When we traveled on the 7 day back in Sept of 2000, we had to tender in St. Maarten. I think I can pick this out as my least enjoyable part of the cruise. I know that they've built another dock in St Maarten since then and the ship usually docks there.

Can anyone tell me if the ship ALWAYS (barring unforseen circumstances) docks at St Maarten or is there still a possiblity of tendering during certain weeks?

And from what I've seen of the new Western route reports, the ship uses tendering in Cozumel (or was it Grand Cayman) as well. Will this also be the standard?

One last one... :) I remember at some point that the Magic was able to dock in St Thomas only every other week and used tenders the other times. Also still the norm or do they always get to dock now?

Thanks!
Julie

On our January 12-19 trip, we docked at both places.

The Magic nearly always docks at both St Maarten and St Thomas. There is the remote possibility that they may have to tender in at St Thomas, but that depends on how many boats are in port that day and something to do with the luck of the draw. It never happened during the high season last winter.

The ship tenders in Grand Cayman and it went really fast. No problems whatsoever. Went to theater for tender ticket and immediately got on a boat and left. The boat was a decent size too!
