My BF is currently gone for the weekend and I am stopping by his dad's house tomm to pick up the dog while he's out of town. I thought while I am there I would take his dad a pan of lasagna (I am currently throwing together as we speak) and wanted to make some garlic bread too. I have been searching the internet to no avail...Im talking about using flour and all that lol..not just putting garlic spread on already made bread...I have made homemade banana bread, white bread and breads like that before so is there a way to just throw extras like garlic or cheese in the bread recipe to make it...im at a loss lol...any help would be amazing!

The easiest is to do a pizza-type thing (like a fogaccia) and sprinkle with crushed garlic, choipped herbs, cheese etc - whatever you want. For a long loaf make up any french stick recipe, then while its cooking etc. make some garlic butter -butter, chopped garlic and parsley - then once its cooled a little cut 3/4 way through, put in lumps of butter, wrap in foil and reheat in oven for a few mins.:thumbsup2

I'm probably too late... but next time use this one! It is best served HOT, fresh from the broiler. I've always grated a block of parmesean and it is fantastic!
Cheesy Garlic Bread
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter , softened
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic and oregano; spread on cut sides of bread. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Broil for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Slice and serve hot.
