I just want to hear from some people who've used it with or without a coupon (preferrably without). My understanding is that I don't need a coupon, but the code gave me such a great rate compared to the others I tried, that I'm afraid of getting to the desk and not having a coupon, therefore not getting the rate.

I have used codes before with Dollar, booking my rental via the internet. As long as it doesn't specify "present a coupon" and you have a print out of your reservation you should be ok. They usually send you an email confirmation too that I print out and carry along. I'm one to carry a confirmation of EVERYTHING along with me, hotel ressies, the whole 9 yards! I've had a problem once or twice at a motel about reservations/and/or/price quoted, and I just LOVE to whip out a piece of paper with a confirmation number on it with all the specifics spelled out!

There isn't a coupon for FVG. It is a code that appears in the Dollar ad inside a "tourist brouchure/booklet" that is called the "Florida Vacation Guide". You do not need a coupon to use the FVG code and there is no reason to worry about the great rate you got. Enjoy your trip!

Hi, was that price for 7 days? Was that with all of the taxes on top? That sounds great. I have booked with fvg code, 10 days. best I could do is 302.00. That is with all taxes. The extra days hurts us. It is like 40.00 a day extra...thanks,,,corvair

Corvair, you could also try the FISH code. I used that and they quoted a Minivan for 209 per week plus taxes. This was for early July.

hi, the price of 219.99 was for 1 week, with taxesand surcharges it comes to 274.74, still the best rate I have found so far. Also when i booked it, they don't ask for any credit card info. and they give you a confirmation number. So i booked it, and if something etter comes along, I will change it but atleast i know I have a van. I still have pleny of time. We are not going until Oct14th. Good luck Ann

I used the FVG code at the Tampa airport and had no problem whatsoever. I even had a rude counter agent, but she didn't give me a hard time with my discounted rate.

My travel agent is holding a van through alamo - I think - 7 nights for $372 - same dates Oct 14th -
If I find cheaper can you cancel?
Is yours Jamounger terminal pick up? I have hear nightmares about 2 hour waits and shuttles to some car rental agencies!

I have read alot of the reviews hereon Dollar and so far no one has said anything bad about a long wait. Also October really should not be a busy time, like the summer or easter. we will be there oct 14th thru the 21st. So hopefully there won't be a wait. Ann- I used the FVG code too.

We have gotten a car thru a company that we had to take a shuttle to and it was a long drawn out nightmare waiting for the bus. it was just a huge cattle call with lots of luggage. i believe it took us a tleast two hours. i think the company was alamo but it was several years ago. As far as I know, Dollar is the only one that is right at the airport. I think you just go somewhere on the lower level and check in. Now I will have to email them to be sure. My confirmation from them lists the airport as pickup location. DebM

Dollar is very convenient to access in Orlando. You go down to rental car counter, out the door, across the walkway into the parking garage and voila, there is car.
Now, I haven't been down since 9/11, and don't know if that has changed, I'm sure someone here will post the info. But, we have traveled to other destinations, and since 9/11, you can still do your paperwork etc at the airport, but the pickup garage for the cars would have been moved to an offsite location. I'm guessing they will eventually let them back on the airport property, but not sure of this. Dollars shuttles appear to be well run and timely.
On a side note, we rented from Alamo many, many years ago at Orlando and found them to be a nightmare to deal with. I don't care for them, good price or not. JMHO Now with others saying they don't care for them, I KNOW I would not use them againl

I've tried typing in the FVG and FISH in the promo code box and also leaving it blank and they keep coming back with the same rate, it never changes, am I doing something wrong? ~:(~

I used the FVG code and got a great rate -
but I didn't try it without it - I only compared it to the rate I recieved from my travel agent ($100 cheaper) and Travelocity ($140 cheaper!)
I saw it posted here and just reserved it on Saturday no prob!

I used the FVG code also and got a great rate, when i did not use the code the price was $200 more for the week. The ad says some restrictions apply. Are you trying to reserve on a holiday week or maybe some cars do not get the discount. I got a mini-van in october . The tol free numberis 1-800-800-4000 if you want to try to call them to see whats up. Good luck, Ann

What is Fastlane?
I already made ressi online and printed out confirmation also! I did call to ask them about possible drop off at Disney (we were debating only renting for part of our stay and getting a towncar back to the airport - but pricewise we were better off keeping the car!) and when I called she said changes can be decided when we p/u which usually take 15 minutes!

Fastlane in a nutshell is something you register with them to become a member, it has been for free. Most airports have a special fastlane line, that members hop into and get quicker service than the regular registration lane. Orlando does. I've been to airports that don't have a specific fastlane line though. Anyway, they have all your info stored in the computer from when you registered, preferences for renting etc., and it does make your registration/pick up of rental a little quicker and easier.
Hey, it doesn't cost to join, so do so. You can download the form I think to join. You'll get a little card in the mail and most likely some coupons for future use.
Hope this helps.

I got a better rate with code MCC than with FVG. Try that one too. In Feb I got a minivan for $199 with the GLOBE code--no prob using it at check in.

I jUSt tried to Mcc code and the rate was $10 per week cheaper(209.99 per week for a minivan) than FVG code. WE have a 10 day stay so the additional days are still 39.99 (thats what kills us!)
Also so you know!
I accidentaly put the wrong time in and realized that we save an additional $45 dollars by going to the airport 40 minutes earlier than we planned! It was going to cost a full day rate for the 40 minutes!

Do you know where the MCC code comes from?
