Nancy, I hope Kevin is better today!!!

Kristin, we are scheduled to do the Illuminations dinner, but now that we have talked about it, we think we might change it to the Safari. We think the kids would like it better. I don't really care, I would love to do BOTH, but they are 2 TS credits each....I guess we could and go OOP for a few. I'll have to talk to my friend and see what she wants to do!

As I was fixin' breakfast, I was admiring the St Maartin magnet on the fridge. :::Sigh::::: And as I turn around, I notice that the outside light is on, because, the snowflakes are HUGE! LOL I call it "The SnowGlobe Effect" LOL I so want to be on an island somewhere, anywhere!!!

Off to get the boys on the bus, then I am going with my friend to pick out a shelving unit for her family room and to check out her new hardwood floors her brother installed last weekend! I am SURE we'll have to stop for lunch too! LOL I better slow down or I'll have to go to work just to cover the expense of eating out everyday!

Morning all! We had snowflakes yesterday, we got about half an inch. And it took me an hour and 20 minutes to drive to work! You'd think I live in Florida or something, not sure what the problem was.

Have a good day all, I hope you can get Kevin what he needs to get better today!

the problem probably wasn't you, but all the morons on the road that don't know what they are doing! People around here do NOT know how to drive in snow! It really makes me crazy. I worry more about my safety, not because of my abilities, but because of their's!! Since I have a September Birthday, when I took Driver's Ed it was in the winter, in the snow, in my Dad's '78 Monte Carlo Wagon, that thing was a beast. Did great doughnuts!! But, I digress! ANYwho.....I did most of my driver's ed in the snow. That's how I learned. Snow does not scare me! Bwahahaha!!!
Better to safe then sorry though!!!! I hope your roads are better today!!

Oh Nancy!! That is just not right! Why make him wait and suffer!! Grrrr, some doctors!!!!!

Well, we just got back from school. They had a drug awareness program for the parents. Let me tell you! What an eye opener!!! Some of these things I would have NEVER thought of! It would have never crossed my mind even! I would post some of them here, but I would not want to give anyone any ideas! Simple things around the house and some so cheap it only takes a few dollars to get what you need. I didn't write any of it down and I should have. There is so much it is overwhelming! I feel like I am in overload!

I have a major headache tonight and was cold in the school...when everyone else was warm. I hope I am not getting what the boys have! Both of them have head colds. I am trying the Vick Salve on the feet covered in socks trick with Colton to see if it works! He doesn't have much of a cough, but I am hoping it will sooth his head too.

It is so dang cold out tonight! I can't imagine what it's like up north!!!!! Stay warm!

I hope everyone is having a good night!

Kristin, I STRONGLY beiieve that EVERY school in this country should see this program. It was very informative. Unfortunatly, I didn't write it down, just sat there with my mouth open and my chin on the floor saying "no way" and "please tell me they don't really do that". Of course the counselor said that they parents that NEEDED to see this program didn't come. There were not that many parents there, but really, they didn't do a good job advertising it. Had my friend, who is on the PTO board, not told me, I would not have known about it. We want to invite him back to speak to the entire school in an assembly. He spoke with the kids first about not bullying and how to react to bullies. How to be strong and know when to walk away. He does some karate and talks about how it helped him to turn his life around....he used to BE the bully. He also talks to them about how drugs and alcohol are not the answers. that's what we want him to talk to the kids about. After he talked to the kids, they went out to watch a movie, then he talked to just the parents about HOW the kids are using and abusing.

As soon as Steve gets home, I am heading to bed. This being a stay at home Mom is exhausting! LOL I've been to bed early every night this week!

Michele I hope you wont get sick too!! that Vicks stuff is pretty good, I use it all the time when I'm sick.
Kevin is handling this all so very well, he doesn't even complain about any pain? I'm sure there must be some since they found blood traces in his urine.
I remember when I was in school, the local police dep. came to our school and they had a huge layout of drug "stuff". It's insane what some people use!!! it's very informative and an eye opener that's for sure!!

