Dave,
Can you direct me to your list of noisy rooms and other "problem" areas. I remember seeing this list a while back but can't find it now. Thanks so much!

For the majority of the rooms, Deck 2 is very quiet and you should have no problem staying there. But there are some zones where staterooms are near loud mechanical equipment (electrical lockers, transformer rooms, a/c equipment rooms, ship's propellers, cargo hatches, etc.).
So with the disclaimer that "your mileage may vary" and that you may be willing to put up with the "dull roar" in exchange for a good fare, these are the rooms that are in noisy zones:
<nl>
2000 - 2004

2032

2036 - 2045

2078 - 2085

2088 - 2096

2114 - 2129

2139 - 2153

2500 - 2520

2534 - 2547

2586 - 2600

2626

2630 - 2653</nl>
Also, on Deck 1, you might want to avoid 1030 - 1037.
The noise in these zones is not so loud that it would ruin your vacation, but if you are sensitive to noise, you would probably want to consider another room or be sure to bring earplugs to wear when you go to bed.

Not really. All the staterooms on Deck 5 are well removed from the public areas, and there's not that much traffic in the halls. Also, no problem with noise from mechanical equipment like on the lower decks.

OK, now I am worried. We are staying in cabin 2590. I asked MS if that was considered and "noisy" room and they assured me twice that it wasn't.
We set sail on June 29 and it seems as though the boat is full. Should we be concerned. This will be our first cruise. We actually wanted a higher cat but they said that was all that was available at the time we booked. The only other option at the time (8 weeks ago) was right outside the elevator. MS said that would be noisier.
We are not light sleepers nor heavy... Thoughts????

I wrote a post about our room #2612. Its a few pages back. You may want to take a look at it as I think the cabin #2594 is the one they gave us to shower in. 2594 Was VERY noisy to the point my 6 yr old DD was spooked being in the room.
