Hi Everyone!

This is my first PTR, so I hope to make this as exciting and fun as possible. I guess a good way to start is to introduce the Castmembers:
Our Family:
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/PUPPIES.jpg

Nancy: Thats me! I am a 25 year old lover of all things Disney and Pink! I am a very girly person so you will definitely see me get very excited about little things a lot through this PTR. I am a Senior Accountant, this can be very boring at times so to make things a little more lively I am also a junior varsity cheerleading coach on the side:cheer2: .

Brian: My DH ,27, who also loves Disney! I know can a girl get so lucky! Brian is a Senior Business Systems Analyst and loves anything to do with computers and video games. He has been to Disney many times as a child.

The two little fur babies in the picture are Wizard and Ace, the newest addition to our family. We got them a month after we got married and they are six months old now. They are definitely not that small any more! Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at Disney so they will not be joining us for this trip.

Our Trip: We have a trip planned for September 19-26, 2009. We will be staying at the Beach Club Villa's, in a Studio Villa:banana: . My IL's will be joining us on this trip. I am so excited to stay at the Beach Clubs we have never stayed here before. I love the beach so I can not wait for Stormalong Bay! We just booked everything this morning so I will definitely have more to come soon!

I just wanted to say Hi and introduce ourselves, I will post more soon, I promise!

Yes, we've stayed at the BC in 2003 and then again in 2006. It is so wonderful! The bright airy colors of the lobby and the sandy beach along with the pool are so wonderful! I love the proximity to EPCOT and the boat ride to the Studios is so relaxing! Best part is access to the Boardwalk Inn, Yacht Club and Swan/Dolphin for dining - only a short minute walk to each!! :)

PS: I too agree that the little things are what make Disney so special for my family! :)

I figured I would share our travel plans with you. We will be traveling by plane obviously, Pittsburgh to Orlando is a pretty far drive. We found a wonderful deal with Air Tran. Its a non stop flight both way, I couldn't believe it. Has anyone flown air tran before? We are set to depart on 9/19 at 10:52 and arriving in Orlando at 1:07, which still leaves plenty of time for Disney that day and we don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get to the airport.

We will be using Magical Express to and from the airport. I just love magical express! I love how you don't have to get your luggage from baggage claim and even the little video they play on your journey to your hotel. It gets me so excited for disney! Next stop...DISNEY!!!:cheer2: And then the fun begins.

I love AirTran..have flown them before..They do have XM Radio which is really cool. They do have complimentary headsets (well they did) but I'd bring your own. OH and they do have free soft drinks (last time I flew them). Their Boeing 717's have two seats on one side and three on the other--but I love AirTran :)

Hi Nancy! I am just joining the party, but I can't wait to read more. September is a fantastic time to go! I was there this past September and it was great. They already had the Halloween decor up and it looked amazing. Are you thinking of doing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party?

Oh good that makes me feel better! We always fly US Air or Midwest and I get nervous about trying new airlines. After this last time with US Air though we won't be flying them anymore unless we have too. Thanks for the info!

Hi! Thanks for reading so far! I am so glad to hear that September is a good time to go, I was worried about the heat and hurricanes. I don't mind if it is hot just not like blistering hot where you can't even breath. I really want to do Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party but my DH doesn't really want to. We did the Very Merry Christmas Party last November and we both loved so I hope to talk him into the halloween one. Have you done it before?

I've never liked US Scareways as I call it!!! For one they're danged expensive...more so than Air Tran or any other airline out there. Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad the captain landed that plane safely in the Hudson...But still!! And yes Air Tran is a really good airline..we're actually flying them in May (going to New Orleans). I can't wait to fly them again :)

When you do book your seats (if you see two seats on one side and three on the other) that means it's a Boeing 717--nice plane btw. I'm an aviation nut as I used to work for a competing airline and it wasn't USAirways :)

September is a great time to go. It's hot, but not like Texas summer-hot. And we only had rain one day when we were there. I haven't done MNSSHP, I didn't think my parents would like it when we were there, and I regret not going. I am planning on doing MVMCP in December when I go though.

That is a perfect name for it! When we flew them in November they canceled our flight a half an hour before we were to board. I am so glad you liked Air Tran! I think our plane has three on both side going, but we have the 717 coming back home.

You will love MVMCP! You get free hot chocolate and cookies all around the park and it snows on Main street! I loved everything about it the parade, fireworks, short lines for rides. I am excited you get to go!

We decided this trip that we would try the deluxe dining. On our honeymoon in November we got kind of tired of worrying about how many meals we had left and ended up paying out of pocket for several. This time we figured we wouldn't hold back and would splurge a little on the Deluxe Dining Plan:woohoo: ! We are going in September and I know that a lot of people get the free dining e-mails but I never receive anything, I don't think the free dining includes deluxe though. Here are a list of the places we are thinking of dining at:

Breakfast:
Chef Mickey's (love this buffet :lovestruc )
Cape May Breakfast Buffet
Akershus Princess Breakfast

Lunch:
Beaches and Cream
50's Prime Time
Sci Fi Dine Inn-This would mostly be for my FIL
Tucker House

Dinner:
Hoop Dee Doo-very excited for this!:cheer2:
Narcoossee's
Chef Mickey's-I know we are doing it for breakfast but I just love this place
Tony's Town Square
Ohana's
Crystal Palace
Le Cellier-need to try the cheddar cheese soup this time!

