I was able to get the last 2 bedroom according to MS at OKW for Dec 1st for 5 nights. I was so excited that I failed to ask another question. Can someone explain how a waitlist works? I didn't ask to be waitlisted anywhere but I am thinking of calling back. Can I waitlist at all the other resorts or do I need to pick just one? If I have to pick just one, any suggestions on where we would have a better chance of getting in at? If a spot opened up, would they call me and give me the option or would they just switch me? I am very happy with OKW but we will be there 5 weeks after our December trip for 10 days so I thought we would try someplace else. Is it worth waitlisting? Thanks!!

I understand you can waitlist at all the other resorts and then if one becomes available you can change into it. The only problem I can see, and I've not waitlisted before now either, is that if you go by days, you may have to move between resorts. I took the chance and waitlisted for the entire week.

The waitlist is a good way to try another resort.
If you waitlist for the entire week, your chances are reduced, since they will not save individual days as they become available- only if the entire week opens up.
You can ask for an automatic waitlist- where they won't even call to confirm with you.
The waitlist does work since the dynamics of the reservation system at WDW are so active.
Good Luck!

Thanks! I did call and waitlist for VWL for the entire week. I understand it reduces my chances but I do not want to switch resorts during our stay - especially during a short stay like this. She told me I could not waitlist for all the resorts. I had to pick only one! It sounds like that isn't correct. I talked to MS twice today (once for the ressie and once about the waitlist) and both times it was very rushed. I am sure they are very busy after the long weekend but I really felt rushed. Maybe I will try back later in the week and see if I can add BWV and BCV to the waitlist.

I'm not sure they will waitlist more than one resort. They can waitlist any of the DVC resorts, but listing more than one at a time could create some confusion.
Good Luck!
