OK...I'm slowly but surely starting my TR. I really want to wait until I get the Photopass CD pics but I can do the beginning without that.
If case you haven't read my PTR or my previous TR...I should introduce myself.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/KMickey.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Rest%20of%20DHS/DHS2.jpg
 I'm Kristine. I'm 32 years old. I'm a mommy and a social worker from Boston. I am also married to a man who humors me and has gone to Disney yearly for the past 5 years. :woohoo:
If you would like to know more about my family and our Disney Adventures, check out my other reports
The Smith's YES we are going to Disney AGAIN PTR! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1871410)
Does the Pixie Dust Count if You Don't KNOW about it? (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1960215)
Santa Got me A DISboarder Weekend to the Mouse! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2028861)
What is different about this trip is that I went to Disney SOLO (that's right...no hubby or DD this time!). But I did not stay solo when I got there. I was lucky enough to meet up with 12 other of the infamous Disboutiquers (plus some fab kiddos). If you don't know who we are- check out the Disney for Families Board. I really don't recall who came up with the amazing plan for us all to meet up in February but whoever did was a genius!
My original plan was to go with my DH's cousin but she was unable to go. I then contemplated going solo completely but the practical side of me said- save your money, this is silly. Then the impractical side of me (DH ;) :rotfl2: ) said: how about I buy you the trip as a Christmas/Birthday gift. Um okay!!!
So I went to Disney on Santa's dime :santa:; without knowing a soul IRL!
I started planning this trip the moment I got back from my Sept. 2008 trip. By October, the AP rates had come out for February. A fellow Disboutiquer (SoHappy aka Stacy) and I decided to share a room so on Halloween, while handing out candy, I booked an AP rate preferred room at POP for the bargain price of $64/night.
Then it was on to ADRs. Stacy and I made a generalized park plan and decided where we were going to eat. I was particularly excited about this because I had never eaten at any of the restaurants we picked
In general, this "new" thing was a theme for this trip- new friends, new adventures, new restaurants, my first AP!!! If you haven't read my prior reports, you know that a huge pet peeve to me is people who say "you are going to Disney AGAIN" My response is always that there is always something new to do...which people tend not to believe. So I will be pointing out on this TR all the new things I did (and there is something every day...I assure you!)

Day number one started off just grand. I had to be up at 3am to get ready and leave for my flight. Since my DH works nights, I was so paranoid about not waking up (despite setting two alarms). And clearly I was “too excited to sleep” so I didn’t. At 2am I was still wide awake, so I ended up watching a lot of junk on tv and got up at 3am. I hopped in the shower, brewed a cup of coffee on my Keurig, and took off.
I drove up at Manchester airport and of no surprise, made it there quickly. (Not too many folks out at 4am in Southern NH). I parked my car and really lucked out that the little van was coming to the stop just as a I was getting out of my car. So I only had to wait a second in the freezing cold with my bags. :thumbsup2
I had checked in online for my flight so I dropped off my suitcase and was off to security. On the way there, I ran into a friend of mine who is a NH state trooper. We chatted for awhile and then I made my way through security
And of course, as always when I fly alone, I got picked for the extra security. Seriously, was it my Snow White sweatshirt that gave me away as a threat? :confused3 But I got the lovely pat down and was on my way. While I was being pat down, the TSA agent told me that I was picked because I had baggy clothes on. I was wearing yoga pants, a long sleeved tshirt, and a hoodie. Not really baggy. But then it got me thinking- do some people wear skin tight clothes to fly? :confused3 I’m still convinced that they picked on me because my friend was a state trooper!
After security, I got a tea from Dunkins and sat down to enjoy my book until boarding. Since I flew SW, I had to deal with that “line up by number” thing. Still amazes me that grown individuals have such trouble with this!!! ;)
I got on the plane and was able to get a coveted window seat (I wanted to be able to lean against the window when I took my nap). I was joined by a mother and her son going to Disney. The boy was very excited about the trip so we chatted for awhile. He lamented that he was unable to get a window seat. Of course I felt bad so I gave up my seat to him. BUT not before I got some pics of the sunrise
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Sunrise1.jpg

The flight was great and by 8:30am I was in Disney (that’s right…a whole ½ hour before rope drop!!!) . As soon as I got off the plane, I was greeted by the insane number of cheerleaders. They were EVERYWHERE. :scared1: And they were loud…And they were cheering at 8:30am! So now I’m a little annoyed. My annoyance got worse when I got to EarPort and found out that all the information online saying that they sell APs is false. No APs to be had. Even more annoyed, I headed to ME. I saw a large cheerleading group heading there so I practically ran there so I didn’t have to be behind them in line. It worked. AND there was a bus waiting when I got there so I immediately got on the bus. OK my bad mood was making a turn around. Nothing was going to be able to ruin this day…or was it??? :scared1:

Poor Kristine with the extra pat down! I remember I got singled out once when Megan was a baby. Yes, the lady with a baby is quite a security threat! First, they took away Megan's baby and made it go through x-ray (that went as well as you would think) and then they made me hand her off to Tom so they could pat me down. Ugh!
Hey, I think your trip gets better cause you meet me, right?

When I was all settled on ME, I finally turned on my cell phone. There was a bunch of missed calls/texts from Stacy. This was not good. Turns out that Stacy had missed her flight. So she was now getting in 5-6 hours after she was supposed to and was flying from Arkansas to Chicago to Orlando
Oh no!!! First and foremost, I felt bad to Stacy. She was going to miss almost all of our first day. Then I started wondering what I was going to do all day by myself. And what was going to become of our 5:30pm ADR at Sci-Fi. We certainly weren’t going to make it.
I called Stacy and I felt really bad. She was upset (although I do have to say…far more composed than I would have been for missing a flight). She offered to call Disney Dining to see what could be done about our ADR. Stacy called back letting me know that they were able to change it til 7:30pm. That means we would miss Fantasmic but that’s ok.
So minus being alone all day, things were looking up again!
The ME drive was fast. I did note as we were driving, you know you’ve been to Orlando too many times when you start recognizing specific houses. One, for instance, had put a new screened in 3 season room on the back of their house…I remember that their last one was apparently ruined during on the hurricanes and needed repair. Yup, I’ve officially been to Disney THAT many times!
I was at POP by 9:15am! I immediately hopped of the bus and headed over to baggage services to have them hold my carryon bag. Then I headed over to the DTD bus. Since I couldn’t pick up my AP at EarPort but I needed it for check in (or so I thought at the time), I headed to DTD since I knew I could get one there at guest services.
I should also note that it was 38 degrees out at this point. That’s right…38!!! I had fallen asleep on the plane and was scared that we flipped around and went back to Boston when they announced the temp. So the wait for the DTD bus (which was way longer than 20 minutes) was COLD!!!! I still had my long-sleeved tshirt, hoodie, and a puffy vest over it…and I was chilly.
And thus begins my list of “new” things!
First new thing: wearing a coat at Disney
2nd new thing: going to DTD straightaway on the first day. DTD is always a last day activity for my family so this was slightly strange.
We got to DTD and I was pleased that most of the shops were open. I checked out World of Disney and bought a little present as a pick-me-up for Stacy when she got there.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/WorldofDisStore.jpg
Did they always have this coach of WOD???
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/WODstore2.jpg
I then went off to find Guest Relations. They moved it….it’s now under this sign!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/PIsign.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/GuestRelations.jpg
I very quickly got my AP and headed to walk back around DTD. I took some pics along the way
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/JamesJoyce.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/carousel.jpg
I stopped in the Lego Store to do the Make-your-own-lego-guys thing for Stacy’s sons. I made 6 men (2 lanyards) and then decided that it was time for breakfast. Now if you are a woman, on your own, at DTD, with NOBODY to see you eating something you shouldn’t…where would you have “breakfast”
That’s right!!!! :rotfl:
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Goofys.jpg
I got candy covered pretzels. I was able to eat one! I had gone to the dentist the day before my trip and seriously, the sweetness HURT my teeth. Sadly, I left the box in my carryon bag for the rest of the trip and forgot about them so I had to toss the other two.
I took some pics while I was waiting. I had a nice CM was from Worcester, MA waiting on me.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/goofys3.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/goofys2.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Goofys4.jpg
I even took a pic of the new napkins. It thrills me that Disney even changes the cups/napkins for each of their promotions.
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/newnapkins.jpg
At this point, I was pretty bored with DTD so I decided to head back to POP and check-in. It was only about 10:30am at this point! But I was hoping (praying) that maybe my room was ready so I could freshen up!
I took some more pics while I was waiting…including a light fixture for LL
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/DTDfan.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/PopBus.jpg
I had the bus to myself
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Empytbus.jpg
I got back to Pop, picked up my carryon from baggage services and headed inside to check in…this is what I saw
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/checkin1.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/checkin2.jpg
Seriously, aren’t we in a HUGE recession??? :confused3 By the looks of this line…you couldn’t tell it! It took about a ½ hour to check in (yet another first!). BUT, my room was ready!!!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/roomsign.jpg
We were in the 60s, front of the “Playdoh” building, on the corner…it was a great room location. Here is some pics from the balcony in front of my room
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/roomview.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/playdoh.jpg
When I was finished taking pics, I headed into the room to freshen up. I was soooo tempted to lay down and take a little nap but I was at Disney…and I only had 3 full days…there was no time to waste!!!
SOOOOO what did I do???? :confused3 (Stay Tuned!)

