I know that we are on the DISBoard which is for Disney, but I am looking for someone's opinion on the new Carnival Ship the Pride. I was on the 5/11 magic and want to go on a Halloween Cruise, but Disney is really much more expensive. Has anyone here been on the Pride? How did you feel about the differences between the 2 ships? I have heard that Carnival put that ship there to directly compete with Disney and that the childrens program is excellent. Can anyone substantiate this?

Thanks for your input...

I haven't taken the Pride so I can't make comparisons, but I wanted to let you know that Carnival is replacing the Pride with the Glory starting in July. The Glory is one of the largest ships ever built and will be the largest ship ever based out of Port Canaveral. It's being built in the same shipyard that built the Magic and Wonder.

Thanks for the article. The new ship sounds great, but that's horrible what Carnival did dumping waste illegally!

July 2003.

So for Halloween 2002, it will still be the Carnival Pride at Port Canaveral. For Halloween 2003, it will be the Carnival Glory.

You're right Horace. I was rushing things by a year. Albiats accidentally did that the other day as well when he was talking about the Magic going into dry dock.

We are booked on the Pride for January 2003. I would be interested in what others think in comparison. I have cruised Carnival before, so I do have an idea of how they run things. Both lines have different things that the others don't do, although I have to say, I have never seen an debarkation run as smoothly as it does on Disney.