Kristin, I think I had made that years ago, but not recently. I'll have to this weekend!!!!! I will find out if he travels. I know he works closely with the State of WV and travels around here. He said he is officially retired, but will still do this occasionally. You might get a hold of your local or state police dept and see if they have someone that does this. If you want to search him on the internet, his name is Dr Terry Smith. He teaches Karate and does this drug awareness program.

Nancy and Denis, did the Dr think kidney stone at all? I know he's young, but it could be?

I am off to my warm cozy bed!!! Have a good night and

I've never heard of a child that young with kidney stones. Steve has had many many stones in his life, his first when he was 15, and the Dr's were shocked that someone his age had kidney stones already. If there were stones I think he'd complain, Steve gets physically ill from the pain when he gets them. I bet it's an infection of some kind, hopefully easily treated with antibiotics. Good luck tomorrow!

I'm going to go read a magazine before bed for once!!! In addition to working I am now helping to plan Alexa's choir trip to DC in May. At least now I can have some control!

Night all!

RISE AND SHINE PARROTHEADS!! :goodvibes

I didn't think he'd be old enough for stones, but it crossed my mind. Steve had his first one in college. He was suppose to take his finals the next day and he landed in the ER. The Doctor knew one or 2 of his professors and called to get him excused. He took them a few days later...after everything passed. He's had a few since we've been married too. They are not fun and can be very painful.

Steve is off again today. He is going to the Eye Dr this morning at 9 and I am going to go and take the Census Test at 10.

Off to the bus!

The test is easy! The questions are on the website, census.gov. It's simple clerical stuff. Just 28 questions that have to be completed in 30 mins. I did mine in less then 20. It was my neighbor and I was the only one to show this morning. So she tells you at 15 mins and at 5. At one point she said, slow down, you haven't even passed the 10 min mark! LOL Now I just wait for them to call!

Good Night Everyone! I am heading to bed. I have been wrapped in my electric throw and it's making me sleeeeepy. LOL Calling for snow tomorrow night...after it gets to almost 50 at 4pm, then again, the bottom falls out and it storms. Too bad it's not coming Sunday night...then we'd have another SNOW DAY! LOL That's Okay, the boys will still enjoy it!

Forgot to mention, had to get Colton from school today. He puked in gym class! It's right after lunch...who schedules this?....and he has all that sinus congestion that is turning into a cough. I just think he was full of snot and didn't know what to do with it, so up it came! He seems fine now! Aside from the head cold....

Everyone have a good night!!

You probably have our cel number. We have one we just don't use it that much. It's actually out of time right now since it's a pay as you go. When I go on trips for work I add more time. Other than that the number stays active for 6 months so it lays dormant LOL

Good To know in case I ever called it....LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RISE AND SHINE PARROTHEADS!! :goodvibes

When I look out this morning, it almost looks like spring! I am itching to get flowers in the ground again! I know it's still too soon though. I did see the display at Walmart where you can start your flowers and garden from seed....nah. I'll wait until the plants are out! LOL I have thought, since it looks like I won't be employed this summer, about putting together a small garden....in a kiddie pool. Sort of like container gardening. I could do a tomato bush, a few cucumber, squash and if I put it up against the fence, I could do runner beans..then they'd have a place to climb. I think that would about fill that up. Then maybe get a strawberry pot or 2. Maybe even get a blackberry or raspberry bush to plant in the back corner of our yard. We'll see.....I still have time to debate that!

On cell phones, I would be lost without mine! Steve has talked about canceling the house phone and just going to cell phones. My sister did when they moved, but they don't have kids. However, all 4 of us have phones now. My only hesitation is that, the county uses reverse 911 here. So, say the chemical plant had a leak and we had to shelter in place, then they would use reverse 911 to notify residence. They don't use cell phone numbers, just physical address. OR if I needed to call 911, it comes up on the caller ID with your address..won't do that on a cell phone. If someone in the house wasn't able to talk, but could dial, they would know where to go. Sooooo, for the $30 a month the cable company charges, I think it's worth it.