I am interested to see what you did with the rest of your day. I can't believe you didn't take a nap either, I think I would have. :rotfl:

Well the saddest part about her missing her flight is that she was AT the airport on time (ORIGINALLY anyway ;) ) She got to the airport and released she forgot her travel documents and her ME tickets. She didn't think that she could have just picked up her bags at baggage claim and take them on the bus with her. Oh well. Makes for a fun start to my TR!

:welcome: Thanks for reading! You definately should get a sewing machine. I'm not really that good at sewing yet (because I don't practice nearly as much as the other Disboutiquers) but my DD loves that she has special "Mommy made" things now.

;) LOL..awwww....! I am a total photo freak and took literally THOUSANDS of pictures on our last trip, and that is not even counting the photopass ones. Hahaha....! It would be very hard for me to go to WDW and only take a few pics. Though it would be nice to not have to carry a big ole' camera around with me. Hahaha

Of course I did not nap! I was in Disney! I was in Disney alone…but I was in Disney! So I changed my clothes (it had warmed up slightly but I still needed jeans and a hoodie) and headed to DHS. The lines at the POP bus stop were crazy. I couldn’t believe it. All the lines were completely full and this was now a couple of hours after park openings. While in line, I called my family to say Hi. Everything was going well at home.
So I headed to DHS to break in that new AP. (YET ANOTHER NEW THING FOR TODAY) When I arrived, I quickly made it through the checkpoint and was immediately greeted by a CM. I thought it was one of those survey people (hard to tell since every CM was covered up with a heavy winter coat…they even have themed coats!!!!) But it wasn’t a survey CMs, it was a American Idol Experience CM. She asked me if I would like to audition for AI today. Um nope. She was persistent. “You only have to perform for 5 minutes a cappella” Now I was laughing. I informed her that nobody wants to hear me sing for 5 minutes! She told me to come check out the show later in that day then. I thanked her and was on my way.
First stop was for some Photopass Pics. ALONE!!! (are you keeping track of all my new experiences???) I’ll be posting those later. Then I headed to Toy Story Mania. Stacy and I had come up with a plan since she was running so late that I would get 1 fastpass and when the time expired I would go get another and then we would have 2 for when she arrived.
But that plan did NOT work out. I have not mentioned that besides the cheerleaders, there were large groups of Brazilian and Argentinian school girls EVERYWHERE. Now I had read on the boards about the groups but have never been “lucky” enough to run into them. I now know that their sole purpose is to take up all the FPs so that 200 of them can ride together at any given time. So when I arrived at TSM barely 2 hours after the park opened, all the FPs for the day were GONE. So annoying. The wait time was 70 minutes at that point so I decided to skip it.
I checked the show schedule and saw that Beauty and the Beast was about to start so I headed over there. I should warn you that since I was without my child to chase after, I had plenty of time to take pics. I took over a 100 of Beauty and the Beast. I won’t bore you with all of them. But I will bore you with 25 of them!!!

It's a Canon Rebel Xt. I love it. Hence the insane amount of pics I take. I filled 3 memory cards during our 9 day trip in Sept. I have 477 pics left over after all the ones I deleted from this trip!

Since I had so much time to waste I wandered around the entire park. I went to the StarTours store to see if they had Princess Leia Polly Pocket type toys that the Diamond clan found on their trip but alas, I couldn’t find them.
So I went back to Pixar Place to check the TSM situation. Yup 90 minutes now. So not waiting 1 ½ hours for that ride…even if I did have time to kill. So I continued to wander back up to the Chinese Theatre for the Movie Ride.
Yet again I took a lot of pics that I will now bore you with. I will warn you. There are a lot of light fixtures/lamp pics. Those are a particular favor for a fellow DISer who just loves how Disney carries the theming into the lights.

I didn’t take a pic of the kiss at the end because it annoys me. Why don’t Ariel and Eric really kiss? I mean I guess maybe they don’t like each other but that’s why it’s called acting. All the other princes and princesses kiss. And this is really obvious that they are pretending to kiss. Who can I call at Disney about this??? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Hey, hey, I did take some pictures. . . and I carried that big camera around all weekend. . .you just had cute lens bags and seemed smarter about it than I did. I am smart enough to know when I am not the smart one! Plus, every.single.time I tried to use my camera, someone else stuck their big head or their camera in front of it. So really, there was no use in me trying to take pics, right?
I figured I could just comment here, since our report would be pretty much the same thing, just different perspective (like, I am awake in bed, trying not to be loud, and you are thinking, "does this girl ever sleep")

Loving your TR and all your photos!
Sorry you got picked for extra searching. I flew out of Manchester once and my DS (4 1/2 at the time) got picked for extra searching. Thankfully we had picked a different line than the friends we were traveling with because he had a leatherman in his carryon. They just asked me who Joseph was and when I pointed to DS they just looked at him and said you're all set.
brewed a cup of coffee on my Keurig
I have to ask do you like your Keurig? I've tried a couple of other single cup brewers and they never made my coffee hot enough. I saw that BJ's has a special on the Keurig that seems like a pretty good deal.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my Keurig. It makes the coffee plenty hot (without burning it- which is what happens with most full pot coffee makers) but I will say that if you keep it in a mug, it does get cold quicker. So you either need to drink it right away (I'm famous for starting a cup, putting it down, and then going back and finding in 20 minutes later) OR you need to put it in a travel mug. It stays really warm in that. That's what I do for work and I could drink it all morning and it would still be warm. What I love is getting to try different flavors. We get our Kcups at Gloria Jeans. You can buy a box or pick and chose a bag of different flavors. Did I mention that I love it? Although I'm really adding to my caffeine addiction!

You're so sweet to give up your seat to that little boy. You're such a kid person!
Good move on beating those cheerleaders to the ME!
:rotfl: I SO would have eaten breakfast there, too!
We were in the SAME building as you, but on the back side of it. Room 4116!
Wait just a minute!! I think you might have been at the same Beauty and the Beast show as we were! Tessa was picked to be the "princess of the show" and the Beast gave her a rose at the end (after he had turned back into a prince). She was wearing her Jessie costume.
We also arrived 2 hours after park opening to see the cheerleaders had taken all the fastpasses and the line was 70 minutes. Poor Sawyer didn't get to ride Toy Story Mania (and he had really looked forward to it).
You should have called us! We would have loved to hang out with you!
This was the first time I had a gangster take over the Great Movie Ride. We always get the cowboy.

We were right behind a group of the Braziliians as we were about to board Expedition Everest. I kept thinking.... please don't let me be on the same train as them! I guess I thought out loud and another lady said, "yeah. me too!" They kept yelling and reaching their arms outside of the train. Ooh ya, sorry that I forget to address this. These pics were taken with no flash with my 50 MM lens and I set the ISO to 1600. I did the same for all the dark ride pics. Fireworks pics (coming up) were taken with 50 MM lens, no flash, but I lowered the ISO to get the trail of the fireworks. AK pics were taken with my 300mm lens and most of the others with the kit lens that came with the camera.

I think I need to start playing with my ISO. I am a photo newbie, I was so use to having someone set it for me... I am number challenged, but creatively ruled!

