I get married on May 16, 2009 (THREE MONTHs!!!!) We honeymoon in Walt disney World May 17-24. And May 24-31st we are driving down to the Keys (Key West).
The cast:

Josh (21) has been dragged TWICE to Disney by me in the past year. Once last May (where we got engaged, see TR in siggy if interested), and once in August for his 21st birthday. He fell completely in love with Disney World quickly. He will be commissioning to the US Army in May (and graduating with his Bachelor's in health care administration), a week before our wedding. He goes to Basic Officer Leadership Course II and II from September 19-December 21st... So I'm just looking forward to spending as much as our newlywed time together as possible.

SIDE NOTE: We toured DVC in May and Josh was pretty interested. He asked a lot of questions, and crunched a lot of numbers. He told me that while with our bi-annual trips, it would make some sense to buy in, he couldn't justify it without the emotional tie. He told me that if that big building they were building by Contemporary was DVC and if the price was in line with AKV, I could be a proud DVC owner. Not only did all that happen, but in November they offered matching Developer points.... So we bought and are taking a trip in July with our Developer points and a trip in December over NYE with our BLT points!!!!!

Caitlin (24) I graduated last year with my MSN. I've been working the past year as a nurse at an inner city Catholic hopsital on an ICU stepdown floor. It's physically and mentally exhausting. I enjoy what I do, but it's not something I can keep up much longer. I am applying to go back to school in the fall, I want a certificate in midwifery! I went to DIsney every year until High School. Tink's my favorite character (You'll be able to tell in my clothing), but I am a huge fan of Belle. I love a disney princess that was selfless (trading herself for her father) and brilliant, and never afraid to have her nose in a book!

Our Disneymoon is booked at the Beach Club Villas. We are looking forward to being so close to our favorite park Epcot and plan on spending three days there, two days at MK, one day each at MGM and AK. We are landing on the 17th at 4:09 PM and taking the Magical Express, I'm a bit nervous that our whole day will be shot (but we decided that leaving at noon would be much better for us and our post-wedding exhaustion then taking an earlier flight).

We are planning on doing the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. My FH made a big Excel spreadsheet detailing all that we want to do and what days we want to go to parks and what restaurants. i will post that, but I need help from you guys (I make ADRs TOMORROW!) AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  :goodvibes

I got every ADR I wanted, and the CM I spoke with was helpful. It went really well, thank you! Do you get married May 16th too? How insane
!!!! Where are you guys staying? Are you doing the Dining plan too?
I called off work last night. Scratch that. I pulled into my parking lot at work, fainted in my car, broke out in sweats and have been alternating between sweats and chills sincet hen. I've had a terrible headache and been sleeping excessively all week, but the nausea ahd chills/sweats just started yesterday. I would blame it ont he flu, but I'm afebrile.
I'm just so disappointed I'm sick, I'm using up valuable vacation time that I need for my honeymooon (they lump vacation time in with our sick leave, and we're required to use up 40 percent of our vacation time before our sick pay kicks in. Also, I'm going to be on my second step for termination for a "late call off" yesterday unless I take off the rest of the week so that I can get my medical leave FMLA paperwork filled out by my PCP. It sucks because I feel too sick to work tonight, but I'm tired of having to play the system to be sick. It's so much paperwork just to not get fired for calling off.
I totaled my car in December when i skidded on black ice on my way to work, missed three days in a row (one including the day I totalled my car, on my way to work). I was in my hopsitals ER, had a note from my doctor, and it still wasn't good enough.... I didn't fill out the triplicate leave form. Even though I was in the hopsital's er being seen by our docs and nurses, it's such crap. I'm very fed up and now I'm nervous that my late call off (i.e. fainting and being rescued by co-workers) are going tomput me on the chopping block. It's ridiculous that I have to worry about this when I'm sick
Anyways I'm done venting. I think.

Wednesday at 11AM and Kona at 730AM! OH NO! So close!
We are doing both early to fit in with other meals (kona is a 3 meal day) and 50s ptc is before our mama melrose fantasmic dinner reservation!
I tried to write on your Engagement TR but it won't let me. I still haven't finished mine, if it makes you feel any better!

Sorry you're not feeling well, and that you have to worry about work! I had Lyme Disease over the summer (wouldn't wish it on anyone!) and I was out of work for about a month total. It took forever for it to get diagnosed properly, but luckily I have a very understanding employer. I'm sorry you're dealing with this!
Yes, we're getting married on the 16th in New Hampshire and leaving for WDW on the 17th... staying at the Poly until the 23rd when we leave on DCL for a week! We're also doing the Deluxe Dining Plan... we were just going to do the regular one, but there were enough restaurants we wanted to go to that it made sense to upgrade.
Hope you feel better!

OMG I am so sorry that you're sick! Your hospital has a crazy leave policy. It sounds so unfair, I feel so bad for you :sad2:
On a happier note, your plans look great so far!! That is awesome that you got all the ADRs you wanted. They look great, I am especially interested in how you like Jiko, we are trying it for our first time in June. (Well, as long as everything goes smoothly when I book on March 8th lol)
Can't wait for more!!

I'm sorry you are sick. I'm actually home sick from work today and was scared to call in. My supervisor can be pretty mean, but as my DH says, "if you're sick, you're sick" So here I am on the disboards :rotfl:
I got married in Disney at the Yacht Club Gazebo on May 4, 2007 and then we stayed at the GF for our honeymoon for 2 weeks after that. You are going to have such a fantastic time!!!! We are going to be there for a few days overlapping your trip... we are going 5/12-5/19. Have fun planning and can't wait to read all about it!!

I honestly think I am somewhat depressed because I dislike my job, most of my friends have moved away, and my family's two hours away... Working nights really makes it hard to have a social life and I feel like I spend my life sleeping. At least I have three DVC trips to plan and the DIS!!!! I don't know what I would do without my amazing best friend of a fiance.
haha, on another note (after my work rant).... Did everyone see this?
CareerBuilder Super Bowl Commercial (http://www.careerbuilder.com/tv/)
It pretty much is perfect for how I have been feeling lately. I was working the night of the Super Bowl (of course) but Josh posted it on my facebook wall and I laughed very hard.

I am so envious, it's not my employer whose not sympathetic, it's the hospital policy. It's very hard to maneuver around. It's just, I'm a nurse, I'm responsible for people's lives and most of my patients are very susceptible to disease. I don't think it's right for me to subject them to my illness or my poor judgement when I'm sick and weak. You think that they would want nurses on top of their game!
BTW I think you have a simply fabulous wedding date. I recall reading your E report back when I first got engaged. I remember the matching polos!
Maybe we'll run into you. I'm super:love: obsessed with the Poly although Josh says we'll never stay there because of DVC (we'll see).
Aren't you nervous you're going to wind up super fat and sick feeling on the Deluxe plan? LOL I am so nervous!

I'm really nervous about Jiko, I have heard great things and I'm not exactly a picky eater but ostrich frightens me!
Haha thanks, I agree, and I feel bad for myself!!!! But I really appreciate it  I was so surprised I got all my ADRs. Lauren, are you nervous about the 90 day deadline in June? Are you doing a Dining plan.
I'm going in July and we're staying at SSR in a 1BR so we get a kitchen. Josh says NO restaurants and NO theme parks, he doesnt' want to fight the crowds. He says we'll just tour resorts and enjoy SSRs pool (and maybe spa) and cook in our villa. I'm nervous, I've never done Disney that way before!!!!
PS it was so strange to make the reservation entirely in his name/my future name (the July one) I'm assuming that all my stuff will be switched over to his name by then!!!!
sorry to hear about your sick leave policy, maybe more disney planning will cheer you up!! :flower3:
Haha it totally is, I may have been popping Ibuprofen like candy but I am researching new jobs and a new place for us to move. Fiance has been applying to be a police officer or a health care office manager all over... But I got him to extend his search out of Ohio to KY!!!! I'd love to live in Cinci or KY or FL... So WDW planning, and a career/locale switch is really really really making me feel better!

I wanted to get married SO badly in FL but Josh said that it would be too hard to have our family there, and he's right, but I'm still sad about it. Maybe a VR some day. I can't wait for our Disneymoon, I have the bride ears and everything!!!
Where are you staying when you go?
You are so right. I wish my FH was like that. My FH was like "You sure you can't stick it out? I know your pale and sweating profusely, but we can't afford for you to get fired." Um he's normally the most romantic kindly dude in the world, but I think this economy has him a bit panicked since I'm the main breadwinner (aside from his Army reserves pay and a PT job)

at my childhood church
Wedding Reception 5-11PM
Our reception site is going with our military wedding theme. We've rented out two rooms and a wedding patio (with a little fire pit and chairs and tables outside). The first room is a ballroom, with floor to ceiling windows that look out over the airport, and hard wood floors, the second room is a little room designed to look like a turn of the century study and it's for our bar. Our wedding patio is closed off from everything else and the only entry is from our ballroom.
My dress: OMG i somehow only have one o my cellphone of my dress.

That's all my wedding stuff done.
Now back to the Disney stuff. Does anyone have any ideas for how to make this trip more romantic?
I'm thinking of booking an extra ADR at the San Angel Inn, not because we want to eat there (we hate the food) but because we want to get drinks and enjoy the atmosphere and then ride gran fiesta while we've had a margarita or two in our system????
Does anyone have any sweet ideas for BCV or Epcot or MK? (I'd say MGM or AK too, but we're only there one day apiece and not for very long!)

Just a heads-up, because we tried to get San Angel Inn (again, not for the food but for the atmosphere and b/c FH has never been) but it's closed for refurb during our honeymoons. So plan to get your pre-Gran Fiesta drinks at the stand outside Mexico, instead! :)

Ahhhh Caitlin it is insane how much we have in common!! I am also wearing a champagne colored dress (well technically champagne/ivory but close enough) with an elbow length veil and I am also having hydrangeas as my flowers! Your dress is so beautiful!!
I am so nervous about my ADRs. This new 90 day thing is throwing me off. We are going to San Angel (hopefully!) because it is so romantic. I think their food is ok, but I really just go for atmosphere. I love the idea of just doing margaritas. And I totally rode Gran Fiesta tour in January after having a HUGE margarita and it is a whole new experience :rotfl: DF was making fun of me the whole time.
We might be spending a lot of our honeymoon at the resort, so I think that you and DFH will have a really nice time just hanging out. I can see why it would be weird to not do the parks, but I like the idea of just resort hopping and soaking up the atmosphere without rushing around and being busy all the time. If he's gonna cook for you, go for it!! Awww, that is so fun you got to make all the ressies in his name!! It is crazy, I will be doing that before long too.
I know this is kinda expensive and semi-hard to book, but have you thought of doing a wishes/illuminations cruise on your honeymoon? We did one for my mom's bday last year and I'm thinking of trying to book one for our honeymoon next year. It was so fun, worth every penny, and it would be so romantic! You mentioned the spa, maybe a couples massage at one of the spas? Sounds cheesy but they are amazing, and romantic.

Since FH and I are both <25 years old, I am having a heck of a time trying to find a decent rental from MCO (or closer) that is affordable so we can drive to the keys and back (we'll drop it off at MCO). I've found a few codes on Alamo that make Alamo appear to be the cheapest.
I had no idea it cost 323 dollars to rent a car for 6 days! Does anyone have any tips/discounts for this rental? I will seriously be two months away from 25!

It sounds like we're having twin weddings. yours is in june of '10 right??? You already have your dress? OMG you work fast. I so hate any planning, sooooooo i just left it up to josh and or mom's. I guess I did buy the dress in August, but that was only bc they told me that I should order it about 6-9 months in advance.
I really want to go to SAI for margarita's, I am so bummed. We'll be there in July & december too, I guess i'll just have to postpone!
I made all the ADRs in his name :) but i still had to keep my name on the plane tix and ressie, since it won't be changed yet... but in july and dec it will get to be!!!!!!
so tell em more about these cruises, i knwo they're super expensive but how long are they? i don't LOVE illuminations but i love wishes more than anything!

I totally had one last time, i loved it..... i forget which layer is my favorite, but josh and I have opposite favorites when it comes to layers so we were like trading margaritas back and forth when it got to a layer we didn't like, :rotfl:

You are CRAZY. THREE a day most days??? We did that once and I'm super nervous about it.... You're doing Deluxe DDP and V&As? OMG you guys must be totally rich. I've picked up 3 OT shifts just to do deluxe.... I am so envious.
Have you been to cape may? We're doing cape may on the 24th and i'm nervous.... How come you only did breakfast on the 23rd?
Your adrs look awesome! I'm nervous about Y&Y, what are you thinking about getting?
Amy7979
02-17-2009, 05:58 PM
Nope, not totally rich at all! We are doing the Disney Honeymoon Registry to help offset some of the extra costs (like V&A). Have you checked it out?
I know - I'm nervous about the three meals thing too, but there were so many places we wanted to fit in that we're just going to have to try really hard, haha! Seriously, we'll just cut WAY back on snacking (like to non-existent) and try not to finish everything so we're not too full.
Only breakfast on the 23rd because we leave that day for the Disney cruise - the bus picks us up right at the Poly at about noon, so we thought we'd have a nice leisurely breakfast at the hotel while we wait. That's what we did last time we did WDW+DCL (at Port Orleans) and it worked out great. :)
I can answer about the cruises, too - we got engaged on a Wishes cruise! It's really awesome... expensive, but it's one of the only ways to be in the middle of all the magic but still be (almost) alone (the driver is there with you, of course). It's really great - the driver takes you all around the lagoon for awhile before the fireworks start, and then finds a good spot right in front of the MK to watch the show. Some of the boats don't have the audio piped in, but in that case the driver tries to get close to a bigger boat to share their audio. Let me know if you want any more info on it... :)

We did the registry too, I'm a bit nervous people will pick the Bed Bath & Beyond registry (well not nervous.... i really want that coffee maker!) or cash... So I don't want to get TOO crazy with spending Disney money.
have you been on a disney cruise line before? i thought it would be too kiddie and i'd be better off on a carnival. what do you think?
tried to talk josh into a wishes cruise and he shot me down. quickly. poo.
can you believe how quickly our weddings are comign up? are you crazy dieting/working out ? i feel like i should be but i'm sooooooo tired.

We registered at BB&B too (and Crate & Barrel).
The Disney cruises are awesome. There are lots of adults-only things to do. In fact, the kids programs are so good that they really keep the kids busy - you aren't surrounded by kids like you'd think. (Not that kids are bad, but on a cruise you want relaxation!) The ships are beautiful and the service is really good. Give it a try someday.
I know I *should* be working out and dieting but I just can't seem to get the motivation. Ugh.

We are having twin weddings, just a year apart! I did not mean to get my dress so early but I found one that I absolutely love for an unbelievable price so I had to get it! I love planning so me and my mom are very into this wedding...talk to me in a year, I'll prob be sick of it :rotfl: I'll just want to be married already!
The cruises are so fun. They cost around 210 and you book 90 days out just like dining (you HAVE to call right at 7am when the open, but you're a pro so I'm sure you'd get it!). It picks you up 30 mins before wishes, you get a little private tour of the MK resort area out on the water and then it parks and you watch Wishes, so it's about an hour long. They charge extra to pipe the music in, but like Amy said you can hear either way. It includes snacks and drinks and you have a driver. It was my mom's bday so we paid extra and ordered a cake through the Disney bakery and the driver brought it out and surprised her with it right before the show started (like I said, we did Illuminations but I wanna try Wishes!). The whole thing was so perfect! I can't wait to do it again. It would be so romantic for a honeymoon. Maybe he will change his mind ;)

Ooo I forgot to add...I think the green apple was my favorite margarita flavor! DF doesn't drink hard alcohol so he stopped for beers in Germany and the UK, but that margarita lasted me it was huge and soooo good!!
I'm pretty sure the Mexico rehab (the reason why San Angel is closed) is because they are building an indoor margarita bar. I guess if there is gonna be a reason to close it for a bit, that is a good one!

We figured we'd just do BB&B and then Disney and see how people responded to that. I loveeeeeeeeeeeee crate & barrel, did you look at target's?? I had heard things about it that werent' so nice, but I love Target. i just got nervous because their merchandise turns over so quickly.
I'll have to keep that in mind, we've been thinking about going on a cruise for a while. However, with the honeymoon gift, and matching points we got for buying DVC, we're pretty full on vacations for this year. (Actually, we're lucky enough to get 25 days worth!) Which is awesome, because these sick days made it so I get 8 days away from work, and I am feeling like I might be able to go back....
I hate my job, and this wedding stuff, it can be overwhelming (mostly the debt). Do you ever feel just overwhelmed with life and how much work this is for JUST ONE DAY?
Especially knowing that I get my prince charming and my wedding and my vacation for TWO whole weeks, then i get to come back and put my two weeks in, and move to Columbus, OH  I might be able to tolerate this!!!
Today was supposed to be day one of working out. However, my dr ordered fasting blood work, so I was starving by the time I got done (11AM)... I hadn't eaten in 16 hours so I wolfed down some mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and juice...
Maybe we should be diet buddies, I could use the help!

Since Josh will be active army (and gone from me from sept to dec)... We'll have a bit extra money on our bay Lake contemporary vacation. Do you think it would still be appropriate to treat him to a wishes cruise at that time?
it would be perfect for our honeymoon but we're already 90 days out and I don't really have the money to put aside with us already going for the deluxe dining... plus i know we might get some money in the honeymoon registry, but i will put whatever we get towards deluxe dining and our drinks around the world!!!!! anything left over (since it will be a disney gift card) we can put towards our DVC... we got 18K worth of points, and we still owe $8K. i would have paid it off faster, if invitations and my dress didn't wind up being so much more than i thought.
this all adds up.... having 12 months engagement wasn't bad, but it's gonna leave me in debt!

Irky sounds like she needs some Disney companions, we should all plan a girls weekend to Disney someday!
I think treating Josh to a Wishes cruise for your december trip is a great idea! I totally get where you're coming from with the money. We are paying for our wedding mostly ourselves and the expenses add up so quickly! I just hope we can afford DVC soon like you guys. That sucks your FH is gonna be away for so long. DF has been away on a business trip in Vegas for the last week and I haven't liked that, so I can't imagine 4 months!! A cruise would be something romantic for you to look forward to for when hubby gets back!

Some day we will sit at the margarita bar and enjoy us some sour apple margaritas. That's so nice that you liked reading your first bridal magazine. I hate them and throw them at people now.
Yeah, it's a bummer, but I've always been super independant. It just makes me appreciate the time we're together more. My only thing is that I'm hypersensitive to bcp, so i was looking forward to finally being able to get off... However, I really don't want to be 8 months preggo and without Josh, soooooo I guess I just tolerate that nasty pill a bit longer!!!
i think a wishes cruise will be fabulous too :) the only reason we got DVC is because we had 8K saved to put down and I've paid off 2000 in the past three months. The goal is to be paid off by the beginning of 2010! I only wanted to incur <1000 debt, otherwise my number crunching would be all skewed!!!! The developer points help to justify the early by. I guess DVC now increased the number of points to buy in, so I'm so glad we got in when we did!

:lmao: That is so funny about throwing bridal magazines at people! I went to a bridal expo last month and got like 8000 more and have already stopped reading them in general because of that. They are huge, they would indeed make good projectiles!
That stinks about the bcp thing. I totally know where you are coming from because I do not have a very good reaction to it either. Are you guys planning on having kids pretty soon after you get married or are you waiting awhile?
I don't know a lot about DVC so I have to start doing my research so we can start saving! Sounds like you guys got lucky. You said you are gonna have Bay Lake Tower right? I saw pictures of the model room, it looks so cool!

We're obsessed with BLT. Josh refused to have anything else... when we went to the sales presentation on our honeymoon they tried to sell us SSR, which Josh hated. I really liked AKV but Josh wanted one that was near Epcot or MK. Since the Contemporary's on the monorail, we can take themonorail to either. Or walk to MK. :rotfl:
The DVC boards are superhelpful if you have time to look.
I hate everything wedding, I just want to marry Josh. I feel like it's just ONE day, and yeah while it's celebrating us, I hate how brides say it's MY day. It's not your day. It's our day together and to celebrate with your loved ones. We let our mom's do whatever they want and take over most of the planning that they feel comfortable with. We want them to feel like part of our union so that we'll have a smooth transition to being family (ohana)! I hate bridal shows too. There were like 90 percent child bride and 10 percent frightening bride. I just didn't feel right at the two I went to.
I want kids fairly quickly, so did Josh until he foundout he was going to be gone from Sept to December.... So we're going to wait til December to stop preventing. I don't want to ever actively try until it doesn't happen for a year or so. Does that make sense?

I don't like SSR either too boring! But our twin thing continues...because I when I suggested AKL for a honeymoon DF said no way, he wants to be near the MK!! Ahhh we are living the same life haha it is insane.
I want kids quickly too but I don't think DF agrees so we'll wait a year I think, which I am ok with. We are going to try to save for a house first so we'll see what happens. But you guys def have a serious reason for waiting! It totally makes sense. You do get married so soon! I am way excited for you! It is still so crazy to me to be old enough to talk kids and weddings and stuff.

Haha maybe you'll wind up owning BLT some day soon and we'll see each other!!! I know I was probably least likely of my friends to get married so it's really funny that I'm the first.
Speaking of bridal show expos... I literally had someone send me a sales brochure with no postage on it, and a postage due envelope from my mailman. Can they even send me solicitation mail and force me to pay for it??? EW but what POOR taste!

I'm in town at my parents this weekend to do the interview, plus I had my hair trial for the wedding, josh and i had our final meeting with the priest (well except for the one the day before the bridal shower so we can give him the marriage license and give him our pre-cana certificate), and we met with our dj to outline what we're doing for the wedding. Our invitations went out Monday and as of yesterday we've had five responses!!!! I guess my sister sent out bridal shower invites and my bff sent out bachelorette party ones :cloud9:
Job applications/interviews in the Cleveland area have been time consuming as has applying to midwifery school!!!! But I really think I'll be so happier in another job!
Does anyone else have a sinus infection? I'm just like all puffy and draining and my right ear throbs when I chew. haha i'm going to be so attractive caring for people like this.

My DF was SO nervous for our first meeting with the priest, I'm catholic and he isn't so it was kinda scary for him! So funny, it ended up going really well though.

First of all:
I GOT THE JOB!!!!!
We're talking my dream job in labor adn delivery.... and only full term mommies (so less complications/sad situations). After all the sad stuff and death I've been surrounded by at work lately, I'm jumping out of my seat (and a bit tired of the hoop jumping involved in getting a new job, especially when you're doing it from hours away!!!) but I start very soon... April 6th. Two days after my bridal shower.
Speaking of bridal shower, my entire Bed bath and beyond registry had nearly been bought up (except for the coffee maker... the thing we've held off buying ALL year bc we were so excited to put it on our registry!!!!) we also got 100 bucks on the disney honeymoon registry so far!!!!
This really is all so exciting and I can't believe how soon everything is. Now I just need to get my butt to the gym. We've been house hunting like crazy :) I get to have an established home and I am just so excited to have a place to call home now!

Bachelorette party is a bar crawl! And comedy club! I can't wait!

I just made reservations for horse back riding and a carriage ride. Apparently, on the carriage ride you can bring champagne and then we're off to hoop dee due (and the free beer/sangria) afterward. This could get ugly.

Coming over from your May '08 TR.
O.K., so your DF is going active duty in Sept?? Where will he be transferred to? My dad was active duty Air Force for over 20 years, so I feel the American pull that your DF does. I live in Toledo area, where are you guys? I read that you are moving to Columbus, so are you in Cleveland now?
Your dress is gorgeous! And, I agree that your wedding is ONE day. I'd rather spend a lot of money on something else. I think some people go over board on their wedding day, but then again it's not my day.

CONGRATULATIONS :cheer2: I'm so happy for you, the new job sounds great! So much new stuff going on for you right now, it must be so exciting!! And the bachlorette sounds fun too! So how are the wedding plans?? You are SOOO close, it is crazy!
And the horseback riding/carriage ride sound so fun! I need motivation as well, I haven't been to the gym in two weeks. By the time I get home I'm just too tired to work out but I need to get my butt in gear!!
My new job is absolutely fabulous!!!! So much is going on... Moving, buying a house, starting my DREAM job (labor & delivery-- seriously!!!!), and a fabulous wedding and dream honeymoon. My life is fabulous and brilliant and I'm SO happy. Couldn't be happier. I just don't know what I did to become so blessed... :cloud9::lovestruc:love:
Coming over from your May '08 TR.
O.K., so your DF is going active duty in Sept?? Where will he be transferred to? My dad was active duty Air Force for over 20 years, so I feel the American pull that your DF does. I live in Toledo area, where are you guys? I read that you are moving to Columbus, so are you in Cleveland now?
Your dress is gorgeous! And, I agree that your wedding is ONE day. I'd rather spend a lot of money on something else. I think some people go over board on their wedding day, but then again it's not my day.
He's not "going" active duty, he's going to BOLC. Basic Officer Leadership Course from Sept to December. He'll be at Fort Sam Houston in Texas and in Oklahoma at Fort Sill. I'm going to miss him SO much. We are south of Toledo, PM me if you want to know where :) We are in Toledo now, and on Friday we are moving to Cleveland (we were looking at Columbus til I got my dream job-- plus my fam's in Cle so if he gets deployed then I get to be with my loved ones!!!!
Thanks so much, I think my dress is fabulous too. My family totally overspent with my wedding and I think it's ridiculous. I get that we're celebrating, but with the stress and the debt-- honestly how much can you enjoy it? Well 7 weeks til I figure it out!!!!
I can't believe I missed this report till now. Congrats again on your new job & DVC sounds wonderful. I just love your wedding dress, it's gorgeous.
Haha thank you so much, I too am partial to it.
Do you guys think it's ok, even though it's not white or ivory? I wonder how people will perceive it. But I don't really mind if no one else likes it. I feel like a princess in it, I don't mind being different, and I am not a white traditional kind of girl!

First congrats on your new job! Finding your dream job is just so awesome. Good luck with the house hunting. I don't know how you keep up I am tired reading about all the things going on in your life. Also awesome score on the Poly.
As for the dress. It is your day so you wear what makes you happy. I would try to not worry what other think because I am sure all they will be thinking is how beautiful you look and how in love you guys are. I think the days are long gone that a bride has to wear a white dress anyway.

No wonder I am having so much trouble fitting in working out, although I was up all night browsing for rehearsal dresses and a "going away" dress to travel in. So what if it's old fashioned, it makes me happy!!!!!
Thanks for the Poly comment-- I'm super excited.
Thank you very much, I'm sure I'll look super happy in it. As long as I get my arms to quit jiggling !

I know yesterday I got butterflies, only they were more than butterflies. They were like big canaries fluttering around my stomach. I feel sick kinda, I'm just not looking forward to moving and being away from Josh and I'm terrified to not find a house in time and have to live with my parents as newlyweds (I know sometimes it happens but that is SO not the plan)... So much is happening in the next 7 weeks, I honestly feel like I'll have earned this vacation!!! YAY honeymoon.
So how about you Amy? How's the wedding stuff coming?

I went to a formal last week in a very short dress that led to much tugging on my dress during the dancing. This got me thinking about my wedding dress. It's gorgeous and incredibly heavy and going to photograph beautifully. But what about after all the pictures and the ceremony and the cake cutting and the first dance as hubby and wife? What about after I've danced with my daddy and we've done the bridal party dance? How the heck can I cut lose in this?
Um. In this. I love these. And they come in champagne and they are 395 bucks and I need them. Okay obviously I dont' need them, but I swear if I still get my bonus check with my final check (post resignation) it's going to a second dress. I want to dance like a fiend and I could totally do it in one of...
these:

dolly couture the edmonton and, the manhattan. LOVE them.
Next, we're leaving our brunch sunday morning directly for Disney World. What do you think about something like this for brunch and to travel in? will it be comfy enough?
http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm297/calcox/springvivienholloway.jpg
This is a vivien of holloway. I wouldn't wear a petticoat with it (don't want to encroach on other airline passengers turf!) I love dresses and it looks super flattering and pretty comfortable. A nice "going away" dress!
I'm also checking out her pencil skirts for the rehearsal dinner. I've been feeling a 50s/60s vibe lately-- did a whole audrey hepburn dress and hair style this past weekend!!!! :lovestruc
Anyways, the second dress? What do you think? I love my first dress more than anything and I never thought i would want to change out of it on the only day I can wear it. But I love dancing. LOVE LOVE LOVE dancing. What do y'all think?

bump. bought the dress in dusty rose, they were having a sample sale in size 10 and i couldn't pass it up... 259.66 with shipping for a dress that would have cost me 480 had i bought it new!
since this dress is all about my dancing for the last two hours-- i was thinking makign mickey (navy blue) flip flops (the mickey crystals) on them for me and all my girls... i will obviously take off mychampagne veil, should i just leave my hear a loneor buy a flower for it?

I bought my 6 beautiful bridesmaids gifts: half are from VeraBradley.com (Raspberry fizz, java blue, and Puccini-- LOVE THEM) and half are these beach bags from the knot that are actually pretty darn cute.
"Half and half", you may say, "PrincessNewsie, why ever would you split your group of girls like that?"
"Well, thank you for asking, faithful audience"
I sent pretty fascinating text messages to my lovely bridesmaids asking them to choose one of the following in this statement.
Do you:
a)love vera and wish you could roll in a big pile of VB bags,
b) think that they're all right in small doses,
c) think they remind you of your Grandmother's knitting basket or want to punt/kick any one wearing them.
Based on their responses, I either chose a VB bag in their favorite color or personalized a cute boxy looking bag.
Now more importantly, I'm up to 162 Disney Reward Dollar from my rewards visa (and with all the money i just spent on those gifts, the dress, and my super cute bridal shower wear i will have way more) and 250 on my registry :) People have bought us 200 bucks on restaurants (put that straight to the dining plan) and my carriage ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We put a Disney Grand Couples massage on (but the way they do the registry are in increments, so it's put 4 $100 increments. Lovely thought, but I doubt anyone will bite. Which is okay.) We also put on the Around the World (segway) tour and horseback riding, but we'll only buy those things if people buy it. I don't have the money to splurge, but here's to hoping: I can't wait.
I move in with my parents Friday to do the bridal shower and start my new job. I love my parents but I've been on my own or a while now. It'll be nice to see them, but we're meeting with a realtor so hopefully I can move out before my dear fiance ever has to move in! I mean, could you imagine anything worse than a couple of celibate up until honeymoon newlyweds living with the bride's parents? Yuck!!!
And on another note, we are getting all kinds of amazing gifts off our registry shipped to our apartment,ALREADY!! Iit's so exciting. I can't imagine all the gear I'll be blessed with on Saturday. Freaking crazy! And on Friday we give the priest our marriage license, and our list of who goes where and does what.... it's our last meeting before the rehearsal!!!!
Well I like updating absolutely no one here who is reading, but it's nice to get all my thoughts out. Even if they are a jumbled ADHD mess.
Also, I wish I could use the word commingle more often.

I LOVE the idea of the second dress to dance, those are so cute! And I love the one you picked for the brunch, I agree that it should be fine to travel in especially since you love dresses!
So the bridal shower is tomorrow?! Well today actually it is late technically Saturday as I write this haha. The mickey flip flops sounds super cute, and so do the gifts. I am a very lover and it sounds like you put a lot of thought into what to get your girls which is so sweet.
Good luck living with your parents for awhile, I moved back in with mine recently after three years on my own and it is def an adjustment! I just can't wait for the wedding so I can get a place with DF!!

I totally understand, I'm inthe process of moving, new job, wedding in 6 weeks. I get busy! You must have your hands full too.
My bridal shower is today and my sister's in town for it for the first time at the same time as me since like last July for my engagement party, so we stayed up late drinking Jack and talking. My head hurts so bad! But I don't know if you know another poster on the boards, bellasoleil? I want to do my hair similar to how she always does her. Let's see how this works out today, with my hangover. I'm SO not a drinker anymore so this is pretty painful.
We went house hunting yesterday and I'm in love with it! Let's see what the realtor comes back with, I already spoke with a lender for preapproval, once the shower is over I need to fax him all kinds of crap!
I want to move out stat (like own the house before the honeymoon so I don't want to have to spend one newlywed minute under my parents roof!)
You like the second ress? yAY. I'm so excited to be able to DANCE!

I got like EVERYTHING off my registry (i.e. coffeemaker, high tech can opener and toaster, blender from the future) and all of my plates in RUST AND LINEN (for square small, round small, square large, round large) X4... so tons and tons of plates. I got paisley serving ware and paisley soup bowls... I got lots of serving stuff and pots and pans (Calphalon):hippie: and knives!!! I also got wine preserving stuff and a microplane grater... and even a hot magnetic strip to put knives on.
I'm looking for a 3 bedroom house with wood floors on a decent amount of property for our pup to play on!!!! We bid on ahouse and they had an unrealistic price set for the listing so we didn't get it (they didn't even counter).
Thanks I love the second dress too.. it came and it's such a pretty pink.
None of my dresses fit over my chest after getting on the birth control pill... This is BAD.
Anyways, how are you miss lauren?

Not well. We offered 100 bucks a square for a less than 1000 square foot home plus basement. They had bought it for way less and put ina few bucks with new cabinets in the kitchen and waterproofing a wall in the basement, and finishing the basement.
They rejected our offer and didn't even counter. My fiance will be in town next Monday to house hunt with our realtor and I'm going separately to see what I think ( i work monday).
This is SO stressful.
On a high note I get to do non stress tests tomorrow :goodvibes

It'll be nice to have him in town so that you two can bounce ideas off of each other. Plus it'll help to make the decision easier when you're together.

I know, they bought it for 70K and there's no way they put in any more than 5-8K for the house... We offered 91000... They want 140K for it! Ridiculous!
It will be nice to have him in town period. I hate when he's gone, we've been best friends for so long that I feel like a big part of me is missing when he's gone, we were friends before we ever dated. It's just weird to not have him here to talk to, and my cell phone is dead since he accidentally took my charger back with him (we bought our phones together and they're the same) so it's even harder not tlaking to him very often!!!!
haha Non stress tests is a really easy antepartum procedure, but I'm just nervous because it's my first intervention at all in Labor & Delivery ( I can't even believe I get to say Labor and delivery-- yay!)

We registered near Christmas, I know we decided to about 5 months before the wedding. I hate girly things and I hate dumb shower games, so all we did was eat finger foods and do a wine tasting (my mom bought a case each of four different fine wines-- one red, white, one rose, and one sparkling!) she made a little primer on which wines to drink with what foods and we gave out a heart wine stopper as a favor!
I love the new job so much, I always thought I'd love NICU but I really think this is the best imaginable job for me...
May 9th? THat's the day my fiance commissions to the US military-- what a fabulous day!
We have a big black lab who weighs 70 pounds and my dear fiance promised he'd never get bigger than 40 pounds. LIAR. He's so freaking cute though and I miss him so much. He came to visit me this weekend and he's so snuggly. I wish I could sleep with him (or my kity cat). Can't wait til we have our own place and I get my Josh and my flock of creatures back!

It's 3am and I couldn't sleep because of my allergy. I was catching up a few Pre-TR and stumble across this one and you TR as well.
First of all, congrats on everything; your engagement, your wedding, your new job, your up coming honeymoon and your new house possibly.
I read your ADR. Quite a good restaurant selection. DW and I just came back 2 months ago. We did the DxDP and have 3 ADR 5 days out of 7. We cleaned our plate at every meal. If you get up early enough and start your day, some time 3 TS is not enough.
Here is a few suggestion for your ADR base on my experience at those restaurants.
Jiko - Ostrich for appetizer. It taste great. :thumbsup2 Actually, it taste more like red meat than chicken.
WCC - Their milk shake is a best among all Disney restaurant. Also their dessert, Kuluha flavor chocolate cake is by far my most favorite dessert in Disney.
Yak & Yeti - Their duck is awesome and their Mango pie dessert is another must have that is if you like mango.
Artist Point - Great mushroom soup.
Kona cafe - Tonga toast for breakfast is a must.
My TR has plenty of those food pics too. Please feel free to stop by. I am still doing update.
Again congratulation on everything. More importantly, please tell your FH I said thank you for his service to this country.

I have been away for a while but am finding my way back to the Disboards... It always brightens my day when I read about Disney! My husband and I have 2 trips planned for this year - September for free dining and then December for Christmas (my favorite)! I have to start mapping everything out so I am prepared when it comes time to make dining reservations.
I love hearing that you now have the job that you have always wanted - I wish I knew what I wanted to do so I could find that job! Congrats!
Keep the updates coming - and happy House Hunting - it will all work out the way it is supposed to - God is in control and knows what house will be yours!
It won't be long and you will be happily married with all the planning behind you!
We are thinking about DVC but haven't taken the plunge yet - still working through the numbers in our heads. And trying to decide if we should by from Disney directly or from someone that is trying to sell their points at a timeshare place - they seem to sell them much cheaper per point so we are thinking about it.
Good luck with the house hunting and the wedding will be here soon - so it is only a little bit of time under your parents roof!

Wow. You've had a lot going on since I've been here!
I love the second dress. It's a nice idea. Sorry they're not fitting. Maybe you need to try a different pill if your current one is giving you problems?
I'm glad to hear you got everything you wanted at your shower. It sounds like you had a great time!
Sorry you didn't get the first house. I'm sure everything will work out and you'll get a house you love! It is stressful though.
I'm so happy you like your new job!
Keep us posted! I love hearing about all the huge things you have going on at the moment!
Thanks! I am just so stressed out I feel like my head could explode some moments! How's teaching?
Thank you for your recommendations. Ostrich makes me nervous but I'll let FH know. He's much more adventurous with meat!!!!!
I need to stop by your TR! What kind of allergies do you have? Seasonal?

Hi, welcome back! You'll love DVC. If you plan on going every year for the next 49 years, you really can't get a better deal, unless you buy a different time share and try to trade in through RCI!
I'm so ready to be married and have bought a house! The planning stages hurt my head.
Off to see a c-section!

Hey Caitlin!! How are you?? How are last minute plans going?
The wine tasting is SUCH a great idea for a shower! Very classy, I'm not a lover of cheesy party games either, I might have to steal that idea! And i love that the favors matched the theme too :goodvibes
Your dog sounds so cute! Kyle and I are dying to get a dog, but we have to wait about a year. By then we'll be getting a place together and we are making sure it is one that allows dogs because we both love them but neither of us can have them where we live now.

Unfortunately, I rarely drink alcohol and I didn't have any at Disney. When I do drink, my whole body from head to toe will turn bright red. Not a pretty site.
However, if you swing over to Universal Studio, I do recommend the frozen mango margarita from Margaritaville.

Awful, I'm ready to either punch Josh or my family. It's just so frustrating and over 1/3 of our people wound up declining-- we're not going to make our minimum, so I'm sending out a huge batch of B list on Saturday and hoping some choose to come 23 days out (ew how tacky). People were SO terrible about rsvping on time, and now i'm not going to make my minimum for the ballroom, which i have to pay regardless of if we have the people or not (10,000)
Hey Lauren, want to come to a wedding? :)
Steal the shower idea, it was SO much fun. The only way it could have been better is if no one stared at me opening gifts (although I had two glasses of wine before so it wasn't too terrible).
Finally, we are house hunting and assess our houses if they have a bruce worthy yard. having a dog is a way bigger responsibility than i thought! good thing he's cute!
Thanks.

Sorry that you aren't getting the people that you wanted at your wedding. It's too bad that, with the order of things, that you can't get your rsvp's first so you know how many people are coming and then book your reception hall. But, if you wait till then, then there aren't any venues available.

thanks!!!! i know that would be so much easier. we found out that the minimu is only 7500, which we've just barely hit so any other guests we get (or don't get) is just icing on the cake!!!!

haha he IS a pirate! Thank sso much-- I'm most excited for the disneymoon! We also started planning the Keys part-- key west sounds ilke it will be a blast!
Finally, we put an offer on a darling home built in the 1930s today-- it's SO gorgeous and well maintained and has so much character.... best part: it has an attic AND a basement for storage... and CENTRAL air. Best part, I think, next to the beautiful bay window!
19 days and the last minute wedding stuff is driving me nuts. So's finding a lender that I actually want to borrow from-- and trying to learn how to be a decent labor & delivery nurse.
I honestly want to puke. ANd forget sleep-- TOO busy

OMG no, I will have to reread what I wrote, but I have "only" invited 185, and 120 are coming. It's more than my dream (but that's 20 in Disney World), but I'm happy with it. At least I will know everyone there.
Josh's bachelor party is tonight (cinco de mayo) and I must say I'm a bit nervous. I could care less about strippers and alcohol and all that jazz, but I'm a bit worried that they'll get him so drunk he gets sick or they'll get him to do something that will ruin his commissioning (Only 3 days away!)
Tomorrow's our home inspection, and if that goes well-- we are going to be closing on a home on June 9th.
So dream home, check. Dream job, check. Finding and marrying my prince? Check... AND getting rewarded with 7 days at BCV, one night in Poly and SIX days in Key West?
I feel like a princess in some fantastic dream I don't EVER want to wake up from!

Lots, but I don't feel like copying them to my computer and then to photobucket and posting here. Will you remind me after the honeymoon? Or even while I'm on it (BCV has the net and we're probably bringing Josh's laptop in case we need it for house stuff) and I'll do it then, right now figuring out to shove as much stuff as possible into 2 suitcases (bc that's all we can afford to check), as well as last minute wedding stuff and figuring out what I need to leave in a bag for the night AFTER the reception is hurting my little brain.
PS Should I be introduced as Caitlin & Josh LastName or Mr & Mrs LASTNAME?

So we're here. The wedding was fabulous. I posted pics on facebook irky. Everyone had fun and josh looked so handsome. Still getting used to the last name change, but I hear that'll take a while! So glad its all over, but it was so much fun and such an emotional day.
It's rained since we got here yesterday...
Last night we checked in and got all ready for hoop dee doo. The food was subpar and the entertainment was cute but way too cheesy.
We made a mad dash from BCV to teppen edo in a downpour today. The food was delish, filet and shrimp, and we always love hibachis... Awesome sake-rita and plum wine!!!
Speaking of which, I love GG slush!
We can only handle so much rain pounding on our skulls through ponchos and only hit up the land and TT. Tried a few pastries that only made us feel tubby and got ready for dinner :)
Then I had to destroy any prewedding weight loss and had filet mignon again for dinner at yachtsman steakhouse. We had a blast.
Pray for a cessation in the downpour t-storms if you think about it :)
Tomorrow we're trying for AK, yak and yeti, and jiko... Lookin forward to it!

I was thinking of you guys! We got rained out, too... thank goodness we had the Disney Cruise the second week to make up for it. The biggest disappointments (other than being constantly soggy) were that our Luau was canceled and that we didn't get to go swimming in the Poly pool even once!

The Keys were great, I am sorry I haven't posted... I worked Tues-Thurs 7AM-8PM and drove to our old apt (across the state), locked my self out of the car at the gas station right off the exit, had to wait for Josh and AAA to rescue me (hours)... I slept in late today and spent the whole day opening the wedding packages that came here and catching up on tivo :) Josh is mad bc we have to have our whole place packed but there's so much mail and tivo to be had!!! haha I haven't been here since may 9th (almost a month!)

We actually stayed at the Poly on the back end of our vacation on the way back to the airport (May 30th) and it was wonderful.... 6 days in the Keys fixed it for us. How do you like DCL? We are thinking about going on one someday. And congrats on getting hitched!!!!

I work til 730pm tuesday. Josh is buying a fridge and microwave (stainless steel) and moving over all of our shower gifts and clothes tomorrow when we get the keys. I guess I'll have to wait to do the heavy duty moving on Wednesday when I'm off to play in the house!!!!!!!

I hope you're going to post how the wedding was. Your pictures were great! I want to hear about it!
I had to laugh at the Tivo thing because we're going out of town for two weeks and then coming back and moving into the house like 4 days later. Kevin keeps telling me I can pack while he's at work those few days and I keep telling him, "But I'm gonna have so much stuff on the DVR to catch up on because we can't take it when we move!!" :rotfl:

Ahhhh we just spent 420 bucks at Bed Bath and Beyond and 345 at Home depot!!!! We have this Shark navigator vacuum and i bought all new hardware for the bathroom (it was ugly). We planted veggies and herbs in the garden!!! It was fun. Thanks for the well wishes!

Thanks so much, I feel so much better. I was so stressed out pre-wedding, I put on tons of weight and I was just always ready to burst into tears. Coming home to my husband in my gorgeous new house from my dream job? Its still kinda stressful, but much more wonderful!
Thanks guys for following, I haven't even ordered my PhotoPass... I really want to get this thing going, so my goal is to at least post the first day by this weekend.

Here's a mini-update:
I LOVED Cali Grill, was so-so about Jiko, and absolutely adore the Polynesian.
Stormalong bay is pretty sweet-- even if it literally was STORMALONG the week we were there. Although transportation problems at the BCV made me highly rethink any future stays!
Our wedding was a complete blur and dream come true. I literally was a dancing fool.
I am back on night shift and only have three more weeks til I'm off orientation.
DH still can't find a job but is doing an AWESOME job making our brand new house a home.

I will start the TR soon... I just need a little input.
Do you want me to start with the wedding, or come back and do it once I get more pictures from the photographer (so I can start with Disney???)
Can I include Key West in it?

I read your engagement report and I just read most of your wedding report! I am looking forward to hearing more and seeing pictures! I was there the week before you (5/9-5/16/09) and we got a few days rain but not as much as you did! I am so sorry to hear that -- don't let it get you down! I cannot wait to see the pictures!!!!!!!!! And I am so jealous about the DVC! I would love to look into that but I want to be able to bring my dog along if I am investing that much money! :flower3:

Think we should use our Developer points to plan an impromptu trip? They're not renting out very well!

I say go for it if they aren't renting out. You'll probably have a hard time renting them with the free dining promo that's going on right now. I know I considered it when I saw you were renting out yours but it's much cheaper to stay another night or two at CSR & get free food.

You are very right. I promised my sis (maid of honor) a trip this next year. I wanted to stay at CR or GF in oct with some of the $ from the rental... Oh well, SSR is beautiful and ill just have to scoot our vaca up a few months. Maybe DH can come too!!!