If you want more ringtones for your phone, got to www.myxer.com they have a TON of free ringtones! My favorite is the speil from the Monorail....please stand clear of the doors, por favor..... We were getting on an elevator at the hotel in Charlotte, NC, when there was a group of Mexican men, obviosely working in the area, that came towards the elevator. Connor was fumbling with his phone. As the door shut, I asked, what are you doing? Just then, he PLAYS the monorail speil! Thank goodness the doors had already shut! We were laughing but I would have been mortified had they heard that!!!

As much as I want that monkey bread, I am going to wait until tomorrow to make it. Connor will be home and it's suppose to be snowing, so it will be a nice warm, comfort food for then!

Not sure what's on the agenda for today! We ended up not doing anything on the "Honey Do" list, so I guess we'll get on it!

My neighbor said that the church is in need of a sub on Mon and Tues, they had called her and she was going to call back and tell them she couldn't, but that I could, but the supervisor didn't call me yesterday. If she doesn't call me on Monday morning, I am going to work on the boys bathroom...finish stripping the paper..shouldn't take long, it's a trim, then paint. They have gray fixtures, so we decided on ORANGE for the wall color! I think I am going to do one wall in a dark orange and the rest in like a creamscicle orange! Then get gray mats and towels! Cross your fingers! LOL

Make It Magical!! :wizard:

Good Evening all!!!

We picked up Connor and his friend Marshall from Marshall's house at about 115 and headed over to the Grand Prix Raceway. They have 3 Go-Cart tracks, a lazer tag and a BUNCH of arcade games. and of course the standard counter food fair. I am not one for staying where there are arcade games for very long. It sends me into sensory over load...all that pinging and gun shot and skeeball thumping and whack-a-mole thwapping....ugh. I just want to VEG! I am thinking of taking my laptop to my bed and watching HSM3. That might be just what I need to do!!!!

Needless to say, we did NOTHING around the house today!!! Nada! Zip! Oh well....Tomorrow! Tomorrow! There's Always Tomorrow! It's only a day away!!!!!!!!

OK I have to say something about this monkey bread thing. For starters, I didn't follow the directions. I mixed all the ingredients together then poured them on a plate and rolled the buiscuits in the mix and baked them as you'd normally bake buiscuits. Arranged in the pan not touching. It's the same ingredients, just prepped a bit different.
They tast great but seriously now how am I supposed to lose weight eating that stuff????????????????

Good Evening!

I am laying in bed with my laptop, just finished watching HSM3. It was cute, but made me sad too!! Colton will be a Senior before I know it and he'll be having to make those decisions!!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!!! Why does their growing up have to be SO dang hard for the parents!!! Candy, I need back up!!!!

Kozmo kept barking, just one bark here and there, so I asked Steve to look and see if the neighbor's cat was near. He looked out and said, "Ah, no, no cat, but it's snowing like crazy!" Maybe Kozmo is barking at that?? Who knows...nutty dog!

Nuts...monkey bread....I would add the nuts and raisins if it were just Steve and I eating it, but Connor can't eat them with his braces. Colton would rather no nuts. So, I'll make it without as well!

RISE AND SHINE PARROTHEADS!! :goodvibes

Monkey bread is in the oven! I changed it up, just a little. I used the grands biscuits, so I was actually short about 3 ounces...I doubt it will change the recipe much, but then I threw in about a tsp of vanilla after the caramel boiled for one minute. I doubt either will make a huge difference. HHmm, I could have added a dash of clove to the cinnamon mixture! Maybe next time! I also dusted handfulls of the sugar mixture over the biscuits when they were in the pan...maybe 2 times? Just to use up the mixture and to give it some extra cinnamony goodness! LOL

We have an inch and a half of snow...yes, I measured it on the deck rail...but there is a coating of ice under that. It must have rained for a just a short while before the snow! It's still snowing here, looks like a snow globe. There's not much on the roads though and I am not sure how much more we are predicted to get! Last I heard was up to 3 inches.

WDWCrazzyCunninghams

Poor Hanna!!!! I hear you about being sick! Colton and Connor have been fighting it all week. Colton always seems to be worse then Connor. Connor has always been my healthier kid. And I really think it has to do with our parent's smoking. When Colton was little, we lived closer to his parents and were there a lot and I was always going to my parents...about once a month. Both sets of parents continued to smoke until right before Connor was born. Colton has asthma and allergies and Connor doesn't. Colton takes forever to fight a cold and Connor doesn't. Who knows....I mean, we both grew up with our parents smoking, and neither one of us suffer like he does. :confused3

Anyway, I hope this is short lived and Hanna is back to normal soon!!!!