Jumping in here...
Okay...have no cocept of the whole security thing...never been on a plane...but that would be me getting serched...heck I got searched going in the hospital a few weeks ago!
Time alone would be both fun and strange...somtimes I read the reports of people being alone and I think how much fun...but then I also think whoo do you say "Hey Look at that!" to?
I also love you pictures! I'm a real P&S girl because I am lazy!:lmao: I may have to change my mind with this next camera because your pics are great!

But I am back and caught up!! I adore the light photos. I am just starting to experiment with my camera settings. My dad has been giving me pointers so I hope to capture even better ride pictures without the flash. :thumbsup2

I just found your TR and am having a great time reading it! I went solo for 4 days in Dec 08 (my daughter, bf & baby joined me the last 4 days) and I had fun being alone taking in rides and shows I knew she & her bf wouldn't want to do.
It seems having several hours to just take your time and explore HS would be so relaxing but then if you felt like I did, did it seem like a looonnng time? Esp when you are anxiously awaiting Stacy's arrival? Great pics :thumbsup2

You should be. Some of the rides are particularly tricky (HM and POTC come to mind) because they are REALLY dark and there just isn't enough light to catch a shot. Try to get a seat on the edge so you can perch the camera on the edge of the boat to stabilize it.

I will try that. I figure being solo that if I really want to ride again if my pictures don't come out that I can do that. I thinking being able to take my time with pictures is the thing I am most excited about in my solo trip. :goodvibes

I filled 3 memory cards during our 9 day trip in Sept. I have 477 pics left over after all the ones I deleted from this trip!
You must be a kindered spirit to my DH!! Our last trip, we came home with close to 1500 pictures (not including photopass)....he is totaly in love with the quick burst setting on his camera:lmao: (he is a very good picture taker though)
I on the otherhand, hate having to carry around the big camera so I asked for my own "purse size" one for Christmas....it has more little do-hickeys and whats-that for settings than I expected! So keep letting us know what settings and lenses ect. you use. Your pictures are great and I am getting an education too!!:rotfl:

Ooh ya, sorry that I forget to address this. These pics were taken with no flash with my 50 MM lens and I set the ISO to 1600. I did the same for all the dark ride pics. Fireworks pics (coming up) were taken with 50 MM lens, no flash, but I lowered the ISO to get the trail of the fireworks. AK pics were taken with my 300mm lens and most of the others with the kit lens that came with the camera.
Thanks for the info!! I'm usually too lazy to fiddle with my camera settings. Plus, I'm always wanting to take a picture really quick while my kids are doing something cute. I'm ashamed to admit that I only carried my big camera with me for one day. Then, I switched to my little camera because I was too lazy to carry the big camera around. Now that I see the pictures, I really wish I would have used my good camera more!

I stink on Buzz too. I was teasing my DD before our trip that I was going to beat her on Toy Story Mania. I did beat her in August but she was pretty close to me. I am embarrassed but proud to say that I did beat her on this trip. I just didn't have it in me to let her win. She'll probably beat me on her next trip.

So where were we. Oh ya, I was still wandering around DHS. I decided at this point that it would be a good time for lunch. Odd thing about DHS though. Because I don’t care for this park much…we rarely eat here. I’ve eaten at Pizza Planet and Mama Melrose’s only.
So I went with what I knew and went to Pizza Planet. WRONG CHOICE. I got into line. It was long but didn’t look too bad. AGAIN WRONG! I was in back of a group from Argentina…who I truly believe were stealing pizzas. They kept getting trays, passing them to the person in the back of the group and then saying that they didn’t get everything. The CMs were not good about counting everything so they were getting really confused. It ended up taking me 40 minutes to get my lunch. 40 MINUTES! Needless to say, I wolfed down that veggie pizza and diet coke by the time I got it. 40 minutes to get it…30 seconds to eat it!
After that, I walked around again and discovered this:
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Rest%20of%20DHS/748198844705_0_ALB.jpg
Wait a minute…I’m a passholder now! So I flashed my AP and went into this
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Rest%20of%20DHS/704898844705_0_ALB.jpg
It was so much fun. If you have a chance, definitely check in out. The three singers we had during our competition were amazing…so amazing that I couldn’t pick one. Basically you get to vote for a singer from a control in your seat. The winner goes onto that days’ finals and the winner of the finals’ gets a “golden ticket” to a REAL Idol audition. Luckily the two seats next to me were empty so I voted for all 3 (each on one seat!). Disney outdid themselves with this one. You would SWEAR that you were on the real idol set. Alas no pictures. Because it was a soft opening preview, we weren’t allowed to take any pictures.
After that I wandered around some more taking pictures

I wandered in and out of all the stores when FINALLY my cell phone rang about 5:45pm. It was Stacy…she was finally at DHS. I ran down the street and hugged her like she was my long lost twin. Poor Stacy probably thought I was some kind of nut. You have to understand. I come from a big loud Irish family. You meet my family…you are getting hugged. Probably kissed. Just how we are. So didn’t think twice about hugging Stacy.
We immediately decided to try a ride before dinner. We head over to RnR and ToT. The line was insane for both of them. We decided to go single rider on RnR. While waiting in the line we were in back of a VERY annoying Floridian teenager who spent the entire wait dispensing her vast Disney knowledge to us. And some of it was completely wrong!
However, she was NOTHING compared to the school girls from Argentina. OH MY GOD. First of all, there were literally about a 100 of them in the fastpass line. 2nd of all, they were cheering LOUDLY…with moves. But they were apparently from competing schools because one group would yell one thing and the next would yell something back. This went on for the ENTIRE ride wait. People in between the two groups actually start booing. So now we are in line, with annoying Florida chick in front of us, Argentinian girls SCREAMING cheers, and American tourist booing all at once. It made Aerosmith seem quiet!
Bonus though: Despite being single rider- they let Stacy and I ride together. YAY! Now you must be thinking “Kristine you have been waiting all day for Stacy…you must have IMMEDIATELY photographed her” Um nope…never took a single picture of her that night!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Rest%20of%20DHS/427398844705_0_ALB.jpg
But I did take a picture of her food! After RnR we headed over to Sci-Fi to see if we could be seated early. They ended up seating us ½ hour before our ADR time. (YAY again!). They had changed the menu that was online and as odd as it sounds, Stacy and I had both been looking forward to having burgers. But fear not, this is Disney…they accommodate. We got our burgers. We also got the new “Celebration” themed drink “Magical Star” (I also got a cherry coke…which is included on the DDP in case anyone was wondering)
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Rest%20of%20DHS/179988844705_0_ALB.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/Rest%20of%20DHS/523578844705_0_ALB.jpg
I didn’t take pics of our burgers because they are burgers. But I did take pics of our desserts. Stacy and I originally both ordered the peanut butter fudge cake…until I heard the waitress at the table next to us describing all the desserts and mentioned that the PB fudge cake had candied nuts on the top. Odd fact about me: I have a nut allergy….EXCEPT for peanuts. Weird right? So I couldn’t get the cake. When I told our waiter…he ran back to the kitchen to find out what was in all the desserts. I didn’t ask him to do it. He just did. LOVE DISNEY CUSTOMER SERVICE! He came back and told me that I could have the new “Celebration” themed dessert. So I did

If you are wondering if that is a piece of cheesecake with caramel drizzle, with popcorn and M&Ms, and a white chocolate picture of a castle stuck in top…you’d be right. It was a little slice of heaven.
Here is Stacy’s cake (sorry pic is blurry)

There was a rather nice waiter (not ours) who admired my camera and gave me some picture suggestions. He would yell from other tables when Walt was going to pop up on the screen. Thank you mystery waiter.

After that, we headed back to Pop. It was cold. VERY COLD. You could see your breath. And yet, there were kids in the pools. Nothing like pneumonia on vacation Stacy was really nervous heading upstairs because of her missed flight…she didn’t know if her luggage would arrive right. But no fears, it did. We unpacked and traded presents and headed off to bed. I slept (I had been up since 7am on Thursday and this was 10pm Friday. I was tired). Stacy stayed up doing something. All I know if that I kept waking up and she was still awake.
So do you think that we made it to my FIRST EVER rope drop in the morning????

