In my experience you can expect a brief shower (or downpour) late afternoon almost daily. It is very rare to have a whole day rained out in the summer. Or rain at night, for that matter. Just a 10 to 30 minute shower, just enough to ramp up the humidity without cooling things off! ;) But again, that's been my experience, which is admittedly limited. Maybe a FL resident will chime in.

I'm not a tent camper. What I know of July/August late afternoon thunderstorms(we used to visit regularly in August) is they can be pretty darn fierce...and I imagine your site may flood pretty quickly. Afternoon thunderstorms while welcomed because they do cool things down are also pretty rough. I recall sheets of rain in August, when you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.
Good times though..squishy, water logged sneakers...:rotfl:
Bring rain ponchos when you visit the parks. Buy them at home..they're a small fortune in the parks.

I'm an Orlando native, so I have lots of experience with the afternoon showers.
"Normally" the afternoon showers are heavy and very brief. It is very rare to have rain at night. The rain usually comes around 4:00 and lasts 5-15 minutes. On rare occasions it will rain for an entire day, but that doesn't happen often. Apparently it only happens when my daughter comes to visit, so I'll try to make sure she doesn't come during your visit. ;) The rain is often very, very heavy, but it also soaks back into the ground quickly too.
The one constant in July is that it is HOT and HUMID! Go to Wal-Mart and buy some of the batter operated "squirt bottle fans". They are nearly $20 in the park and only $5 at WM. We fill them with ice and water and they are a life saver.

Your tent will become your very own personal sauna with, or without your ac. Also, I had a problem with my ac fitting my tent in a manner which blocked out all of the flying insects of the campground. Personally, as much as I LOVE tent camping... it isn't happening in July and call me cheap, but I'm certainly forking out Mickey-dollars at FW considering you pay the same price for tent camping as everyone else does with their rvs. Have a great vacation tho!

I think the important issue here is not how hot it is, or if it's raining,
but whats important is that you don't forget to pack a fishing pole. :thumbsup2
you are gonna hav'a great time!:thumbsup2

Yep! Absolutely! The first few weeks here are quite pleasant- hot, but nothing like July and August.. and even into September. :goodvibes

speaking of pool...is the pool under construction/renovation? does anyone know when it is suppose to open, is there another pool to use?
we will not be going to any of the water parks, well i did not plan on that. but we will need a pool to cool off in.

There is another pool near the cabin loops...Ive always preferred to be there because it was quieter anyway...although, Im not sure how quiet it will be while construction of the regular pool is going on. They are also allowing FW guest to use the WL pool during construction...and we all know how the WL guests feel about that!!! Such WARM, WELCOMING folks who LOVE their camping neighbors!!!!
