Part 2 of the DisMeet - Baltimore Thread. Thought I will start FRESH.....:dance3:

If you are interested in meeting some new DisFriends and live in the DC/MD/VA/PA/DE or planning to be in town when we meet, then this is the place for you. Various upcoming meetings will be posted here. We do try to gather at least once a month. So far it's mostly been in or around Baltimore.

At the last DisMeet some were interested in going to the National Harbor located in Oxon Hill, MD. Either to Bobby McKeys which is the new Dueling Piano Bar or there's also Cadillac Ranch which is open for lunch and dinner and has a mechanical bull. Possible dates are March 7, 14 or the 21, 2009. For groups of 8+ you must have reservations, so let me know if your interested. :thumbsup2

Both places look interesting - although a co-worker went to the piano bar recently and said they weren't "dueling" so much as playing alternately...

I think the only one I might have a problem with is #3 - M&S, not seeing anything vegetarian in their sample menu although I've been to other locations and gotten something veggie... so might not be a problem after all.

All the other locations sound good to me :)

McKey's does not serve lunch. The evening menu has a variety of savory dips, served hot or cold, including French Onion Dip served cold with a bag of Lay's Potato Chips; Roasted Red Pepper-Wasabi Coulis served cold with Chilled Shrimp; Cheeseburger Dip served hot with Fritos; Beer Cheese Dip served hot with sliced Pretzel Roll; Creamy Crab and Roasted Red Pepper Dip served hot with Old Bay Chips; Black Bean Chili Dip served hot with Chicken Quesadillas; and S'mores Dip served hot with Fresh Strawberries.

OKay the other place was Bobby McKey dueling piano bar . I called them and made reservations for 5 ppl. She said we will have a table up front. The cost is $15 per person, we can arrive anywhere between 6-8pm. If we do not show up they will charge my credit card. If we have less then 5 ppl, then they still will charge us for the no shows. We have until Friday morning to call a decrees the # of ppl or cancel the reservation all together.

The food they serve is a variety of savory dips, served hot or cold, including French Onion Dip served cold with a bag of Lay's Potato Chips; Roasted Red Pepper-Wasabi Coulis served cold with Chilled Shrimp; Cheeseburger Dip served hot with Fritos; Beer Cheese Dip served hot with sliced Pretzel Roll; Creamy Crab and Roasted Red Pepper Dip served hot with Old Bay Chips; Black Bean Chili Dip served hot with Chicken Quesadillas; and S'mores Dip served hot with Fresh Strawberries.

I know TT I am dying to call in sick but it is a weekend and since it is a contracted work I cannot just get up and go... my own fault though.. if you remember last year I almost ended up at MK every Saturday since I had off Friday,Sat and Sunday... in order to anchor me down here in Pa on atleast two weekends I took a 3 yr contract with bonus (which also went for Disney) so now ... I am stuck... cant complain though it helped me get my DVC....:worship:

Okay - here's what's up for me. I've got to go into the hospital Friday for a "little procedure" that involves anaesthetic (they're going to install a brain). Right now, pre-procedure, I'm planning to come to at least Bobby McKey's for dualing pianos. I would hope that we can get something to eat before then, because it just ain't too attractive to survive on a variety of dips throughout the night.

So, if I back into the time:

1800-2000 @ Bobby McKey's means: 1630-1800 for dinner somewhere, right?

As for sightseeing - I dropped by NH a few months ago. Is there really five and a half hours of sights to see there (i.e., 1100-1630)? I wouldn't mind poking around there with DISers, but that seems like an awful long time. Can I join later in the cycle?

So, netting this out, put me down for dinner and pianos from 1630-ending. And some sort of sightseeing before then (I can text Teresa when I get there and find out where you all are).

BUT!

We had a great time at Medieval Times. As Mark said the Green Knight is EVIL. Thank God, we were seated in the section for the Black and White Knight. He was awesome. I'm having a hard time talking today due to all the cheering I did for our knight. Who by the way WON the FINAL competition :thumbsup2 (even beat the #$%!@ out of the Green Knight). And yes we ate with our hands (except for Ken, who had a vegetarian meal.)

Ditto---we had a great time (although someone thought they were going to get away with leaving their crown behind after the show). Our knight was AWESOME!!!!!!! A true hero.

My son who is in the Marine Corps works at a Marine Mountain warfare center near Lake Tahoe fell during rock climbing and shattered his foot and wrist last week. He has his second surgey this upcoming week and his birthday is May 14th so I am going to try and fly out to see him. I would have loved to visit with everyone and really need to hit Disney soon. :sad1:

Really busy at work but checking in to the DIS for some "relaxation." I've been popping in for a minute here and there all week but this evening I have more time (I don't go back on until 10:00 pm). I have the overnight but can't DIS because everything we do is "captured" somewhere in computer world.

I am not surprised the picture didn't take--I was in it. (I hate having my picture taken which is why there are so few in existence).

I hope everyone who can get to WDW for the big meet has safe travels and has a great time. I had almost talked a friend of mine into going for a long weekend but since we are both activated now we can't plan on anything.

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD (May 19, 2009) - The Peterson Companies announced today the sale of land at its National Harbor development near Washington, DC to Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Disney is considering using the 15-acre site overlooking the Potomac River in National Harbor, MD as the location for a resort hotel for families and others visiting the National Capital Region.
“We’re thrilled Disney has decided to invest in National Harbor,” said Milton V. Peterson, chairman of the Peterson Companies. “Disney is the top family entertainment company in the world, and its purchase is a great vote of confidence in the future of National Harbor and the Washington area as a top family tourism destination.”

The new resort hotel would be one of Disney’s stand-alone resort hotels separate from the Disney theme parks. This new resort hotel, like the project under construction in Hawaii, will be in a prime geographic location and will provide guests with the same comfort, fun and amenities for which Disney is famous.

“As we began identifying possible locations to grow our business, the Washington, DC area immediately jumped to the top of the list,” said Jay Rasulo, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “National Harbor offers an array of entertaining activities for regional visitors, but it is also a family-friendly base camp, from which visitors from around the world can explore the stirring sights and inspirational stories of our nation’s capital.