Yay! I made it!!! I was so excited to meet Kristine. After spending countless hours talking on the phone, email, text, PMs, etc. You didn't put the part in where we were standing just a few yards away from each other talking on the phone "Where are you" "I'm in the park" "me too" "where in the park" "ummm the entrance area" "oh, I am on the main street" "where on the main street" "near a camera shop" "me too. . .ohhh, there you are!"
And I was not put off by the hug, I am from the south, everyone hugs here. I didn't know what I should do meeting new people- whether they would be put off by it or not. . .
and when we left sci-fi, it was TOTALLY empty. It took us 5-10 minutes to find a CM anywhere, and even then, it was in the distance. sooooo creepy

OOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I'm tellin Mom you were trip report writing instead of studying:p
Hahaha...J/k.....glad your partner in crime finally arrived...or so we think....afterall there is no pics of her yet. Those light up drinks looked loverly...and I can't believe the park was empty. My DD10 liked the part about Kingdom Keepers. She loved those books. Well there's only two....I am babbling cause I'm half asleep. This won't make any sense tomorrow. But glad you guys had a good first night.
Stacey - sorry about your missed flight but glad you finally made it! So how was dinner? Did you ever sleep? :confused3

Dinner was sooooo good. I had starbucks for breakfast that morning then nothing else until 7 that night! I was starving!!! It was really, really good though.
Kristine makes fun of me because I don't sleep much. I was usually awake when she went to bed and woke up long before the alarm clock each morning. I tried to be all stealthy the first morning and realized that I am anything but stealthy!
I just don't sleep much. I have too much to do to sleep.

I am reading all of the Boutiquers trip reports since I follow the Boutiquer thread and have started helping with the big gives (iron-ons only) so I sort of feel like I "know" you guys in a cyberspace sort of way.
Yours is only the 2nd one I have posted on because I am a fellow Canon Rebel addict and drag mine all over Disney! I love my camera! I usually take over 1000 photos every trip. I don't do much lens switching (I bought a pretty good all-purpose lens) nor do I mess with the settings very often but I still get pretty good night shots. We need a club or something! Now if you scrapbook your trips too we definitely need a club.
Looking forward to more great photos and TR!

:welcome: over to my report!
Don't you LOVE that camera. It thrills me so much. I often think about what my poor DD is going to do 50 years from now when she inherits the crazy amount of pictures that I've taken.
What lens do you use for your walk-around. I can't find one that I'm happy enough with to leave on all the time.

Thanks for the welcome! I bought a Canon Ultrasonic 28-105mm lens on amazon for a great price. I have been really happy with it.
I had a feeling you were a scrapbook addict too. When you combine my photo addiction with my scrapbook addiction you get 8 albums and counting for one Disney trip! :rotfl:
I just noticed in your siggy that it looks like we both have one dd about the same age too - mine is 5 and will be 6 in September.

I have always done "real" scrapbooking BUT I now have an insane amount of stuff to try digital scrapbooking. I was so intrigued by Stacy's awesome layouts on her last TR with her boys. I had to order a 500 GB external hard drive so I can save everything without taking up all my laptop memory. I will post some pages when I actually learn what I'm doing!
Please don't tell me that you have a Cricut sitting around in a box!

Yup...I have an October baby so they are the same age.
I think the camera/picture/scrapbook addiction goes hand and hand. I'm so excited to try digital so I can enlarge/shrink pics without having to cut them up.

Oh please! It is TOTALLY out of the box! Sitting right here next to me, buried in paper because I NEVER use it!
I ordered the CDS and Paper dolls cartridge and another, I think xmas but never got it (same lady Tom and Shannon ordered from). I eventually got my money back and just never reordered. I only have 1 cartridge, I am not in love with the disney one so thought I would just buy the sure cuts a lot program. Then I decided I should save some money!
I have tons of scrapbook stuff, paper, albums and stuff! but never do anything with it! There is a lady on ebay that I love and buy alot of her stuff, but again, sitting in a drawer. I need a table that I can lay the stuff out on and leave it and I just can't find the space. I use ever table I find and pile it with stuff!

My original theory was that I was saving money. I was really only buying about 30 total (so about $100). Much cheaper then a sizzix (this was before cricut) and all that I would want. Well, turns out that I don't think it worked out that way. I need to order a few more, mainly I am missing most of her US ones. She doesn't have alot listed right now, some of the better ones I don't see. BUT now I can't decide how to do my albums, which is my issue. I don't want to mix her stuff with other stuff because mine won't be as good!
Hmm, I got a great idea! How about we have a scrap meet at my house this summer, bring all the kiddos and they can play, you guys can help me scrap and do a little of your own! And then we can swim once were done! Sounds like a deal to me! I'll be like Jeanne and you can stay in my basement (minus I don't have a super cool kitchen, or castle or stage or well, most of her super cool things).
We were at the disney outlet and Lin picked up a disney scrapbook album that was christmas 12x12 and I knew my friends would have liked them too! I almost picked up a couple of extras. Darn me! We did get us one, I think that makes, oh, 10 or books I have.

No what you need is a scrapbooking store that has a crop room. This is the place that I go to:
http://www.thescrapbookersdream.net/
Check out the fab crop room. Sat crops are 12-12 (with all meals included). If I tried to scrap at home, I would never get anything accomplished.

I have to toally agree with you on two things
(1) Are we really in a recession with so many people at Disney????? LOL!!!!! I was there last week and I couldn't belive all the people there considering the economic times we arefacing. I personally thing President Obama should go to Disney and see what the people he are trying to help are spending there money on. LOL
(2) You know you've been going to disney too many times when you reconize houses. MY family is so good at this. LOL. We always pick out the same houses, stores, gas stations, etc.
Great T.R. can't wait to read more. You first rope drop, must have been exciting:thumbsup2 I actually just went to my first rope drop on my 12th trip, my family were always late risers and never went to parks in the mornings, but this year we actually got up and went early. It paid off!!!!! But you'll have to read my TR for that story, but I haven't gotten to that part yet!!!!!!!

OOOOH an Archivers??? I've always wanted to go to one. We don't have one remotely close to here. All our scrapbooking places are little mom/pop type places.
I have a rolling bag (for scrapbook supplies) that has all my tools in it. I have a plastic box that carries the pages that I'm currently working on. She has a Cricut there so I big things like that you wouldn't need to bring with you. Plus there is a store attached so if you forget something/ need something, you run a tab all day and pay it when you leave.

Scrapbooking weekend/week, I am in! I will even bring Jackson and Cooper- though you might rethink that! They are crazy little things! I just do digi scrap though (already told you this). Of course we made it to rope drop…I was rooming with Stacy (the woman who never sleeps ;) :rotfl2: ). We had set two alarms the night before to make sure that we got up in enough time to get two women ready and still make it to rope drop. However, a full hour and 15 minutes before the alarm went off, Miss Stacy was bouncing out of bed with excitement. In fairness to her…she tried to be quiet. :rolleyes1
So she headed into the shower to get ready while lazy Kristine continued to lay in bed and watch the news (we had gotten our clothes out and park bags packed the night before so there wasn’t much to do). The two of us finished making ourselves beautiful for the day and headed out. Stacy ran downstairs while I was in shower to pick up some things.
Since we were up early and prepared from the night before, we were at the bus stop well in advance of our “no later than 8:15am plan” Needless to say, we were at MK by like 20 past 8 so we had a small wait. popcorn::
It was freezing out AGAIN so thank goodness we had the hoodies that Stacy had appliquéd for us.

I really, really tried to be quiet. I stay in bed like 30 minutes, then I really, really had to potty. I thought I was being quiet until I banged my knee into the toilet paper holder- and you laughed at me!
I had a lot of fun going with the flow. We did pretty much everything we wanted to- other than toy story (which I did twice on Monday).
Glad to hear that everything went well. Hope next week is a lot easier emotionally.

Okay we so did NOT go on the People Mover First. We went on Space Moutain…before there was anyone in line. We walked on-which was fabulous. Part of our game plan was to get the Mountain Trifecta finished quickly before the lines were too bad. But we also figured that we should finish an area before moving on to the next. Because we didn’t have any kiddos with us, we didn’t need to rush to Fantasyland so that was a bonus of this plan.
Next up was Buzz Lightyear. We walked onto that too. So far so good! I normally really and truly STINK at Buzz. (I would say a stronger but this is a family friend board!). I can never tell where my laser is pointing so I just shoot at anything. I had just finished explaining this to Stacy when the guns were activated. My score immediately jumped up to 300,000 something!!! WHAT??? This never happens. I truly don’t know what I hit (Jessica’s husband Lin later explained to me that I hit something in the back in the first room). I didn’t hit too much else during the rest of the game. But I still beat Stacy and got my personal best score by a lot. I was so excited!!!