That is all we have so far, let me know what you think and any recommendations you may have. I am sure this will change by the time I go to make the ADR's. How does everyone like the new 90 day system?

We'll be on the deluxe dining plan. It's our anniversary and honeymoon we never got to take. Plus I've never eaten at the really nice restaurants..well a few but not all of them. If we were go go every year, I'd say no dining plan!!!

hi there! I just found your PTR and it looks great! I saw that you got engaged at WDW, my DF propsed at MK this past December!
I have flown airtran many times and have never had any problems outside of weather delays (I am from Boston, so snow frequently messes up travel in the winter). So you should have no worries with them:goodvibes

Your food picks are making me very hungry lol! I am a huge fan of chef mickeys as well! The breakfast pizza is awesome! The hoop-dee-do is one my must do list as well!

Kona looks so good! I want to try tonga toast. I bought the disney cook book the last time we were there and they have the recipe in there but you have to deep fry it and I don't have a deep fryer. Thanks for the recommendations I will look into those places.

Has anyone eaten at the Akershus breakfast in Epcot? I am debating on whether we should make reservations for there? I love eating with Princesses, but my DH really does not like breakfast that much, but I do. I really wish we could still make dining reservations at 180 day, 90 days seems so far away. I hope I don't bore anyone but I thought I might add some pictures from our Honeymoon in November. We got married September 20 but decided to wait a little bit to go on our honeymoon in November. I didn't want to rush off right after the wedding and then everything be over all at once. I am glad we waited to go. I am not really going to be able to do a day by day review of what we did because to be honest with you that was in November and this is March so I can't really remember everything that we did, but I will do my best. Also please excuse the fact that I am wearing the same sweatshirt in most of the pictures. I swear I brought a different outfit for each day but I really didn't bring anything that was warm and it was kind of cold for Florida so the sweatshirt was kind of like my jacket for the week. Also most of these are Photopass pictures, we kind of forgot our camera charger at so we didn't want to drain the battery and this was our honeymoon so most of this pictures will be of us not really of other things.

We're here! yay Magical Express:

I can't remember what park we did what day so I am doing just an overview at each park:

Animal Kingdom:
When we first got their we got fast passes for Everest and then rode Kilamanjaro Safari. I can't remember what we did next but I know we went to It's tough to be a Bug, rode Everest, saw the Finding Nemo musical which was very cute and I can't remember what else.

http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/Disney%20Honeymoon/image046.jpg
I love the Tree of Life
again sorry these are all of us, I took some of the Safari but they didn't come out every time I would get a good shot the lady next to me would put her head in front of my camera, it was kind of annoying.

This was the best Mary Poppins I have seen in Disney. She played the part so good even told us to stand up straight in the picture. Look how even the way she holds her feet is identical.

I hope I didn't bore anyone too bad with my pictures. I'm sorry I couldn't recap our days better.

This is the first time we rented and I agree we will never do it any other way. I just can't believe the money we saved by doing it. Even upgrading to deluxe dining and we still saved money. I love it. Every one I have talked to say they love Air tran, so I am excited to see what it is like. I'm telling everyone about renting!! The lady who took my wedding pictures gave me my bridal portrait book yesterday, and I even started telling her (they go to Disney every year). It's the best kept secret of Disney!!! That's awesome that you get to do deluxe dining. We might try that next time. I just don't know if we could eat that much! Last time, I was stuffed on regular dining! But...just curious, about what is the price difference? I've only ever flown Southwest or American. I'm excited about AirTran too. No I've never been in Sept. We went in Oct (I think you said you did too) and loved it, but never Sept. I didn't even know it was hurricane season until we already booked. I guess we'll just pray hard!!

Sure, the site that Staci listed is great. It worked out great for us. We sat on the call with the guy while he was on the phone with disney, so we were able to hear everything that was going on. It was super easy and you get an e-mail confirmation immediately. I was nervous at first but after doing it there were no problems.

It def. is the best kept secret. Regular dining is about $40 a day a believe and the deluxe was $70 a day. When we did the regular we were always worrying about having enough meals and paid OOP more times than I would have liked so we figured we would save with the deluxe. Yeah we loved Oct. too and I hear it is less crowded in September :cool1: . Maybe this year hurricane season won't be as bad but I think that it doesn't get to bad at Disney, or at least I hope, since it is inland. When are you able to make your dining reservations? I wish you could pay for the dining plan now and now when you get there.

It is funny about the hat. :rotfl: I remember when you went you said you and Shawn bought safari hats but I wasn't sure which one. I liked that one the best for me. Brian wouldn't get one though. You will love Disney at Christmas and you are actually going in December so you can see the candlelight procession at Epcot and the Osborne Lights at HS. When we were there they just had the decorations up and the MVMCP, they don't add the rest until after Thanksgiving. Are you going to do that yuletide tour while you are there like you were talking about?

I didn't realize that Deluxe was only $70 a day--we might have to look into it for next time. I know--I like paying for things in advance. I've already made all of the big purchases besides the DDP... We get to make ADRs on

Do you know if we're allowed to call our resorts and talk with them about our ressies? aka to request a King bed or anything? I didn't know if EVERYTHING had to go through the DVC owner or not...

