When my husband got a paycut at work I thought that would be the death of our disney trip. We were staying at the All star music suites. However with the loaner of a pop up we are now staying at Fort wilderness and our trip is still on, not only that but we added an extra day :) We are first time campers so any advice would be most helpful. I have already read and copied the packing list. I have 5 kids ages, 13, 9, 7, 3, 3.

Wow, you have a small tribe lol. I would suggest plenty of towels and separate bags for each kid for their hygiene stuff. Crocs or flip flops won't hurt either for coming back from the showers.
Sounds like you made some lemonade out of those lemons.

Think about planning a day for just "hanging out" at the campground. Fort Wilderness has a lot to do. Check the outdoor movie schedule. There is the marshmallow cookout show thingamabob. Check for daily activities.
The "SeaRaycer" boats are fun as heck, but are expensive. You can cut down on the cost a little by putting two people in a boat.
Make sure you get a picture of your crew on the rocking chairs on the porch of Crockett's Tavern!

Did your packing list include fishing poles ? You have a couple children that are just the right age to fish or try fishing.
Not everyone can say, "I went to Disney World and caught a fish !" :thumbsup2
Ya'll are gonna have the bestest of a time !!
Also every night at 9:45PM on the lake,,the electric light parade comes by the Fort, be anywhere on the lake shore and you can see it,,really cool for the family,,,,and it's free.

Great save on the trip! Best advice, consider an inexpensive tent to bring along also to store extra gear in that you might not want under foot in the camper, practice cooking outdoors at a local park (one that has the charcoal grills), see if you can borrow a two burner stove (if you don't have one) and pack plenty of smiles! You are going to love this place.
Not sure what else to give for advice, have any specific questions? If you've never towed before, maybe try that a few times if you can to get the hang of it. Another tip for first time towing - plan way ahead and scope out parking lots before pulling in. See if there is enough room to drive through without having to back up. At least with a pop-up, you will be able to tell if some yahoo is riding the rear bumper of the trailer and tailgaiting. I've had to send the oldest son back to speak with people in the past to let them know I need to back up and if they were waiting for me to move out of their way, they had a long wait.

Are you familiar with using a popup? If not, see if you can borrow it for a driveway campout. It's great to workout the kinks and builds the excitement too....(as if it needed more building).
I have a feeling the All Star suites will lose out to the Fort from here on out. Enjoy.