After Buzz , we did the Laugh Floor. I still find this show amusing but I think I have now seen all of the storyline options. It’s okay…I still giggled enough that the doors opened. Problem was that the schoolgirls from Argentina had no descended on the MK and were joining us for the show. Ya, they didn’t get it. So it was less funny than it could have been.
At this point we were getting ready of Breakfast. We had previously decided to go to Main St Bakery after I had read on other people’s TRs that you could use CS credits there for breakfast. It was packed in there. We were in line for awhile to get our food. I got the ham/egg/cheese croissant and some tea. Stacy got some kind of breakfast pastry. When we got to cash register they told us that we had to get a “snack” too. Since we weren’t going back through the line to get something that would count as a snack, we had to get one of the two options at the cash register: banana or Doritos. Stacy being the good one got the banana. I got the Doritos…goes much better with a sandwich than bananas.
While at breakfast, we saw our first custom (stripework jumper). There was really a huge lack of customs on this trip. This will come apparent later on in the day.
After breakfast, we fought our way over to Adventureland. I was in the mood for a little face time with Capt. Jack. Luckily there wasn’t that long of a line for Pirates. Longer than I had ever waited but we moved quickly

When we got out of Pirates, we decided to head over to the other two mountains before it got any later in the day. We timed it perfectly…how I’m not sure. For some reason, all the big groups had left BTMRR so we only had about a 5 minute wait for that. I’ve always wanted to get pictures of the train going on the Mountains but I’m a complete klutz and I’m so afraid that I would let go of my camera. BUT we got the front seat so I did it anyway…can’t let my readers down with no pictures!

After that, it had warmed up enough that we could remove our hoodies, we decided that we would brave Splash Mountain….despite warnings
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/AdvenFrontier/530839844705_0_ALB.jpg
We stuffed our hoodies inside our Bagallinnis and were on our way. The line wasn’t too bad here either. I think we went opposite of the big groups because as we were walking from BTMRR to SM, the line for BTMRR went from a 5 minute wait to a 40 minute wait…and that might have been generous. The line was all the way back to the FP machines.

We got off Splash and wandered down the path to the Riverboat. I’ve never ridden the Riverboat…well I might have when I was a kid but I don’t remember. It was loading so we decided to go for a ride. Overall it was nice little break. Stacy actually took out her camera at this point so I decided to let her take most of the pictures. I did catch castle though.

That’s right…all the way back to Columbia Harbour House. In our plan to have no plans, we quickly decided to skip HM and save it until it was dark. Cooler than anyway. Instead we headed over to Fantasyland to check out the situation over there.

Do you see them in their matching shirts and backpacks??? It was crazy. The really concerning part was that there didn't appear to be any chaperones. So those parents sent these kids off to a foreign country where they minimally spoke the language and left them unsupervised? That's NUTS! :scared1:

I'm so excited too!!! Mostly because it's a surprise. I really hope I can pull it off. Little concerned how I'm going to make and try on outfits without her noticing ;) We'll figure it out!
I had to end up doing the 2 ressie thing. One with a AAA discount and one with the 40% off pin. If a passholder discount comes out, I'll combine them into one ressie and be able to get the DDP. If not, we'll have to pay for food OOP :scared1:

They noted on the ressie that we have 2 ressies and want to stay in the same room but it's not guaranteed. The CM also suggested that I beg at check in. ;)
I'm still praying for the AP discount. It would just make life easier. I think I have to go and "check-in" again on day 3 the way it is which is again a PAIN. I'm not as concerned about paying for the dining OOP as much as I am about the convenience of just using DDP..so much easier. Now I have a LOT of time to plan out my ADRs!!

Sally will be for MNSSHP...which I'm really hoping is Sunday (it's been on that Sunday for the past couple of years so I would say it's a good shot)
I'm trying to decided what to make for Friday. I plan to pick her up at school and surprise her and then have her change. Snow White will be her Bday/BBB outfit. I'm thinking 1900 PF for dinner on her bday so Cindy will be getting recycled. I'm thinking that since we are going to be park hopping...she will be wearing at least two outfits a day!

I love those sweatshirts that Stacy made!
Wow, to be there at rope drop and not run to Dumbo. I can't imagine!
You got me! My jaw dropped open in shock when I read that you did the people mover first! :rotfl:
I didn't know there were different story options on the laugh floor. I thought they were all the same!
I would have got the Doritos, too! When I was a kid, I had a Doritos sleeping bag.
Wow!! Your Thunder Mountain pictures are AWESOME!!! I should have just stole them from you instead of some random website for my TR!
We missed Splash Mountain this time around. Too stinkin' cold! Did you get very wet?
Wow, that line for HM- it's FEBRUARY!! It's a 2 star day!!! What is up with the crowds??
Great news on your return trip in October!! I'm trying to work on Henry to get him to agree to a Disneyland trip in October. So far, no luck. He says I can take the kids by myself if I want to. :sad2:

Finally, vindication that the park WAS crowded!!! :rotfl:
See it's all a matter of perception. You are used to crowds. I am clearly not. But it was really crowded for value season and a poor economy.
This was around lunch time I'm not sure exactly.

Glad to have back up on my Doritos decision ;)
There are 3 different storylines on Laugh Floor that I know about. Obviously the jokes are always somewhat different but there are 3 general plots that we've seen.
It was definintely not a 2 star trip...they were wrong. They clearly didn't take into consideration the 7 for 4 deal, the school groups, the SuperBowl being in Florida the weekend before, and the cheerleading championships.
We didn't get that wet on Splash. They had shut off the extra jets (presumably due to the cold weather) so it was back to the old ride.
Good luck convincing Henry on the October trip. Personally I wouldn't do DL by myself unless I was just going to DL/CA and staying at a hotel within walking distance. The traffic/driving makes me way too nervous. And I drive in Boston everday :scared1:
yay for new ressies! I can't tell you how jealous I am! Jayden wants to be Sally for Halloween too! She decided that last Halloween. Stacy, have you figured out how you are going to make that yet? Hopefully we will be at Disneyland in October. It's my favorite time of year to go!

Our idea right now is a feliz- not really a Sally costume, but a Sally custom. Giant Sally applique on the front panel- then the straps, and side panels will be all funky patchworky (like Sally) with exposed stitching, etc. The back will be ruffled up with the different fabrics in the patchwork. What do you think?
Also, the snow white will be a semi-case of yours. I can't believe that we had the exact same idea about the peasant top! The skirt will NOT have the dwarves though. I do not have the patience!!

The HM wasn't that crazy at MNSSHP...where I expected it to be long.
The rebooking conversation was almost a little embarrassing...she asked when the last time I was there and when I said "two weeks ago" in a little voice, she told me not to be embarrassed by my Disney obsession...her EXACT words! :rotfl2:

After the show, we were feeling pretty hungry. We contemplated Columbia Harbour House for minute but that menu is really seafood heavy. I’m a New Englander so that’s fine with me but I didn’t want to go somewhere that Stacy had one option. Plus the people waiting for HM were still standing in the restaurant so we skipped it.
Instead we went to….

Whoo Hooo…yet again something new. I’ve never eaten here before. In all our trips, we only eaten at Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill. I’ve always wanted to eat at Pinocchio Village Haus ever since I discovered that this was what those people sitting over IASW were doing! Alas, there were no IASW view seats but we did sit outside and have a leisurely people watching session.
Stacy had a salad. Such a good girl. I had chicken fingers. But I did have a water and apple slices with it instead of soda and fries. Can’t be having my new friend Stacy thinking that I only ate processed foods! I did have the Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert. I wa pretty stuffed and couldn’t finish it but the bites I did have were pretty good!
After lunch, we headed over to Toontown for a very special meet and greet. We only met one character the whole trip and THIS was it. BUT I’m going to need to skip this update. Sorry folks. The only proof of it is contained on my photopass cd. When it arrives, I will take you back to this fun interaction. I will leave you a shot of the light fixture we stared at for an obnoxious amount of time (the sign LIED…big time!) This ended up being the longest line we waited in the whole time!