I hope hurricane season isn't bad--It would STINK to have our vacation be ruined by a stinking hurricane!

You're welcome--I found my info for DVC charts from a book I bought, but this has the same info. It's just easier for people to "see" the point system

I do think everything has to go through the actual DVC owner. I called and asked a question about dining and they said I needed to have the person that I got the points from call. That seems like a hassle. You could always try and see what happens though. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.

Happy Birthday Nancy!!!

If you are staying in a Villa, then the bedding is set, there isn't any option to choose between. A king is usually standard in 1BR, 2BR and Grand Villas. The studios have a Queen bed and pullout sofa. At least this is the case in AKV.

That is what I figured too. We did CRT on our honeymoon, I liked it, but Brian wasn't a huge fan. I think that was more because he doesn't like getting up early and he isn't a real big breakfast person. I love breakfast and I love princesses, so I think it is the perfect combo!

I wrote a report on Walt Disney when I was in 7th or 8th grade. We had to write it in a biography format. I drew a picture of Mickey Mouse on the cover. Is it ever to early to begin shopping for a disney trip? I think not!

Over this past weekend I went shopping and just happened to come across a couple items that I thought would be nice for Disney. These were bought for summer but I had Disney in mind. These are from American Eagle.

Ruffled tank:

Khaki shorts:

Grey/white striped shorts:

I think the top will be a good one for Ohana. I'm thinking with white shorts.

Question: Where do you think we should eat for our anniversary dinner Ohana or Narcossee's???

I vote for Narcossee's for your anniversary! It is very romantic, overlooks the Seven Seas lagoon and if you time it right, you can see the Electrical Water Pagaent and MK Fireworks from the outdoor deck or from your dining seat! :)

Also, love the outfits, I just found a dress at AE for my Engagment pics at Epcot, they have such great stuff now! The top is perfect for Ohana, very tropical:thumbsup2

I think it was called the Ruffled Tub Top, on the website it is shown in a different color I think. So you might have to click on it and then change the color.

The skinny jeans I have are from Old Navy. I think they're called 'The Diva.' They're low rise but you can get them short, regular, or tall to wear with Uggs or flats. They're really cute!

Thanks! I am going to have to go to Old Navy. Everyone keeps telling me they love their jeans. To make matters worse I need to find a regular pair of boot cut jeans too. My favorite pair that I have had for a couple years is starting to wear a little thin. I just really don't like jean shopping at all.

So we have been trying to decide if we want to do one of the tours that Disney has to offer. We were thinking of either Backstage Magic or Keys to the Kingdom. I really want to do the Backstage Magic but don't think I want to do it for 7 hours. I like the Keys to the Kingdom but I haven't heard great reviews about it. I was also thinking of the Segway tour in Epcot. Has anyone ever done any of these before and could recommend them? Or has anyone done any one that I haven't listed and could recommend that? Maybe the Dolphin one in Epcot??

I am also wondering if I should just save the money and use it to buy our MNSSHP tickets?

On my disneymoon, we did the keys to the kingdom tour. We really liked it, learned a lot of new info and saw things that normally we would not pay attention to. I would recommend it for any one who is interested in learning more about the park and the setup. Plus if you pick the first tour of the day, you get into the park early and get to explore without the crowds. Last year we did the backstage one at AK, it was really cool to see the animals up close and see the behind the scenes of how the animals are cared for. This one was about 3 hours long and included a tour safari ride without the traditional safari ride commentary. Hope that helps. :wizard:

A guy that was in our group did ours and did the dolphin one the day before and I asked him which one he liked better (because i wanted to do the dolphins) and he said her was surprised but he loved the scuba one the best! The one at Animal Kingdom sounds really fun too! The Keys to the Kingdom def. looks interesting and I would love to be in the park before everyone else. Well they have G by Guess but that is a little different than Guess. Pretty much the same thing but the last time I bought jeans at G by Guess they were like a thinner material and the waste stretched out fast.

I think I might be leaning more towards MNSSHP because you can do any of those other tours any time of the year and MNSSHP is only there during halloween. I wish we would go during Pirates and Princess one time.

They take you behind splash mountain and then to the underground area. You also get to ride haunted mansion and jungle cruise with your group and they point out a lot of details that we all just pass by. I think it is something that everyone should do once. Makes you appreciate Disney even more!

LOL, you wouldn't look cheesy it was your honeymoon you should be holding hands. I think the thing that makes me mad about the dolphins encounter is that you aren't guaranteed dolphin interaction and it is only for a half an hour. I would rather spend the little more and go to Discovery Cove I think and actually swim with them. That is funny about the wet suits, I would have felt the same way!

So I am trying to decide which lunch we should do at Animal Kingdom. Originally I figured we would do Tusker House but now looking at Yak and Yeti's menu I think that sounds better. I'm not sure if anyone remembers these but in the 90's General Mills came out with Golden Graham treats. They are the Golden Graham cereal with marshmallows and chocolate. Kind of like a big old S'more, as Rachel Ray would put it YUMMO! So around this same time was when I took my first ever Disney trip. I was on the dance team at my school in 8th grade and we got to go with the band to DISNEY!!! I was never so excited in my life. Well as you can imagine we took a bus and Pittsburgh to Orlando is a pretty far drive, so snacks were definitely required. Well what did I bring, but a big old box of Golden Graham treats. Now don't make fun but the taste of those little cereal bars immediately bring back memories of Disney and make me remember that wonderful first trip. So as you can probably guess General Mills, for some reason, stopped making these tasty little bars. Like they do with most fabulous products, Hi-C Ecto Cooler anyone???

