We're waiting on quotes right now from AAA with our package including the basic dining plan, but now I'm wondering if we should get the Deluxe or if we'd be wasting money. My parents want to eat at four different places/dinner shows that take TS credits (we're staying eight days/nine nights and they want to have a TS dinner each night). Plus, my then 2.5 year old will be going along. When dh and I brought her in November on the basic plan, we used snack credits to buy her extra food/chocolate milk since she wasn't always hungry when we were. We also ended up each buying a refillable mug. TIA!

My rule of thumb is if you can near 2/3s of your meal credits for TS or 2TS meals than the DxDDP may be a more cost effective choice than the DDP. If between 1/2 and 2/3s of you meal credits are TS or 2TS either the DDP or the DxDDP may be slightly more cost effective depending on the exact situation. The DxDDP does have a non-monetary benefit. In the DDP you are tracking and must decide between adult TS, adult CS, child TS, child CS, snack credits and OOP cash - 6 pools for food. In the DxDDP you track meal credits, snack credits and (potentially minimal) OOP cash - 3 pools food; from which you don't have to bother to decide so much - just use your credits whenever you can. You have less of an opportunity to make the wrong decision on the DxDDP.