After that fun, we decided to take a small break and ride the train around the park. I discovered the train on our last trip. I mean, I always knew that it was there but I never thought about how it did provided a nice break mid-afternoon. After standing in a very long character line, our legs were tired and we needed a break. So onto the railroad we went

After a trip around the park, we got back off at Toontown and walked back over to Tomorrowland. We were going to ride the People Mover in honor of our kiddos. But check out the line….

A line for the PeopleMover???? Really???? See the park levels were insane. ;)
OK, I’ll fess up. Those people were actually waiting around because the People Mover was temporarily shut down. Instead, I dragged Stacy onto…

She hadn’t been on it since she was a kid and frankly, everyone needs to experience that song. It’s more catchy that IASW.

You guess… Did we get to the Poly on time OR did we find something a bit distracting by the flagpole???
FUN! I can't wait to hear about the meet 'n' greet! :rolleyes1 I think I heard a little preview somewhere...I can never get anyone to go on Carousel of Progress with me! I've never seen it. :sad1: Those crowds are crazy! Once we tried to go on HM and the wait was like 40 minutes. We went back another day (President's Day actually) and it was 5 minutes :confused3

You have had the meet and greet preview...no ruining it for the other kids ;)
You've never been on the CoP??? You HAVE to go on it. Walt would want you too! Tell your kids its a nice place to take a break and cool off (if it's actually warm during your next trip!)

I was cursing your name one morning when I woke up singing "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow. . ." or whatever those words are! I couldn't get it out of my head all day.
We really did have soooo much fun. We did what we wanted, when we wanted. Though Kristine has yet to mention how many millions of times I went to the potty. I think at this point it was Stacy- 4, Kristine-0

Ok folks...my secret is out. I have the bladder of a camel. When I'm 50 I fully expect that this will no longer be the case but as of now I'm good. I can seriously count on one hand the number of time I've used the bathroom at work (aside from when I was expecting)....and I've worked there 10 years :rotfl2:

Just at POP (much to my DH's dismay who has turned into a Deluxe resort snob!). I'm really trying to keep this trip cheap(er) ;)
I really enjoy Pop! I'm sure your DD will have a blast there too!
It was definintely not a 2 star trip...they were wrong. They clearly didn't take into consideration the 7 for 4 deal, the school groups, the SuperBowl being in Florida the weekend before, and the cheerleading championships.
How could you forget all the tour groups?

He loves rides like Space Mountain, BTMRR, Everest, Test Track too but he loves the classics.

yes, she love the theming there. She's only been there once a few year ago but she actually asked if she could stay at the hotel with the Playdoh and bowling pins again someday. PERFECT!!! I was afraid she would be disappointed that we weren't staying at AKL
We contemplated WL (1 because we will be spending most of our time at MK and 2 because I'd love to stay at a different hotel but can't afford the monorail hotels). However, I can't justify the additional $650 for what is really a very elaborate bday gift ;)

Yay for Leighanna! Tell her next time to sign if the bus stops at POP. They have a POP Star of the Day pin that they give out. Aisling was singing on the bus when we stopped there and a CM came on the bus to give it to her!
Really hoping that the crowd situation has prepped me for going in October (when it's regular season). We shall see... ;)

I used to think that the Pinocchio restaurant was fancy because you got to watch IASW at it. But, on our last trip, Steph wanted to eat there and I saw that it was counter service. I was pleasantly surprised!
I'm ashamed of you that you didn't finish your cheesecake!
I know what line you were in!! Of course, I've seen your photopass pictures, so I cheated. It was a totally deceptive line wait time and I wasn't happy about it!
A line for the people mover???? Oh, you faker!
Hey that wiring from COP looks like my dad might have done it! I'm not so sure I agree that everyone needs to experience that ride...er...attraction... I hadn't been on it since I was a kid, either. But, we did it in '08. I think I'm good for a long while. I was disappointed that they'd changed the song. I prefer "Now is the time, now is the best time. Now is the best time of our lives." :snooty:
Woo-hoo!! I can see up Aurora's skirt!
Wow, they are really creepy!
Oooh! Oooh!! I vote for distraction by the flagpole!
I've never heard of the Pop Star of the day! I would have told Tessa to turn up the volume!

Great update! I may need to steal a photo or two for my scrapbook if you don't mind - I don't think I took one darn photo on Splash Mtn and it was our first time on it.
We went on COP for the first time on our last trip - - it was lame and great at the same time if that makes any sense.
My DD loved POP! I was worried because our previous stays were at WL and AKL. I think if she got to choose out of those three she would go back to POP. Good luck keeping it a surprise!
I can't believe those crowds! If the Boutiquers are considering making this an annual event, you may want to consider early November. We had low crowds and decent weather. All of the foreign tour groups seem to go in late January/early February now. Plus, it would call for a trip in Nov 2009. ;)
Happy Mardi Gras too! Though I am annoyed because our corporate office is in Baton Rouge so they are closed today but we are working. I think we need to get off for some other day that they don't get off. I'm from PA - maybe Groundhog's Day or something.

Well since I'm going in October I doubt my DH will agree to a trip the beginning of November ;) BUT, I do have the AP burning a hole in my pocket :rotfl:
That's unfair that you don't get the day off. You should at least get a floating holiday. I work outside of Boston and Boston has two random holidays that we don't get (St. Paddy's Day and a day in June) and we get them as floating holidays. So I save my Paddy's day holiday until it's actually nice out!

My telephoto lens is a Sigma (it's 70mm-300mm I think??) The upcoming AK pics were taken with that.

Well, I thought my next update would be about the rest of our night at MK BUT do to modern technology…I am able to get you the character meet and greet a little earlier than expected (just don’t ask questions)
After lunch we decided to head over to Toontown to meet the fairies. I just had to see Tink. She wasn’t out yet during my last visit in Sept. Stacy and I got into Toontown Faire and noticed immediately that it had been completely re-done. If you are planning a trip and don’t know…only the Fairies and Princesses meet there now. No Pooh and Friends, No Fab 5. The new waiting area is really pretty. I spent enough time there to notice.
The sign said 40 minutes. The sign lied! Stacy and I thought 40 minutes was somewhat reasonable and every other line had been less than the stated time so we figured “why not?” At the 40 minute mark, we hadn’t moved at ALL. Not a single person had been allowed in. In the meantime, the Princess line was flying along. Not us! The line didn’t start moving for almost an hour. You can imagine the cheer when they finally started letting people in. For Tink, they only let 1 or 2 groups at a time. When you think you are going in…you aren’t really. In the 2nd hallway, you are “prepped” for meeting Tink. I won’t ruin the experience but let me say that Stacy and I were required to act like children!
The meet and greet in general was FAB. Clearly all Disney characters get into their characters but the Fairies really eat it up (Tink in particular, who at one point, ran around in room in some kind of tantrum and then sat on the floor and pouted)
First up was Iridessa
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/fantasytoontown/fairy2.jpg
She proclaimed that I am a Light Talent Fairy like her and Stacy is an Animal Talent Fairy (*note…Stacy is NOT an animal lover so this was quite funny!)
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/fantasytoontown/fairy3.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/fantasytoontown/fairy4.jpg
Next up was Tink. She was quite surprised to see her image on our “Petunias” (as our hoodies were now tied around our waists- leaving Tink’s silhouette on our bottoms!)
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/fantasytoontown/fairy5.jpg
I should point out that I am not 6’2…Stacy is just very petite! The proof is in this pic. She’s shorter than Tink!!!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/fantasytoontown/fairy6.jpg
Lastly, we met Silvermist. She was very chatty and asked a lot about our talents
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/fantasytoontown/fairy7.jpg
Overall we ended up waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes to meet Tink. Worth it???? Absolutely!!!