So after some time (about 11 years later) I got over my search for these and just figured that they would never sell these again and I would never get to taste my first taste of Disney magic again:sad:.

Well I just happened to be in Sam's club the other night and very rarely walk down the cereal aisle there but something just pulled me in that direction. I look up and you can guess what i see...

http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/golden-grahams.jpg
Kind of a bad picture..sorry!

:dance3: :banana::banana::banana: :dance3:

I almost fell over with excitement. I scooped up the big old box and could not even wait to get into the car so I could rip it open and taste that magic again. Needless to say they did not disappoint and still taste exactly the same. I will more than likely be bringing a few of these with me for the plane ride in September.

sorry I know this story was kind of long but I just wanted to reminise about one of my first Walt Disney World experiences.

I am sorry I haven't posted in a little while. I really haven't had anything new going on. We still have a little while before we can book our ADR's. I kind of nervous about making my ADR's this year due to the Free Dining that they have offered. I am kind of scared it is going to be extremely hard to get a reservation. What do all of you think?

I figured I would post some of our favorite things to do at WDW. I really love everything but we do have our favorites.

Magic Kingdom:

1. Splash, Big Thunder, and Space Mountains. (Even though Space mountain will be closed this trip :sad1:)
2. Mickey's Phillharmagic
3. Peter Pan's Flight,
4. Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (I love the bounce with Tigger part!)
5. Jungle Cruise
6. Dumbo
7. Pirates of the Caribbean
8. Haunted Mansion
9. Hall of Presidents
10. Buzz Lightyear (This is more for DH, I just can't get the hang of this)

New to try:
1. Magic Carpets of Aladdin
2. Mad Tea Party (I am always worried the spinning will make me sick)
3. Snow White Scary Adventures

Epcot:

1. Soarin (Even though I have only ever rode this once and I was in the second row, I hated that I saw everyones feet)
2. Mission Space (Orange side, we are brave)
3. Test Track
4. The Sea with Nemo and Friends
5. The aquarium after the Sea with Nemo and Friends
6. Turtle Talk with Crush
7. Honey I shrunk the Audience (I know it is old but I still love it)
8. The Countries (given)
9. Club Cool

New to try:
1. Living with the Land
2. Maelstrom

Hollywood Studios:

I am so bummed Space Mountain will be closed when we're there too. :guilty:

You've never done Snow White?? Seriously?? We always go on this cause it seems to have the shortest line of of the 3 dark rides!

Maelstrom is fun if you don't get a screaming child on it. It was like riding with a banshee.

Crush n Gusher is the BEST! I absolutely love it, did it 3 times the last time I was there. I'm hoping to fit in a Typhoon Lagoon vist during our trip.

Your lists look sooo great!! I know--I'm really worried about making ADRs too. And the 90+10 can really mess them up too. My DH just laughed at me when I said "What if there's someone who's coming on the 19th who wants ALL of our same ADRs?! It can happen!" :confused3 I know I'm just being silly, but I'm still nervous. But I've been reading some PTRs for June/July and they got theirs fine. Since we're going during a less-busy season, we should be ok... Hopefully.

Haha, I say the same thing! I keep saying what if someone's trip is almost over when we get there but they were able to book all these ADR's like a week before me since they can book 10 days out. I am hoping we are okay since a lot of people are back in school in September. I am just nervous about free dining. I always feel so much better after I make my ADR's. At least we have each other to get through this right!

I know I have never been on Snow White. It is always that one ride that we just never get to. I making it a point to go on it this time. You ride in a mining cart right? Oh we love Typhoon Lagoon, my DH would go their everyday if I let him. He loves to swim. When we went in November is was closed, so it is a must this trip.

Yeah, it looks similar to a mining cart, it's carved out of wood and they have the dwarves faces on them. The witch scared me when I was a little kid on that ride.

I was thinking of making a Blizzard Beach (never been) stop on our trip but am dying to go back to Typhoon Lagoon. Decisions, decisions.

Snow White sounds so cute! We wanted to go to Blizzard Beach in November but it was too cold. I hear they keep the water there 5-10 degrees cooler since it is a winter theme. One of the Disney boat drivers told us that. It looks fun though, we have never been there either. If you go let me know how you like it.

Great lists! You should really try Primeval Whirl in Animal Kingdom (Dinoland USA), it's like a cross between the Tilt-a-whirl and a mini coaster. I can't quite do the teacups with all the constant spinning, but the PW is intermediate, may be a good start for you! We thought it would be silly, and be a kiddie ride, but we've gone on it the last 4 years, it's really fun! :thumbsup2

I am debating the whole vera bradley bag. I usually carry around my baggalini during Disney trips and it always works out great. I wanted another bag that was more like a purse than a bookbag. I see a lot of people talking about the Vera Bradley bags and wanted to get your opinion. I have three colors that I kind of like. I have to admit I have never been a huge fan of these but these patterns don't seem too bad. Here they are in the Hipster:

Mod Floral Pink:
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/modfloral.png

Purple Punch:
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/purplepunch.png

Puccini:
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/puccini.png

Now here is my other issue, do I go with the hipster (above) or the mini hipster. here they are:

Mod Floral Pink:
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/pinkmini.png

Purple Punch:
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/purplemini.png

Puccini:
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/puccinimini.png

I really need help with this decision. I appreciate any recommendations from my wonderful fellow Disers!

