Oh how awful for all the guests of these resorts. But if the workers feel they have to strike, I won't comment since I don't know the details. Poohlovr I hope you have a wonderful trip anyhow. Maybe you'll have pixie dust and say it all worked out for the best when all is said and done. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I don't think I'll have a problem. I'm sure management had been preparing for this for some time now.
I got a PM from Dan Murphy, who is at the Swan now, and he told me he hasn't noticed anything different. He did say there was a plane flying over, pulling a banner from the Teamsters, with something about the strike, but, thus far, no problem with his room. It evidently has been taken care of as usual today.

And if my bed is late getting made or gets missed one day? So what? That happens here at home too, only there, I will be at Disney! I won't let anything like that bother me.

I am going to have a wonderful time!

Workers wanted a guaranteed 40-hour work week and job assignments based on seniority

Sounds only fair to me....I hope they can get things worked out!

Poohlovr, have a great trip! We expect a full and detailed trip report when you return!

Just one question for Poohlovr (and anyone else on the board with the answer) - how do you get the "countdown" on your post page ? I have been meaning to ask but keep forgetting.
Thanks

The strike has been looming for some time. I'm sure they were prepared for it. I hope everyone heading down there in the next few days/weeks has a wonderful trip.:) Don't worry about a thing.

Does anyone know how long the strike will last? I am going in September and this puts me in a tuff spot. Even though I am in Management and have helped my co fight unions within our org, I don't think I could cross a picket line)...I am not starting a debate, it is just a personal choice...hubby is in a union (one that got us the $129 rate as a matter of fact) and I was born a true "coal minors daughter" so the union was a very big part of life at home....

Thanks