MMMM…food. For a woman who is fasting, now is as good of a time as any to do a food porn post!
Where were we when I was so rudely interrupted by finding a way to post my photopass pics :ssst:???
Oh ya, fighting the crowd up Main St to get to the Poly. Even the CMs were commenting on the crowds. And the fact that every square inch of the sidewalks was already taken up by people waiting for the parade. This was about 5:50pm. The parade wasn’t until 7pm.
When we got up to the front of the park, that’s when we saw it, right under the flagpole…a flash of ruffles! A custom???? We MUST know these people! And in fact, we did. It was Cindee, Jessica, and Tom and their broods. The kids were running around playing tag. We introduced ourselves and I was immediately asked to say “Tiara” That’s right folks: It’s pronounced TEA-ARE-RA, not TEA-AIR-A. Everyone had a good chuckle over my accent and we continued to gab. Until we realized that it was 6:15 and was had a 6:30 ADR!!! So literally we had to run! Sadly nobody thought to take any pictures of this meet up! OH well
I’ve never been late for an ADR. In fact, I’m usually 10-15 minutes early. This was not to be the case. We just missed a monorail so had to wait for another one. Then there was a huge crowding getting on/off at CR and TTC. We pulled up to the Poly at 6:38. Stacy and I ran. We got to the podium at 6:40. Luckily the CM didn’t blink an eyelash at us checking in late.

However, THEN she punished us. They didn’t sit us until 7pm. We were supposed to be back at MK for WISHES at 8pm. So we asked our very accommodating waiter to bring our whole meal and check right away….which he did!
First up was the drinks! This being late business meant Kristine and Stacy needed an adult beverage. We were going to get the Lapu Lapu but decided to go with the Tropical Macaw. It was similar booze but much cheaper

http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Kona/859466944705_0_ALB.jpg
Next up was the sweet bread with Macadamia nut butter. I couldn’t have the butter due to my nut allergy but the bread was really good. The waiter promised to bring me regular butter but we had finished the bread before he got back!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Kona/446996944705_0_ALB.jpg
Next up…main course
Stacy got the Almond Coconut Chicken with Salad
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Kona/784617944705_0_ALB.jpg
I got the Shrimp and Scallops with sticky rice
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Kona/698227944705_0_ALB.jpg
We both got the same dessert.
Chocolate Banana Crème Brulee. It was a little dish of heaven. If you get this dessert, make sure to dig down to get the chocolate!!!! Stacy and I both missed it at first

I had some time to snap some light pics for LL before we were off running again. Will be see WISHES from inside the MK or from the monorail???

I've only used mine at Disney but it does take great pics. Someday I'll be able to afford a better prime lens. They make a 200mm 2.8!!! Those would take some FAB pics at Disney! You don't think my DH would notice a missing $5 grand right???? ;) :rotfl:
:lmao: You never know, totally worth a shot. Hahahaha!!!
LOved all the new pictures!!!

Did you enjoy Kona? Just looking at that almond chicken makes me want to eat there again. :yay:

The almond chicken was AMAZING! I am debating going to Kona again on the next trip just for that! Though I do wonder if some of the meals were just a bit better because of the yummy drinks! I won't be able to have any drinks on the next trip, just me and the kiddos. It's not that I don't drink around them, just only do it when I have some help just in case- because I am paranoid like that.
Kristine is right, I am moving and Jackson is sick- not a good combo. Jackson has strep and is taking breathing treatments every few hours to keep his oxygen levels up. He is getting better though. We probably won't have to do the breathing treatments much longer. Hopefully, I will be fully moved by Sunday.
I agree with Kristine on everything (as we share a brain!)- Tink was worth it, Hook and Smee are creepy, and Kona was awesome!
You left out the part about our table at Kona. When we got there, we saw a table for two open (and several others as well). We waited for 20 minutes, and got that table that was empty when we got there!! Crazy.

You had the same Tink as us! She was pretty funny with us, too. Petunias! LOL!!
When we were looking through the photopass pictures, we noticed that Stacy was shorter than Tink.
It's funny how the incredibly long line to meet Tinkerbell is forgotten once you see how much fun they are!
I'm so glad you still had your ADRs. I bet they're used to people showing up late with unpredictable Disney transportation!
Oops, I spoke too soon! Yikes, you had to eat fast!
Mmmmm....the food looks SO good there! Stacy's chicken, in particular!

How tall are you, Stacy? My mom is 4'11.5". But, she insists that she's 5'. ;)
I'm sorry to hear that Jackson is sick. Poor baby! That's gotta be hard when you're in the middle of a move!

oooo TWO updates!!
I'm not a big Tink fan so I don't know if I could wait that long to meet her. Since she is with all the other fairies, maybe. But that would mean I'd have to watch the Tink movie which I haven't done yet!
Wait, I didn't know there was another way of pronouncing tiara. I thought it was tea-ARE-ah :confused3 What's that about?

Of course we made it WISHES…we are Stacy and Kristine SUPER Disney travelers. We know our stuff. We actually made it to our watching spot with 10 minutes to spare! That’s right. We ate at Kona, paid the bill, took the monorail to MK, got back through the gates, down Main St to the walkway between the Plaza Restaurant and Tomorrowland to meet up with the Disboutiquers
I even had time to stop and snap a shot!

After the fireworks and some chatting, we split up. Stacy and I decided to join Jessica, Lin, and Dallas on some rides. We were determined to head over to HM- luckily they were game! They were even wearing HM themed outfits!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Night/614447944705_0_ALB.jpg
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Night/123186944705_0_ALB.jpg
When we entered HM, there was some kind of weird hold up. For the first time ever, I noticed that there are two rooms with no doors/walls. The group in the other room was held up and let out at the same time of us which caused mass chaos into the hallway to the ride entrance. Stacy, Jessica, and I were gabbing away (as women do) and ended up losing Jessica’s family. Then we get to the front and were told 2 or 3 to a vehicle…um okay, either all 3 of us have to squeeze in OR one of us needed to ride with strangers. So we squeezed. Poor Jessica got stuck in the middle! Stacy and I were practically sitting her lap. I think we chatted the whole ride!!! Oh well! It got us over the awkwardness of my huge thighs squishing her thin ones!!!
After the ride we left Dallas pick what else he wanted to ride. We walked through Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. Dallas and Lin rode the racecars while us girls continued to gab. (Does anyone else think those cars REEK?!?!) . Then it was onto Buzz Lightyear! I was telling Lin about my amazing performance that morning and how I couldn’t figure out how I did it. He explained that I immediately hit something on the back of the first wall. Um okay…guess I’ll try that again. While in line, Lin pointed out a hidden mickey in the planets he had discovered. YAY Lin!!!
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/Disney%202008/283557819605_0_ALB.jpg
Stacy and I get into our ride vehicle and I am prepared that there is NO way I’m going to win again. We enter the first room and I again hit something big. My score goes up to 100000, then 200000, then 30000. The next thing I know, THIS was my SCORE!!! :scared1:
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Night/101047944705_0_ALB.jpg
I didn’t think it was possible. I really thought that chick on the Travel Channel special was lying that she had gotten it! But there it was! Well, let me tell you, Buzz is boring after you hit
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Night/101047944705_0_ALB.jpg
So I took pics of Jessica’s family (too bad none of them came out)
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg269/ksc565/DisMeet/MK/Night/576067944705_0_ALB.jpg
After that we finally got that ride on the People Mover…where Jessica took a truly terrible picture of me…if you want to see it…check out her TR!!! I don’t think we need to see it again on here!!
Sooo what’s up for Day 3???

I love the new update! I am so glad you and Stacy made it back for Wishes. We truly enjoyed spending the evening with you guys! The HM was quite fun all squished into one little car! I forgot how small those cars really were. I still think Lin ditched us on purpose.
Your pictures of Wishes are terrific. I knew there was no reason to get my camera out and try to get a picture. And good picture of us by the HM. I am not sure why Dallas is not in the middle, that is his spot, but hey we actually have a picture of all 3 of us! Thanks for taking it!
I enjoyed gabbing away and Dallas couldn't wait to meet up with his friends Kristine and Stacy the next day. He kept talking about you guys.
For anyone who wasn't at the meet, Kristine and Stacy were both so good with all the kids! They did whatever they asked and acted like they were really interested in what the kids were saying!!