Purple is my favorite color so I love the purple option for both styles! :) As for the size, it all depends on what you bring to the parks. I like to carry as little as possible!

Here's my opinion. I never liked the Vera before either, but I bought my first Vera especially for our Disney trip. I bought the full size Hipster in the Puccini pattern. Here's the pic on our morning before we left for the airport:
http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/30/l_9b3df4846e97428697eb07d4723b5a7a.jpg

I personally think it's bigger than it looked online and it all depends on what you normally bring. I had my camera, full size wallet, bandaids, sunscreen, wet-naps, ipod, plus usual travel accessories and still had room for a small souvenir bag. With me, I don't think I would ever be able to go to the mini due to my camera, but it was perfect for the trip, and very comfortable with the long strap in the parks. I love the whole hands free purse thing. I LOVE the purple punch pattern and would have gotten that one if the pattern was out when I purchased my puccini pattern in december, so I'm still leaning toward getting another one. But first go with what you NEED with you to vote hipster vs. mini hipster and then pick your pattern. Good luck! :goodvibes

Also, if you have a preference on your patterns, since the Purple Punch is a new pattern, you're going to pay almost full price for the bag. If you are looking to save some money, go with either the Puccini or Mod Pink. Also, if you want to save even more money, buy either pattern you choose on ebay, they'll be a lot cheaper! :thumbsup2

I wish the purple punch came in pink. I liked that one though because it wasn't too much and the base of the bag was black. I wear more things that would require a black bag than a brown one. The puccini pattern is so cute though. Thanks for the help!

The puccini is so cute! See I pretty much carry around our camera (not real big) and our KTTW cards and my phone. So the mini might work. But sometimes I want a sweatshirt so that is where I would need the hipster. I doubt I will need one in September though.

I bought a Mini Hipster and I really, really like it!! It's super comfortable to carry when I'm not taking much. I'm looking forward to using it at Disney. I can fit my camera, chapstick, pens, notepad, cell phone, and money/cards. But I think I'm gonna buy a regular Hipster for days I want to take ponchos or water with me... But if you can find one on sale then I'd FOR SURE buy one!! :thumbsup2 You can't really beat it.

Haha, I should get two since I am so unsure, but I don't think my DH would go for that since I just bought a baggalini messenger bag before our honeymoon for Disney. I love the size of the mini hipster but I think I might have to go with the hipster just incase I want to bring water or something. I will eventually go down to look at them at specialty luggage and hopefully make up my mind. thanks for your help!

Hey!

So yesterday I finally walked down to Specialty Luggage to see the Vera Bradley bags in person. I really love the Purple Punch in person. The Puccini was nice but I thought it looked a little brighter online than in person. The Mod Floral is nice to but maybe a little too much in the hipster. I tried on both the hipster and the mini and I definitely liked the hipster better. The mini was just a little too small for me. So it looks like the winner is....

Purple Punch Hipster!
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt28/nancyw16/purplepunch.png

I also got an e-mail that said if I spend $40 I think, I get the luggage tag for free. I just need to go buy it now and I am all set.

Oh and by the way, one of my fears was that I would buy it now and a couple months she would come out with more colors and I would like them better. Well the guy at the store gave me a little sneak peak to her next line of colors and they are all darker. Lots of teals I noticed. Which makes sense since that will be the fall line.

Thanks to all of you for your help with this!:goodvibes:

Thanks for reading. Thats so cool our trips will overlap. Most of our nights we pretty much wing it. But a lot of the times we will go to some of the EMH's or we go to downtown disney. We also both love to swim so we usually have a late night swim.

That is def. a good idea! The mini is absolutely perfect if all I knew I had to carry were my KTTK card, my phone and camera. I just know me and would probably get there and wish I had a bigger bag. Now if you get both you can switch them up. Are you going to get the same pattern you have in mini?

Thanks! I'm excited about it. I just figured some days I'll want to take more than others. I will prob end up using the regular during the days and the mini at night (since it will be more chill and I won't need water, ponchos, etc). No...I want to get a different pattern. In my hipster, I carried a small wallet, my camera, my trip journal and pen, sunscreen, cell phone, chapstick, sunglasses (at night). I loved it! In the small zip pocket (which I believe is now a flap) I carried flat things like band-aids and hand wipes.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been super busy. While I sit and wait for the September hours to post :rolleyes1 I figured I would list where we would like to dine in the world. And since we are on the deluxe dining we will be eating a lot!

Breakfast:
Chef Mickey's
Cape May (since we are staying at Beach Club)

Lunch:
Sci Fi Dine Inn
Yak and Yeti
Beaches and Cream

Dinner:
Tony's Town Square
Narcossee's
Ohana
Le Cellier
Hoop Dee Doo
Crystal Palace

Now the seventh dinner that we had was for Chef Mickey's but I figured since we are already doing this for breakfast and we are doing Crystal Palace for dinner this might be over kill on buffets. Can anyone recommend somewhere I don't have listed above that is on their must do dining list?

