According to different websites (allears, etc.) when you make reservations for Hoop Dee Doo and/or the Spirit of Aloha show you have to make payment in full at the time of booking.

How does this work if you are using points from your dining plan to "pay" for these shows? When I call to book them will I have to pay for anything in advance if we using the DxDP?

Will I need to give them a credit card at all during the booking process? If so will they charge anything on my credit card or would they only use it if we were no-shows?

If you tell them at booking that you will be using the dining plan to pay, you will have to give a credit card number to guarantee the reservation. It will not be charged unless you don't cancel and don't show up.

And, if you add dining plan after you've booked the ADR, you should be able to get them to refund the pre-paid charges and use dining credits instead.

It is a 3 day cancellation policy so if you are on DDP or DxDP then you tell them that at the time of booking. They still take your card to hold the spot but do not charge you unless you cancel past the 3 days or are a no show. We just went to the HDDR on Tuesday and LOVED loved loved it! Got Cat 1 seating for the 9:30 show and would absolutely do it again.

So I have a Hoop De Doo ADR, (category 2 seating, early show) and we're currently on the regular DDP. I think I'm gonna call & upgrade to the DxDP.

I think I read that the only show where you can get category 1 seating on DDP is the 9:30 show, which is too late for us. Is that still true if you are using DxDP?

Yes that is correct. The type of dining plan that you have doesn't change which seating you are eligible for at which show. The only show that you can get the category 1 seating at with any of the dining plans is the 9:30 PM show. Unfortuantely it also is too late for us as we are traveling with two 7 year olds who are normally in bed by 8:00 PM.

That's what I thought.:guilty: I have a 5 year old son, that is also usually in bed by 8. On vacation we might be able to stretch it to 9, but no way we could do a 9:30 dinner show seating.
