So they don't feel like the crowds are too much? Where do they stay? We currently have a ressie at POFQ and i'm wondering if we should upgrade resorts

We've gone about 5 times during Pop Warner, and NEVER had any issues. I would avoid AS Sports, but other hotels are fine, parks are great then too

This is typically one of the slowest times the entire year at the parks. Great time to go too, all the decorations are up, christmas music. Truly a great time. *shhh*....don't tell too many other people though. I don't want it to get too crowded for me. I'll be there this year during this time as well.

We stayed during Pop Werner week in December 2007 and hardly noticed that they were there!! We stayed at POP Century resort and didn't see many of them there or at the parks. I assume that they are probably busy with most of their competitions during the day time- but even then, we didn't notice a huge increase of people at night. We love Disney in December!! It is beautiful, less crowded and the weather is still lovely! We will be returning this December, also!

We arrived in '07 on the last 2 days of Pop. We had no problems with crowds, and agree its a great time to visit. Truly magical!!! Have a great time.

We were there from November 28 to December 26 and to be honest, the only problems we had with crowds were the last 5 or 6 days. No issues at all before that. And the weather was fantastic. We were really lucky that year. Its a great time to be there. The parks are beautiful with all the christmas decorations.
We are going Sept/Oct this time but only because we didn't want the kids to miss too much school. Our holidays are a bit different over here.

Pop Warner is a youth football program (American football). Disney hosts a large tournament with teams from around the nation in early December.
We went twice during the tournament and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. There were some teams staying there but it was not a problem at all. Very polite and quiet.
I agree with other posters; the crowds are low, decorations are beautiful and it is a magical time to go! Have fun.

We've been at WDW during PW the last 3 years in a row and really haven't noticed any big spike in crowds at all. The only thing I've heard is that it can get a bit rowdy at the resorts they typically stay at, but we camp at FW so I don't have firsthand knowledge of that.

We had a great time in December. We stayed at POP, used fastpass wisely, and never waited more than 15 minutes for anyting, but averaged 5 - 10 minute waits even for ToT, HM, Splash, Space, and Big thunder mountains. Every once in a while the cheer leaders got a little loud, but it was fine. As PP said, decorations are amazing and weather was pretty nice. Go, and have a great time!

You want to be careful when going on September since it is still hurricane season. My wife and I went to WDW and DCL in September a couple years back and our flight from California was delayed a day because of hurricanes.
Although we were lucky enough to arrive just after one hurricane left and are vacation ended right before the next one came.
I try to avoid WDW in July to September. Since you never know.
