Disneyholic, why the cold feet? Is it just that pre trip panic setting in? Dont worry, it will be a blast. :D

I don't think you need to worry about hurricanes now
Come with us in OCT. Now that I'm worried about.

i've been unnerved by all the FBI warnings and reports of unusual activity in the central florida area.....
not exactly conducive to relaxation....

my parents live in central Florida and don't seem to be upset about it. Try not to worry too much about it and just realize that you are at the happiest place on earth! You might want to email tinkerbell before you go for some extra pixie dust...;)
Have fun and remember to let us know how it went...

bubble mutant, we had a hurricane on our honeymoon trip(while we were in WDW) on August 1. Im figuring we cant be that unlucky again. ;) We prebooked parasailing for Castaway Cay. We plan to stay on the boat in Nassau other than getting off for a few minutes to call the kids at home.
disneyholic, dont worry. I agree it is scary every time you turn on the news and hear another warning, but I truly believe something could just as easily happen at the local mall, movie theater, etc... We cant let the whackos run our lives. We went to WDW last September 23. We were very worried about the whole trip and debated a lot before deciding to go. Once we got there, it seemed like we were in a "whole new world". We had the most magically perfect trip ever and are so glad that we went. Im sure once you get there, you will relax and have a great time.

camcolt, we were in WDW that year too!!!
well of course we were...we go every year...
i remember the hurricane....that year we stayed at one of the all stars...either music or sports...
it was so amazing watching the CMs cart everything away before the hurricane hit...and tie eveyrthing else down....
epcot opened at 11 that day....so we headed straight to norway through the pouring rain(while everyone else stopped in future world....so we had norway to ourselves for as many rides as we wanted.......
i remember running to the food court to get us something to eat in the morning....we were in one of the farthest buildings....most of the time i could run against the buildings.....but between buildings it was a deluge......and the wind.....awesome.....it was so funny watching the few people out braving the weather run from building to building....

Small world, disneyholic family! 1995? The night it hit was our last night there so we just stayed at the hotel since the parks all closed early. We did the running building to building thing at the Poly when we were trying to go to dinner & the lounge. It was fun. :D The next morning we left and had a horrible time trying to get home(no plane, had to rent a car, drive to another airport, get a plane to get a connection, that connection got cancelled, etc...) What should have been a 3 hr flight took over 12 hours.
But we are going to have "Wonder"ful weather on this trip, right?

Our first cruise was in Nov last year. Security was tight at all ports and they even have divers check the hulls of the ships while in port. All the same, with all the news, DH and I have discussed it again and mutually feel comfortable that our family will be on the happiest ship afloat.
Have a great trip! Hope our docs come soon!

GoodStepMom...
thanks for the reassurance.....have a nice cruise!
camcolt...
i can't remember what we did the night before....just all the preparations of the CMs before hand....they removed all the furniture from the pools (tables/chairs/lounge chairs)....they didn't even leave it there tied down, but actuallly removed it (i don't know where they took it all....there's tons of it)...
but i do remember the next morning....
that was the year i went to WDW by myself with the kids (for 17 days)....they were 8 and 11 years old at the time...
when i went off to find us breakfast, the kids got really worried when it took me so long to get back.....but all in all it was a great adventure for us...