Also, I went to JC Penney's tonight and picked up a new piece of luggage. We had some issues with my pretty pink luggage that I took on our honeymoon. One of the wheels broke off when it was in our hotel room and then the other one broke off when we got it at the airport.:( My DH was not a happy camper carrying that through the airport. I am not a light packer, my bag is always around the 50 lb mark! So I was allowed to buy something new for this trip. I wasn't able to copy the picture to post in here but it is a Platinum Gray 30" duffel. It is so big and super lightweight, only 7 lbs. DH liked it so much we might go get a second one :woohoo:. It has wheels and the pull up bar to pull. It is wonderful!

Hmm..I see you're already doing Tony's (for Italian I mean, haven't done that one yet though), but Tutto Italia was really good.
Or if you're in the mood for something more laid back, we really really liked The Grand Floridian Cafe, amazing desserts! You get 2 mini desserts per person! Dbf got a steak for his entree and crab cakes for his app, but I got a sandwich and their pear salad was out of this world! Plus you get to see the gorgeous GF lobby while you're there! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the ideas! I think we may switch our Tony's to Tutto, the menu there looks so good! And we ate at Tony's last year on our honeymoon. Now it was our first day there and we were absolutely starving so I don't know if that is why we liked Tony's or if it is really good. So I am excited to try Tutto!

I don't know if I ever got my reservations because I woke up before that. I wish it were still 180 days, it seemed less stressful then.

We changed some of our dining plans around over the weekend. We have switched out Tony's Town Square for Tutto Italia, I have read so many good reviews on this and the menu looks amazing. We also replaced our Chef Mickey's dinner for Hollywood Brown Derby-Fantasmic Package. Fantasmic is only showing on the 20th and the 25th that week. Well the 20th is out because that is our 1 year wedding anniversary and I am not rushing from dinner to try and make it to Fantasmic so that only leaves us with the 25th, our last night. So I figured it would be easiest to eat at Brown Derby with the fantasmic package. I am also kind of upset because from the looks of it the only park that has EMH that evening is Animal Kingdom, I was really hoping for MK EMH but I guess we can't have everything. 103 days to go!:dance3: and only 13 until we make our reservations!

In other good news, our park tickets came in the mail this weekend!!!

:woohoo: It's getting closer and closer! Let me know how the Hollywood Brown Derby is. We were thinking of doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package but decided against it. The restaurants we love there aren't part of the package! 2 weeks to go until we can make our ADRs! :yay:

I know--I can't wait for it to be time to make ADRs! Then a big chunk of the planning will be behind us! :thumbsup2

We were thinking about doing the Fantasmic package, but now everyone has to line up in the same line...so I've heard it's not as good of a deal as it used to be. I also heard that they start giving away the reserved seating after a certain time...so if you're far back in line, they might give away your section before you get there :confused3 Maybe what I've heard is wrong...hopefully it is!

We're going to Fantasmic that same night! Maybe we'll run into each other...and every other person who is there for Fantasmic...it's going to be packed! :scared:

Are you checking in on the 19th or 20th? I forgot...and I'm guessing it's the 19th if your ADR day is the 21st... It's getting closer and closer! :woohoo:

Look like you got some good dinning choices. I noticed you were asking about Hoop dee Doo? Its great! You will love it and have a great time. We did it 2 years ago and had to put it back on our list of must do's for this year. Just as an FYI (thought im sure you already know) you can do the 9:30pm show and get Category 1 on the DDP otherwise you will get 2 or 3. Oh ya if your looking for another suggestion Id recommend Raglan Road at DTD. It was one of our last choices last year and it happened to be one of the better meals we had all trip.

subbing--be back to read later! BTW, the seating for the Fantasmic package isn't really that good. You also still have to get there early (you can't wait till the last minute to go to the show), and you usually have to eat dinner around 4pm, too early for me. I'd rather go for a nice sit-down lunch, get to the Fantasmic theater about 1 hour or so (maybe longer, since they aren't having as many shows), and get dinner from the concession stand in the stadium.

Hi Nancy! I see you got your PTR moved back! Only 13 days till you make your ADRs, so exciting!!! When we went, the calendar only had Fantasmic playing twice the week we were there too, but then it ended up being more than that, even twice in one night! So check the tv to see if they'll be having it any additional days! Also, if you're in DTD and want to stop somewhere for lunch, I recommend T-Rex! The food was good, but it's more for the atmosphere!!! It was awesome! EEE, I'm so jealous, I want to go back!!!!

I can't wait for Tutto, I have read great things about it. I might have to pass on the tiramisu though, I am not a fan of coffee so I don't really like tiramisu. I wish I did though.

T-Rex does take reservations. We ate there in January. They have a separate number to call, but I think I read somewhere you might be able to call Disney dining now. T-Rex has it's own website where you can find the number to call. They are NOT on the DDP, but they do accept Disney Visa Rewards points. We had a lot of fun there in January! It's very loud, but our DD just loved it. They also have a Build-A-Dino store that's owned by Build-A-Bear. Very cute!

I know i'm late in the game.. but i love your PTR...:surfweb: :wave2:

I loved your honeymoon recap.. it seems like you both had an amazing time. I love the shirt you got from AE... and UGGS are my fav. I buy a new pair every year.. my last pair bought in Downtown Disney!!!

