What exactly is turn down service? And why do I feel silly for not knowing what it is? lol

The maids come in and turn your bed covers down and plump up your pillows. They also lay out the bathrobes, turn the lights down and put on music. A little gift or treat is often left on your pillow.

Don't feel silly to ask any question here! Turn down service is when housekeeping turns down your bed comforter/sheets and leaves a tasty chocolate mint on your fluffed up pillow. I'm not sure if providing fresh towels and filling the ice bucket is also a part of turn down service or just a part of club level services as we usually stay club. Someone else can correct me if I am wrong. The lights are dimmed and sometimes soft music is playing when you return to your room. Would I voluntarily pay extra for the service? No - but it sure makes our rooms feel even more inviting when we return to them at night!

At PBH, they now leave little Fiji waters instead of mints.

Thanks everyone! I was just curious cause I remembered when I was updating my You First info it asked if I wanted it. So, maybe its included with being a memeber? Not a big deal either way.

This is what they done at RPR last July as well, the year previous, they always left different gifts.

Is this offered as standard at club level or do you have to request it?

Turn down service is standard at club level.

Hi Andy.

Turn down service is supposed to be automatic on club and if in a suite. I find that to be very hit or miss.

We like to have the front desk note what time we want turn down service every night. Then we usually have to call. Every night.

I really like the bottles of Fiji Water they bring.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm just staying in standard room (hoping to get an upgrade with my blue level, but not counting on it), so I guess I don't get turndown, which is ok, I just keep hearing about it and didn't know. I can't wait for my trip!

Andy, if you want Turn-down, just request it (via Star Service). You can get it in a standard room; it's just not automatic. :thumbsup2

Ooh! Nifty! Thanks, Jodie! I prolly won't get it very often though. Maybe on the night I arrive and the night of my birthday.

If you don't want turn down service, the cleaning staff will just give you your water if you ask. They are a great size for taking to the parks.
