Newbie DVC Owner Alert!

My husband and I are new to DVC, and we bought resale, so we don't have any points that have kicked yet. I'm heading down this weekend for a mental health break and staying off site (for the last time!). Does that lovely little blue DVC membership card allow me to park at the theme parks, or would I need the resort parking pass for that?

1 day and counting...

Only AP holders and those staying on Disney property get free parking at the theme parks.

Your DVC card gets you free valet parking at DVC resorts.

For the purpose of visiting that resort and not for visiting the theme park.

If you don't have an AP, you'll have to pay for parking at the theme parks.

So if we are driving down in December and staying at AKV with our DVC, will we be able to park at the parks for free?

If you are staying at DAKV on DVC points, you get free valet parking. It's super nice.

But you have to be staying on points to be entitled to it. (ie being DVC and staying on a CRO at AKL, isn't good enough.)

Yes, since you will be staying at a Disney resort (and DVC resorts are considered Disney resorts for all perks) you will receive a windshield pass that will give you free parking at the theme parks.

Thanks guys. I was hoping that was the case.

Actually, there is no requirement to be staying on points to get free valet parking at the DVC resorts with valet parking. It's a member perk, not a guest perk. But you aren't supposed to use it for visiting the theme parks.

I though it was a perk for staying on points, I can't find anything one way or the other on the DVC Member Site. I do know it seems like every time I try to use valet parking with my blue card it's an issue, except at DAKV.

And yes the OP did ask about the Parks not the resort, my bad answered the wrong question. Yes you get free parking just like every other guest staying on property. And no you aren't suppose to use it to visit the parks.

It's always been easier for me to use my DDE card.