Oh Tours... we love doing tours.. we've done the Segways in Epcot and the Aqua Seas Tour.. they both were absolutely amazing and get full recommendations from dbf and I!!!

I'm not sure if you decided on a restaurant for AK already.. but we love Tusker HOuse especially the character interaction.

ohh.. I"ve NEVER heard of those Vera Bradley.. WOW.. i'm impressed. Isually i just make dbf carry a pack back i may look into purchasing one... Nice choice on the purple punch hipsters... purple seems to be my favourite color nowadays.

I love getting new luggage... It makes me feel like my trip is just around the corner. LOL (even if it's still a couple of months away). I just bought new luggage.. it's sorta a plumberry color (purple trend?)...

June 21 is just around the corner.. i can't wait to read what ADR"s you got!!

You are not late at all, Welcome and thanks for reading! I couldn't agree more with you on the luggage, after I bought the rolling duffel I went back the next night and bought the same one in burgandy for me! My DH kind of claimed the gray one. I can't wait to try them out. I was always such a suitcase person but this was so light and seemed so much more sensible. My VB hipster actually just came in this week and I love it, I used the Baggalini messenger bag last year and I really liked that it just got annoying when I would go on rides. I am still bringing it this time but maybe will use it if we get a cooler night so I can carry a sweatshirt in it. Thanks for your info on the tours, we are still undecided but might try out the keys to the kingdom tour. Thanks again for reading!

I think we are going to try out the 9:30 show, when I call do I just tell them I want category one seating for 9:30? Yes it is all you can drink alcohol, I think wine, sangria, and beer.

Yes I'm going to be there! :)

Have you looked at the online ADR system yet? I might play around with that before Sunday but I wasn't sure if we would be able to use it since we went through DVC :confused3. Yeah, I've been "researching" it for the past couple of days. I don't know what I think about it... I successfully reserved 2 meals for 1 week before we go (and then cancled of couse ;) ) just to practice. It didn't ask for my ressie # or anything :confused3 I hear that DVC members can't do the 90+10 as of now. So if that's the case, I'll still be calling. It does look like online ADRs open one hour before phone ones... So that could be annoying. Maybe they'll get it to where we can reserve by the time we're supposed to. I hope so!! We're used to eating early (like 5 or 5:30) so hopefully that will help too...most people want later ressies. I'm not TOO anxious, but I'm ready for Monday to get here and get over with! :upsidedow Good luck!!!

Well today was the day! I woke up at 6:15 to get ready to make my ADR's. I looked over all our restaurants and the days to make sure everything lined up. I made sure I had all the required information (reservation number, credit card, etc). And by 6:45 I sat anxiously waiting the call. :rolleyes1 I started dialing at 6:59 and at 7:00 on the dot I got the wonderful message "You have reached Disney Dining..." I got right through to a cast member the second after I pushed the 2 for Victoria and Albert's, I did not wait at all, I was so excited! First request out of my mouth was that I wanted Le Cellier on September 23, gave her my reservation number, and she looked. She then said I'm sorry Le Cellier is completely booked on September 23. I was in shock, I know this is a popular restaurant but completely booked :scared1:. She then checked every other day of our stay and said most of the dinners are after 8:45 that are open but she was able to find me one that was earlier on our last night, so I took it. I had to flip flop that with our Narcoossee's dinner but that was fine. We got everything we wanted with just a couple tweaks with times. By 7:20, I had all my reservations numbers and I was set. The cast members name was Gina I believe, and she was wonderful. I didn't even look at the online reservations since I couldn't book out for 10 days on there, but I imagine since that opens at 6 am and the phones don't open until 7am that people are going on and making a lot of double reservations. But here they are the ADR's:

Breakfast:
Chef Mickeys
Cape May Cafe buffet

Lunch:
Sci Fi Dine Inn
Yak and Yeti

Dinner:
Crystal Palace
Citrico's (our 1 year wedding anniversary)
Tutto Italia
Hoop Dee Do Revue
Narcoossee's
O'hana
Le Cellier

One thing about Hoop, I asked Gina if I could get Category 1 seating at the 9:30 show and she said that I could get any category that I wanted on the dining plan as long as they were available. I am not sure if this is 100% correct since everywhere else that I read you couldn't get the earlier shows in category one. So she checks anyways and the show for 7:15 is all booked up except for Category 2 so I just went with 9:30 in Category 1.

So we are all set and I am so excited! I was ready for the ADR day to get here and be done with. It is very stressful and now we can just look forward to the trip. Now I might start my packing list and start a list of things I will need to pick up at the store. 90 days from today I will be in the most Magical Place on Earth! :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:

This is the first ive ever heard of being allowed Category 1 on the DDP outside of the 9:30 seating. We did the 9:30pm show in Category 1 before and loved it so regardless if the information is true or not I think you will be happy with the 9:30pm ADR. Just as an FYI unless you are driving you will have to take the bus from Fort Wilderness to DTD then connect to your resort in order to get back at this time of night.

That is CRAZY about Le Cellier. When we booked it of our honeymoon last November, it was not a hard ADR to get. What are your other two reservations? I would keep checking each day to see if something changes, people might cancel or they might be double booked because of online ADR's. Don't give up!

