Well, I just got back from Universal Studios. The plan was to see the Mardi Gras parade and then Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons perform after the parade.

I brought the camcorder with me to get some video of Frankie Valli. When I arrived at bag check, I was told by security that tripods were banned.

Huh?

I can bring the camcorder in but not the tripod. Well, back to the car to drop off the tripod. On the way back, I call Universal Studios Guest Services and, after being on hold for 20 minutes, I hung up.

I would have stopped by Guest Services in the park but my thought was that they wouldn't have a clue and the time was getting close to parade time.

I have an email in to Guest Services to see why tripods are banned.

I've never had a problem bringing a tripod into any of the Disney parks.

This is a little bizarre.

Stupid rule as you almost always need a tripod to get good night photography.
