pooh and then headed down Main Street for one last time:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee237/Camster0307/DisneyFeb09/DSC04411.jpg

I always love the way the lampposts are decorated:

You see, that how I feel about Haunted Mansion. I remember that was a big accomplishment for me when I first rode it as a kid - felt like it was my first "adult" ride. Same with Pirates but now that ride just bores me. I'm telling ya - after riding the one in Paris you realize how this one could be so much better. Don't get me wrong - it's still a MUST-DO! I'll never pass up the classics.:thumbsup2

Congrats Cammie to both you and Lauren. I know she will be absolutely thrilled to death. A few years back I took my daughter to an American Idol concert at the Meadowlands and the once singer she had a crush on (can't remember his name) ran down the aisle (we had floor seats) and touched her hand. She was so excited she didn't want to wash her hand for days.:rotfl2:

I've been lurking forever on your TR and it's great! It has been wonderful to see your mother/daughter trip that I would love to do one day with my DD! I must say if you get the JoBro tickets that you will officially be THE coolest mom! My 14 y/o cousin would DIE to see the JoBros! I'm looking forward to the rest of the trip, and I hope you're able to get the tickets! :goodvibes

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom and glad you're enjoying my TR! I hope you get to take your own trip with your DD one day! And also hope that cousin of yours gets to see the JoBros. too!

Great update!
I laughed out loud at the pic of Lauren with her phone-she even texts in her sleep! :rotfl:

And score on the 3rd fry for a snack credit-I agree-you are on vacation, indulge and ENJOY!

Sometimes I think the phone is permanently attached to her hand!

Thank you. NJ2Boardwalk actually refers to the Boardwalk resort in Disney, as that is one of our favorites and was our destination when we established the screen name back in 2004.

You know, I think I made this mistake with your screen name before, didn't I? I seem to remember you telling me that! My bad!

The food discussion. :rotfl: I may not be into the JB's but I'm thrilled for Lauren! :cool1:

Again - who was talking about food?:lmao:

You all are CRACKING ME UP!!! Geeesshh! What kind of torture do I have coming my way for opening a hot dog restaurant??

Seein all of our quotes pulled together in your comment was hysterical!

By the way, great update Cammie. You are all intense on that Buzz Lightyear ride!!! No wonder you blew Lauren away!

What is up with that pose Lauren has? Our DD has that same pose in almost every picture lately! She says she is a "neo-hippy."

(oh God....kill me now...before she reaches 16!)

Lauren is ALL about the posing! And yes, that pose is a popular one these days. Cracks me up every time though!

I would freak at the chance of a meet and greet!!!! I hope it happens for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like we WILL be freaking!

Loved the update:thumbsup2 KARA JEAN! Look what you started. I can't wait to see what happens with the JB meet!

Thanks for reading Tammie!

All caught up. I am enjoying your trip report (and all your others). I have a DD11 with special needs and would love to be able to take DD9 on a mom & daughter trip. Hopefully someday it will happen. It must be great to be able to go every year. I can't wait to read about the rest of your trip (and all of your future trips).

Hope you can take that trip. Seriously, I needed a BIG nudge to do it! I felt VERY guilty leaving my special-needs daughter at home but after doing it once, I realized it was something that both Lauren and I deserved - and needed - to do! Thanks for reading!:)

Hi Marissa! Must admit, I never really paid attention to whether the guy in blue plaid was ever there or not. But I do remember finding an Off-Kilter thread on the Themes Parks board and thought I read that some members of the band rotate in and out. Maybe that one guy is on a break for a while?

Sorry, I didn't post about Lauren last nite, meeting the Jonas Brothers, "how cool is that."
The Jonas Brothers are coming to Milwaukee in June and my ds will work there when really big names come in and they need extra help. They need help so bad, that he is able to take anyone else that wants to work. They sell, hats, t-shirts and whatever else. They get to see the concert on the tv's and when it is slow, they can watch through the doorways. Almost all my kids worked when Miley Cyrus came to town. I think their paychecks were all over $500. The get part of the profit, for what they sell.

Now, as my good friends here on the DIS know - I FAIL miserably at keeping secrets from my child.:rolleyes1

But..........

My game plan for this is to NOT tell her until we get to the arena. The concert is in Boston on Friday night, July 17th - the day before my birthday!:goodvibes My friend has told me we will be meeting them before the show - which starts at 8pm. I'm thinking we'll go into the city early, have a nice dinner at my favorite restaurant - Capital Grille (steak - YUM!) then head over to the BankNorth Garden. I'll either have to meet up with my friend's friend, who will take us in; or pick up some passes of some sort. I'll need to talk to the guy to see how he wants to do it. Six days and I STILL haven't blabbed! I'm so proud of myself!:goodvibes

Honestly, it's going to get tougher once school is over and the concert starts to become her focus. Lauren is so busy with school activities right now, she's not even thinking about the summer. Once school lets out, I'm sure the excitement and anticipation will set in - and then I'll really need the willpower to keep my mouth shut! I'm very determined though - I will not blab; I will not blab; I will not blab........

Anyway I guess I should re-focus on finishing up this trip report. We just have our last night with a dinner at LeCellier and then our checkout day and one more trip into Epcot. I will try to get an update in sometime this weekend but it probably won't happen until Sunday. Lauren is performing in her school's production of GREASE this weekend and we have family from out of town staying with us. It will be a little crazy around here but I'll see what I can do!

Thanks for sticking with me everybody. Have a great weekend and I hope to check back in by Sunday!:flower3:

That's so cool! Does she have a lead role? Good luck to her and break a leg!

I know she'll be watching JONAS tonight, right?

I loved all of your trip reports (especially the Jersey Shore references)! I wish your daughter luck with her school play.

I'm still waiting for my children to wake up and make me breakfast so I may try to start the next installment. So sorry for the delay though. It's almost finished!

Tell Lauren we said to break a leg! BTW, our DD was in a talent show this past weekend and sang a Taylor Swift song. We were SO proud of her! A video is posted on DW's FB page.

May is finally here!

Have a great weekend!

Alan

How did your DD do in the talent show? Sorry, I didn't get to see the video - what song did she sing?

And yay for MAY!!! One week from today is our DISmeet!

Break a leg, Lauren!

What role is she playing? Grease is one of my favorites :)

The play was a huge success! Lauren had so much fun and is now excited to try for a bigger role next year. This year, she was one of the angels in Beauty School Dropout; was also in the HandJive; We Go Together; and Summer Nights. We weren't allowed to take pictures - the drama teacher was such a poo about it! I did take a pic of Lauren and her friends after the show. I'll upload it to photobucket and post!

Hey stranger! Was wondering where you disappeared to! See my above comment to hear about her roles in GREASE. And she was upset about missing the premiere of JONAS - but is very grateful for the DVR. I have a feeling it's going to become full of all those JONAS episodes!;)

Thanks for joining in! And Lauren had a blast in the play!

And I miss my Jersey shore!:cloud9:
