Hi I wanted to introduce myself.
I was told to get my sorry butt over to this board from a fellow pin trader/collector!
For whatever reason, I have only seemed to read the collectors board.......when I told Judith M about my problems with walking long distances she said "Get to the DISabilities board NOW!"
You all probably think she is a quiet, sweet girl, but boy can she get fiesty!!!! ;)

Anyway.....I will start reading these posts....seems like a host of information that would help me on my future WDW trips, plus hopefully I can add some advice as well!

so.......HI! I am Lynnie, love Disney, and am majorly into pin collecting. I live in Philadelphia, have an ex husband I call THE RAY (he is a MAJOR MAJOR Disney fan as well.....and I hate the term 'ex'....so he was given THE RAY...hehehehe) and a DS who is 9 and just as crazy about Disney as his parents!!!

Welcome to the gang Lynnie. I'm a major pin collector also. I love my pins. This is the best place for handicapped access info.

Welcome.
I'm not a pin collector to the degree that you and Lisa are, but we do have about 25 pins, so I think our family counts as pin fans.
And, we already knew that Judith can be feisty when she needs to be and she's also a great source of information. One of the great things about this board is that we have people with a variety of different disabilities and viewpoints. The more people who visit and help with advice, the more likely it is that we'll have helpful information.

I'm innocent!! Fiesty? Sue, you don't even know me :)!! I'm the quiet one - ok, stop gagging, Lynne.

Seriously, welcome to the DISabilities board, girlfriend! I read this board as a lurker for awhile before I started posting. The folks here gave me the courage to ask my orthopedic doctor fora handicapped parking permit, to get a GAC at WDW & to rent an ECV. The ECV is a life saver for both my husband & me!

You are right, Judith, I don't know you, but I have seen you tell people "Go get an ecv. I did and it was wonderful. You'll be glad you did."
I'd call that feisty in all the right ways!:bounce:

Well I know Lynnie from that "other" board and she is the sweetest person in the world! So treat her well here!

And I actually am checking in because I have a Hard Rock Cafe pin that Lisa would love, even if she doesn't collect them. So Lisa, I am e-mailing you now.

P.S. I also wanted to say that if not for this board, my little Rachel would have had a much harder time in WDW. Did you know that they make larger strollers for bigger kids that don't want to be in a wheelchair? You just have to ask for them!

Hey Lynnie thePooh, I did not know that about the bigger stroller that will be perfect for my 6 y.o. DS. Thank you.

Safari Steve (a MK CM) has posted that they had strollers big enough to fit a small 12 yr old. I'm glad to hear it worked out for you.
The wheelchairs they rent at the parks are adult size and I always think they look so uncomfortable when I see a small child in an adult chair.