Michele, I do hear ya about the smoking thing. I often wonder if some of my lung problems are because both sets of my grandparents smoked A LOT and we used to sleep over there go there when we were sick, etc... and I have had a ton of lung problems....

Not sure why this winter though both my kids have been sick... But it is begining to feel like every week someone has something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone :)
I spent the day working on the honeydoo list and I must say my significant other is pleased with my progress LOL
Next house I want a tiled bathroom. Every 2 years we have to re seal all around the tub and it drives me up the wall scraping the old stuff off. At least I'm getting quite good at it :rotfl2:

Geez how about them coming forward and helping out a bit. If they don't like it find a meeting place and hash it out in a night. Sounds like the perfect chance to get together over coffee.
At work we call these brainstorming sessions

RISE AND SHINE PARROTHEADS!! :goodvibes

Kristin, if the deadline had already passed when they asked you to add stuff, then tough patootey. If they want something else, then they can type it up on a separate sheet and send it with the newsletter, but it's not getting incorporated into what you've already done! Some people are just like that and they need to learn that a deadline means a deadline! My friend and I were just talking about this and her swim team! Some seem to think that deadlines are for other people, not them!!!

Kozmo had me up early this morning...a whole half hour!! UGH. LOL Maybe it's a good thing I went to bed early last night! I plan on cleaning house this morning, it shouldn't take too long, then maybe I can get the rest of the paper stripped off iin the boy's bathroom this afternoon. Paint tomorrow!

Everyone have a good day!!

Michele, The newsletter caused me to loose sleep last night.. Totally, nuts I tell ya.....The thing is we are no longer going to be printing a hard copy of it it will all be accesable online only to save costs, etc. for the school... So we decided to put a one page back to back flyer home in the backpack highlighting what parents can read online... So I did it email it to our PTA presidents and one really liked it the other one wants it set up like a theatre program. Well, the program publisher only allows you to do so much in it. Since you need to insert text boxes, etc..Heck, I did the best I could so I revised it a bit for her and she still does not like it... After, all this time she now wants to redo it herself. It took me hours this weekend to do it. I am tired of doing this newsletter for people just to complain that they do not like it and want it redone. So I have decided today I am going to tell her to take the program and she can do it for the remainder of the school year.. Heck, you want to criticize it all the time then you can do a better job do it up I say......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

02-23-2009, 07:24 AM
I know it is just the school newsletter but this is why we do not get enough volunteers for things since everything anyone does gets criticized by a few members and then they do not want to volunteer anymore.....It is soo politicial it is getting nutty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WDWCrazzyCunninghams
02-23-2009, 07:36 AM
Kristin, I would have done the same thing...you don't like it, have at it, but DON'T expect me to do this ever again! You are right, you wasted your weekend, time with your family, to do this and they are ungrateful. Jerks. I would step down...wash your hands of it. It's not worth the aggrivation!!!!

Okay, I have to jump in the shower since Connor text me he needs colored pencils before 2nd basic. I am really not 100% sure when that is, so I best hurry! LOL

I think I'll need to swing through Timmy's too!!!!!

Later!

WDWCrazzyCunninghams

Well, I have succeeded in not doing a dang thing in this house today! I took Connor his colored pencils, got my Timmies, got home and my friend called. I talked to her for a LONG time, then our other friend called and I talked to HER for the longest time! Before I knew it it was almost 3!!! I ran over and let the neighbor's dog out. Then my other friend dropped off Connor's shirt that he left at her house the other night so we chatted, then the preschool called and I am going to work tomorrow! Just 830-230. Now the boys are home and dinner needs fixin'! Where does the day go? LOL I think it will be fun to be back at the preschool tomorrow. Of course, all the kids will be different, and maybe the people that work there too, who knows, but I am up for it!

Kristin, how is Hanna??