Next day was busy. AK and Epcot!!! AND it had finally warmed up enough enough that we could take off our hoodies for awhile!
First up was AK. Stacy and I woke up bright and early…well actually I think Stacy was awake a long time before me Blackberrying or reading or something. We got ready and headed down to Everything POP for breakfast. I somehow flew through the line with my breakfast choices and then couldn’t find Stacy. I finally located her still waiting to pay (it was packed). I made the mistake of waiving to her and completely knocked over my cup of tea, it spilled (and the overflowed) all over my tray and breakfast :sad2:
I immediately notified a CM who took next to forever to come over to clean it up. I just stood there saying “be careful” over and over again. And then he just threw napkins all over the spill. Um, I could have done that. I figured that POP would actually own a MOP! Guess not. Then I felt terrible that this guy was down on the floor with napkins cleaning my mess. Stacy managed to rearrange the food onto her tray and put my breakfast on her plate so it wouldn’t get all soggy and then found a table. I re-made my tea and we finally sat down to eat.
Next it was onto AK. We noticed that it was less crowded at the bus stops and were hoping that meant that the school groups left yesterday. We got there at opening and headed right to the Safari…briefly stopping for a little Photopass session

The sign at the Safari already said 20 minutes. I figured that it couldn’t be. It did take awhile but that’s because people were walking alone the walkway very slowly and checking out the ambiance of the line. Kinda annoying but I got over it when we were the first group that got to go when they opened the 2nd line!!! Which means we skipped a LOT!!! Yippee!!

Next up we needed to Battle to Yeti! There was a really long line but they had opened up a single rider line with no wait. We jumped right in it. We didn’t get to sit together but we were in the same train.
I have to tell you, I could feel my blood pressure rising on this one. I’ve only been on EE once and while I LOVE rollercoasters, I was sick when I went on it last time and came out shaking and white. I’ve been afraid of it ever since. I didn’t know if it was the ride or the fact that I wasn’t feeling well before I went on it. But I decided that today was the day I would conquer my fear.
AND I’M SO GLAD I DID!!! It was definitely NOT the ride!!! I loved it this time around! Not nearly as terrifying as I remembered it. I truly loved it…no matter WHAT my face says in this picture…

Doesn’t it look like the Yeti slapped me across the face???
Stacy in comparison looked liked she was taking a Sunday stroll!!

I love your Yeti photo. I am really trying to hype myself up to try Expedition Everest and Tower of Terror in May. I am going to try to be brave. :scared1:

Ok ladies...I won't keep you waiting!!!
LL- you've never done either ride???? Oh you must. If you have a weak stomach, take a non-drowsy Dramamine before you leave your hotel room and you'll be fine! I love thrill rides but my stomach didn't starting a couple of years ago (the joys of getting old). I now take a Dramamine every day at Disney and I'm fine.

Stacy had gotten a hot spot on her ankle from her Alice style Crocs. She tried putting on bandaids but they wouldn’t last. By the time we got off Yeti, they were GONE. So we needed to get Stacy help quick. We walked around Asia and there was nothing comfy to be had. I suggested that she just put on another bandaid with socks. She’d look dorky for a couple of minutes but it would save me from pushing her butt around in a wheelchair from the rest of the day!!! So we stopped at this little tree viewing area so she could get some socks. She does have a picture of how beautiful this looked…maybe she’ll care to share???
Meanwhile, I took some pics of the tree (and some light fixtures)

I suggested that we walk up to the front of the park. FOTLK was about to start and we would surely find come comfortable footwear at Island Merchantile…which we did.
On the way, we found DeVine. She is just so pretty, I had to stop and take some pics!

Stacy bought some FAB purple Minnie Janes and was FIXED!!!! Crisis averted. Onto FOTLK!!!
We walked down the walkway and they were screaming for people to hurry up and get inside…which we did. I think they made a comment about our shirts. Since you can’t see the back of them…I should show what they are:

No, I haven't. I get really scared on rides. I'm a wimp. As I get older, I am a lot less adventurous. I have been on Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. I am really going to try to be brave though and do it. I think I might be better off going by myself because I won't have anyone to freak out too and I can just suck it up. :lmao:
Oh that is too bad about her Alice crocs! Gotta love the Minnie Janes though.

If you can do Space Mountain...you can do it. I think Space Mountain is really jerky and that adds to the motion sickness

You thought it was a ride right???? It wasn’t!!! We had to eat! We had a reservation at Yak & Yeti for Noon…it was only 11:15 at this point but there wasn’t anything else that we “had” to do at AK so we walked back over to see if we could be seated earlier so we could get some extra time in Epcot.
Took some more pictures along the way!

Yummy Drinks:
Stacy had the Yak Attack and I had the Bonsai Blast

Seriously, you almost had to roll us out of there. We could barely move. It took us forever to get to the front of the park to bus it over to Epcot.
Would we make it in time to meet all the Disboutiquers in China at 2pm?!?!

Isn't that camera great!!! I wish I got it ages ago. I had a film SLR when I had my DD but gave it up when my DD was born because you just need digital with kiddos but with a new baby, didn't have the money laying around for a DSLR. Last year DH gave me the go ahead to do my part to stimulate the economy!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
Of course you made it in. You'll have to put the group pics in your photobucket account!
great update Kristine! I love AK! Thanks for the food pics! I'm so hungry right now! But I think I could get DH to agree to another Disneyworld trip based solely on your review and photos of Yak & Yeti! Dessert won tons? Who knew? Those look sooooo good. I love the light fixtures in there too. I'm glad you liked EE this time. I think it is in reality rather tame and smooth, but so fun!

It was sooo good!!! Can't say that enough! But is it good enough for us to go over to AK just to do that?!?! I mentioned it to Randy and pointed out that this would require yet another outfit change for Aisling. He officially thinks I'm nuts :rotfl:

Darn you with your wonderful Yak N' Yeti review and not to mention the light fixtures! It looks like it is light fixture heaven. I am so wanting to make an ADR there. Do you think it would be weird to order an app and dessert? None of the entrees make me want to jump up and down but the apps and dessert look amazing. Sigh. The problems of obsessive DISers! :lmao:

That's funny because we wanted to the same thing. Unfortunately on the meal plan you can't get an app as your "entree" but if you were paying OOP...go for it! The lettuce cups and wontons would have been enough for me.

Knew a mommy would appreciate that!!!
Hey completely unrelated to this...I have a dance question. How hard is it to sew up sequin straps? They ordered my 5 year old a child's LARGE for her dance costume. It's huge. It's a new company and last year the costumes ran really really small and all the parents had to trade around. So this year she ordered big just in case...but they are just way too huge. Nothing I can do about how baggy it is but I can take up the straps to make it a little more "modest" KWIM??? But they are sequins. Any suggestions???
The pink/orange one is her costume. Theme is Circus Circus

Try taking a big tuck on each side, from the arm hole down to where it gets fluffy--I had to do that on one of my granddaughter's costumes many years ago. It shouldn't be too difficult to sew the sequins--but be sure to use a heavy duty needle. Good luck!

I took a peak at the costume and it looks really cute.
I'm new to the world of female dancers. So I don't know what to tell you. My son never gets to wear sequins. He'd really like to.
I know a duet costume came too big last year and the two girls had a seamstress attach the sequin spagetti straps together in the back. But it was only two girls so whatever you do to A's costume you want to make sure it still matches all the others.

It is a cute costume. When I first saw it I thought they were turning my 5 year old into a Vegas showgirl :scared1: But they are cute in person and the little ones love them. I think if I just shorten the straps, it shouldn't be noticable. Let's hope :thumbsup2

Part of the joy of going on a girls' only trip...adult beverages don't need to be limited ;) Although Stacy and I aren't big drinkers so we stuck to one per meal! I think my Disney trips are the most I drink all year. Every restaurant has such yummy girly drinks (I don't drink wine or beer so that's right up my alley!)

Because i can't plan just concentrate on one trip at a time.... look what I had made for Aisling today. How cute is that???
http://www.4shared.com/file/90366498/ba1ada2b/Tnkrbelle565_Aisling.html
I saw one in another TR and DISer Telynn made it today. I also already started bugging our good friend Tracie for a shirt DISign. It's all part of the surprise package we'll give her!!!
Yes, this is 7 months away. I'm nuts!
For instance, I worried about this today: I want to do the Photo Session at GF because I loved Jessica's pictures and I thought our trip was a great time to get Christmas card shots. I'm planning on going to 1900 PF for dinner on Aisling's actual bday so I figured I would try to get the photoshoot for an hour or so beforehand. BUT I also plan on letting Aisling do BBB on her bday which means she'll be all glammed up. Do I want family pictures with her all "boutiqued"???? :confused3
See this is why I should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER be on emergency duty at work during a blizzard. I think about stupid things!