The other two ADRs I need are Hoop Dee Doo and San Angel Inn. Anytime I've been in San Angel Inn, it's never really been busy and Hoop Dee Doo has 3 show times so I should be ok there. Same story for us. Le Cellier is completely booked the 21st and the 24th as well :sad2: And we just couldn't take a 9:30 or 9:35 ressie for 'Ohana. Oh well... I'll keep checking back with 'Ohana.

Yesterday we get the dreaded e-mail, "the time of your flight has been changed". We were originally supposed to leave at 10:52 and now we leave at 11:35. I know it is not that big of a deal but I immediately started having visions of our honeymoon flight. Let me just say not the way you want to start off your honeymoon.

Honeymoon story: When we booked our trip through AAA, they were able to find us a direct flight with US air that left at 7am and got us to Disney around 9:30. Well about three months later I called the airline becuase I had a question and when I gave her our flight number she said we weren't on that flight. So I call AAA and she tells us that our original flight was cancelled and now we are on the flight that leaves at 8 still direct though. What ever, thats fine we will still be at Disney by 10! So a month before we leave, we receive our Magic Disney Mail, extremely excited I ripped open that envelope to read about our trip. What is the first think I see, US Airways flight leaving at 9am and a new flight number :scared1:! So again I call AAA to ask about this and again she tells us that they are condensing flights and we are on a new one but not to worry it was still Direct! So now we are at the airport that morning anxiously awaiting Disney World, when all of a sudden the lady that works at the booth of our gate went on the loudspeaker and said that our flight was delayed by a half an hour. So we decide that is a good time to go get breakfast and come back in a half an hour. When we get back we notice that no one is sitting at the gate. The lady sees us sitting there waiting and never says anything to us. We wait for about 5 min and then ask her if the flight was delayed more, she then proceeds to tell us that our flight was cancelled and we would need to go to customer service to get a new flight! We were both enraged at this point and the line for customer service was so long because everyone was trying to get to Orlando. When we finally got to the counter we were put on a flight that left in 20 min and was connecting. Well we paid for a direct flight so certainly we should get something, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, except for a couple of meal vouchers that were only good in the Pittsburgh airport and only for that day. Well we just ate breakfast and our other plane left in 20 min. Needless to say, I will NEVER fly US Air again.

So now you can understand my frustration when I got that e-mail. I have a good feeling about Airtran though and I do not think the same situation will happen.

Oh my gosh!! That is sooooo irritating!! :headache: It is really a shame when we still have to pay outrageous prices for flights that we may or may not get! I'm so sorry! And I hope that you're upcoming flight will be good! Here's some pixie dust! :wizard:

You've convinced me NEVER to fly US Air. I've had problems with my flights being delayed but that's due to Newark Airport being so busy and ridiculous. I hope that you don't have a headache like that again!

We flew USAir back in the day when they used to serve you a full breakfast for a 2 hour flight to Florida, but we've been flying Southwest ever since. They always seem to be cheaper, especially with the online rates, will reimburse you if your flight price ever goes down and I've never had a problem getting a direct flight. I can definitely feel your frustration though, thankfully you were able to fly out the same day on your honeymoon, I can't imagine that though, and they didn't even do anything. Good luck with AirTran!:thumbsup2

We always want to fly Southwest but we always have our flight booked before their flights come out. We did get a really good deal with Air Tran so we figured we would try them out.

Hey! That stinks about your honeymoon flight!!! :scared1: I can't believe it. We're flying Airtran...and they did change our flight slightly. Luckily, it was our return flight, and now we're departing 45 minutes later (more park time). But I'm hoping they don't change anything else! :scared:

Yeah they changed our return flight too, by almost 3 hours! I am def. not complaining about that because we didn't even think we could go to the park at all that day. Yeah, lets pray for no more changes!

I have some exciting news that is a little off topic but I got a new job! It is within my same company. Currently I am a Senior Accountant for a company in Pittsburgh. Starting in September I will be working in our Internal Audit department as an internal auditor. I am very excited about this. I have been an accountant for four years now and it was just time for a change. I will get a lot of experience being an auditor and I am very excited to learn a lot of new things. One thing with my new position is I will be traveling more. My company owns a lot of different colleges around the US so we travel to those schools to audit them from time to time. One of our schools is opening a campus in Orlando! I know in the past they were permitted to go to one conference a year and one of those conference locations is at Disney on Disney property. Lets just say that may have helped me in choosing this career move. A Disney trip paid for by my company, could I ask for more:cloud9:!

On to more Disney news, we are 72 days away today:woohoo:! I have created a countdown calendar starting at 30 days. I will try to take pictures and post them on here. I made one for us and one for my MIL and FIL since they are going with us. Thank goodness for Home Depot and their Mickey head paint chips:worship:! One more thing, I have started a packing list. Nothing fancy but it definitely makes the trip seem so much closer!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while but I have been super busy at work. I am training the girl that is replacing me and I have been going to meetings for my new position. I just found out yesterday that I will definitely have to be away the week before Disney. I am going to Hopkinsville, KY from 9/13-9/18. I am hoping I can get home on 9/18 around 5so I can spend some time at home that evening before we leave for Disney early on 9/19. It will be busy but I would rather go before than come back from a wonderful Disney vacation and know I have to go away for work. I promise I do have pictures of my countdown calendar and I will take some pictures of the new outfits I have bought.
