Spent last week at WDW and experienced some poor food quality. Have eaten at Rose & Crown a few times before and always had great food. This time was such a change - my son's fish was all crust; no meat. I had Bangers & Mash and it was horrible - potatoes were runny and no cabbage. What happened?? And to top it off - Warm apple crumble had no crumble; just a few slices of hard apples with a tablespoon of ice cream on top. I am not exaggerating as I have always loved the food at WDW and was so disappointed in this meal. :confused3

I am so sorry to hear that!!! I hope it was just a flukey thing.

I know how you feel though, last year all I heard was how amazing figaro fries were and I was SO EXCITED when I finally got to MK to eat them. Well I don't know what happened but it was just cheese and like bacon bits on my figaro fries....I was disappointed and I heard a few others complain of that as well.

100% serious, and no sarcasm: did you ask at the restaurant what happened? Why the specific menu items had changed so much from earlier visits (and, apparently, from the menu description)?

Wow, I'd say that no crumb topping on the warm apple crumble is a pretty big bummer. I just made an ADR for May at Rose and Crown. I hope it was a fluke!

Wow. We were just there in January, and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. It had to have been a fluke. So sorry it was horrible!

Sorry to hear - I know we are talking about skipping R&C this year because last time it was just so/so. We used to love R&C.

I used to love Rose & Crown, but got food poisoning the last time I went. I would most definitely try it again though. The restaurant is great and it may just have been a fluke thing (or I have a food allergy and do not know it yet).

Did you complain about your meal at all? They most definitely would have corrected the problem right then and there. The staff was always very good when we were there and we've gone several times.

No, I did not complain. I guess I was so surprised that I didn't even think about saying anything. I was dining with my son who had never eaten there before (he was there on business) and after raving about how good it was, I guess I was so embarassed that I didn't think about anything else. Now, I wish I had said something. I will be interested to hear what others think about their meals.

We ate there last week and the fish and chips were good. There was a lot of crust but a big hunk of fish too. I didn't eat many of the fries. We had a salad beforehand and it was delicious. No desserts so can't talk about them.

I'm so sad that you did not have a good meal at all. It sounded really bad ...

Sorry you had a bad experience. To all others with upcoming teservations- Restaurants have their good and bad days. We ate there twice on our trip from 1/25 - 2/1 and both times everything we had was fantastic.

I hope it's a fluke. This was one of the few places that my husband was really looking forward to (bangers & mash specifically).

Sorry to hear that it wasn't good. My last experience there wasn't the best either. We said we were going to skip it this year.
