Turtle Shack at OKW [Archive] - The DIS Discussion Forums

Just booked OKW today for the first time!! We'll be there 12/5-12/12. Everything I see about the Turtle Shack says it's open seasonally...can we expect it to be open in December? I'm trying to decide what area to request.

I think alot depends on the weather. We have been there in Nov. when it was great weather...pool open/shack open with limited hours. We have been there same time of year, not great weather, pool open/shack closed.

Maybe someone knows something more.

We have been twice in the middle of Jan and it was not open either week. I would guess it is too chilly but I don't know for sure about Dec.

We were there the first week of January this year, and Turtle Shack was open every day.

the lady that works there is it.

if she is sick or on vacation - it never opens.

when she is there - it is opens for lunch - but generally closes around 4 or 5 pm - so no dinner.

at least that is way it worked for us on 3 different trips.

oh she is pretty nice - asks before she closes everyone at the pool at that time - if they want a drink....
