I started WW last week for a second time and hope to stick with it. I also pulled out my old aerobic tapes to do.

I can make it through most of the warm up and into the first routine. Then I get this very very painful burning in the bottom of my feet. Now, granted I am about 40 pounds overweight. I tried new aerobic shoes, new running shoes, inserts in each of those shoes, my old shoes, inserts in my old shoes.

It is so painful I cannot continue. I can walk with no problem. After walking awhile and then sitting bottoms feet get stiff until I take a few steps, then it is fine.

Is this plantar fasciaitis? It is not my heel but rather the entire length of my foot, mainly above the arch (which was why I tried inserts) . Anything I can do?

I really would like to do my aerobic tapes with Richard Simmons!:rotfl:

This sounds EXACTLY like what I had and I was diagnosed with plantar fascitis. What I needed to do was have inserts made professionally and ultimately that is what helped the most.

One thing to do to help with the pain/inflamation is to freeze a water bottle and then roll the bottle under your foot back and forth, that should help.

Good luck!

Thanks. It really doesn't hurt at any other time.

Guess I am off to see a podiatrist.

sorry to hear of your foot pain! it's so hard to get into a routine of exercising, so your commitment despite feet issues is very impressive! Good luck with your doc....

Thank you for the kind words.

Since it will be a few weeks until I can get in to a Dr., I purchased a treadmill. (walking does not seem to aggravate the problem.) I have done 1.5 miles yesterday and today, at a level 3. Once I get comfortable at that I will increase incline, then speed.

I know it will be hard because you want to get started now with your exercise program but respect your body and go slowly.

I have had plantar faciitis for almost a year now. It got worse because I didn't take care of myself. Just a few weeks ago I had to have a shot in my foot -- I would rather have a baby without an epidural again! So, please, please take it easy and avoid months of pain for yourself. It will get better faster if you take care of yourself.
