Yup, we've been to this one and the Pirate Adventure Dinner. Both were a lot of fun!!! The food at MT is good but it's dark so you can't see what you're eating, if you've got pickies that isn't good. (DD12 was 10 or 11 when we went and she hardly ate) But the food is good and the show is amazing!!!! WOW!

Pirates food was also good and it's better lit so you can see what you're eating, you also get choices there where at MT you get what they give you. Oh but at MT you need to go early, they have yummy appies out early!

If your father lives in So. Cal, have him look for coupons in the local paper or other places. They sometimes run a "buy the adult/get the kid free" deal. Or the local Entertainment Book porbably has a coupon, fi there are other coupons you would use. It's not cheap, but it's a lot of fun.

As the PP mentioned, the food isn't terribly kid-friendly and there is no kids menu. If your kids won't eat what they list on the website, I'd recommend bringing a sandwich or something. They will let you bring in anything except your own alcohol.

We may try the Pirate Adventure this summer and could then compare.

I know we can get a tickets on base through Tickets and Tours, but I also registered for emails through MT.

Pirates is doing a free admission for AD military and $10 off adults/$5 children, but we have been doing some Medieval period studies so I really wanted to go to MT.

You can put in the zip code and search for attractions coupons in the area you are traveling to. You just pay for them one at a time instead of buying the book. Most are about .99 cents.

And if it is your birthday or anniversary at Pirates they will put your name on the Marquee out front :) That is great for a surprise and it is really huge!

Oh I love this show. Its totally worth it. Dont bother paying for the pictures they take of you or go into their so called room that has these medieval torchure devices in it. Its just money grubbing schemes. But the show is SOOO AWESOME and the food is really good. We like going every time we are in California for a trip.
